Larry King Passes

Larry King died Saturday at a hospital in Los Angeles, his production company announced. He was 87.  A statement from Ora Media didn’t give a cause of death, but he had been receiving treatment for COVID-19.  “With profound sadness, Ora Media announces the death of our co-founder, host and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,” the production company said. His career in radio, TV, newspapers and digital media lasted more than six decades and earned him induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame, an Emmy Award, two Peabody Awards and 10 Cable ACE Awards.  The native New Yorker most notably hosted Larry King Live from 1985 to 2010 on CNN, then Larry King Now from 2012 to 2020 on Hulu and RT America. He never formally retired.  King is survived by his children Larry Jr., Chance and Cannon. Two of his children, Andy and Chaia, died in 2020.  King filed for divorce from Shawn, his seventh spouse, in August 2019 after about 22 years of marriage.  King suffered several heart attacks and underwent quintuple bypass surgery in 1987.  Funeral arrangements and a memorial service were being planned by the family.

Bond Movie Pushed Again!

Producers of “No Time to Die,” the latest upcoming installment of the James Bond franchise, have delayed its theatrical release yet again. The movie, which was slated to open April 2, will now hit theaters Oct. 8 because of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.  The official 007 Twitter account said late Thursday that the 25th installment in the franchise will now open on Oct. 8.  “No Time To Die” was originally slated to open in April 2020 but was pushed back to November of that year as the virus swept around the world. It was then delayed again to April 2, 2021.  The move comes as coronavirus cases continue to spike, particularly in the U.S.  MGM will handle distribution in North America and Universal will roll out the film internationally. Reps for the companies did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment. Per Variety, “No Time to Die” cost around $200 million and will need to be an international success to make money on the flick, especially considering an advertising campaign was nearly completed in the past.

Stallone Selling L.A. Mansion

Sylvester Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin are leaving Los Angeles for Palm Beach, Florida, and have listed their mega mansion in Beverly Hills Park for a jaw-dropping $130 million.  He purchased the 3.5-acre spread in the 1990’s and build a custom mansion clocking in at 21,000 square feet with a tax bill of more than $125,000, according to Dirt.com.  The main home is an eight-bedroom and 12-bath mansion which a massive library/office with a barrel-vaulted ceiling. Stallone has it decked out with a ton of “Rocky” memorabilia, which isn’t likely included with the house. There’s also a “Rocky” statue, with his gloved hands raised in triumph that is guarding an arched window, the site notes.  Neighbors include Denzel Washington, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, Paul Reiser, Eddie Murphy, Rod Stewart, Magic Johnson and Mark Wahlberg. It’s believed Stallone and Flavin are leaving California for Palm Beach, where, late last year, they snapped up a $354 million waterfront estate.

Phil Collins Finally Sells His Mansion

Phil Collins has evicted his ex-wife and found a buyer.  An anonymous new owner has a pending sale for the house at an unknown price, according to the listing.   He listed his 1.2-acre property for $40 million in December while it was still occupied — by his ex-wife Orianne Cevey and her new husband, Thomas Bates.  Cevey didn’t make it easy. She allegedly blocked a listing agent from showing the property last year. But in October, Cevey agreed to leave the 10,769-square-foot house by January 21 per a partial settlement of Collin’s lawsuit designed to end the couple’s armed-guard occupation of the house. Collins’ charges against the hunkered-down couple, which he dropped in exchange for their exodus from the property, included unlawful detainer and forcible entry. Cevey alleges Collins verbally promised her half-ownership of the house, and the divorced couple, which has two children together, is still in litigation.  Cevey and Bates purchased a new $5.5 million waterfront property in Fort Lauderdale.

Carole Baskin Feels Cheated By Netflix

Carole Baskin became a household name in 2020 thanks to Netflix‘s release of “Tiger King.” But she still claims they delivered a portrayal of her that wasn’t genuine.  She spoke to Fox News last week where she reflected on skyrocketing to fame seemingly overnight. Shortly after “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” was released in March 2020, viewers jumped to question Baskin’s motives, a result brought on in part by claims made by her rival on the series, Joe Exotic.  She said Netflix left her blindsided.  “I felt betrayed by them,” Baskin admits. “We worked with the producers for five years. When they came to us they said what they were working on was ‘Blackfish’ for big cats. ‘Blackfish’ showed just a horrible, horrible life for dolphins and whales being kept in these concrete pools. After it, the whole industry of whale shows and stealing whales and putting them in aquariums came to a halt. To do the same for big cats, we thought [a documentary] exposing how the cub petting is so cruel would be great.”  “We were all on board,” Baskin continued. “In fact, they said the name of their show was going to be ‘Stolen Wildlife’ and they said Joe would be in it but in five minutes of it.”  Baskin claims producers failed to mention their decision to careen off course. Instead of exposing big cat cruelty, she said Netflix created a show that spawned a feud with Exotic that doesn’t exist.
********That’s it!! Those producers are going in the meat grinder!!

Wheel Falls Off Plane

Authorities in Chicago confirmed a wheel fell off a small plane over the city and landed in the front yard of a resident’s home.  The Chicago Department of Aviation said a single-engine Pilatus PC-12 plane was noticed shooting off sparks as it landed Thursday evening at O’Hare International Airport. After it safely came to a stop, officials noted the landing gear assembly from the left side of the aircraft was missing.  Police, meanwhile, responded to the Jefferson Park neighborhood on reports airplane landing gear having fallen on the residential area. Neighbors said the wheel made a loud noise as it crashed to the ground in a resident’s front yard, between the house and another home.  Residents said no one was injured by the wheel and there were no reports of significant property damage.

Bigfoot Hunting Season Proposed

An Oklahoma state representative introduced a bill that would establish a hunting season for one of the state’s most infamous species of alleged native wildlife: Bigfoot.  Rep. Justin Humphrey, R-District 19, introduced a bill to the state legislature that would call on the Oklahoma Wildlife Commission to designate a Bigfoot hunting season.  Bigfoot has been the subject of numerous sightings in southern Oklahoma for years, and the region hosts an annual Bigfoot festival for fans.  “The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission shall promulgate rules establishing a Bigfoot hunting season. The Commission shall set annual season dates and create any necessary specific hunting licenses and fees,” the bill states.  The bill, if passed by the legislature and signed by the governor, would take effect Nov. 1.

Knife Wielding Squirrel

A Toronto woman captured video when she looked into her backyard and was confronted with a bizarre sight: a squirrel holding a knife.  Andrea Diamond, who lives in the Rosedale area of Toronto, said squirrels are a common sight in her back yard, but Wednesday morning she spotted a squirrel that had picked up a paring knife she had left near a tent outside her home.  “So apparently knife wielding squirrels are a thing now,” Diamond tweeted along with footage of the squirrel.  She said the rodent gnawed on the knife handle for a while before abandoning the tool. She said the animal returned a short time later to chew on the knife a little longer.  See the video HERE.

A LIST FOR MONDAY

LARRY KING’S EX-WIVES CLUB

NYPOST

Shawn Southwick

(married 1997; separated 2019)
King’s longest marriage was also his last — and the only one that lasted. Though King filed for divorce from Southwick, 61, in 2019, they were reportedly still married at the time of King’s death. They have two sons, Chance, 21, and Cannon, 20.

The two married in a hospital room in 1997 just before he underwent surgery to clear a blocked blood vessel. Southwick, a show biz vet with a background in acting and singing on TV shows in the 1970s and ’80s, was the daughter of a longtime music manager.

Though the marriage was rocky, due in part to their 26-year age difference and Southwick’s rumored infidelity (including a reported dalliance with her son’s baseball coach), Southwick appeared devastated when she learned King had filed for divorce. “I was crushed, I had no idea that this was coming, it hurt yeah. I was totally blindsided.”

Julie Alexander

(married 1989; divorced 1992)

King met businesswoman Julie Alexander and fell head over heels. He married her later that year in Washington, D.C. But it was over almost as fast as it began. They separated in 1990 and divorced two years later. Alexander told “Inside Edition” in 2010 that she suspected King had cheated on her.

Sharon Lepore

(married 1976; divorced 1983)
Lepore, a former math teacher and TV production assistant, was among King’s lowest-profile wives. It was King’s second-longest marriage but also the most private. They were both mum on why they divorced.

Mickey Sutphin

(married 1963; divorced 1967)

The two reportedly met while working at a radio station in Miami and had a daughter, Kelly, who apparently was adopted by Sutphin’s second husband.

Alene Akins

(married 1961; divorced 1963. Remarried 1967; divorced 1972)

A former Playboy Bunny, Akins married King twice — with his marriage to Mickey Sutphin in between. They had a daughter, Chaia, and King adopted her son, Andy. Akins died in 2017, and King called her a “grand lady” in a tweet. Both Chaia, then 51, and Andy, then 65, died in 2020. Chaia died from lung cancer and Andy from a heart attack.

Annette Kaye

(married 1961; divorced 1961)

Their marriage lasted just one year but produced a son, Larry Jr., now 59. Larry King Jr. was in his 30s when he met his father. Kaye told King about their shared child in 1994 when she was dying of lung cancer.

Freda Miller

(married 1952; annulled 1953)

King married his high school sweetheart Freda Miller when he was only 18. The marriage was annulled, apparently at her parents’ request because they did not approve of the union.
