Suspect In Lady Gaga’s Dog Walker Case Released By Accident

A man accused of shooting Lady Gaga’s dog walker and stealing her two French bulldogs was released last week, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.  James Howard Jackson, 19, was released from custody Wednesday afternoon shortly after a court appearance because his case was dismissed. His release was due to a “clerical error,” the LASD said in a statement.  The LA County District Attorney’s Office told KNBC-TV late Thursday that the dismissed charges were supposed to have been replaced by a superseding grand jury indictment unsealed during the hearing Wednesday. However, several sources familiar with the court proceedings told the station it appeared the superseding case was not entered against Jackson.  Jackson is one of three men accused of shooting Lady Gaga’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, and stealing her two dogs.  The day before his release, Jackson was indicted for attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a robbery and assault with a semiautomatic firearm, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said in a tweet on Friday.  “Mr. Jackson was mistakenly released from custody by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Our office is working with the Sheriff’s Department to ensure Mr. Jackson is returned to custody,” Gascón said.
******He’ll be the first perp to be prosecuted since Gascon took office!!
*****Meanwhile, Will Smith is walking around free!! How is THAT possible??
******If “professional criminal” is your career choice, L.A. is the place to be!! Or Chicago. Or New York….

Bennifer 2.0 Engaged

Jennifer Lopez has announced she is engaged for the second time to Ben Affleck.  “Major announcement!!!! OnTheJLo.com,” Lopez teased in an Instagram video Friday.  Another video shared via her newsletter showed her casually dressed and tearfully admiring a large green ring on her left hand. She can be heard saying, “You’re perfect.”  Her representative confirmed the couple’s second engagement to People.com.  They first got engaged after a few months of dating in 2002, but canceled their wedding plans in 2004. They began dating again in 2021.  This will be the fourth marriage for Lopez. She shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony.  Affleck was previously married to actress Jennifer Garner, mother of his children — Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.

The Queen Shares Tribute To Prince Philip

Queen Elizabeth has marked the first anniversary of her husband Prince Philip’s death with an emotional tribute.  The Royal Family’s official Twitter account released a video, comprised of a photo montage of the Prince over his long life. Included were photos of him as a baby, as a dashing naval officer, with his four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Perhaps most touching was an old photo of Philip leaning over his wife’s shoulder with their faces close together.  It ended with a recent black and white photo of the Duke tipping his hat as if to say goodbye.  Accompanying it was a reading of the poem “The Patriarchs – An Elegy” by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage.  See the video HERE.
********Now that he’s in heaven, he wants to be known simply as “Prince,” but that was already taken!!
*******Prince Andrew was also mentioned, as “the sperm I’d like to recall!!”
******Even now, when the Queen thinks of Phillip, she almost slides off the throne!!

Will Smith Gets 10 Year Ban From Academy

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has banned Will Smith from all Academy events for 10 years for slapping Chris Rock during this year’s show.  “The Board of Governors has decided, for a period of 10 years, from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards,” they announced Friday.  The statement continued, “We want to express our deep gratitude to Mr. Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances. We also want to thank our hosts, nominees, presenters and winners for their poise and grace during our telecast.”  He will keep his Oscar for his role in “King Richard.”  Ahead of the official decision, Smith himself resigned from the Academy last week, which originally meant he gave up the right to vote, but would continue to be nominated, attend and keep his current award.  Will Smith has responded to the Academy’s decision to ban him from events for a decade.  “I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” he said in a brief statement.
*****The cruel part?? He has to go back in ten years!!

Dancing With The Stars Moves To Streaming Only

Dancing with the Stars” is moving away from its home at ABC and over to streaming service Disney+.   It will be on Disney+, ABC’s corporate sibling, starting this fall in the U.S. and Canada, the company announced Friday.  It will be the first live series on Disney+, stated Kareem Daniel, chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, in a press release.  The streaming service currently features content from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, original Disney animated movies, as well as original content.  “Get the Mirrorball ready,” a tweet from Disney+read. “Dancing with the Stars is moving to a new home when it returns this fall as the first LIVE series on #DisneyPlus! #DWTS.”  The show, which first debuted on ABC in 2005, pairs celebrities with trained dancers to compete in weekly themed dance routines.  Last season’s finale boasted 6.8 million viewers and was hosted by Tyra Banks. During the fall 2021 season, the show was ranked among the top 5 unscripted series with adults 18-49.  The platform switch comes as ABC looks ahead to NFL games next season that will air on Monday night, the time period that has belonged to “Dancing With the Stars.”
*******Now that it’s on Disney +, half the dancers will be transgenders!!
******Boba Fett is one of the first “stars” to sign up!!

One Last Thing:  Chris Pine-(People)

The actor, 41, stars in two new films:  The Contractor and Amazon Prime’s All the Old Knives

Last text that made me laugh-  My buddy sent me a text message where he was talking about something very serious, but he was a giraffe.  You know, those talking emoji things?  It killed me.

Last time you were starstruck-  I was shooting Jack Ryan in London years ago at the same time Bruce Willis was shooting Red.  He was having a party, so I went and ended up standing in a doorway with Bruce, Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton-which was essentially my childhood.  All I wanted to do was listen so I could tell the story later.

Last fashion disaster-  After I shot Wonder Woman, I’d gone off to an Italian island by myself for two weeks.  I saw a photo where I was wearing these blue-and-white overalls, red Vans, a little teeny bamboo hat and big sunglasses.  There was a lot happening.

The Transportation Security Administration said a traveler at a Boston airport security checkpoint was shocked to learn his cane contained a sword.  TSA New England tweeted a photo showing the sword cane that had been brought to Logan Airport by an oblivious passenger.  The TSA said in a statement that the passenger had recently purchased the cane and had been unaware that it contained a sword until it was examined by security personnel.  The passenger turned the sword cane over to Massachusetts State Police and was cleared to catch his flight to New York, the TSA said.  See the pic HERE.

“Beer” Hits Homerun On “Beer Day”

Seth Beer, a rookie on the Arizona Diamondbacks, hit a game-winning home run to defeat the San Diego Padres on National Beer Day.  Beer’s homer on Thursday gave the Diamondbacks a 4-2 victory on opening day, causing fans in attendance to chant his name as he ran the bases.  “It was a surreal feeling. It’s still a dream,” Beer told ESPN.  “Hold my Beer,” the Twitter account for the Diamondbacks said alongside photos of the moment and Beer celebrating with his teammates.  The team’s Instagram account also paid homage to the moment by uploading a video of the home run with audio of professional wrestling legend Stone Cold Steve Austin, a known beer drinker.  National Beer Day celebrates the day a law went into effect in 1933 that allowed the brewing and sale of beer up to 4% alcohol by volume.
*********Was he wearing his “beer goggles?”
********If you’re looking for a sign that you should be drinking, this is it!!
****The only question for MLB is, “Did God intend for beer to be $10??”

Bigfoot Lawn Ornament Goes Missing

Police are investigating the theft of a 7-foot-tall metal sasquatch lawn ornament from a home in southern Michigan.  The item crafted from sheet metal was stolen from a home in St. Joseph County’s Park Township on or after March 22, Michigan State Police said.  It has a rusty brown color with various sharp edges to resemble the fur of the mythical, ape-like bigfoot.  It appeared the sasquatch was cut away from a steel post with a pair of bolt cutters or a similar instrument, police said.  A white panel van with dark driver- and passenger-side windows was observed parked in the area.

6 Things You Didn’t Learn In School That Are Costing You Thousands/Year

The Penny Hoarder

  1. Grow Your Money 16x Faster — Without Risking Any of It

Here’s a simple lesson we’ll expand on: You’ve probably heard one of the best ways to grow your money is to stick it in a savings account and leave it there for, well, ever. But that’s not always the best strategy.

If you’re just looking for a place to safely stash it away — but still earn money — under your mattress or in a safe will get you nothing. And a typical savings account won’t do you much better. (Ahem, 0.06% is nothing these days.)  But a debit card called Aspiration lets you earn up to 5% cash back and up to 16 times the average interest on the money in your account.  Not too shabby!

Enter your email address here to get a free Aspiration Spend and Save account. After you confirm your email, securely link your bank account so they can start helping you get extra cash. Your money is FDIC insured, and they use a military-grade encryption, which is nerd talk for “this is totally safe.”

  1. Spend $1 to Own a Piece of Amazon, Google or Other Companies

Here’s something to study: Take a look at the Forbes Richest People list, and you’ll notice almost all the billionaires have one thing in common — they own a company.

But if you work for a living and don’t happen to have millions of dollars lying around, that can sound totally out of reach.  That’s why a lot of people use automated micro-investing apps like Stash. It lets you be a part of something that’s normally exclusive to the richest of the rich — buying pieces of other companies for as little as $1.*

That’s right — you can invest in pieces of well-known companies, such as Amazon, Google or Apple, for as little as $1. The best part? When these companies profit, so can you. Some companies even send you a check every quarter for your share of the profits, called dividends.  It takes two minutes to sign up, plus Stash will give you a $5 sign-up bonus once you deposit $5 into your account. Subscription plans start at $1 a month.**

  1. Knock Up To $715/Year Off Your Car Insurance in Minutes

When was the last time you compared car insurance rates? Chances are you’re seriously overpaying with your current policy.

If it’s been more than six months since your last car insurance quote, you should look again.  And if you look through a digital marketplace called SmartFinancial, you could be getting rates as low as $22 a month — and saving yourself more than $700 a year.

It takes one minute to get quotes from multiple insurers, so you can see all the best rates side-by-side. Yep — in just one minute you could save yourself $715 this year. That’s some major cash back in your pocket.

So if you haven’t checked car insurance rates in a while, see how much you can save with a new policy.

  1. Secure Up to $1 Million in Life Insurance; Rates Start at Just $16/Month

Have you thought about how your family would manage without your income after you’re gone? How will they pay the bills? Send the kids through school? Now’s a good time to start planning for the future by looking into a term life insurance policy.

You’re probably thinking: I don’t have the time or money for that.  But here’s a lesson for the long term: Your application can take minutes — and you could leave your family up to $1 million with a company called Bestow.

Rates start at just $16 a month. The peace of mind knowing your family is taken care of is priceless.   If you’re under the age of 54 and want to get a fast life insurance quote without a medical exam or even getting up from the couch, get a free quote from Bestow.

  1. Earn Cash While Watching Cooking Videos Online

We remember watching a lot of videos in school. The teacher would turn on a video to buy time to grade papers while we watched it. But what if we told you that you could get paid to watch videos on your computer?

It’s too good to be true, right?

But we’re serious. A website called InboxDollars will pay you to watch short video clips online. One minute you might watch someone bake brownies and the next you might get the latest updates on Kardashian drama.

All you have to do is choose which videos you want to watch and answer a few quick questions about them afterward.  No, InboxDollars won’t replace your full-time job, but it’s something easy you can do while you’re already on the couch tonight wasting time on your phone.  Unlike other sites, InboxDollars pays you in cash — no points or gift cards. It’s already paid its users more than $56 million.

It takes about one minute to sign up, and you’ll immediately get a $5 bonus to get you started.

  1. You Don’t Have to Pay Your Credit Card Bill This Month

If you have credit card debt, you know. The anxiety, the interest rates, the fear you’re never going to escape…  And the truth is, your credit card company doesn’t really care. It’s just getting rich by ripping you off with high interest rates. But a website called AmOne wants to help.

If you owe your credit card companies $50,000 or less, AmOne will match you with a low-interest loan you can use to pay off every single one of your balances.  The benefit? You’ll be left with one bill to pay each month. And because personal loans have lower interest rates (AmOne rates start at 3.99% APR), you’ll get out of debt that much faster. Plus: No credit card payment this month.  AmOne keeps your information confidential and secure, which is probably why after 20 years in business, it still has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

It takes two minutes to see if you qualify for up to $50,000 online. You do need to give AmOne a real phone number in order to qualify, but don’t worry — they won’t spam you with phone calls.
