Gary Busey Charged With Sex Crimes
Gary Busey has been charged with sex crimes in New Jersey from incidents occurring at the annual Monster Mania Convention, police said Saturday. Officers with the Cherry Hill Police Department responded to the Doubletree Hotel in Cherry Hill after a sex offense was reported during the event which ran from Aug. 12-14, police said in a statement. He was charged Friday with two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree and one count of harassment. Police said that the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with additional information to contact investigators. Busey, known for his roles in Lethal Weapon and The Buddy Holly Story before appearing on several reality TV shows, was scheduled to return to the convention “after a very long absence.” The convention boasted that a limited number of tickets were available before the three-day event.

Bill Paxton Family Settles Wrongful Death Suit
The family of Bill Paxton who died in 2017 after heart surgery and a stroke, has settled a wrongful death lawsuit against California’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The suit was filed more than four years ago against the hospital and Dr. Ali Khoynezhad, the surgeon who performed the operation on Bill. “The matter has been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties,” plaintiffs’ lawyers Bruce Broillet and Steve Heimberg said in a statement Saturday, adding the terms are confidential. The agreement was made one month before the case was scheduled to go to trial and a judge must still sign off on the deal. The lawsuit alleged the hospital “failed to disclose that [Dr. Khoynezhad] was going to use a high risk and unconventional surgical approach with which he lacked experience and which was, based upon information and belief, beyond the scope of his privileges.” Paxton is survived by his wife, Louise, and adult children, James and Lydia.

Steaming Passes Cable For The First Time
For the first time ever, more Americans tuned in to watch programming using streaming services than by cable or broadcast TV, according to ratings company Nielson Holdings. The company released its numbers for July on Thursday, which show streaming accounted for a record 34.8% share of total television consumption. Cable garnered 34.4%, while broadcast claimed a 21.6% share. Streaming usage has surpassed broadcast viewing numbers before, however this is the first time it has also come out ahead of cable, the company said. Broadcast TV normally sees a lull in viewership during the summer months until networks return with new programming in the fall. Streaming services Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu and YouTube all had record-high shares in July after previously doing so in June. Netflix captured the biggest share of overall TV viewing among streaming platforms with 8%. The number marks a record high for the service.

Bennifer Wedding In Georgia
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married for the second time Saturday in a star-studded ceremony at Ben’s Georgia home. They tied the knot during a three-day celebration for friends and family near Savannah one month after spontaneously eloping to Las Vegas. Lopez wore a couture Ralph Lauren dress made in Italy for the ceremony, which was officiated by celebrity life coach Jay Shetty. The weekend-long wedding bash included a welcome dinner Friday, and guests were served a barbecue picnic on Sunday. But at least one member of Affleck’s family was not in attendance. Younger brother Casey Affleck stayed in Los Angeles over the weekend, according to TMZ. White seemed to be the theme of the event. Some guests arrived Saturday afternoon in white Old Savannah Tour trolley buses, while others came in black SUVs, handing over to guards what looked like invitations. The white cards appeared to feature a drawing of a bird, with its wings extended. As Lopez and Affleck ambled down a walkway that was constructed on the grounds, their children helped carry the flowing garment, according to one of the images. The newlyweds held each other close throughout the ceremony, according to the photos, which show them embracing on a wooden footbridge that extends out above a body of water adjacent to the mansion.

Sherri Shepherd Outlines Her New Show
Sherri Shepherd wants to inspire viewers and make them laugh when her new daytime talk show debuts this fall. She will be taking cues from Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres’ former talk show. “She’s bringing comedy back to TV… What she plans to do for the show is take Ellen and Oprah and combine it. It will be a funny, inspirational show,” an insider says. Last week she hosted a mixer with top agencies like PMK and Jonesworks, which counts Tom Brady and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as clients, at Ink 48 in New York. The event brought out TV execs Frank Cicha and Fox 5’s GM Lew Leone, who will carry her show in New York. Tony and Pulitzer-winning playwright Michael R. Jackson even popped by to meet Shepherd. She hosted a similar event in LA last month that brought out execs from Amazon and Interscope. “Sherri made sure she spoke to every single publicist that attended. She did the same in LA, literally every single one – all the networks and record labels,” the insider shared. Her new show debuts September 12th.

Top Gun: Maverick Breaks Another Record
Top Gun: Maverick has crossed another impressive milestone during its run as it has now officially passed Avengers: Infinity War to become the sixth-highest grossing movie in domestic box office history by earning $679 million. As reported by Box Office Mojo, it now sits behind Black Panther’s $700 million and, while it may be a bit of a challenge, the sequel to 1986’s Top Gun does still have a chance to pass it by as it is still racking up ticket sales at the box office. While that goal may be obtainable, it simply may not have enough speed to pass Avatar’s $760 million, Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $804 million, Avengers: Endgame’s $858 million, or Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ $936 million. Even if it ends its run in 6th place, it will obviously still be a performance of a lifetime. Worldwide, Top Gun: Maverick is currently sitting at 13th place with $1.3 billion, and it sits just behind Avengers: Age of Ultron’s $1.4 billion and Frozen 2’s $1.45 billion.
*******He can’t beat Black Panther!! That would be racist!! So just hold right there!!

Parrot Rescued From Tree
Firefighters in Michigan were called out to an unusual rescue when a pet parrot escaped from her home and perched on a high branch of a maple tree. The City of Ludington Fire Department said in a Facebook post that firefighters responded to a call for assistance from Ludington police when the bird, named Molly, perched high up in a maple tree and showed no signs of coming down on her own. The department said firefighters have rescued three cats from trees during the past couple years, but the parrot rescue was a first. Firefighters used a ladder truck to reach Molly and bring her back down to the ground for a reunion with her owner. See the pic HERE.

Tiny Dog Chases Off Bear
A Colorado woman’s home security camera captured video of the moment a that black bear wandering through her neighborhood was chased off by a neighbor’s small dog. The Castle Rock resident said her Wyze security camera captured video of the bear about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The footage shows the bear fleeing past the camera owner’s home. Moments later, the cause of the bear’s distress is revealed: a Pomeranian puppy chasing after the bear. The homeowner said the dog belongs to her neighbor. Colorado Parks and Wildlife warned residents that bears in the state are becoming more active as they prepare for hibernation. See the video HERE.

Surfers Busted In Venice Grand Canal
Authorities in Italy hit two tourists with heavy fines for surfing along the famed Grand Canal in Venice, a stunt that upset the city’s mayor. The iconic canal that winds through the city is not just Venice’s main thoroughfare, it’s also a recognized UNESCO World Heritage site. The tourists, who were not immediately identified, were caught on video using motorized surfboards to surf the waterway. They even dodged a water taxi after opting for the Grand Canal over the numerous beaches in the area. Surfing and swimming have long been banned in the canal, which is a major tourist attraction and an important means of transportation for those who live in Venice. In one video, the surfers pass under the Accademia Bridge and one falls from his board. However, he made sure to keep his cellphone out of the water to film his companion. The surfers were ultimately tracked down and their surfboards confiscated. They were fined more than $1,500 each. See the video HERE.

Old Lady Caught With Lots Of Heroin!
A 81-year-old Danish woman traveling from Africa to Canada was arrested at Warsaw airport on suspicion of illegal possession of heroin worth over $515,000. Customs officers at Frederic Chopin Airport decided to check the woman’s luggage Sunday after becoming suspicious of her itinerary and her uneasy behavior. Packages with 5 kilograms (11 pounds) of heroin were discovered under a false suitcase bottom. The woman, traveling from Malawi and Kenya through Doha and Warsaw, denied any wrongdoing and said family members had given her the suitcase with gifts for relatives in Canada, according to Aleksandra Skrzyniarz, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office in Warsaw. She was detained for three months and prosecutors have opened an investigation. Under Polish law, she faces up to 15 years in prison for illegal possession of narcotics.

11 Things I Won’t Do After Working As A Housecleaner
HUFFINGTON POST
- Expect A Cleaner To Do A Pile Of Dishes Or Clean Up After A Pet
“Cleaning litter boxes or cleaning up after pets who have accidents. I’ve had people expect that, and that is just something I can’t do. I’ve been in houses where you’re constantly stepping in urine and I just have to walk away from that type of situation. “When it comes to feces or anything, that’s where it hits off-limits. It’s not super common, but I have run into it where people think that is a thing, and I’m just saying, ‘That’s your pet, that’s your baby, I’ll leave that to you, and then I’ll take care of everything else for you.’
“Dishes are a big one, too. I don’t mind at all doing them for clients who need them done once in a while. But there have been people who try to take advantage and they’ll leave you a huge pile of dishes and expect you to do them, which is time-consuming and not something normal housecleaners usually do. It’s more housekeeping instead of housecleaning.” –– Amber Elise, owner of Bubbles and Buckets in Otsego, Minnesota
- Hover In The House While A Housecleaner Is Working
“I would not stay at home while they are cleaning. A lot of my clients think they need to stay at home and help me clean. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and it is very frustrating. Housecleaners do not need your help. I’ve said this until I am blue in the face. You hire us for a service, and most of us are very good at what we do, so get out of the way and let us do our jobs. “Most of us clean two, three houses a day and are on a tight schedule. Clients that want to help usually slow us down. I cannot clean the kitchen while you are trying to rearrange your Tupperware.
“I understand the trust issue, and if you have a new cleaning crew come in, or if you can’t physically leave, by all means, stay at home. Just seclude yourself in one part of the house, like a bedroom, so they can clean the rest of the house. When it is time to clean that room, move on to another part of the house they have already done. Once you build trust with your cleaners, you can give them a key or stash it outside somewhere. “The best jobs that I go to are the ones where I know no one will be home. I can zip through the job while I crank my Beastie Boys Pandora. I can’t do that with my little old ladies at home.” — Sara San Angelo, The Cleaning Lady in Charleston, South Carolina
- Leave The Thermostat Cranked High, Regardless Of A Housecleaner’s Comfort
Housecleaner Sharel Moore posted a TikTok saying clients should turn down the thermostat for housecleaners. “We’re HOT!!!” her caption said. A critic in the comments replied, “Their house, their temperature choice. You don’t have to work there.” “You are right!” Moore shot back in a reply. “Being my own boss I choose to work for people that treat me like a human! And not just hired help.”
- Befriend A Client
“After being a housecleaner, the main thing that I would not do is cross the line from treating a client like friends or even family. “I have had some really bad experiences before that. Because they treated me like family or friends, they felt that they were entitled to certain benefits, almost as if my work was no longer valued the same because I had to give them a deal.
“Also respect was no longer there, which led to several occasions where because those boundaries were crossed … there was no clear line of ‘This is the list of things I do and no more,’ it was like ‘Can you also do … ? Etc.’ The list can go on and on. I feel that it can be like this in many jobs, but I feel more so in a housecleaner situation as it is very personal as you are in their home.” — Ileana Cabrera, a Los Angeles-based housecleaner
- Have Blinds And Carpeted Stairs
Lisa Sosa of Clean Happy Company posted a TikTok explaining what she would not want in her own home after working as a professional cleaner for nine years: “I am not going to have blinds in my future home. Those things just collect dust and they are a pain in the ass to wipe, so I’m going either to have the Roman shades or no blinds at all, just really good curtains,” she said, adding later that carpeted stairs are her other big no-no because they are a “pain in the butt.”
- Use Chemical Or Strongly Scented Cleaners
“I won’t use strongly scented cleaning products, even if they are marketed as natural, because they give me headaches for two or three days after the job.” —Gail, a New York City-based housecleaner and member of We Dream in Black, an initiative of the National Domestic Workers Alliance that centers the voices of Black, Afro-Latina and Afro-descendant domestic workers
“After working as a housecleaner for so many years, the main thing I do not do anymore is use cleaners with chemicals in my own home. Many of my clients insists on using toxic cleaners in their homes and as I get older, I am getting very concerned about breathing all those chemicals in as well as them absorbing through my skin. “I now wear gloves at those clients’ houses if I use anything with bleach in it or other harsh ingredients, and make sure to use them in a ventilated area.
“In my own home, I basically make my own cleaners using vinegar, baking soda and maybe a little Dawn dish detergent. You really don’t need cleaners that can take the chrome off a bumper to keep your house clean.” –– San Angelo
- Stay At A Privately Owned Vacation Rental Like Airbnb
Tiffany Williams, a Granger, Indiana-based housecleaner, said on TikTok that one of the biggest things she will not do after working as a housecleaner is to stay at a privately owned vacation rental, like an Airbnb. “I’ve been in a lot of Airbnbs over my sixteen years of doing this. I’ve seen a lot of neglected Airbnbs, I’ve seen a lot of mold in dishwashers, coated ceiling fans, vent fans barely functioning, gross stuff on walls, boogers on bed skirts,” Williams said. “I’ve seen it all, and I personally would never stay at a vacation rental.”
- Have Grout With Small Tiles In The Backsplash Of My Kitchen
Housecleaner Alyssa, who works in the Oakland, California, and Macomb County, Michigan, area, shared that after working as a housecleaner, she would not have many small tiles with a lot of grout in her ideal kitchen backsplash, because of how hard they are to clean. “Grout is annoying, it requires maintenance, and it’s in your kitchen. It’s going to get a lot of buildup and grease,” Alyssa said, “I would opt for a slab … There’s no grout and you could match it with your countertops. That’s what I would opt for.”
- Get Paid Unfairly
“I won’t accept a job without agreeing on a minimum of five hours per cleaning and receiving a clear agreement of the client’s housecleaning needs in order to quote a fair hourly rate. I won’t work for less than $25 per hour.” –– Gail
- Get Paid Later Instead Of Upfront
“I’ve had people say, ‘I get paid on Friday, so I’ll pay you on Friday.’ And that’s just not how it works. When your cleaner gets there, have the payment ready to go.
“It baffles me because I know I wouldn’t be able to tell a cleaner, ‘Hey, I’ll pay you when I get paid in two weeks,’ and I’ve experienced that, and that’s not the way it works when you’re cleaning someone’s house. Especially when you are self-employed and you might need that money by the end of the week for a certain bill.” –– Elise
- Assume That Housecleaners Do Their Job Because They Have No Other Choice
“If I were to ever hire a housecleaner I would 100% make sure I treat them with the utmost respect and never assume that they do not speak English or that they do not have an education. “I have a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and speak perfect English and if I am cleaning houses, it is not because I have no other choice. It is because it is my choice. I earn more now than I ever did working in any office job I ever had, but never had the flexibility I now have and need for my family.” — Cabrera
