Ray Liotta Honored With Hollywood Star
The late Ray Liotta has been posthumously presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Ray Liotta’s all-around career made him a triple threat and sadly his passing was devastating to the entertainment world,” Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said in a statement. “The characters he portrayed will always be etched in Hollywood’s film history.” Elizabeth Banks, who directed Liotta in Cocaine Bear, and actor Taron Egerton, who starred with him in Black Bird, attended Friday’s ceremony to honor Liotta, who died last May at the age of 67. Karsen Liotta, the actor’s daughter accepted the star on his behalf. “I’m so touched to be accepting this honor on behalf of my dad. I couldn’t be more proud of him,” she said. “He was a one of a kind actor and the best friend, brother and father anyone could have asked for. I lucked out with you,” she added. “If you have a Ray in your life, you’re lucky. I love you so much. Thank you for your work and the imprint you left on me and all of those who love you. Everyone deserves a Ray in their life.”

Billie Eilish Gets Restraining Order
Billie Eilish has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who was found shirtless outside of her Los Angeles home. A judge ordered Raymond Black to stay at least 100 yards away from her and her house and to stop harassing her. Per the outlet, Black must also avoid going near the home of Eilish’s parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell. The judge stated that the restraining order was based on “a credible threat of violence or stalking.” On Monday night, Eilish returned home to allegedly find Black standing outside her living room window without a shirt on. When she turned on the lights, the man was reportedly gazing at her through the glass. After she contacted 911, cops searched the area and arrested Black nearby. The alleged stalker had reportedly been lurking around Eilish’s home last year while it was under construction. He also popped up at her parents’ residence looking for her.

Nick Cannon Says God Will Decide How Many Kids He Has
Nick Cannon said a higher power ultimately decides how many kids he’ll end up having. He recently welcomed his 12th child in December, and while he’s been on a steady breeding streak over the past few years, it seems as though he’s looking to pump the brakes. “God decides when we’re done, but I believe I definitely got my hands full,” he told “Entertainment Tonight” on Friday. “And I’m so focused. I’m locked in. But when I’m 85, you never know. I might [have more].” He became a father of 12 after Alyssa Scott gave birth to their baby girl, named Halo Marie. The pair also welcomed a son named Zen in April 2021; however, the infant died from brain cancer five months later. Cannon went on to welcome son Legendary, daughter Onyx, and son Rise with Bre Tiesi, Lanisha Cole, and Brittany Bell, respectively, in 2022. Bell, 35, gave birth to son Golden, 5, and daughter Powerful, 1, in February 2017 and December 2020, respectively. He also shares twins Zion and Zillion, 1, with Abby De La Rosa, as well as a baby girl named Beautiful Zeppelin whom the pair welcomed on November 11. Cannon became a dad in 2011 when he and then-wife Mariah Carey welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe, now 11.

Madonna’s eldest sibling, Anthony Ciccone, has died. He was 66. Musician Joe Henry, who is married to Madonna’s sister Melanie Ciccone, made the sad announcement via Instagram Saturday. “My brother-in-law, Anthony Gerard Ciccone, exited this earthly plane last evening. I’ve known him since I was 15, in the spring of our lives in Michigan so many years now gone,” Henry captioned a black-and-white photo of his late family member. “As brother Dave Henry (who took this photograph) notes here, Anthony was a complex character; and god knows: we tangled in moments, as true brothers can. But I loved him, and understood him better than I was sometimes willing to let on. Henry added that while “trouble fades,” family remains – with “hands reached” across the table. “Farewell, then, brother Anthony. I want to think the god your blessed mother (and mine) believed in has her there, waiting to receive you,” he continued. “At least for today, no one shall dissuade me from this vision.” Madonna, who is one of eight children, grew up in Michigan, where her older brother was believed to have been residing when he died.

Queen Consort Camilla is reportedly getting a title change that appears to go against the wishes of her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II. The change in title will likely come after the May coronation of King Charles III, the Daily Mail reported Saturday, citing unnamed sources. The former Camilla Parker-Bowles has been married to King Charles since 2005 and had been known as the Duchess of Cornwall until Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September. When Charles ascended to the throne, she became Queen Consort. The latest change in title goes against the dictate of the late queen, who outlined her wishes for Camilla in a February 2022 letter. “And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when the time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service,” the queen wrote. The statement seemed to settle the issue of how Camilla would be addressed. A signal of an impending change came last week when Camilla’s charity was rebranded as the “Queen’s Reading Room” rather than the “Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room.”

Senior Home Recreates Rihanna Super Bowl Halftime Show
One senior living center in Kentucky has taken on a popular TikTok trend involving Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime performance. In the weeks since the Super Bowl, fans on social media have been inspired by choreography from the singer’s performance and have re-created the moves on TikTok. Among those attempting the dance moves have been the cast of “Hamilton” in Australia, as well as residents of Arcadia Senior Living Bowling Green. On the assisted living facility’s official TikTok account, a short video featuring several residents has since gone viral, amassing over 18 million views and 2.4 million likes since it was posted just two days ago. The residents, who all wore white ensembles to coordinate with Rihanna’s dancers from the performance, got in line side-by-side while a remix of the singer’s 2009 hit “Rude Boy” played. As part of the trend, the residents broke out of line to the left and right, revealing one final resident portraying Rihanna in an entirely red ensemble as she prepared for her solo. “Our halftime show > Rihanna’s halftime show,” the caption of the post read. Turtle Gets LEGO Legs
A Mississippi box turtle that lost his back legs is getting around on his own again thanks to a set of wheels custom built by a team of young Lego enthusiasts. The turtle, named Lt. Dan in honor of the legless character from Forest Gump, was brought to the Central Mississippi Turtle Rescue in September after losing his back legs due to being hit by a car. Jennifer Westrich took Lt. Dan home as a foster pet. “These are marks from just scrapes, wear and tear, from only having the two legs because he can’t really get his shell up off the ground,” Westrich told WREG-TV. The First Lego League in Desoto County, which is composed of schoolchildren ages 9 to 14, took on the task of restoring Lt. Dan’s mobility. The team worked for two hours to assemble Lego pieces into a sturdy wheelchair for the turtle. See the video HERE.

Indian actor Akshay Kumar broke a Guinness World Record by snapping selfies with 184 fans in 3 minutes. Kumar took on the record for most selfies taken in 3 minutes at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. More than 240 fans split into two lines and Kumar stood between them, so he could quickly pivot and snap a new selfie with another fan. Kumar took 209 photos in the allotted time, but some were disqualified due to poor quality. He successfully broke the record with 184 selfies, beating British man James Smith’s record of 168. Cryptocurrency Mining Found In Crawl Space
A former employee of a Massachusetts town is facing charges of allegedly setting up a secret cryptocurrency mining operation in a remote crawl space at a school, police said. Nadeam Nahas was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges of fraudulent use of electricity and vandalizing a school, but he did not show up and a judge issued a default warrant after rejecting a defense motion to reschedule, a spokesperson for the Norfolk district attorney’s office said. Police responded to Cohasset Middle/High School in December 2021 after the town’s facilities director found electrical wires, temporary duct work, and numerous computers that seemed out of place while conducting a routine inspection of the school, Chief William Quigley of the Cohasset Police Department said in a statement Wednesday. He contacted the town’s IT director, who determined that it was a cryptocurrency mining operation unlawfully hooked up to the school’s electrical system, Quigley said.

Travel Trends In 2023: The Vacation ‘Musts’ Most Recommended By Americans

Forty-two percent of Americans never went on vacation as a kid, according to new research. A survey of 2,000 U.S. adults showed that while 51 percent went on their first trip before they turned 18, a third of Americans didn’t take a vacation until early adulthood. Baby boomers were the most likely to experience vacationing for the first time as young kids (43%) while millennials (46%) and Gen Z (45%) took their first trip as adolescents.
Vacation FOMO
The survey also looked at people’s feelings about vacation FOMO and found that the average person has been on six vacations purely for leisure and relaxation in their life and is longing for more. Nearly half admit they have left a vacation feeling unsatisfied (46%) but have made peace with those feelings, as 76 percent agree that it’s impossible to do and see everything on a trip. This leaves a quarter of Americans daydreaming about traveling most of the week (24%), averaging six destinations on their “I’ll go there someday!” list.
‘Must-Do’ Trips in 2023
Respondents in the survey conducted by OnePoll for Funjet Vacations shared some “must-do” trips everyone should consider like casino-hopping and gambling for a weekend in Las Vegas (46%), seeing Mount Rushmore in South Dakota (38%) visiting Disney World Resort in Florida (36%).
Others suggest more experiential trips like visiting a volcano in Hawaii (29%), exploring the Greek Islands (19%), visiting the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt (17%) or swimming with the pigs in the Bahamas (17%). Looking at what’s trending in travel, those surveyed think people will be traveling more in 2023 than in 2022 (45%) with two in three saying they plan on taking at least two trips this year and spending an average of $4,000. Nostalgia plays a major factor in deciding where to go, as respondents named some previously popular destinations that may make a comeback like the Bahamas, California or New York. In fact, Gen Zers said that California and the Caribbean were some of the most popular vacation destinations among their generation right now. Millennials are looking to more long-haul destinations like Dubai and France.
For Gen X respondents and baby boomers, this year is all about relaxing in peaceful places like Florida and Hawaii. “The ‘perfect vacation’ can differ from one couple to another,” says vice president of sales, North America at Couples Resorts, Pauline Pigott, in a statement. “Some want to do it all and others prefer to simply relax on the beach with a piña colada in hand. Whatever your preference, an all-inclusive is a great option for those who want to create their own unforgettable experience.”
When a vacation isn’t a vacation
But sometimes a “trip away” isn’t always a “vacation.” When asked what makes a vacation different from a trip away, people said the main difference is being away from home for a certain amount of time (54%), with the average person agreeing that a vacation is at least seven days long. For others, vacations are more about going somewhere they’ve never been before (53%) or experiencing something new (52%). One in five predict that vacationers will be more interested in outdoor settings this year like camping or staying in cabins. Americans are also interested in “set-jetting” this year, where they visit places where their favorite TV shows or movies were filmed (59%), with 44 percent saying they’ve already been on one of these trips. “After the travel-induced stress people have experienced over the past couple of years, more people are booking all-inclusive and packaged vacations,” says vice president of marketing of consumer brands at Apple Leisure Group, Dana Studebaker, in a statement. “Booking an entire vacation through a site helps to take the stress of planning away so travelers can instead just be excited for their vacation instead of worrying about every small detail.”

This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 general population Americans was commissioned by Funjet Vacations between Jan. 30 and Feb. 1, 2023.
