Mr. Big Dropped By Agency

Chris Noth has been dropped as a client by A3 Artists Agency, a prominent Los Angeles talent agency.  The “Sex and the City” and “And Just Like That” star, best known for his role as Mr. Big, is “no longer a client,” an A3 Artists Agency spokesperson confirmed to Fox News.  The news follows recent sexual assault accusations against the actor. Two women shared details with The Hollywood Reporter of alleged separate encounters that took place in 2004 and 2015.  THR claimed the women – Zoe, now 40, and Lily, now 31 – approached the outlet separately in recent months and do not know each other.  Noth released a statement through his team on Thursday to Fox News Digital denying the accusations:  “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
******Don’t worry… he’ll get a fair trial.. and a fair hangin’!!!

Rod Stewart and Son Plead Guilty

Rod Stewart and his son have pleaded guilty to battery in an assault case stemming from a New Year’s Eve 2019 altercation with a security guard at an exclusive Florida hotel.  Court records released Friday showed that the singer and his son Sean Stewart entered guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges of simple battery.  “No one was injured in the incident and a jury did not find Sir Rod Stewart guilty of the accusation,” his attorney Guy Fronstin said in a statement. “Instead, Sir Rod Stewart decided to enter a plea to avoid the inconvenience and unnecessary burden on the court and the public that a high profile proceeding would cause.”  The plea agreement means that Stewart and his son won’t have to appear in court and formal adjudication of the charge was withheld. There will be no trial.  Neither will do any jail time or be required to pay fines and won’t be placed on probation, Fronstin said.
*****They pleaded guilty to “simple battery,” because Rod’s too old for anything more complicated!!
******If there’s no punishment, what’s the plea deal?? Just say this, and you’re off the hook??
*****The lawyer keeps calling him “Sir Rod,” like that’s supposed to impress us!! OK, it does.

Cardi B Scraps Plans For New Doll

Cardi B has announced her new line of dolls will not be released, following a social media outcry from fans who were angered by ongoing delays with the product launch, TMZ reports.  Her rep cited COVID-fueled production and shipping delays, as well as the Bronx native’s own concerns about the quality of the product, the report said.  Fans who dished out $35 for the dolls blasted the manufacturer, fashion doll brand Real Woman Are, and said they felt cheated.  “Cardi you need to check this company because this is a clear scam because look at all these people without their doll,” follower missashley_2u posted on the performer’s Instagram last week. “This company has stopped responding to emails.”  She announced the release of the dolls to her 118 million Instagram followers back in March, as part of International Women’s Day.  “Inspired by me. Created by me. Designed by me,” Cardi B beamed. “This means sooo much!!”  Real Woman Are started taking preorders for the $35 dolls upon the announcement.  The company announced most recently it would began shipping dolls in October. But when deliveries failed to materialize, concerned fans and angry customers demanded answers on social media.  Cardi B asked the company to issue refunds to customers immediately if it hasn’t already, according to TMZ.

George Michael’s Headstone Finally In Place

George Michael finally has a headstone marking his grave, five years after he died.  His memorial at London’s Highgate Cemetery is now inscribed with the Englishman’s birth name, Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, The Sun reported.  “George’s grave was left unmarked over fears it would become a morbid tourist attraction,” a source told the paper. “But a lot of people believed he deserved better.”  He was one half of the 1980s hit-making duo Wham! before embarking on a globally successful solo career, marked by international hits such as “Careless Whisper” and “Faith.”  He was found dead at age 53 on Christmas Day 2016 at his home northwest of London.  Michael is buried next to his mother, Lesley, and his sister Melanie, who passed away at age 59 on December 25, 2019, three years to the day after the Grammy winner died.  See the headstone HERE.

Golden Girls Spinoff Coming To Hulu

The short-lived “Golden Girls” spinoff “The Golden Palace” is headed to Hulu — just in time for star Betty White’s centennial birthday in January 2022.  She will be turning 100 years old on Jan. 17 and the spinoff will start streaming on Jan. 10th.  “The Golden Palace” aired for just one season, from 1992 until 1993, and starred most of the original cast of its predecessor except for Bea Arthur.  White, Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty, Cheech Marin and a young Don Cheadle appeared on the CBS sitcom.  The offshoot began where its parent series left off, with Dorothy Zbornak (Arthur) having married and the three remaining women (Sophia Petrillo, Rose Nylund, and Blanche Devereaux) deciding to open up a hotel in Miami. The show follows the trio as they interact with guests and their hotel staff as well as their funny hijinks.  “The Golden Girls” series is also available to stream on Hulu so fans can catch up before the sequel premieres.
******They’ve also got a 100th birthday special in the can, and it was produced with two endings, if you know what we mean!!!!

SNL Scrambles To Get Show On The Air

Saturday Night Live” opened with Tom Hanks greeting a nearly empty studio since the show went without a live audience because of the recent rise in Covid-19 cases.  “Tonight everyone at ‘Saturday Night Live’ planned to do our big Christmas show … but Covid came early this year,” Hanks said.  Hanks continued, “In the interest of safety, we do not have an audience.”  “And we sent home our cast, most of our crew, but I came here from California,” he said. “And if you think I was going to fly 3,000 miles and not be on TV, well, you have another thing coming.”  Hanks — who was wearing a robe with the number “5” emblazoned on it to celebrate inducting host Paul Rudd into “The Five Timers Club,” which is reserved for celebrities who have hosted five times — then brought out Tina Fey.  Hanks then pointed out that it wasn’t all so bad since Rudd was just named “The Sexist Man of the Year.”  “I think it was ‘Sexiest,'” Rudd remarked.  “Yeah, okay,” Hanks said back.  Kenan Thompson, “SNL’s” longest tenured cast member, then came out to honor Rudd joining the club.  “Whoa, where is everybody?” Thompson asked looking at the empty studio, before congratulating Rudd on hosting “4.5 times.”  Thompson explained that “SNL” would go on this weekend, but would be a little different. There would be brand new sketches that were taped earlier this week as well as sketches from the past.

Kittens Turn Out To Be Leopard Cubs

Wildlife officials in India said a man who rescued what he thought were a pair of abandoned kittens on his property brought them inside his home and only later discovered they were leopard cubs.  Forest Department officials in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district said Kiran Giri, a farmer from Bajrikheda Village, discovered the baby felines in his field and brought them inside because he thought they were abandoned kittens suffering from the recent cold weather.  Giri told officials the felines started to recover from the cold after three days inside his house, and he grew suspicious when they appeared to be growling instead of meowing.  The farmer showed the animals to neighbors, who confirmed they were growling and suspected they actually were leopard cubs.

Someone Stole An Entire Bridge!

Police in Ohio said they are on the hunt for an unusual piece of stolen property: an entire 58-foot-long pedestrian bridge.  The Akron Police Department said the bridge formerly served as a pedestrian walkway along the Little Cuyahoga River in Middlebury Run Park, but was moved to an open field as part of a wetlands restoration project.  Police said the city had planned to repurpose the bridge in a new location, but they recently discovered the $40,000 bridge had been stolen from its temporary home.  Investigators said they believe the bridge was disassembled and taken from the field piece by piece.  “The bridge is almost all polymer I’m told and really just connected by some bolts, so if you have any equipment, sockets or anything of that nature, it wouldn’t have been very difficult at all to start the process of disassembling that,” Akron police Lt. Mike Miller told WJW-TV.  Police said the bridge has little recycling value, so they suspect it was taken by someone who intends to use it.

Engineers To Silence Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most famous sights on the West Coast — but for two years, it’s also been emitting a strange sound that will finally be silenced in the coming months.  Construction in 2020 to stabilize the bridge during strong winds installed thin slats between the handrail and driving deck. But in those gusty winds, the slats have given the bridge an unexpected and unwanted side effect — a strange, and some say eerie, humming sound.  Scientists have now come up with a way to silence the hum.  In 2022, crews will make another addition to the bridge — thousands of U-shaped aluminum clips, about an eighth of an inch with rubber inserts, which will silence the hum.  Officials said the work will take about six months and should be completed sometime in late 2022. It will cost about $450,000.  The fix will be music to the ears of thousands of San Franciscans.  “Yesterday, it was so loud. We live in the Outer Richmond and we could hear it from our house,” resident Brianne Howell told KPIX-TV.  Hear the audio HERE.
*******We think that sound is the souls of everyone who’s jumped off the bridge. Just sayin’!!!

Real Deer Attacks Deer Display!

A British Columbia woman said the red-nosed Rudolph decoration has proven to be an irresistible target for aggressive deer.  Arlene Chmelyk of Fort Nelson said her family first repurposed the 3D archery target, made in the size and shape of a white-tailed deer, into “Rudolph the Red-Nosed White-Tail” about 5 years ago, and they quickly discovered local deer apparently couldn’t tell the difference.  She shared video of a recent attack on the decoration to Facebook.  “Every year a buck in the area attacks him or hits and knocks him over and breaks him,” Chmelyk told CBC News.  She said she was surprised that the deer weren’t warded off by the glowing red light bulb that her husband installed on Rudolph’s nose.  “I’m like, he has a bright red nose,” she said. “I’m not really sure what they see.”  Chmelyk theorized the bucks, who are in their rutting season, might not be paying attention to Rudolph’s features beyond the decoration’s antlers.  See the video HERE.

5 Damaging Food Comments We Say Too Often Around The Holidays

Huffington Post

“I shouldn’t go back for more food.”

You’re sitting at the table with a finished plate in front of you, but you’re not feeling satisfied. Maybe you’re still hungry or want more of the delicious holiday food. “But I should only have one plate,” you think. Deep down, you may worry about weight gain or being judged.

Remember this: You’re allowed to get more food. And so are the people around you.

“Be aware of ‘shoulds’ and ‘shouldn’ts’ that may come up for you,” said Allie Weiser, a licensed psychologist and the education and resource manager for The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness. “As soon as we do the opposite of what we think we ‘should’ do, we can again feel that guilt and shame like we have failed.”

Weiser explained that we may create food “rules” to give us a sense of structure and safety. We need something to control, and food is an easy target.

Instead, she encouraged listening to your body and trusting it. “Something to say is, ‘I am still hungry, and I really enjoyed XYZ. I am going to have some more and will try to focus on enjoying it,’” Weiser said. This can encourage others around you, too.

Then, practice a coping skill if you need to, such as texting a friend or taking deep breaths.

“The diet starts Monday!”

The dieting mindset is unhelpful for everyone. “Saying this each time you enjoy food sets you up for a never-ending cycle of feeling bad about what you eat, then try[ing] to fix it with a diet, only to start all over again,” said Marisa Moore, a culinary and integrative dietitian in Atlanta.

Moore recommends being mindful. “Tune in to what your body wants and enjoy the meal in the present. You’ll free up so much more mental space without having to feel like you need to go on a diet,” she said.

“Are you going to eat all of that?”

Food-shaming isn’t only something we do internally. It’s something we can inflict directly on others, too.

Asking someone if they’re going to eat everything on their plate — or if they’re sure they want another serving — is an example of that with long-lasting effects. Not only does it hurt the person who receives the comment, but it hurts people nearby, too.

“The message to the person on the receiving end of this comment is that they should question or doubt that they can determine what amount of food will satisfy their own body’s hunger,” said Desreen Dudley, a licensed clinical psychologist from Teladoc. “This can create self-doubt and [a] lack of confidence in any decisions one needs to make for themselves.”

What you need will differ from what someone else needs. “Everybody’s nutritional needs, food preferences and hunger/fullness levels are different, and these are based on a variety of factors,” Weiser said. “Remember, no one is better or worse for eating or not eating certain foods, or for consuming a certain amount of foods.”

Let people assess their own hunger and satiety levels. Connect on other topics and try to figure out what made you want to ask that question so you can address your personal needs.

“I was so bad for eating XYZ.”

Holiday meals are often full of yummy options. It’s hard to pick one dessert or side — and you don’t need to, anyway. So, after enjoying all those foods, when you’re thinking or saying, “I was so bad for eating XYZ,” remember that’s not true.

“This statement not only assigns moral value to food, it conflates what you eat with your character as a person,” Moore explained. And, in turn, it makes those around you have those same unnecessary concerns. Food doesn’t have moral value; all foods fit.

To meet your actual need behind this statement — such as feeling out of control or judged — focus on the taste and your loved ones. “Instead of using judgmental words, you might think or say how you chose to enjoy your favorite food this weekend,” Moore said.

Remind yourself of food’s many roles. “Food is neutral and meant for nourishment, as well as for pleasure, satisfaction, enjoyment and connection,” Weiser said. You “deserve to enjoy this holiday meal with family.”

If you struggle, that’s OK! Try to not get too discouraged. “Eventually, you won’t have to think about it and you’ll just remember how much you enjoyed it and move on,” Moore said.

“Ew, how can you eat that?”

You may not be a fan of everything on the table, but other people have different tastes.

“We all have different preferences in food diets, which sometimes reflect cultural or medical needs,” Dudley said. “To criticize someone’s food selection is not only insensitive, but it can lead to a person feeling dismissed or abnormal for their personal values, which may be reflected in their food choices.”

Rather than expressing your distaste, Dudley recommends saying, “I’m curious. What are you eating? I may like to try it.”

Remember, food-shaming comments aren’t about you, and they don’t have to define your life.

If you receive a food-shaming comment, remember it doesn’t actually have to do with who you are.

“In most cases, people usually comment on things they either don’t like about themselves or are jealous of others for having,” Clark said. “In this case, those people commenting on your food choices wish they felt the same sense of freedom around food. They wish it didn’t hold such a grasp on them.”

She encouraged talking to potentially triggering family members before the holidays about your boundaries and needs. And if you feel out of control, judgmental or have food “rules,” consider seeking professional support, such as a therapist or a free, virtual, therapist-led support group hosted by The Alliance for Eating Disorder Awareness.
