Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may still be together, but “very much live separate lives.”  “Kim has work and projects that are important to her, and Kanye has his,” a source told People. “Their lives don’t overlap much.”  “Kim seems happy” and is “very focused on work and causes,” they added. “She strongly believes she can make a change when it comes to prison reform. Simon Cowell Might Sue E-Bike Company

Simon Cowell is considering suing the e-bike company that sold him the high-powered two-wheeler he was almost killed riding.   A former employee of the company Swind — which manufactures the EB-01 bike Cowell was flung from in August — claims Simon is now weighing legal action that could seek up to $10 million in damages.  Cowell broke his back in three places while riding the $20,000 bike outside his Malibu mansion. He underwent a six-hour surgery to repair his spine, and doctors inserted a metal rod into his back.  The Swind whistleblower claims the injuries could have been avoided.  “That thing is a death trap and should never have been sold to Simon without him being taught how to use it,” The Sun source reportedly said.  “I said to my boss, ‘Are you showing Simon how to use this?’ He said he was just dropping it off and I said, ‘Are you serious?’”  The bike can reach speeds up to 60 mph, closer to a motorcycle than a traditional e-bike.  Cowell has also said he knew little about the bike before hopping behind the handlebars.  “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time,” he tweeted.

Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty To Gun Charges

Rapper Lil Wayne has pleaded guilty in a Miami court to a federal gun charge stemming from a December 2019 incident at the Opa Locka Executive Airport.  The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida said in a news release Wayne, who was born Dwayne Carter, faces up to 10 years in federal prison after entering the plea Friday.  He is due to be sentenced Jan. 28^th.  He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and ammunition as a prior felony offender after it was discovered he took a private flight with a loaded, gold-plated .45-caliber handgun in his bag.  Possession of the gun and ammunition was illegal because of Carter’s past history as a felon.

Quarantine Like Marky Mark!

Mark Wahlberg is in Australia to film a commercial for Ladbrokes and, instead of doing his government-mandated quarantine in a luxury hotel, Wahlberg received government permission to self-isolate with his crew at a luxury retreat outside of Byron Bay to the tune of $400,000.  The retreat – which starts at $2,500 a night – is also outfitted with a round-the-clock security team “including two NSW police officers, to ensure that he will be safe at all times and is following quarantine protocol,” the Daily Mail reports. There is also a private ambulance on standby and the retreat, with all the extras, will cost Wahlberg (or the production company) almost half a million dollars.  After his quarantine, Wahlberg will shoot the commercial in Sydney before returning to his wife and kids in Beverly Hills. But while he’s only there for two weeks, he insisted on bringing his own gym equipment with him via the United States.  Byron Bay has become the “it” spot for celebrities, with Chris and Liam Hemsworth moving there alongside Isla Fisher and Sasha Baron Cohen, Zac Efron, and Olivia Newton-John.

Harry and Meghan’s Home Is Empty Again

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have moved out of Frogmore Cottage after just six weeks and are settling back into their old digs at Kensington Palace, the Daily Mirror reported.  Frogmore College was a loaner from Harry and Meghan, who dropped more than $3 million in public money to overhaul the five-bedroom home — from updating the wiring and heating to remodeling the bathrooms to putting in a yoga room. They repaid their taxpayer tab in early September.  Eugenie and Jack packed their bags for Frogmore in early November after they made a private deal with Harry and Meghan, who received the cottage as a wedding gift from the Queen. Despite stepping away from the royal family and moving to California, the Sussexes still list the estate as their official UK residence.  Eugenie and Jack, who married two years ago at St. George’s Chapel, are expecting their baby before the end of spring.

Hayden Christensen To Play Darth Vader Again

Disney will be launching “roughly” 10 Marvel series, 10 “Star Wars” series and 15 live-action, animation and Pixar series over the next few years, Kareem Daniel, chairman of media and entertainment distribution for Disney, revealed during investor day.  But one project stands out from them all: Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Darth Vader in Disney+ series “Obi-Wan,” The Wrap reported.  It will be released directly on Disney+, Daniel said during the investor call. “With these Disney+ originals, along with theatrical releases and library titles, we will be adding something new to the service every week,” Daniel said. No details about the series were released, but it will most likely include the upcoming Cassian Andor series, which is a prequel of “Rogue One,” an Obi-Wan Kenobi series and a female-centered series from Leslye Headland of “Russian Doll.”

Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Husband Owes Her Millions

Kelly Clarkson is accusing her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock of fraud in a new lawsuit.  She filed legal docs with the California Labor Commission claiming Starstruck Entertainment, a Nashville-based talent management company owned by Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, defrauded her out of millions of dollars. Clarkson has been working with Starstruck Entertainment since 2007.  In the lawsuit, Clarkson names both Brandon and Narvel, claiming they charged exorbitant fees that allowed her managers to perform “illegal services” as agents, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly. The talk show host claims that Brandon and Narvel were not licensed in the state of California to be agents. The American Idol winner wants to be paid back money she believes she’s owed over the 13 years in which they acted as her agent.  She was sued first by her father-in-law’s company in September. Starstruck Management Group claims the singer owes over $1.4 million in unpaid commissions this year, in addition to the $1.9 million she already paid. According to People, she allegedly had a verbal contract with the company since 2007 that she would pay them 15 percent commission on her gross earnings.

Charley Pride Passes

Charley Pride, country music’s first Black superstar, died Saturday due to complications of COVID-19. He was 86.  A statement on Pride’s website reported the singer’s death in Dallas, and Pride’s publicist, Jeremy Westby, confirmed to reporters.  Pride was born March 18, 1934, in Sledge, Miss., to sharecroppers Tessie Stewart Pride and Mack Pride, Sr.  He served in the Army, worked at a smelting plant and briefly tried to make it as a baseball player before his 1963 move to Nashville.  In 1965, Pride signed a contract with RCA Records, landing his first Top 10 Billboard country music single two years later with “Just Between You and Me.”  Pride had 51 more country Top 10 hits in the 20 years after his 1967 breakout hit, and in 2000 became the first Black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Maybe the galaxy isn’t quite so far, far away after all!  Eagle-eyed viewers of The Mandalorian noticed a strange creature in the background if the Star Wars spinoff series behind the titular character and his cohorts Greef (Carl Weathers) and Cara (Gina Carano):  A crew member in a T-shirt and jeans.  One fan couldn’t help comparing the gaffe to another infamous one:  “My theory is it’s the same guy who left that Starbucks cup on Game of Thrones!”

Santa Pays Off Layaways

The manager of a Walmart store in Tennessee said a secret Santa came into the store and paid nearly $65,000 to cover the cost of all current layaway items.  Kris Light, manager of the Walmart in Bristol, confirmed the person came into store and made a $64,995.51 donation to clear the entire layaway balance.  Lloyd Leonard, a customer at the store, said he was initially confused when he received a message saying his layaway purchases had been paid off and were ready for pick-up.  “I got a notification on my email that my layaway had been paid for,” Leonard told WJHL-TV. “And I thought ‘well that’s kind of weird.'”  Leonard talked to a store employee and discovered his bill had been paid by an anonymous person.  “She said yeah somebody came in this morning at 6 o’clock and paid everybody’s layaway,” Leonard said. “But he wants me to tell you that he loves you, god bless you and Merry Christmas.”  Light praised the anonymous donor in a statement.

Expensive Painting Found In The Trash

A painting worth about $340,000 was forgotten at a German airport by a businessman flying to Israel, and police rescued the misplaced artwork from the recycling.  Dusseldorf Police said the businessman arrived in Tel Aviv after his Nov. 27 flight and discovered the painting, a surrealist work by Yves Tanguy, had been left behind at the Dusseldorf Airport.  The businessman contacted the airport, but officials were unable to locate the flat cardboard box containing the painting.  The man’s nephew, who lives in Belgium, traveled to Dusseldorf to join in the search and sought help from the local police.  Police contacted the cleaning company contracted by the airport and an investigator ended up searching through the waste paper recycling with a company manager.  The painting was found at the bottom of the recycling container. It was returned Wednesday to the businessman who had misplaced it.

Porta-Potty Choir

An Indiana portable toilet company shared a festive video of what it calls ” a world record for the most animated faces on a single holiday light display.”  Service Sanitation posted a video to Facebook showing 32 portable toilets adorned with animated faces “singing” the song “Hallelujah.”  “The Jingle Johns have officially set a world record for the most animated faces on a single holiday light display,” the post reads.  Steve Dykstra, director of marketing for the company, clarified the feat was not an official Guinness World Record, but the company considers it to be a world record because they could not find any other videos online to dispute the claim.  A Guinness representative said the record-keeping organization does not monitor records involving animated faces in holiday light displays.  See the video HERE.

China Wants Flight Attendants To Wear Diapers

China’s aviation authority released new COVID-19 safety guidelines that include the suggestion that flight attendants wear diapers to avoid using plane lavatories.  The Civil Aviation Administration of China’s document, titled Technical Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control for Airlines, offers suggestions for hygiene practices to prevent flight crew members from contracting the coronavirus.  The document, which includes recommendations for use of medical masks and other personal protective equipment, drew attention online for one unusual suggestion: “It is recommended that cabin crew members wear disposable diapers and avoid using the lavatories barring special circumstances to avoid infection risks.”  The recommendation comes after a woman flying from Italy to South Korea in August contracted COVID-19 during her trip, and investigators cited her visit to the lavatory — the only place on the plane where she removed her mask — as a possible cause of her infection.
