Meghan Markle Launching Podcast
Meghan Markle will launch her first Spotify podcast in 2022. She will host the new show Archetypes, which is slated to debut this summer. Archetypes will explore the stereotypes historically applied to women. She will speak with historians and other experts to learn the origins of these stereotypes and how they shape cultural narratives. “This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us… but where do these stereotypes come from? Ukranianians Use Bon Jovi To Boost Morale
A video has gone viral of Ukrainians listening to Bon Jovi as they prepare to fight amid the country’s war with Russia. The video was originally posted by Olexander Scherba, Ukraine’s former ambassador to Austria, who captioned the video, “#Odesa preparing fortifications & getting ready to fight.” “Will someone show this to @BonJovi please?” Scherba asked on Twitter. The official Twitter account for Bon Jovi saw the video circulating, and it re-posted the clip, writing: “This is for the ones who stood their ground… Odessa, Ukraine #SlaviUkraini”. In the clip, Ukrainian citizens are listening to Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life” as the troops continue to prepare themselves amid the Russian invasion. The video highlights hundreds of people working together and passing boxes of supplies from one another to the back of a truck. Carole Baskin Dances In Odd Video About Missing Husband
Carole Baskin was back in the spotlight on Wednesday, starring in a pair of viral TikTok videos that have racked up more than 3 million views. The Big Cat Rescue CEO appeared alongside two young ladies in the clips as they performed a dance routine to the Brooklyn Charles track “Savage: Tiger King Edition.” The lyrics to the song claim that Baskin murdered her missing husband, Don Lewis — who has not been seen since 1997. In the TikTok videos, Baskin is seen laughing and jokingly trying to cut the music as Charles raps the lyrics: “Carole Baskin/ killed her husband/ whacked him.” “No, I didn’t!” Baskin mouths, as the song continues to play. Baskin has vehemently denied she was involved in Lewis’ mysterious disappearance. Thousands of people left comments under the clips, with one writing: “How did you get her to agree to this?!” “You can say a lot of things about Carol, but you can’t say she’s not an icon!” another fan chimed in.

Wendy Williams Goes After Wells Fargo
Wendy Williams wants her money – and for everyone to know “it’s not fair” that Wells Fargo is keeping her from it. She is demanding answers after the bank froze her out of her account over claims she needs a guardian. “My thing is that I’ve been asking questions about my money and when I begin asking questions about my money, suddenly Lori Schiller has got no response regarding my money. I want my money. This is not fair,” Williams said in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday. Schiller is Williams’ former financial adviser, who allegedly led Wells Fargo to freeze the talk show host’s account after claiming she was of “unsound mind” to handle her affairs. “Wells Fargo has no questions and answers regarding my money. This is not fair. And Lori Schiller and Wells Fargo has this guardianship petition about keeping me away from my money,” she added. “This is not right and this is not fair.” She also addressed her former manager Bernie Young, whom she referred to as “this guy.” “I know for a fact that Bernie Young used my American Express card to hire an attorney to file a petition against me. That was done with my American Express card,” she alleged.

Aggressive Seagulls
Hotels in Venice, Italy, announced guests are being armed against the city’s aggressive seagulls with an unusual form of protection: water guns. The AVA, the hotelier’s association for the city of Venice, said guests are being given orange water guns to ward off the city’s seagulls, which are known to aggressively go after food and anything else they see as edible. “They really work, they’re also colored orange, which those birds don’t like,” Paolo Lorenzoni , director of the historic Gritti Hotel near the Grand Canal, told ANSA. He said the birds are already learning to avoid anyone brandishing a water gun. “As soon as they see the pistols, they fly away,” he said. “You don’t even need to use them, you just need to keep them on the table.”

Fake Tiger On The Loose
Police in Oldham, England, responded to a call about a tiger loose in a neighborhood garden that ended up being a stuffed toy. A concerned citizen made the call thinking that a real tiger was resting on the grass. Police quickly arrived onto the scene and determined that it was a stuffed toy. The GMP Oldham Central Facebook page uploaded a photo of the stuffed animal and provided a quote from Tony the Tiger who exclaimed “They’re grrrrrrrreat!” when asked about Oldham Police. “Tony is now safely booked into property at Oldham Police station,” the Facebook post continued. Cat Rescued From Cell Tower
A firefighter climbed a 30-foot-tall cellphone tower on Wednesday to rescue a cat spotted stranded high up on the structure. The Pune Fire Brigade and local animal rescue volunteers responded to the tower, located on the terrace of the three-story Sundar Corner building in Pune, after a resident reported seeing a cat stranded atop the tower. Firefighter Chandrakant Ananddas climbed the tower and attempted to lure the feline into a basket. The fire brigade said Ananddas was able to wrangle the cat after a couple of failed capture attempts and he brought the feline safely back down to the ground. See the video HERE.

Florida Men Rip Off Gas Pump
Four Florida men were busted for installing devices inside gas pumps that dropped prices down to nearly nothing — an alarming trend that officials said will only spread with fuel costs soaring. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said the suspects installed sophisticated “pulsators” inside pumps that regulate price and fuel flow. The devices sent per-gallon costs plunging down to just pennies and allowed pumpers to fill up almost for free. The fraudsters allegedly pulled off the scheme at two separate Circle K stations in Lakeland and Lutz. Rogelio Llerena and Yulier Garcia-Martinez were busted on March 12 while topping off an oversize gas tank in Lakeland. Garcia-Martinez even had a remote device to manipulate the pulsators, officials said. Yordian Diaz-Benitez, of Tampa, was arrested at a Lutz station for stealing diesel fuel on March 10. Marlon Rosel-Rodriguez was cuffed two days later for attempting to place the device inside a pump at the same station. Ned Bowman, president of the Florida Department of Agriculture, said skyrocketing gas costs have fraudsters licking their chops. Worried station clerks are also cross-checking their inventory outflow and income to check for hacked pumps.

7 Cases When A High Sex Drive May Be A Sign Of Trauma

You’re putting sex first.
“Prioritizing sex over other things, like maintaining day-to-day life, is a red flag for unhealthy sexuality,” Kent said.
Omar Ruiz, a licensed marriage and family therapist and owner of TalkThinkThrive, said this can include “difficulty with controlling thoughts, actions, or conversations about sex, or compulsively acting on the desire for sex, which gets in the way of everyday functioning.”
You’re feeling bad about yourself after sex.
Regretting your sexual encounters often can be a sign of trauma.
“People with trauma histories will often use sex as a way of dealing with their sense of emotional insecurity,” Jacob Brown, a psychotherapist based in San Francisco, told HuffPost. “One of the red flags includes feeling unhappy or upset shortly after sex.”
Of course, this isn’t always the case. Kent suggested asking yourself several questions about sex to determine how you’re feeling and where those feelings are coming from: Do you feel empty or worthless if you don’t have sex? Do you feel empty or worthless after having sex? Do you equate sex with love, and is feeling loved contingent on having sex? If you answer yes to any of the above, it could be a sign your high sex drive is linked to trauma.
You’re engaging in risky behavior.
Having risky or dangerous sex ― for example, not using protection or not knowing the status of multiple new partners ― could be another sign.
“Survivors — who are merely trying to feel embodied, connected to others and escape the felt sense of chronic stress — may turn to hypersexuality,” said Gillian O’Shea Brown, a complex trauma therapist, the author of ”Healing Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder” and an adjunct professor of trauma at New York University. “The urgency to soothe these trauma-related psychological and physiological symptoms can lead to risky behaviors, a lack of discernment around choice of partners, and a dismissal of your own needs for safety and respect.”
You’re using sex to control your thoughts or others’ actions.
People with past trauma may use sex as a form of control over their own thoughts or over others’ actions instead of as a way to promote intimacy.
“Some people want to feel a sense of control and ownership over their bodies,” Kent said. “Some people use sex to feel loved and validated. Some people use sex for manipulation. Sex offers some people a way to connect with others in a way that they might not be able to connect emotionally or mentally. It can also be an escape.”
Hypersexual behavior could also look like “using sex to solve problems, such as calming your partner down, making an apology or getting something you want,” Jacob Brown added.
You’re feeling addicted to sex.
There is a difference between enjoying sex and feeling addicted to sex. The latter might involve seeking sex “as a way to get your next hit, similar to a drug or alcohol addiction; yet, you feel no real pleasure from the sexual encounter,” Ruiz said.
Marisa Peer, a therapist and the founder of Rapid Transformational Therapy, said hypersexuality “is associated with a sudden or extremely frequent increase in libido that is difficult to control.”
This could look like “an insatiable need to watch porn or a focus on sexual fantasies and urges that you have to act upon, such as excessive masturbation or having unprotected sex with endless strangers,” said Peer, who is also the author of “Tell Yourself a Better Lie.”
Sometimes an addiction to sex comes from trauma that leads survivors to feel unsafe in their bodies.
“Among survivors of childhood trauma, an impulse to ritualistically and compulsively seek comfort is common and leads to a higher prevalence of addiction,” Gillian O’Shea Brown said. “Sexuality as a source of ritualistic, compulsive comfort seeking, just like other addictions, can lead to even deeper feelings of shame, regret, despair and re-traumatization.”
You may be disassociating from your body during sex.
“Individuals who have experienced repeated sexual abuse often learn to dissociate from their bodies,” said Randy Brazzel, a therapist and CEO of New Dimensions Day Treatment Centers. “This is a process where they become emotionally numb in order to cope with the repeated trauma. Their mind and body become disconnected.”
Disassociating during sex can also be a way to protect yourself from negative feelings.
“Are you engaging in sex to distract from intrusive thoughts or pervasive feelings of guilt, shame and despair?” Gillian O’Shea Brown asked. “If so, sexuality could be masking deeper painful emotions coming from unresolved trauma.” She added that this could make your body feel like “a source of pain, intrusion and shame” that leads to a disconnection from your body.
You’re struggling to form meaningful relationships.
“Separating sex from emotional intimacy could indicate past sexual abuse,” Brazzel said. “For example, becoming hypersexual with a stranger but being unable to enjoy sex with someone you feel emotionally close to.”
Peer said those who have experienced trauma might struggle to form meaningful relationships.
“You will be thinking about where you are going to find your next sexual high rather than being in the moment with your current partner,” she said.
How to cope
“Healing hypersexuality is not a linear process and will require understanding the root cause and motivation behind the behavior,” Kent said.
The first step is to talk to a licensed mental health professional who is trained in sexuality and trauma. Common treatments include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, sensate focus and eye movement desensitization reprocessing.
Some people may benefit from taking medication and/or working with a therapist or psychiatrist. Additionally, it’s wise to reach out to a primary physician, as medical issues (such as traumatic brain injuries, endocrine disorders and thyroid conditions) can sometimes cause hypersexuality, Kent said. She also suggested getting screening for sexually transmitted infections and diseases regularly and creating boundaries with sexual partners “to ensure emotional and physical safety.”
“The foundation of trauma healing begins with enhancing the survivor’s awareness and knowledge about the body’s responses to trauma, with the ultimate goal of locating a sense of safety within the body,” Gillian O’Shea Brown added. You deserve to find pleasure and intimacy from sex — without sex taking over your thoughts or dominating your life. With a little help, discovering a healthy sex life after trauma is possible.
