Nick Cannon Welcomes 9th Child

Nick Cannon welcomed his ninth child, daughter Onyx Ice, on Wednesday. The baby is Cannon’s first with model LaNisha Cole.  Cannon shared the news on Instagram alongside a photo of himself and Cole with their baby girl.  “Introducing ONYX ICE COLE CANNON… Once again Today I am in Awe of the Devine Feminine! God has given me and @MissLanishaCole the privilege of hosing an Angel here on earth. I vow to protect, provide, guide and love this child to the best of my abilities,” he captioned the post.  Cannon also addressed critics of his family.  “As we all know I am not easily triggered and have quite tough skin and have always been an open book but not everyone in my family has that same level of strength. So I pray and ask others to please project all criticism and cynicism towards ME and not the loving and precious Mothers of my children,” he wrote.  Cannon has seven other children: twins Monroe and Moroccan, 11, with Mariah Carey, twins Zion and Zillion, 15 months, with Abby De La Rosa, and son Legendary Love, 10 weeks, with Bre Tiesi. He also has son Golden, 5, and daughter Powerful Queen, 19 months, with Brittany Bell, who is pregnant with their third child together.  Cannon’s son Zen with Alyssa Scott died at five months old in December 2021.

Wendy Williams Checks Into Wellness Center

Wendy Williams’ publicist has announced that she has checked herself into a wellness center so she can focus on her various health issues. “She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast,” Williams’ representative Shawn Zanotti said in a statement Wednesday. “Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world.”  Zanotti did not offer details about what type of facility Williams is being treated at or what exactly sparked the decision to check into it. The Wendy Williams Show officially wrapped its 13-year run in June, but Williams, 58, had been absent from her daytime show since October 2021 while battling health issues, including Graves’ disease, which is a thyroid condition, and COVID-19.  Sherri Shepherd has taken over the program’s time slot with her own talk show, Sherri, which premiered Monday.

Jimmy Kimmel Apologizes To Quinta Brunson

Jimmy Kimmel apologized to “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson after his pretending-to-be-drunk bit at the Emmy Awards distracted from her acceptance speech on Monday.   Kimmel and Will Arnett, who were the presenters for the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series award, began their segment with a bit in which the actor dragged Kimmel on stage by his ankles as he joked that the TV host had passed out after having “gotten into the skinny margaritas” backstage following his loss in his own category.  Fans criticized Kimmel for being rude to the star and taking away from her moment as he stayed prone on the stage for her entire speech. However, Brunson was gracious, saying she was not upset about his antics. Near the end of Kimmel’s monologue for his show Wednesday night, Brunson strode onto the stage with her Emmy in hand.  After Kimmel remarked she was “a little early” for her interview, she responded, “I have a little favor to ask. So you know how when you win an Emmy you only have 45 seconds to do an acceptance speech, which is like not that much time. And then … you get less time because someone does a dumb comedy bit that goes on a bit too long?”  “I have heard of that happening in previous years,” Kimmel replied.  “Well, I was wondering, or no, more demanding if I could, I have a couple of extra minutes to thank, you know, a couple of extra people.”  Kimmel left the stage to her where she thanked the academy “again” and mentioned several names she missed the first time.  He admitted it was a “dumb” comedy bit. “People got upset. They said I stole your moment, and maybe I did, and I’m very sorry if I did do that. I’m sorry I did do that, actually. And also the last thing I’d ever want to do is upset you because I think so much of you. And I think you know that. I hope you know that.”

Archie and Lilibet’s Royal Titles Up In The Air

King Charles III won’t reveal the new titles for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two kids, Archie and Lilibet, amid the mourning period for Queen Elizabeth IIArchie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, are expected to take on Prince and Princess titles. However, there’s speculation that they will not receive His and Her Royal Highness titles. “That is the agreement — they can be Prince and Princess but not HRH because they are not working royals,” an insider told the Sun this week. The source added that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly “furious” their kids won’t be getting HRH titles.  Upon the Queen’s passing and King Charles III’s subsequent ascension to the throne, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet “Lili” Mountbatten-Windsor may be referred to as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. But that’s only if the royal family follows tradition.  In 1917, King George V made the rule that children and grandchildren of the monarch — in this case, Charles — can claim titles.  But things aren’t so clear-cut for the children of the Sussexes, after Harry and Markle stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020.
********Can they have their royal cake and eat it, too???

Cardi B Pleads Guilty

Cardi B pleaded guilty to two charges in a New York court, ending a case brought in 2019 when she was implicated in two 2018 fights at New York strip clubs. Formally, she pleaded guilty to assault in the third degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree. The judge sentenced the rapper to 15 days of community service; Cardi B was also handed a three-year full order of protection for the two victims and court fees, according to the Queens district attorney’s office.  In a statement, Cardi B wrote, “Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions. As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to. These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now. I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most—the music and my fans.”

Kim Kardashian’s Future Man

In an appearance on The Late Late Show, Kim Kardashian told host James Corden that she is currently single and not looking to date because she just wants “to chill for a minute.” But when she is ready, she has a plan that will avoid anyone in the entertainment industry. “I feel like I have to do something, like go to different places,” she replied when Corden asked where Kim Kardashian meets people. “Clearly it’s not working, whatever I’m doing. So, I don’t know. Maybe, like, a hospital and meet a doctor. A law firm. I think it’s going to be, like, scientists. Neuroscientist. Biochemist. Doctor. Attorney. That’s maybe what I envision in the future.”  Kardashian also discussed attending law school and being on the cover of countless magazines, as well as her first high-stakes photoshoot with Karl Lagerfeld.

ONE LAST THING – (People)

Sterling K. Brown
The actor, 46, stars in the new comedy “Honk For Jesus, Save Your Soul”

Last time one of my kids made me laugh: Probably yesterday. My oldest son (Andrew, 11) is just on the edge of puberty. So it’s questions that he asks about his changing body. You’re not allowed to laugh; you sort of smile, like “I remember that.”

Last time I stayed up too late: I got to bed around 10:30, and then sometimes – especially when I first start a crossword – could be 1:30 a.m. by the time I go to sleep because I have to finish.

Last thing I took from a set: I took the family portrait of myself and Susan and our girls from “This is Us.” It’s of when they were younger becaise it reminds me of the privilege of watching those young girls become young women. I have it on my desk, and I see it every day.

Last moment of nostalgia: Watching “Top Gun: Maverick.” It’s one of the few movies that I’ve seen in the theater since the pandemic happened. I felt 10 years old all over again just watching Tom Cruise’s magic. It felt really, really good.

Wolf Turns Out To Be Cute Puppy

Police in Oklahoma said they were responded to reports of a wolf wandering around a daycare and ended up reuniting the “cuddly” wolf-dog hybrid with its owner.  The Oklahoma City Police Department said on Twitter that officers responded to a report of a wolf near a daycare and they arrived to find the canine was “a cuddly puppy.”  Officers learned the animal, which is 85% wolf and 15% Alaskan Malamute, had been reported missing to a nearby police department.  The “cordial canine” was reunited with its owner, police wrote.  See the pic HERE.

TV Address Leads To Lottery Win

A Maryland man who saw the same address on TV twice ended up using the number combination to play the lottery and won $50,000.  The 82-year-old Hyattsville man told Maryland Lottery officials the Pick 5 ticket he bought for the Sept. 1 drawing at AJ Liquors in Brentwood bore a set of numbers from an unusual source.  “I was watching a movie and the number 2103 was shown as an address,” the player recalled. “Then, the very next program showed that same number as an address.”  The man used the number to buy a Pick 4 ticket, and added an extra 1 to the end to buy a Pick 5 ticket. He said it was days after the drawing before he discovered he had won $50,000 from Pick 5. “I got a printout of the numbers at a lottery retailer and I thought I was seeing things,” he said. “I had to take my glasses off and look again.”

Just Another Day In Florida

A Florida man was arrested and accused of using an excavator to crush a woman’s truck after she failed to find enough money to buy drugs, authorities said.  According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Richard Hamilton, of Englewood, was “laughing hysterically” as he used the bucket of an excavator to smash the woman’s Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck on Sunday.  Deputies said the incident began on Saturday night when Hamilton drove the woman to several gas stations around town — all while demanding she find money for drugs. Hamilton became “increasingly agitated” after the woman failed to come up with enough money, the sheriff’s office added.  A day later, on Sept. 11, Hamilton and the woman drove to his place of work at Kelly’s Stone Sand & Boulders. There, Hamilton got out of the woman’s pick-up and took the keys with him. When the woman told him her phone had died calling several people in an effort to borrow money, Hamilton physically assaulted her, deputies said.  Sometime later, Hamilton was seen “laughing hysterically “and smashing the pick-up truck using the bucket of an excavator.
*********Wow… he NEEDED those drugs!!!!

A LIST FOR FRIDAY

15 Things You Should Stock Up Now to Avoid Shortages

But first, don’t give in to the temptation of panic buying. Artificial demand can create supply chain disruption — think the great toilet paper shortage of 2020.

Picking up a few extra items or buying early is a smart way to stock up, though, without emptying store shelves for other shoppers.

  1. Cereal, Bread and Flour

If it’s made out of grain, specifically wheat, it will only get more expensive. The price of grains is soaring due to the war in Ukraine, stressing the world’s wheat supply. So squirrel away a few extra cereal boxes or a big bag of flour for the winter.

  1. Tires

If you know you’re going to need new tires or snow tires, you should buy them soon. There’s a tire shortage looming due to low rubber production impacted both by the pandemic and climate change and Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Manufacturers are also warning that transporting tires through supply lines fast enough to meet demand will be tricky this year due to trucking capacity.

  1. Champagne

Champagne shortages started with a drought affecting the crop in early 2022, and a glass shortage has compounded the issues. Experts anticipate champagne won’t dry up, but it’ll be pricey and scarce. Save the party and stock up now ahead of New Year’s Eve.

  1. Dairy Products

Dairy products have seen steep price increases and periodic shortages in the past year or two. Prices for dairy staples aren’t expected to ease for a few months.

If you see a sale on milk, butter and even certain types of cheese, stock up. You can freeze most dairy products for a month or longer.

  1. Frozen Foods

Convenience meals, specifically freeze-dried veggies, are in higher demand than ever due to their longer shelf life. Consumer appetite has also grown for foods that aren’t affected by local crops or seasonal weather.

If you’ve got a chest freezer, sock away a few extra bags of frozen foods your family uses often.

  1. Christmas Trees

If you experienced the pain of scouting out a fresh Christmas tree during the pandemic, this probably isn’t your year either.

Due to drought, live Christmas trees will remain in short supply. You might want to buy an artificial tree at a discount before the season is in full swing.

  1. Tomato Products

Due to extreme drought, California is struggling to keep the tomato crop from going under this year. That means higher prices for everything tomato, including staples like salsa, marinara sauce, and even ketchup (gasp!).

Toss a few extra bottles of anything tomato into your cart in the coming weeks to see some savings later.

  1. Candy

Talk about scary! Hershey sounded the alarm this summer that Halloween candy supplies might be stressed by cacao shortages and the war in Ukraine.

October is the busiest time of the year for chocolate consumption, driving 10% or more of Hershey’s annual profits. To avoid higher demand at Halloween, grab supplies for trick-or-treaters — and hide or freeze them — now.

  1. Popcorn

When drought hits, farmers must decide which crops to water and which to abandon. Corn isn’t super profitable, but gets prioritized for animal fodder. Popcorn, however, might get the cold shoulder. Combined with increased movie theater attendance, popcorn supplies could be a problem, so tuck away some to snack on later.

  1. Olive Oil

Heat waves in Spain are threatening the olive harvest this year. This means — you guessed it — olive oil supplies are threatened. Get ahead by buying one more bottle of olive oil next time you shop.

Extra-virgin olive oil should be kept in a cool, dark place and stored for up to 20 months.

  1. Peaches

You’re in luck if you’ve got a healthy peach tree in your backyard or access to a local farmer’s supply. Buy these stone fruits as you can and blanch, freeze or can them. The peach crop this year fell victim to a late spring freeze in the South and is leaving some produce aisles bare this season.

  1. Canned Goods

Aluminum shortages mean everything in a can gets more expensive, from beans to beer and soda. Stocking up on canned goods before the price escalates is smart since you can keep them around for years. And it’s an excellent time to replenish that emergency food supply anyway.

  1. Chickpeas

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and climate change mean chickpea crop yields are down by as much as 20% this year, spelling bad news for vegans and hummus lovers everywhere.

Grab canned or dry chickpeas now to avoid the higher prices later but be aware that hummus only keeps a short while in the fridge.

  1. Bottled Water

Because of the global supply chain, shortages in the UK can mean shortages everywhere. Panic buying bottled water strains an already frazzled supply chain and empties shelves.

If you regularly use bottled or distilled water, pick up an extra jug to restock your supplies before they dry up stateside.

  1. Liquor and Beer

Don’t panic, but pretty much everything in a glass bottle or aluminum can is vulnerable to price increases and shortages right now. That includes liquor and beer — and even products you haven’t thought of, like maple syrup.

Replenishing the bar before the holidays hit might help your household avoid the bottleneck.
