Anne Heche No Longer Under Investigation

The police investigation into the fiery car crash that tragically claimed Anne Heche’s life will not move forward.  The LAPD said in a statement Saturday, “As of today, there will be no further investigative efforts made in this case. Any information or records that have been requested prior to this turn of events will still be collected as they arrive as a matter of formalities and included in the overall case.  When a person suspected of a crime expires, we do not present for filing consideration.”  LAPD sources previously told TMZ that her blood test results had come up positive for both cocaine and fentanyl.  However, they explained that the latter could have been due to medication she was given at the hospital to help manage her pain after the accident.  Soon after, a rep for Anne says that she was “not expected to survive” as she “suffered a severe anoxic brain injury.”  Heche never regained consciousness and was declared dead just days later.  She is survived by her 13-year-old son Atlas with Canadian actor James Tupper and a 20-year-old son, Homer, with her ex-husband, Coleman Laffoon.
**********They always let dead people off!! This is why they all vote for Democrats!!

Is Martha Stewart Moving In On Pete Davidson?

Martha Stewart is squashing a rather silly rumor that she and Pete Davidson may have sparked up a romance following his split from Kim Kardashian.  “Pete Davidson is like the son I never had,” Stewart gushed to The Daily Mail when asked if she could be his next lover.  “He is a charming boy who is finding his way. I’ve invited him to come on my podcast and I look forward to hearing what he has to say.”  The gossip began after a photo of Stewart sweetly holding Davidson’s hand as she posed for a photo with him and Kardashian during April’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner went viral following Pete and Kim’s breakup.  “We should’ve seen this coming,” wrote one Twitter user who shared the snap in question.  Stewart previously shared her support of the couple, telling E! News back in May that they were “cute together,” despite being an “unlikely pairing.”  “They seem to have a nice affection for one another, which is so nice,” she added at the time.  See the pic HERE.

Could KFed Be In Trouble For Posting Videos About Britney?

An attorney for Britney Spears is speaking out against a series of videos posted by her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.  Federline posted to Instagram multiple videos that he said were filmed by Spears’ sons several years ago in which she appears to have verbal disagreements and uses harsh language with her two children. The videos have since been removed from the social media platform, but they were published by TMZ. In a statement to CNN, Spears’ attorney said they are “working with Instagram to ensure that Mr. Federline adheres to its rules, and we are exploring all appropriate relief against him.”  “Whether he realizes it or not, Mr. Federline has not only violated the privacy and dignity of the mother of his children, he has undermined his own children, whose privacy he should protect,” Mathew Rosengart, Spears’ attorney said. “Mr. Federline’s ill-advised decision to post an old video of his 11 and 12-year-old children was cruel, bottom of the barrel stuff.”  Federline had said in his post that his family chose to share the videos to illustrate why they have more recently distanced themselves from Spears.

FBI Says Alec Baldwin Pulled The Trigger

The feds have all but concluded actor Alec Baldwin must have fired the weapon on the set of the movie “Rust” that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, according to a bombshell report.  According to an FBI forensic report obtained by ABC News, the gun delivering the fatal bullet in the Oct. 21 shooting on the New Mexico set “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger.”  Baldwin, the star and producer of the Western film, claimed he believed he was handling a “cold gun” without live ammunition when it went off and a live bullet hit Hutchins, killing her. The film’s director, Joel Souza, was wounded in the incident.  In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos last December, Baldwin insisted he didn’t fire the weapon.  “The trigger wasn’t pulled,” he said. “I didn’t pull the trigger.”  Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who was in charge of all weapons on the “Rust” set, could not be reached for comment.  The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, which is heading the homicide investigation, received the report and other FBI documents related to the shooting earlier this month, the sheriff’s office told ABC News.

JLo Sends Support To Britney

Jennifer Lopez is showing her support for Britney Spears amid her public feud with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.  She took to her Instagram Story on Friday night to re-share a post from Spears that featured a quote from the Marry Me actress, along with a photo of the pair at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001.  “Stay strong,” Lopez captioned a screenshot of Spears’ since-deleted Instagram post from Friday, in which the singer discussed “independence” and “equality.”  “In a world where you have the right to use your feet … heart … mouth … eyes … and body… to express yourself however you may !!! Declaration of INDEPENDENCE … for equality and to be equal !!! Not even touching, covering, and holding me against my will for 4 months !!!” Spears wrote alongside a video of herself dancing.  She continued, “As Jennifer Lopez once said, ’You look right down that camera and tell every little girl in the world to get loud and never ever back down to giving light to injustice ‘ !!! I’m here to share that freedom is a state of mind !!! GOD BLESS U ALL Psss I shot this today !!!” Lopez also left three heart emojis in the comments section of Spears’ post.

Brad’s Fresh Start-(Star)

Now that’s a view!  Brad Pitt is moving on up the California coast.  The Bullet Train actor recently shelled out $40 million for a sandstone-and-granite castle in the town of Carmel-by-the-Sea, 300-plus-miles north of L.A.  Built in 1918 for a Kansas City businessman, the property was designed to resemble King Arthur’s legendary birthplace, Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, England, and sits atop a buff above the Pacific Ocean.  Carmel, which counts Clint Eastwood as a former mayor, prides itself on being a place of refuge and privacy.  For the 58-year-old, it’s ideal for having quality time with his kids with Angela Jolie.

Drunk Bear Rescued

Officials in Turkey said a young brown bear was rescued after being found disoriented and intoxicated from consuming a large amount of hallucinogenic honey.  The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said the bear was found disoriented in Duzce Province on Thursday and was captured by wildlife officials.  The bear was examined by veterinarians and found to be intoxicated after ingesting a large amount of honey made from the nectar of an indigenous species of rhododendron.  The honey, known as “mad honey,” contains grayanotoxin, a neurotoxin that produces hallucinogenic effects when consumed by mammals.   The ministry said the bear is in good health and will eventually be returned to the wild. It asked social media users to help come up with a name for the intoxicated bear.  See the video HERE.

Lost Ram Adopted By Fire Station

A Washington state fire department rounded up a loose ram and the animal is being kept at the station until the owner can be found.  Graham Fire & Rescue said the ram turned up this week in a firefighter’s back yard and the department decided to give it a temporary home with its two goats.  “Animal control said they could come get it in a few days, but they said they’d probably end up putting it down,” Graham Fire & Rescue Capt. Andrew Kolabis told KING-TV. “We’re already set up for animals like that, so it seemed like a pretty natural thing to just grab it and rehome it here and try to find its owner.”  The department said the ram is getting along well with the goats while officials try to find its owner. Kolabis said firefighters haven’t given the animal a name.  “We’ve just been calling it the ‘Graham Ram,'” Kolabis said. “I think out of maybe out of fear of attachment we haven’t given him a name yet.”
********Let’s go all the way and call it “L.A. Ram!!” (Unless you’re Seahawks fans!!)

Suspect Hides In Giant Teddy Bear

A teenager in the United Kingdom wanted in connection with a stolen car was caught hiding from police in a giant stuffed teddy bear, police revealed Wednesday.   Joshua Dobson, 18, was arrested last month near Manchester on charges of motor vehicle theft, driving while disqualified, and leaving a gas station without paying, police said.  Police searched for Dobson at a home in Rochdale where they found him hiding in a “bear-y” peculiar place.  “When we went to arrest him, our officers noticed a large bear breathing in the address before finding Dobson inside,” police said. Dobson was officially sentenced last week on the charges and will spend nine months in prison, Rochdale authorities said.  The department quipped: “Hopefully he has a bearable time inside.”

Florida Woman Arrested For Call Cops Too Many Times

A Florida woman is accused of calling police more than 11,000 times this year, including 512 times during one day in July, authorities said.  Carla Michelle Jefferson, 51, of St. Petersburg, was arrested Monday and charged with a misdemeanor charge of making harassing telephone calls, according to Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.  She called the St. Petersburg Police Emergency Communications Center 512 times from 4:30 p.m. EDT on July 2 until 4:30 p.m. the following day.  The affidavit stated that Jefferson “continuously calls and harasses, belittles, swears at, argues with, and demands officers (to) come arrest her.”  At the time, Jefferson was out on bail after she was arrested on June 30 for making excessive telephone calls to the St. Petersburg Police Department’s nonemergency line, the Tampa Bay Times reported. Police said she accounted for 10% of the department’s call volume to the nonemergency line, the Times reported.

How to Save on Gas: 20 Ways to Ease the Pain at the Pump

The Penny Hoarder

  1. Use Apps to Find the Cheapest Gas

You don’t want to buy gas at one place and then come across a station with cheaper fuel just down the street. Several websites and apps tell you the price of gasoline at the stations in your area. GasBuddy and Waze are popular options.  Look for the cheapest gas stations along any of the routes you normally drive for work or shopping. Don’t wait until your tank is near empty and be forced to buy gas wherever is closest.

The price of gas can vary significantly across state lines, so if you’re planning a trip, check where prices are lower throughout your route. Avoid getting gas at stations just off a highway exit or in the middle of a major city — stations in those locations tend to charge more than ones a little more out of the way.

  1. Skip the Premium Option

Higher-octane gas isn’t necessary or beneficial in most cars, so you’re just spending more money when you buy premium. Premium gas can cost about 20 to 40 cents per gallon more than regular-grade fuel. Use regular-grade gasoline unless your car’s manufacturer specifically requires premium.

  1. Join a Fuel Rewards Program

Many gas station chains and grocery stores across the country offer discounts on fuel to try to turn you into a loyal customer. Each gas station fuel rewards program and grocery store fuel rewards program has its own set of rules on how much you can save and what you have to spend in order to get the rewards, so read up on the details.

GasBuddy also offers its own fuel savings program called Pay with GasBuddy. Join for free, and you’ll save up to 25 cents per gallon when you fill up at most national gas station chains. You can also sign up for a paid version. Pay with GasBuddy Premium is $9.99 a month and offers up to 40 cents off per gallon plus 24-hour roadside assistance.

(Note: Exxon Mobil, BJs, Costco, Sam’s Club, H-E-B, select Walmart stations, select Arco stations and some small, local gas stations don’t accept the Pay with GasBuddy card.)

  1. Use a Rewards Credit Card

When you fuel up, choose a credit card that pays you cash back or one that allows you to earn rewards points when you purchase gas. Just be sure you know what you’re getting into before opening a rewards credit card. Pay the fuel charges off in full each month so you’re not paying interest on your gas purchases.

  1. Use Cash Instead of a Card

Some gas stations charge a lower price per gallon if you pay with cash rather than a credit card. It’s their way of avoiding card processing fees. While some stations will let you pay the cash price if you use a debit card, others won’t. Check with the gas station before you swipe your card, or simply use cash when it’s time to fill up.

  1. Use Free or Discounted Gift Cards

You can earn gift cards or cash from survey sites like MyPoints or CashKarma. You can also purchase discounted gift cards from sites like Raise or Gift Card Granny.

  1. Fill Up Early in the Week

According to a 2022 GasBuddy gas price analysis, gas prices tend to be the lowest on Mondays and Fridays — this is a change from just a few years ago. If you’re looking to buy cheap gas, avoid filling your tank on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays, when gas prices tend to be the most expensive.

  1. Share Rides

If you live near your co-workers and have similar schedules, take turns driving so you can all drive less each week. Organize a carpool with neighbors or friends to transport your children to school or extracurricular activities, and swap driving duties among the parents.

  1. Plan Routes

Plan your shopping trips and other outings in efficient ways to reduce your drive time. If the grocery store is near your job, do your shopping after work rather than waiting until the weekend. Do your errands all in one day rather than making several trips on different days. Cutting a few miles several times weekly could save a fill-up or two.

  1. Reduce Your Idle Time

Don’t start the car and then leave it running for a long time while you wait for everyone to get in or to fiddle with your navigation. Make sure you’re ready to go before starting your engine. Idling just wastes gas and causes more air pollution.

  1. Accelerate Slowly and Coast More

Be gradual when you’re speeding up or slowing down. Generally, the faster you accelerate, the more gas you use. Be gentle on that pedal when getting up to highway speed. You’ll also get better mileage by coasting more, so look ahead for stops and turns. Take your foot off the gas a bit sooner and slowly glide to a stop. This actually works.

  1. Use Cruise Control — Sometimes

When it’s hilly, you might get better mileage without cruise control because the system will tend to downshift too much and waste gas. But otherwise, cruise! Staying at a steady speed with cruise control has been shown to save on fuel usage — plus you can make sure you don’t go over the speed limit.

  1. Reduce the Use of Your Heater and Air Conditioning

Blasting the heat in the winter or the A/C in the summer has an effect on your fuel economy, so keep that in mind.

There’s a long-running but still inconclusive debate about whether using air conditioning or rolling down the windows contributes more to increased fuel consumption, since wind resistance from open windows creates drag on your vehicle.

When driving at low speeds you may want to cool down by lowering your car windows, but if you’re driving on the highway (or even driving above 30 miles per hour), you might be better off with the air conditioner on and the windows up.

  1. Slow Down

Following the speed limit or driving just under it can pay off in more ways than you might think. The faster you drive, the more wind resistance you face, which reduces your fuel economy.

  1. Check Tire Pressure

Having underinflated tires can lower your gas mileage and cause you to lose about 3 cents per gallon, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. To find the proper tire pressure for your car, check your owner’s manual or the sticker in the driver’s side door jamb or in the glove box.

  1. Check Your Gas Cap

A bad seal or missing cap can allow gas to evaporate from your tank. Besides costing you money, this pollutes the air. Replace your gas cap if the rubber seal seems worn or damaged.

  1. Lighten Your Car

The less you have weighing down your vehicle, the better gas mileage it gets. Look at what you’ve got in your car and remove anything you don’t need. The neglected sports equipment in your trunk can go.

  1. Remove Racks

If you don’t use that bicycle rack, remove it. Take off that ski rack while you’re at it. Racks are extra weight and create more wind resistance — both of which reduce gas mileage.

  1. Use the Right Oil During Oil Changes

Using the wrong grade of motor oil can cost you 5 to 9 cents per gallon, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Be sure to use your manufacturer’s recommended grade of oil, and look for motor oil designated as “energy conserving” or “energy saving.”

Synthetic motor oil (which may cost two or three times more than conventional motor oil) reduces friction better and improves your gas mileage, according to AutoGuide.

  1. Buy a More Efficient Car

Making your next vehicle one that has a higher MPG (miles per gallon) rating is a sure-fire way to spend less on gasoline. Consider a hybrid car — or a used electric one, if you never want to worry about buying gas again.

A vehicle with a manual transmission tends to have better fuel efficiency than an automatic. Plus, driving a stick shift is cool.
