Demi Moore Stars In Pandemic Movie
Demi Moore has signed on to star in the pandemic thriller, Songbird. Co-starring Craig Robinson, Paul Walter Hauser and Peter Stormare, the film will be directed by Adam Mason, who co-wrote the script with Simon Boyes. Filming will “utilize strict social distancing practices and innovative techniques that will allow for shooting to begin imminently,” a press release from the producers said Wednesday. A synopsis of the movie described it as a love story. “Told from street level through the eyes of the characters, Songbird takes place two years into the future, as lockdown has been re-implemented after a more serious virus continues to mutate,” the synopsis said.

Billie Eilish unfollowed every account she previously followed on Instagram. She has nearly 64 million followers including both fans and celebrities. Fans have speculated the reasoning behind her recent unfollowing spree. She posted an Instagram Story that said, “If I am following your abuser DM ME & I will unfollow them. I support you.” The statement has been shared by countless celebrities. She was criticized by fans on Twitter after posting the message on Instagram while still following celebrities who have been accused of sexual assault, including Justin Bieber, Ansel Elgort, Chris Brown, and the late rapper XXXTentacion. Bieber and Elgort recently denied the claims. She unfollowed them and then the rest of the accounts she followed, according to Insider.com. Eilish has also dealt with abuse from fans. Joe Exotic Out Of Quarantine
Joe Exotic has been released from solitary confinement after a massive letter-writing campaign. He was released from solitary after spending months on lockdown due to the coronavirus. His husband, Dillon Passage, had revealed the lockdown news in April, telling Andy Cohen’s SirusXM show at the time that Joe was placed in solitary after the prison he was in started to have cases. He noted that he was unable to speak to him as a result of the lockdown. “Joe is OUT of isolation and getting the care he needs because of YOU!!” a post on Instagram Tuesday from Joe’s representative reads. “More than 2,000 of Joe’s BIGGEST FANS hand-wrote letters asking for his release and it worked, proving that there is strength in numbers. THANK YOU!!!” The post from Eric Love was accompanied by a lengthier statement explaining the situation. “Recently, most of you became aware of the fact that Joe was being unjustly held in solitary confinement for an extended period of time. Two thousand of you were kind enough to take time out of your busy lives, in spite of all that is going on in this world around us today, to write and ask that he be released,” the statement reads. “It is with much sincere gratitude that we can tell you all today your efforts have paid off! Joe has called this very day to let us know that the day has finally come. For the first time in two years he is able to simply look out of a window into the world beyond while being lifted out of hopelessness and desperation by the kindness shown from all of you.”

Miley Cyrus Accused Of Photo Stealing
Miley Cyrus was hit with a lawsuit Wednesday for allegedly stealing a photographer’s shot of her at New York Fashion Week and posting it to her Instagram account. Photographer Chosen Figure took the snap of Cyrus, wearing a crop top, black slacks and red boots, as she left the Marc Jacobs show Feb. 12, according to the suit filed in Manhattan federal court. The photo later appeared on her Instagram page and garnered 2,618,259 likes. “Defendants ran the photograph on their website to promote their brand,” wrote lawyer Richard Liebowitz in the suit that also names Cyrus’ company. “Defendants did not license the photograph …nor did defendants have Plaintiff’s permission or consent to publish the photograph.” The suit seeks $150,000 in damages.

Prince Charles is the latest public figure to find himself taking heat amid a period of global unrest. On Monday, Clarence House — the official social media account for Charles shared a speech online to commemorate Windrush Day, a celebration of Caribbean immigrants contributing to the British economy after their 1948 arrival. In the speech, the prince praised the diversity in the U.K., saying that “the diversity of our society is its greatest strength and gives us so much to celebrate.” He was skewered in the comments by individuals accusing him of a lack of response when his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle faced racially-motivated criticism. “What about the way Meghan Markle was treated by some royal family members? And that British media?” one Twitter user commented. “People who live in glass castles should not throw stones.” “These are just empty words. That’s rich coming from you. I don’t think you believe them,” said another. “If you did you would not have sat silently by and let the [British] Media crucify Meghan you [sic] daughter in law and the only example of diversity in your family.” “Shameful that he did not think the ‘diversity in his own family’ was its greatest strength & ‘much to celebrate,'” wrote a third. “Mere empty words, spoken by the Prince of Wales. Disgraceful!” A fourth added: “Gosh. Maybe some day [sic.] a member of the royal family will marry a beautiful, accomplished African American person. Bearded Dragon Escapes
A bearded dragon that escaped from a Canadian man’s yard is back home after taking a 10-day trek to where the pet was found 2 1/2 miles away. William Hill said his pet lizard, Groot, ran off from his home in the Elmwood area of Winnipeg, Manitoba, when his father took the animal outside for some fresh air June 13. Hill said he searched the area for his pet, but he feared Groot would not be able to survive without a consistent source of heat to emulate his native environment. Cara Velnes, who lives in the St. Boniface area of Winnipeg, about 2 1/2 miles from Hill’s home, said she heard a commotion outside her house Tuesday night and went out to discover some neighborhood kids had found a large lizard underneath a parked vehicle. Velnes brought the dragon inside, where she just happened to have an empty tank for a bearded dragon she had once considered getting her children for Christmas before their wish lists changed. Velnes posted about the discovery on a St. Boniface Facebook group, where another member recalled seeing Hill’s post about Groot’s escape on a Facebook group for local lost pets.

Leech Pulled From Inside Man’s Penis!
Doctors in Cambodia recently removed a leech that, in wince-worthy fashion, had entered an elderly man’s penis while he was swimming and drank a full pint of blood. The unnamed patient first knew something was awry after experiencing severe pain while trying to use the bathroom, reports Viral Press. He wound up at a hospital in Phnom Penh, where a tiny camera was inserted into his penis, which revealed the culprit to be a leech. He told doctors that he went swimming in a river earlier that day, leading them to say it had swum up his urethra and into his bladder. Indeed, the hospital warned locals in a statement that “the waters are rich with leeches and other insects during the rainy season.” Unfortunately, removal was complicated by the fact that it had ballooned up to a much larger size after sucking a pint of the victim’s blood — hence his pain while urinating. Not only that, but it had already injured parts of the man’s organs with its teeth. To safely extract the vile visitor, doctors were forced to use a tiny probe with electric nodes and cutting tools at the end to kill the leech before yanking it back out the way it came in.

Oldest Dog
A 20-year-old golden retriever in Tennessee is being hailed as the longest-living dog of her breed after becoming the first on record to surpass the milestone age. The GoldenHeart Golden Retrievers Rescue said August, known affectionately as Augie, is believed to be the oldest-ever golden retriever at an age of 20 years and 61 days — and counting. The rescue said Augie, who was adopted by Oakland residents Jennifer and Steve Hetterscheidt at the age of 14, celebrated her 20th birthday April 24, becoming the first golden retriever known to have reached a third decade of life. The breed has an average lifespan of 10 to 12 years.

Potted Plant Enjoy Concert
An opera house in Spain celebrated the lifting of COVID-19 lockdown regulations by holding a concert for a sold-out audience of potted plants. The Teatre del Liceu opera house in Barcelona held a concert Monday, the first day of coronavirus restrictions being lifted, featuring the UceLi Quartet playing for an audience of potted plants filling the venue’s 2,292 seats. The concert, masterminded by conceptual artist Eugenio Ampudia, did not feature any human audience members, but the performance of Puccini’s “Crisantemi” was livestreamed by the opera house’s YouTube account. The Liceu said the plants were purchased from local nurseries and will be donated to healthcare workers from Hospital Clinic of Barcelona.
