Jeremy Renner Continues To Heal After Snow Plow Accident

Jeremy Renner shared on his Instagram Stories a photo of him in his hospital bed surrounded by medical staff.  “Thank You Renowned Medical ICU team for beginning this journey,” Renner captioned Friday’s photo.  He also posted a video of people holding up signs with his name while 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” song, with the line “Party like it’s your birthday,” playing in the background.  “Thank You For the Birthday Love !!!” Renner wrote.  He turned 52 Saturday.  He was hospitalized in critical, but stable, condition in an intensive care unit Sunday morning after he suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries in the incident near his home on Mt. Rose Highway, about 25 minutes from downtown Reno.  His representative said Monday that he had undergone surgery.  Renner used his Sno-Cat, also known as a PistenBully, to free a vehicle driven by a family member from the snow, but the 14,000-pound plow began rolling and he tried to jump into the driver’s seat to stop it.  “Based on the investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistonBully” sheriffs said.

Is Brad Pitt Calling It Quits?

Brad Pitt is seemingly taking a step back from Hollywood. He reportedly sold a majority of his stake in his production company Plan B last month. He co-founded the company with his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, back in 2001. The report revealed that he sold off 60 percent of his stake in his production company Plan B to a French media conglomerate. The publication also cited a source as saying, “Brad has decided that he wants to live a peaceful life going forward and is deciding what ‘semi-retirement’ looks like for him. One thing he’s decided is that he will likely continue acting.”  Furthermore, the report also cited another source as saying, “He is considering leaving Hollywood and moving to France and doing his vineyard and art and making furniture… He just wants to live in peace. He would sell his production company, Plan B. It would be leaving Hollywood on a high note.”
*********If he wanted to live in peace, he shouldn’t have married Angelina Jolie!!
********We’re worried.. will he be able to find any women to date??

Billy Bush In Hot Water Again

Billy Bush has been caught making another controversially crude remark, six years after his first hot moment scandal with former President Donald Trump.  The “Extra” host can be heard in audio obtained by the Daily Beast on Friday joking on set of the entertainment news show about Kendall Jenner’s “Toy Story”-inspired Halloween costume.  “Kendall goes as Jessie and, believe me, there were a lot of woodies,” Bush says during the Oct. 31 taping, making a quip that references the Pixar film’s lead character, Woody.  The remark elicited a lot of laughter from others in the room, which according to the Daily Beast, were producers.  A spokesperson for Telepictures, the show’s production company, explains to us, “As with many forms of production in the entertainment industry, the show’s creative process allows the flexibility to try different jokes and banter.  “In the end, some material lands on the cutting room floor, including remarks that may be too edgy to air on broadcast television.”   A lawsuit widely known in Hollywood as the “Friends” case aims to protect creatives’ use of free speech throughout their collaboration process, which is what was taking place when Bush made the comment about Jenner.  A source adds, “There was no malicious intent on Bush’s part as he was working through material in the show’s normal creative process.”
*********The only thing made of wood is Billy’s brain!!!
*******Funny thing is.. WE would have used the line on-air!!
*******Donald Trump called for Billy to be cancelled!! Just kidding!!

Eight Is Enough Star Dies

Adam Rich, best known for starring in “Eight Is Enough,” has died. He was 54.  He died Saturday at his Los Angeles area home, a family member confirmed to TMZ.  A cause of death has yet to be revealed but there was reportedly no foul play, a law enforcement source told the outlet, adding that Rich was found lifeless by an unidentified person who came to his residence.  Born Oct. 12, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York, Rich rose to fame in the ’70s after portraying Nicholas Bradford, the youngest son of the Bradford brood, on “Eight Is Enough.”  The ABC show, which also starred Dick Van Patten, Lani O’Grady, Connie Needham, Grant Goodeve and more, ran from 1977 to 1981.  He made headlines over the years due to substance abuse struggles. He was arrested in 1991 for smashing a pharmacy window to obtain drugs – and was bailed out by his former TV dad, Van Patten.  He was arrested again in 2002 on charges of driving under the influence after nearly striking a California Highway Patrol car. Per CBS News, Rich denied the charges at the time, telling reporters, “I’ve been sober for 10 years.”

Royal Family Sets Up Prince Harry War Room

The royal family’s senior advisers set up a “war room” to deal with any potential fallout from Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir.  Top staff even discussed the situation at Sandringham Estate, where the royal family gathered to celebrate their first Christmas without Queen Elizabeth, we’re told.  Insiders say a plan was drawn up to deal with the explosive revelations expected not just from Harry’s book, but also in his sit down with Anderson Cooper on CBS “60 Minutes”, which will be swiftly followed by an interview on ITV, “Good Morning America” and “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert.  The royals and their staff racked their brains to come up with every possible story that Harry would include in his tome — and were said to be well aware he would recount his fight with William, where he claims that his brother knocked him into a dog bowl during a fight over Meghan Markle.  One highly placed insider says: “There were undoubtedly fears about what Harry was going to write, and in particular they were worried about the highly personal moments of their lives being retold. “The King wanted to move ahead with the traditional ‘stiff upper lip’ attitude and follow in the Queen’s famous footsteps of ‘never complain, never explain’, but the Prince of Wales argued that perhaps the family should, in fact, go on the offensive and release a statement, much in the same way he said ‘We are very much not a racist family’, but he was overruled by his father.”  The UK Daily Telegraph also confirmed the palace was on a “war footing” ahead of the book’s release, adding that after reading excerpts of the book, their worst fears were not realized.
*********According to reports, Harry reveals 1) he’s circumcised and 2) he lost his virginity in a muddy field behind a pub! (true)
********If he brings his colonoscopy video to 60 Minutes, that’s a home run!!

Cat Gets Loose During Flight

A passenger aboard a United flight from Dallas to San Francisco captured video of a flight attendant asking an important question: “Anybody missing a cat?”  The video, posted to TikTok by user @david.hislop, shows the crew member carrying the cat down the aisle of the Boeing 737 after the feline broke free of its carrier.  “Anybody missing a cat?” the crew member asks.  The flight attendant places the struggling feline on the floor before locating the cat’s apparent owner.  “We’re gonna need you to come and claim that,” she says to the person.  See the video HERE.

Big Hand Sanitizer Fire

Firefighters in Los Angeles battled an unusual blaze when several pallets of hand sanitizer caught fire in a parking lot.  The Los Angeles Fire Department said crews responded to what was initially thought to be a trash fire Monday afternoon in a downtown parking lot, but the firefighters soon discovered the small blaze actually was caused by several pallets of hand sanitizer.  “The product is confirmed to be hand sanitizer, which is clean burning,” the department said in an alert. “The safest operation is to allow the product to burn off while ensuring it does not damage any vehicles.”  See the video HERE.

5 Signs Your ‘Dry January’ Should Be Permanent

Huffington Post

  1. You realize all you’ve missed out on because of drinking.

While alcohol is something many of us turn to when we feel upset, want to have fun or need to wind down, it can also limit our lives. For example, when you’re drunk, you can’t drive to a Zumba class or play with your baby niece.  “Dry January presents a host of opportunities to experience what we otherwise might have missed out on,” said Brook McKenzie, the chief operating officer at Renewal Lodge by Burning Tree, an addiction treatment center. With all that extra time you had during Dry January, he explained, you might have gotten to try something new and exciting.

Further, you might recognize all you missed out on — either in general or sober. “Often, due to the prevalence of alcohol in our culture, people can go years — even decades — without having experienced things like a first kiss, an intimate conversation, a child’s first steps, a movie, meal, birthday, [or] Christmas without the use of alcohol,” said James Hartley, a U.K.-based counselor who’s been sober for three and a half years.

  1. Your interests change.

According to Hartley, you may find your old interests boring or need to re-find the value of something without a drink.  “Enjoying yourself without alcohol takes some relearning, and you might find that some things you thought you enjoyed, you actually don’t, and you might find that you start developing new interests,” he said.

For example, you might find more value in small group gatherings than parties, or enjoy playing recreational soccer over drinking alone at home.

  1. You feel better emotionally, mentally and physically.

As you probably know, alcohol can make you feel groggy, moody and nauseous, to start. So, abstaining from it has many benefits.  “You might experience an increase in energy, alertness, positive thinking, less depressed symptoms, more restful sleep and overall an improvement in your well-being,” said Cathrin Moeller, a licensed marriage and family therapist with Thriveworks in Colorado Springs, Colorado, who specializes in addiction, depression, coping skills, stress and relationships.

Elena Touroni, a consultant psychologist and co-founder of The Chelsea Psychology Clinic, explained how this works: “As we all know, alcohol is a depressant and it impacts our brain’s ‘happy’ hormones, like serotonin and dopamine,” she said. “One of the benefits of cutting out alcohol is that you’re likely to feel more balanced in mood, less anxious, etc.” Those changes may help you at your job, too, as work feels more doable and less stressful.

  1. Your relationships have improved.

Since alcohol can take us away from friends, family, special events and more, you may have noticed the deepening of your relationships in Dry January.  “People are coming around [you] more, they are [giving] positive feedback that drinking less has been good for them, and [your] interactions with people are more genuine and less superficial,” said Kendall Phillips, a licensed professional counselor.  Connecting with others in a meaningful way is vital to our well-being. It can lengthen your life, strengthen your immune system and lower levels of anxiety and depression.

  1. Staying away from alcohol was difficult for you.

If you notice distressing emotions come up more than they have in other months — and wish you could quiet them with a drink — that could be because you used alcohol to numb them in the past, according to Moeller.  “If that is the case, it is important to seek support in working through this with a licensed mental health professional,” she added.  Ultimately, it comes down to dependence. “The main difference between social drinking and being a ‘problem drinker’ is reliance,” Touroni said. Some signs of reliance she shared are struggling without having alcohol to turn to, thinking about alcohol a lot and feeling like you need it in social situations.

“If during this period a person is having physical, emotional or psychological cravings and withdrawals, this does signify a more serious problem,” added Dee Johnson, an addiction therapist based at Priory Hospital Chelmsford in the U.K. As a result, staying away from alcohol may be especially difficult — and something you need professional help with, she said, as Dry January can be dangerous for people whose bodies are addicted to alcohol.

Do those signs necessarily mean you’re dealing with addiction?

The short answer: No. However, continuing to pay attention to your relationship with alcohol is crucial.   “Alcohol misuse is usually a slow burner that increases subtly over time, to the point that as physical tolerance levels slowly increase, it is quite common for the realization to hit that there really is an issue only at crisis or near to [the] crisis point,” Johnson said.  (FYI, the signs of alcoholism include feeling powerless to alcohol, drinking in high-risk situations, developing a tolerance, noticing withdrawal symptoms without it, facing problems in your personal and professional life because of your need for alcohol, and more.) Also, Johnson added, you don’t have to drink “every day” or “just the hard stuff” to have an addiction.  Truth be told, we all have something we turn to when we need to cope: sex, food, alcohol, yoga, friends. To some degree, that’s normal and OK. The problem is when it interferes with your life and well-being.

“What’s important is the relationship you have to that thing and whether, in the long term, that is preventing you from living a fuller and more contented life,” Hartley added. “Whether you term yourself as ‘an addict’ is irrelevant: The truth is, you have a problem with the way things currently are, and it may be worthwhile having a go at changing that a little.”

Tips For Exploring A Sober Lifestyle

Regardless of how you define your relationship with alcohol, what can help you avoid it (especially when it’s basically everywhere)? Here are some options, straight from these experts:

  • Working with a therapist
  • Asking your family and friends to support you
  • Practicing new coping skills
  • Leaning in to your religion or spirituality
  • Finding new hobbies and interests
  • Asking someone to be your accountability partner
  • Attending meetings focused on quitting alcohol
  • Not going to bars
  • Taking it one day at a time
  • Thinking about how much better you feel
  • Brainstorming your goals (those related to staying sober and other ones).

If you slip up, be gentle with yourself. This happens, and your hard work isn’t lost. “It is part of the journey to experience setbacks, as with any goal,” Moeller said. “Think of it as part of the journey versus a failure.”
