Nick Cannon’s Talk Show Delayed
Nick Cannon’s planned TV talk show has been postponed until 2021, due to his recent anti-Semitic remarks and subsequent apology. ViacomCBS ended its decades-long relationship with Cannon this week, denouncing as “hateful speech” his comments about Jewish people on his podcast. After Cannon apologized for his “hurtful” comments, Fox said it would not fire him from his job as host of The Masked Singer. On Friday, the producers of Cannon’s syndicated talk show, which was slated to premiere this fall, said they are pushing back its release date. “After conversations with Nick, we do believe that his public comments don’t reflect his true feelings and his apology is heartfelt and sincere,” Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury said in a statement. “We want to continue the healing process as he meets with leaders of the Jewish community and engages in a dialogue with our distribution partners to hear their views. We are standing by Nick in our hope that by fall 2021 he will be able to use his extraordinary talent and platform to entertain, enlighten and unite his audience on the Nick Cannon talk show,” they added. “Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury condemn anti-Semitism, racism and hate speech. It runs counter to everything we stand for.”

Alex Trebek Gives Summer Show and Health Update
Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek announced Thursday that his cancer treatment is going well. He recorded a video message posted on the official Jeopardy! social media. “I’m doing well. I’ve been continuing my treatment and it is paying off, though it does fatigue me a great deal,” Trebek said. “My numbers are good. I’m feeling great.” He came forward with his diagnosis of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March of 2019. He has undergone chemotherapy treatments but continues to host the game show. In March 2020, Trebek shared a video on the anniversary of his diagnosis, saying 18% of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer patients survive the first year. Jeopardy! is currently on hiatus due to COVID-19 production shutdowns. In the meantime, Trebek says in the video that he is recording new introduction segments for some classic episodes the game show will air. See the message HERE.

Meghan Blames Tabloids For Bad Dad Relationship
Meghan Markle is putting the blame for her doomed relationship with her dad squarely on the shoulders of the British tabloids. Lawyers for Meghan said she and her dad Thomas Markle “had a very close father/daughter relationship throughout her childhood and remained close until he was targeted three years ago by intrusive UK tabloid media,” according to court documents obtained by The Guardian. Markle is suing the Mail on Sunday for publishing a handwritten letter she sent to her father. Markle’s lawyers claim she provided her father with “substantial” financial support between 2014-18 with funds she received from the TV show “Suits,” but stopped after their relationship broke down shortly before her wedding to Prince Harry. Meghan and Harry were furious when it was revealed that Thomas Markle had secretly collaborated with a British paparazzo to stage lucrative photos of himself preparing for their wedding. Friends of Markle’s claim the Mail on Sunday is “abusing” the British court system by forcing her to disclose personal information — and then using that information to generate headlines. The Mail on Sunday’s lawyers recently asked Markle to “provide evidence that she had provided financial support to her father, implying she had not repaid a student loan her father had taken out to support her university education,” according to The Guardian.

“Tiger King” star Carole Baskin is showing her wilder side on Cameo. On Thursday, 50 Cent posted a video on Instagram featuring Baskin and her husband Howard doing what can safely be called their very best rendition of the rapper’s seminal song from 2003, the birthday anthem “In Da Club.” “This song wasn’t music it was magic,” 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, wrote in the caption of the post. “It went everywhere in the world then never went away everyday is somebody’s birthday.” The Baskins’ performance of the so-called other “birthday song” earned over 850,000 views on 50 Cent’s Instagram account. 50 added also added, “but the shit it did to Murder inc Lol #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” in reference to his notorious beef with the record label and its artists. The song earned the G-Unit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 year-end list. Elsewhere on social media, Cardi B retweeted Twitter user @claire_chair, who boasted that she’d presented her father with a Cameo video of Baskin singing Lil’ Duval’s “Smile (Living My Best Life)” for his 60th birthday. “Wait a damn minute …..Ya better not be plotting on me,” tweeted Cardi. Joey Lawrence and his wife Chandie are separating after nearly 15 years of marriage. He filed for divorce at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, according to TMZ. They tied the knot at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, in 2005. The couple share two daughters: 14-year-old Charleston and 10-year-old Liberty. Joey does not have any pictures of his soon-to-be ex-wife on social media, but he posted a sweet tribute to their girls on Father’s Day. “My reason for life,” he wrote in June. “My greatest blessings. Ellen Show Rumors Heat Up
Executive producers of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” reportedly had no choice but to address allegations of its toxic workplace environment following Fox News’ published interview with a bodyguard who documented his unsavory experience with the host. One employee still working for the production company behind DeGeneres’ talk show claimed to Buzzfeed News that Thomas Majercak’s exclusive interview with Fox News left execs scrambling to combat the accusations head-on after weeks of remaining silent. “A current employee told BuzzFeed News that on May 1, the same day the story about the former bodyguard was published, executive producers took the rare move of holding an all-staff meeting over Zoom to address the negative stories and low morale,” the report said. Ten additional former employees of the long-running show spoke on anonymity to the outlet with additional nightmarish claims about what it’s like working for DeGeneres and top producers. Many backed up claims made by Majercak, who say that he experienced DeGeneres’ “cold” and “demeaning” behavior while protecting her at the 2014 Oscars ceremony. One former employee lambasted the show for using its positive content and charitable donations to guests as a way of masking the negative behavior taking place off-camera. Another employee said the “‘be kind’ bulls–t” occurs “only” when cameras are rolling. Others alleged that they were axed from their jobs for taking bereavement days or medical leave, with one former employee claiming they took one month off to receive mental support for a suicide attempt. That employee returned to the office just to be told their position had been eliminated, the report said.

The famous pair, who haven’t been photographed in public since March, avoided posting any full-length snaps of Biel to social media during the later stages of the pregnancy. Golden Girls Home For Sale
A Southern California house made famous by outdoor shots in the first season of classic sitcom The Golden Girls is listed for sale for the first time, with an asking price of a tad below $3 million. The Los Angeles house, listed for $2,999,000 by real estate firm Douglas Elliman, served as the exterior of the house shared by the titular women for the first season of the 1985-1992 sitcom, before a replica was constructed on a studio lot for subsequent seasons. The owner of the house, James Barry said it is the first time the four-bedroom home has been listed for sale since his parents, David Noble Barry III and Margaret Carr Barry, had it built in 1955. He said his parents received a small fee for allowing shots of the house to be used in the show. Barry said only the exterior of the house was used for filming, but the floor plan the series’ designers made on a sound stage was based on the actual floor plan of the home.

Lost Dog Returns To Former Home
A dog that went missing from her family’s Kansas home turned up about a week later at the front door of her family’s former home — 60 miles away in Missouri. Colton Michael said family members returned to their home in Lawson, Mo., recently and were surprised to find a dog on their porch. Michael, who moved into the home two years ago, said he was even more surprised when he had the canine’s microchip checked and discovered Cleo, the 4-year-old golden retriever, belonged to the house’s former residents. Michael discovered Cleo’s owner, Drew Feeback, had posted on Facebook about a week earlier that the canine was missing from the family’s home in Olathe, Kansas. Both families said they are at a loss to explain Cleo’s long journey, as she would have had to cross a river to make it back to her former home.

Drones Catch Nude Sunbathers
A Minnesota police department confirmed officers are now using drones to catch people going nude or topless at an area beach. The Golden Valley Police Department confirmed officers working with Minneapolis Parks Police used a drone to catch beachgoers in the act of going partially or fully nude at Twin Lake, just west of Theodore Wirth Park, after numerous complaints. “It had reached the point where it was time for people to be held accountable for their actions,” Golden Valley Police Sgt. Randy Mahlen told WCCO-TV. Witnesses said they spotted the drone in the sky shortly before police arrived and took information from then-clothed beach visitors for potential citations. “What it did was validate all of these complaints we’ve been getting from residents,” Mahlen said. “It would be no different than a surveillance camera in a public place for a high-crime area.” See the video HERE.

Teen Gets Stuck In Baby Swing
Firefighters rescued a British teenager after she climbed into a baby swing to shoot a TikTok video and got stuck. Layani Maclean, 14, of Oxfordshire, was filming a TikTok video with friends at an Oxfordshire playground when she climbed into the baby swing and found herself unable to climb back out. The girl’s mother, Charlie Maclean called the fire department when she was unable to free her daughter. A video of the rescue shows firefighters removing the swing from its hinges so the teenager could be extracted with the help of some liquid soap. Charlie Maclean said she is planning to bake a cake to thank the firefighters.

Nintendo Game Sells Big
A sealed copy of 1985 video game Super Mario Bros. set a new world record when it was auctioned for $114,000 — the highest price ever paid for a video game. Heritage Auctions said the copy of the Nintendo Entertainment System game was considered especially rare because it was part of a short production run with a cardboard hang-tab underneath the plastic, a feature found shortly after Nintendo started using shrink-wrap instead of stickers to steal boxes. “The demand for this game was extremely high, and if any lot in the sale could hit a number like that, it was going to be this one,” Heritage Auctions Video Games Director Valarie McLeckie said. Heritage said the winning bid of $114,000 set a new record for the sale of a video game, which was previously set by another copy of the same game that sold for $100,150 in February 2019.
