Richard Simmons, who has stayed out of the spotlight in recent years, is thanking his fans for their support after a documentary about him premiered online this week. Simmons’ representative told E! News Friday that he “is so gratified by the outpouring of love and good wishes from his fans.” “He wants them to know he is doing well and sends all his best wishes back to them.” A message posted on Simmons’ Facebook page Wednesday said: “Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and love! Princess Diana’s custom 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1 car sold at auction Saturday for more than $850,000. Ordered and specifically made for the late Princess of Wales, the black hatchback vehicle was only used for a few years until it was returned to the manufacturer with fewer than 6,800 miles on it. “The car is believed to be unique as the first and only black RS Turbo Series 1,” according to the Silverstone Auction house. She owned the two-door vehicle beginning in 1985 while she was married to Prince Charles and was famously seen driving Prince William around town in the back seat. The Escort was fitted with a regular, five-slat front grille to “assist in the stealth makeover and a secondary rear view mirror for the protection officer with a radio in the glove box.”

Months after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards, he appears to be feeling more optimistic. “Will is feeling much more confident and much more positive and less depressed,” a source tells “Entertainment Tonight.” “He was in very low spirits prior to making his public apology,” the source continued. “He feels less ashamed now and more comfortable being out and about in public again because he has and continues to do the work that needs to be done for himself, his wife, his family, his friends, his colleagues, his fans, the Academy, Chris and Chris’ family.” The new comments come after Smith shared an apology video to Rock on YouTube after striking the comedian onstage in front of millions of viewers worldwide for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith back in March. Jennifer Lopez performed for attendees at her wedding to Ben Affleck. She “engaged in an exclusive performance for her guests,” a press release from jewelry designer Mikimoto sent earlier this week read. The release noted that Lopez wore the brand’s Prestige White South Sea Cultured Pearl Earrings with Diamonds set in Platinum ($53,000). But when asked for further comment, a rep for the pearl company claimed their release was incorrect, and Lopez did not perform. A rep for Lopez also said she was not aware of the performance. However, TMZ reported Friday that the “Selena” actress did, in fact, perform for their guests. The outlet posted video showing Lopez, along with backup dancer and singers, performing a new song for Affleck, who sat alone in a chair as she serenaded him.

Elton John Opens Up On Recruiting Britney For Collaboration
Britney Spears is back on the top of the charts thanks to the support of her friend Elton John. In a new interview, Elton detailed how he got her to return to the studio for the first time in six years — and since the end of her conservatorship — to record their duet, “Hold Me Closer.” “She’s been away so long — there’s a lot of fear there because she’s been betrayed so many times and she hasn’t really been in the public eye officially for so long. We’ve been holding her hand through the whole process, reassuring her that everything’s gonna be all right,” John told the Guardian. “I’m so excited to be able to do it with her because if it is a big hit, and I think it may be, it will give her so much more confidence than she’s got already and she will realize that people actually love her and care for her and want her to be happy. That’s all anybody in their right mind would want after she went through such a traumatic time.” He explained that after the success of his 2021 single with Dua Lipa, “Cold Heart,” he started brainstorming ideas for another “fun, happy summer record” when his husband, David Furnish, “said it would be wonderful for Britney Spears to do it.” Elton agreed it would be a good idea, having been a fan of Spears for years. “She just put out incredibly brilliant records,” he raved. “She sang and danced so beautifully.” John decided to reach out to test the waters, and he was thrilled when Spears jumped at the opportunity to work together. Charlie Sheen Settles HIV Lawsuit
Charlie Sheen has settled a lawsuit filed by an ex in which she claimed the actor knowingly exposed her to HIV, per TMZ. She has reportedly been awarded $120,000 in the deal. The plaintiff, known only as Jane Doe within the legal documents, claimed through the initial filing in June 2017 that she had met Sheen in September 2015 and they began having sexual relations not long after. He allegedly used a condom at first but as of Oct. 26, 2015, transitioned into having unprotected sex with the woman, who is characterized in the legal filings as a “Russian émigré.” Prior to the skin-to-skin liaison, he had assured her he was “‘fine’” when she asked him whether he had any sexually transmitted diseases. However, following the act, he confessed to her that he was, in fact, HIV positive — something that he had known since 2011 — and allegedly gave her pills to protect her from contracting the virus. She allegedly proceeded to seek out further preventative care at an emergency clinic before confronting him about his actions a few days later. In the argument, he supposedly described himself as “‘noble’” for informing her about his HIV status in the first place, adding that he hadn’t told her prior to their having unprotected sex because it was “‘none of her f–king business.’” He allegedly continued on to rant about how the anti-viral meds weren’t necessary and were part of “’the convenient rumors of the medical community.’”

A source claims the $40 million Carmel, Calif., mansion, which was built in 1918 to resemble King Arthur’s castle, is haunted by the specters of Hollywood past. “Over the years, local kids would sneak into the spooky-looking house when it was empty to conduct seances and summon spirits with a Ouija board,” spills the source. “No one is sure who the ghost or ghosts might be, but some say it’s the original owner’s son, author Daniel Lewis James, while others suspect that Hollywood actress Joan Fontaine or famous photographer Ansel Adams, wo both lived nearby, walk the halls.” Sounds like sage might be the perfect housewarming gift!

Bald Eagle Goes Thru TSA
Travelers at a North Carolina airport were treated to an unusual scene when security screeners examined an unusual passenger — a bald eagle. Clark, a 19-year-old bald eagle, was caught on camera Monday at the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Clark was catching a flight to the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, Mo., with handler Daniel Cone. “Our special guest was Clark the Eagle with the World Bird Sanctuary, who decided to give his wings a break and fly commercial,” TSA Southeast said in a Twitter post. “His airline notified us and we screened him and his handler. Clark is trained to spread his wings, and even showed off a bit during screening.” Cone said he and Clark were in North Carolina to make an appearance at High Point University’s Convocation Ceremony. He said he often makes the flight with the bird of prey on Southwest Airlines planes. See the video HERE.

Company Offers Money For Getting Canine Tattoo
A pet supply company is offering to pay $150 to 100 people willing to get tattoos of their own dogs. BARK, the company behind the popular BarkBox pet supply subscription service, announced it will give $150 gift cards to 100 people who agree to ink their skin with images of their canine companions. Lauren Diener, a social media and content manager at BARK, said the promotion was inspired by her own tattoo, which shows the ears of Stella, her 3-year-old pit bull. Diener told The National Desk her boss, Stacie Grisson, was so impressed “that she got BARK to pay for my tattoo.” Another coworker, Eliza Reinhardt, then suggested the tattoo promotion. “A conversation we had in a passing moment turned into this huge thing,” Diener said. “That was really cool.” People interested in the tattoo promotion have until Sept. 2 to “share a photo of your best bud and tell us why you want ’em forever on your bod.”

Florida Man Arrested Over Fight For Toaster Oven
Flagler County deputies arrested a man Thursday who they said allegedly tried to choke one of his relatives during a fight over a toaster oven. The argument eventually escalated into a full-blown fight with Buckley knocking the victim over, punching him, biting him on the neck, and then wrapping his arm around the family member’s throat to choke him, according to deputies. A female relative saw the fight and tried to get Buckley to stop by yelling at him and trying to pull him off. Fearing for the victim’s life, the woman took a knife and stabbed Buckley in the back to get him to stop, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said the victim was also stabbed in the shoulder with the same knife but was expected to recover. “When speaking to deputies afterward, the female family member said she was afraid that Buckley was going to kill the male family member if she didn’t intervene,” the sheriff’s office said. “She also told investigators that Buckley is a known drug user and had been awake for several days before the incident. Buckley fled the home before deputies arrived. However, he was arrested after K9 deputies tracked him to another home. The Flagler County Sheriff said Buckley had an extensive criminal history.
