William and Harry Reunite And Prince Philip’s Funeral

Princes Harry and William fueled speculation of a royal reconciliation at Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday as they were spotted exiting St. George’s Chapel together, side-by-side.  It was caught on camera after the send-off to the Duke of Edinburgh took place at Windsor Castle, with Queen Elizabeth II and various members of the royal family.  The reunion took place after more than a year of tension between the dukes, first reportedly spawned by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure as senior members of the royal family. The family rift appeared to heighten just last month, following Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.   The ceremonial royal funeral was one that the Duke of Edinburgh helped plan prior to his death. The ceremony, code-named Operation Forth Bridge, was limited to 30 attendees.  The Queen was joined by the four children she shared with Prince Philip — Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward — as well as Charles’s wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Anne’s husband Timothy Laurence and Edward’s wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex.  In addition to Princes William and Harry, the rest of Philip’s eight grandchildren — Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn — also were in attendance.  Harry did not walk alongside his brother William during the procession. The two joined family members in walking behind their grandfather’s casket with their cousin Peter Philips walking in between them.  Harry traveled solo earlier this week to attend the funeral as his wife Meghan stayed back in California with their almost 2-year-old son Archie. She is expecting her second child, a girl due this summer. She was advised by a physician not to travel.  Philip’s celebration of life marked the first time Harry came face-to-face publicly with the royal family since he and his wife stepped away from royal duties. The event also symbolized the first time Harry would see his family since Winfrey’s interview — viewed by nearly 50 million people globally — aired on March 7th.

DMX Memorial To Be Held In Brooklyn

DMX’s manager Steve Rifkind has announced that a memorial will be held for the late rapper on April 24 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  It is unclear if members of the public will be invited to participate or if it will be limited to only the music artist’s family and friends.  Many venues in New York remain closed altogether or opened only for limited capacity due to the coronavirus pandemic.  A private funeral for DMX is expected to be held in the New York City area on April 25th.  Born Earl Simmons, the hip-hop star died last week at White Plains Hospital in New York after being placed on life support, following a drug overdose and heart attack. He was 50.

Sharon Osbourne Dishes On The Talk

Sharon Osbourne broke her silence about her departure from The Talk last month on Friday’s edition of Real Time with Bill Maher.  “I’ve been called so many things in my life. I am so used to being called names, but a ‘racist’ is one I will not take,” Osbourne said, to which Maher replied, “It’s an insult if you’re not one.”  “I’m doing just fine,” Osbourne said. “What about the people that are cut from the knees down who can’t afford to get lessons now on what’s politically correct? What happens to them? It’s not fair. It isn’t about being a racist. It’s maybe not knowing what is correct and woke for your language that day. It changes from day to day what is correct.”  During Maher’s chat with Osbourne, he laughed as he categorized the disagreement as “the tragic events of 3/10.”  “On your ironically titled show, The Talk, you were talking and, if there is one lesson from this, it’s that’s not allowed any more,” Maher joked. “On your show, I don’t think anything happened.”
********We wish HE’D stop talking!! But… no such luck!!

Mossimo Giannulli — who was allowed to serve the final days of his five-month sentence under house arrest — has completed the brief stint for his role in bribing schools on behalf of his children as part of a larger college admissions scandal.  According to federal inmate records obtained by People, Giannulli, was officially released Friday, one day ahead of his April 17 release date.   Daughters Olivia Jade, 21, and Isabella “Bella” Rose Giannulli, 22, along with his 30-year-old son from another marriage, Gianni Giannulli, went together to pick their dad up last Friday from a federal prison outside Santa Barbara, Gianni.

Paris Hilton Has PTSD From Sex Tape

Paris Hilton says the aftermath of her infamous sex tape has left her with “PTSD.”  “That will always be something that will hurt me for the rest of my life,” the socialite and former reality star said during a Vanity Fair Cocktail Hour, Live! chat on Thursday.  “It’s always there in the back of my mind. When it happened, people were so mean about it to me. The way that I was spoken about on nightly talk shows and the media, to see things with my family was just heartbreaking. I would be in tears every single day, I didn’t want to leave my house, I felt like my life was over.”  The tape was released by Hilton’s ex-boyfriend, poker player Rick Salomon in 2004. Titled “1 Night in Paris,” it showed footage of the pair having sex in 2001 — and it caused a media sensation.  Hilton had to hold back tears on the chat this week as she recalled the experience.  “It was a private experience between two people. You love someone, you trust someone and to have your trust betrayed like that and for the whole world to be watching and laughing … It was even more hurtful to me to have these people think that I did this on purpose — that killed me,” she said. “It still gives me post-traumatic stress disorder to talk about it.”
********Well, she DID make a lot of money off of that tape!!! Fame = money!!

He was 84.   His friend of more than 40 years and former co-star on NBC’s “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” Gil Gerard announced the news on Twitter.   “Felix died just a few hours ago and the only good I can draw from his passing is that he didn’t suffer any longer,” he wrote. “I will miss him terribly, especially the great time we had at our panels. Just him telling me to, ‘go ‘f’ myself.'”   In a previous tweet, Gerard said that Silla was dying of pancreatic cancer.  He also appeared in “Buck Rogers” as Twiki the robot sidekick, a hang-gliding Ewok in the 1983 “Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi,” and the villain Livak opposite George Segal in the 1975 film — and sequel to “The Maltese Falcon” —  “The Black Bird.”

Gwen & Blake’s Food Fight Eats Away At Their Future-(National Enquirer)

Singing sweethearts Gwen Stephani and Blake Shelton are facing a rocky road to the altar, snitched sources, who said the pigheaded pair keep butting heads as they struggle to agree on details about their big day!  A tipster says opposites may attract, but the country crooner, 44, and the pop star, 51, are “fretting over” everything when it comes to their “I dos!”  He wants a simple barbecue buffet with fried chicken, beans and corn on the cob.  She wants food stations, like sushi over here and Italian over there,” spilled the insider.  “He wants a country band, and she’s demanding disco and rock music and a DJ.”

Firth Not First For Killer Role-(Globe)

Colin Firth, 60, wasn’t first choice to star in HBO Max’s upcoming eight-episode limited series “The Staircase”. Based on the titillating true-crime documentary by the same name!  Originally, Harrison Ford, 78, had been attached to play Nashville-born novelist Michael Peterson, now 77, accused of killing his second wife, Kathleen, in 2001.  “It’s been a long and winding road, but well worth the wait to be able to find partners like HBO Max……and the incredible Colin Firth,” gushes the series’ exec producer.  And in case this murder case sounds somewhat familiar, Lifetime produced a 2007 TV flick about the same riveting case-with Treat Williams, 69, taking the lead and killing it!

“Where are you keeping the fountain of youth?  Why do you look the same as you did in 2003 and it kind of looks like I’m in my 40s……at best?”-On ex Jennifer Lopez’s ability to defy age, Ben Affleck.

Garden Gnome Shortage

Garden stores in Britain are facing a garden gnome shortage, and industry experts said the recent blockage of the Suez canal is partially to blame.  Ian Byrne, assistant manager of Highfield Garden World in Whitminster, Gloucestershire, said COVID-19 lockdowns led to a boom in sales of gnome statues and other gardening supplies.  He said the increased demand mixed with a shortage of raw materials attributed to the recent blocking of the Suez canal by the cargo ship Ever Given has made garden gnomes increasingly difficult to find.  “We haven’t seen a gnome in six months now, unfortunately,” Byrne told The Guardian.  “Raw materials are becoming a bit of an issue and unfortunately gnomes are a victim of that shortage of supply. Gnomes of any type, plastic, stone or concrete, are in short supply,” he said.  Figures from Britain’s National Office of Statistics confirmed sales at DIY stores and garden centers spiked in 2020.

Bird Drops Fish On Passing Truck

A truck driver’s dashboard camera captured an unusual event on a North Carolina highway when a bird passing by overhead dropped a fish onto the vehicle’s windshield.  The video, shared by Ward Transport, shows one of the company’s vehicles traveling on a Charlotte highway when a bird shows up traveling the opposite direction with a fish in its talons.  The bird drops the fish, which smacks against the truck’s windshield, leaving a wet spot in its wake.  “One of our Charlotte drivers verifies that when driving a truck, you must be prepared for anything,” Ward Transport tweeted.  The company said the truck was not damaged and the driver was not injured.  See the video HERE.

Singer Hits Lowest Note

A British Columbia, Canada, singer broke a Guinness World Record when she managed to sing a C1 note — the lowest C note on a standard piano — and captured the title of lowest vocal note by a female.  Joy Chapman, of Surrey, said she has always had a wide vocal range, leading to her often being tapped to sing the male portions of songs.  “Because I could sing so low, I was the resident male. But I could also sing very high as well,” Chapman told CBC News.  She said her niece encouraged her to go for the world record after discovering the previous lowest note sang by a female was a D2, the second-lowest D note on a piano.  “I start my singing scales at C2. So she said, ‘you sing much lower, you should try for the record,'” Chapman said.  She said it took several attempts to break the record, after facing problems including the low-emitter on the microphone failing to pick up her low notes. Chapman posted a video to YouTube showing the moment she broke the record.  See the video HERE.

Giant Bear Goes For Long Walk

A life-size teddy bear on a quest to walk the more than 400 miles from Los Angeles to San Francisco said his journey has been fraught with obstacles — including a brief run-in with the law.  Jesse Lasios, who goes by the name Bearsun when he dons his teddy bear costume, said he had no goal in mind when he decided to take Bearsun for the long walk between the California cities.  “I’m like a puppy, I guess. I just see something, and I chase after it,” Larios told CNN. He said the walk sounded like a fun adventure.   Larios, who successfully ran a marathon in 2020 while dressed as Bearsun, was approached by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department during his walk on Tuesday.  “This was a bear-y unique situation. You may have seen a large teddy bear walking through town. One of our deputies got to meet the individual inside the bear & learned his goal is to complete a walk from Los Angeles to San Francisco. We wish him the best of luck on his adventure,” the sheriff’s office tweeted.  Larios said the deputy only wanted to make sure he was safe and hydrated.

21 Little Tidying Tasks Professional Organizers Do Every Single Day

Huffington Post

Make the bed

“I make my bed every morning. It really is the biggest bang-for-your-buck tidying activity you can do. The bed is the dominant feature in the bedroom so if it is made, then the entire space looks calmer. And all it takes is 30 seconds!” ― Sarah Giller Nelson, founder of Less Is More Organizing

“Making my bed every morning is a habit instilled in me by my mom at a young age. The day doesn’t feel ready to begin until I’ve done that. There is also the mindfulness aspect to this. When we pay attention to the cycle of things, we can focus on and enjoy the process of what we’re doing. … Pay attention to smoothing the sheets, fluffing the pillows, feeling the fabric, getting yourself and your bedroom ready for the day. At night, you pull down the covers and slip into bed for a good night’s sleep. You rest more peacefully and better when you enter a bed that is sleep-ready.” ― Linda Samuels, professional organizer at Oh, So Organized

Deal with the mail

“When I bring in the mail, I deal with it right away: recycle junk; file statements (yup, I still get some in paper); put to-dos into my follow-up system (I hate the word ‘tickler file’); put magazines into a tray on the coffee table to read later; leave other nonurgent mail in a tray with a cheery paperweight that says ‘Cheers’ to be dealt with when I have time.” ― Lisa Zaslow, professional organizer at Gotham Organizers

“If you open your mail each day it only takes a few minutes, but if you wait weeks you’re going to have piles and piles of paper which becomes overwhelming. I open the mail, open any packages, fill out return labels and repack anything not being kept. I throw away any periodicals that have been replaced with a new issue ― I discard daily periodicals daily, weekly periodicals weekly, and monthly periodicals monthly.” ― Barbara Reich, professional organizer at Life Organized

Organize groceries

“I update my grocery inventory list on my fridge, so I know exactly what I need to buy if I stop at the store.” ― Pooja Naik, organizing consultant at Organizing With You, Inc.

“I put away groceries and dry goods and throw away any food in the refrigerator that’s past its expiration date.” ― Reich

“One small tidying task I do every day is keeping my refrigerator clean and organized.” ― Nicole Arroyo, professional organizer at Neatly Nic

Keep the bathroom in order

“When I’m finished showering, I clear grooming supplies off of the counter, put dirty clothes in the hamper, and hang my towel on the rod.” ― Seana Turner, founder of The Seana Method

“I put my beauty products back in their home after use to leave a clear bathroom sink.” ― Jeni Aron, professional organizer at Clutter Cowgirl

“Other small daily tidying tasks include removing hair from the shower drain trap, hanging up towels (nicely), wiping down the sink and bathroom surfaces.” ― Samuels

Wipe down the shower after use

“I wipe the shower after showering to prevent mildew and grout discoloration.” ― Jeffrey Phillip, professional organizer and interior designer

“I wipe down the glass shower door after my shower.” ― Turner

Pick up toys

“Put away all the kids’ toys (they can help with this and should). Basically, reset the house so that it’s good to go when we awake the next day, ensuring a smooth as possible start.” ― Beth Penn, professional organizer at Bneato Bar

Put clothes away

“Clothes can make any space look way worse than it actually is. So keep a hamper for dirty clothes and towels and avoid leaving these things on the floor, in chairs, on the bed, etc. Only wash as many clothes as you have time to put away immediately. Try not to let laundry baskets stay full. Note: There are laundry baskets that flatten so they can be more easily stored.” ― Carolyn Rogers, professional organizing consultant at Neat Nerd Solutions

“I never go to sleep with my clothing on the floor. I have a rule that I get undressed in my closet, so I can immediately put things into the laundry, fold them, or hang them and they don’t hit the floor. Like anything else, avoided clothing can become big, messy mounds which are overwhelming to deal with.” ― Tova Weinstock, professional organizer at Tidy Tova

“Pick up clothes laying around the house. Or better yet, don’t put clothes anywhere they aren’t supposed to go. Hang up coats, put laundry in the bin and put clothes in the closet or drawers.” ― Melissa Levy, founder of Declutter + Design

Clear surfaces

“Clear off countertops. Surfaces take a beating, whether it’s mail, homework or other paperwork, it often gets put down and forgotten. So do lots of other things throughout the day. Taking 10 minutes at the end of the day or 30 at the end of the week to target clearing off surfaces will help you stay on top of the clutter.” ― Levy

“Maintain clear surfaces and countertops. Countertops are actually the hidden workhorses of the home. Keeping them neat and clear goes a long way. When they are not being used, a clear surface reads as clean, open and airy. When needed, it becomes a drop zone, baking area, desk or even a game night centerpiece.” ― Dina Smith, professional organizer at Closet Therapy with Dina

Tidy pillows and blankets

“I fluff and fix pillows and cushions on the couch before bed.” ― Phillip

“I neatly fold throws on the couch and fluff pillows. Less than a minute, and the living room feels refreshed.” ― Zaslow

Wash and put away the dishes

“I always make sure that all of the dishes are clean before I go to sleep. That way, when I go in to make my coffee each morning, I am greeted by a clean, calm space.” ― Nelson

“I often laugh and tell people that the major characteristic of living an organized life is frequently walking around and putting things away. I do this continually all day long, and particularly when I finish using a space. For example, after eating, I put dirty dishes in the dishwasher, return the food containers to the pantry or fridge, throw out any trash, and push in my chair.” ― Turner

“Sometimes I leave dirty dishes but never without soaking them in water. I think it’s OK to leave a few dirty dishes at night, but I always make sure to leave them soaking in water. There’s nothing more frustrating than wasting time scraping off food scraps when it can be so easily avoided.” ― Weinstock

Clean out bags

“I always empty my bag at the end of the day and then prepare it for the next day. I throw away any garbage, wash food containers, and make sure the items I need for the following day are packed and ready to go. This daily practice saves me a ton of time the following morning and keeps my bag clear of becoming a garbage disposal ― I’ve seen lots of those in my work with clients.” ― Weinstock

“I put my keys back in my purse. There’s a lot that’s uncertain in life. It’s comforting to always know where your keys are! And extremely frustrating when you have to spend time looking for them.” ― Zaslow

Organize papers

“I stack papers neatly if they can’t be filed or discarded right away and must remain in plain sight.” ― Rogers

“I look at my papers every day, so bills, RSVPs, important messages don’t get ignored. I have a proven system for paper organization!” ― Naik

Wash face masks

“For the past year I’ve added these steps: Wash my hands and hang up my mask to be washed later. I wash masks so they’re clean and ready for tomorrow.” ― Zaslow

Put items where they belong

“Most of my ‘tidy tasks’ happen through the day and it’s all about putting away what I take out and use as I finish using it. At the very end of the day, I do one final sweep to clear my desk, the sofa, the kitchen counters. My rule: If I take it out, I have to put it back.” ― Regina Lark, professional organizer at A Clear Path

“At night, I corral my remote controls to the center of the family room table, fold and hang the blanket on the back of the chair, and straighten the pillows. The goal for me is to leave a space the way I want it to be when I return. This means not only looking tidy, but more importantly in such a state that it is ready to function. I rarely leave a room without making sure the surfaces are clear and my supplies are tucked away exactly where I have decided they will live.” ― Turner

“I return any activity items ― work related, hobby related, etc ― to their proper zones in the home and/or proper containers each night before bed.” ― Kellie Powell, lead professional organizer and COO of Dexterous Organizing

“Put things away in their designated place when you’re done using them. Make sure that there is easy access to things that are used frequently. Having to pull out multiple things to reach something at the back increases the chances that it won’t all be put away properly or at all.” ― Rogers

Keep shoes in the entryway

“I maintain a shoe-free home. The rule of thumb is, ‘If you are willing to mop, you can feel free to wear your shoes inside.’ Removing shoes cuts down on cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, and lowers the number of germs and bacteria in the home. It also shifts your mood and mindset from outside to ‘home.’” ― Smith

“I tidy the entry area ― shoes away, coats and accessories hung or put away, etc.” ― Phillip

Clean one specific area

“Cleaning precedes organizing in most cases, and they go hand in hand. So I try to thoroughly clean one area of my home every day. This is so much easier than having to set aside a whole lot of time to do major cleaning for the entire home. … I pick an area and try to tidy up with a timer. No more than 5 minutes, but I try to be consistent. When you take baby steps at a time with organizing, it makes it more enjoyable and will provide the momentum needed to keep going as opposed to taking on too much at once and then not going back because it felt grueling. I even recommend setting a timer for organizing, like 5 or 10 minutes and stopping when the timer goes off. The important thing is to do the little things each day.” ― Naik

Discard trash and unwanted items

“When something becomes trash, put it in the trash. It sounds simple, but debris adds to visual and physical clutter. Staying on top of things that need to be discarded is a great way to keep things tidy. One tip is to keep a shopping bag for donation in your closet. When you notice something needs to be donated you have a place for it. When it gets full, take it out and open another bag.” ― Smith

“I purge a clothing item if I try it on and it’s not a great fit for me. Putting it back in the drawer is only leaving me to make the same decision in the future.” ― Aron

Remove things from the floor

“I adhere to the rule that the floor is not for storage. At the end of the day, I do a walk through of my home to pick up and put away anything that might have been placed on the floor.” ― Nelson

Organize the desk

“When I’m at my desk, I tend to work messy! Throughout the day I put pens, pencils and markers back in the (not too full!) pen cup on my desk. This is surprisingly satisfying! It’s like a mini break that instantly creates some clear space and helps me focus.” ― Zaslow

Do anything that takes less than five minutes

“Anything that takes less than five minutes to complete, I do it right away. Think about the time it takes you to add it to your to-do list and the action could be almost completed in that time!” ― Julie Naylon, professional organizer at No Wire Hangers

Prepare for the next day

“I prepare for the next day ― plan what I’m going to wear, what I need to take with me when I leave the house, and what I will eat. Thinking about this ahead of time means that I’m rarely caught unprepared.” ― Reich

“Before going to bed I make sure everything is ready to start the next day. This could include doing the dishes and making sure the kitchen is clean.” ― Naylon

“I keep a notebook of errands and to-do items instead of lots of little scraps of paper. One cohesive notebook focuses my brain and allows me to refer back to past tasks from previous days if I need to.” ― Aron
