Chris Harrison Not Returning As Host
ABC announced that Chris Harrison will not return as host of the upcoming 17th season of The Bachelorette. Emmanuel Acho replaced Harrison as host of the Bachelor Season 25 After the Final Rose special after Harrison said last month that he was temporarily stepping away from the franchise. The move followed a backlash Harrison sparked for defending Bachelor contestant Rachel Kirkconnell when she was blasted online — then apologized — for old social-media posts perceived by many as culturally insensitive. “We support Chris in the work that he is committed to doing. In his absence, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will support the new Bachelorette through next season,” ABC Entertainment and Warner Horizon said in a joint statement to The Hollywood Reporter Friday. This will be the first time someone other than Harrison will host a season of either The Bachelor or The Bachelorette since the franchise began in 2002.

Marvin Hagler Dies
Former undisputed middleweight champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler died Saturday at age 66. Hagler’s wife, Kay, confirmed the news with a post on her late husband’s Facebook fan page although no official cause of death was given. “I am sorry to make a very sad announcement,” the social media post read. “Today unfortunately my beloved husband Marvelous Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home here in New Hampshire. Our family requests that you respect our privacy during this difficult time. With love, Kay G. Hagler.” Promoter Bob Arum and Top Rank later confirmed the news in a press release. “Marvelous Marvin Hagler was among the greatest athletes that Top Rank ever promoted. He was a man of honor and a man of his word, and he performed in the ring with unparalleled determination. He was a true athlete and a true man. I will miss him greatly,” Arum said. A 1993 inductee to the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Hagler made 12 defenses of the undisputed middleweight title he held from 1980 to 1987. The native of Newark, New Jersey, who settled in Brockton, Massachusetts, as a teenager, went on to take part in a pair of the most memorable fights in the sport’s history. A father of five children with his first wife, Bertha, Hagler was also the half-brother of former middleweight boxer Robbie Sims.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quietly dealt with an intruder trespassing on their Montecito, CA property over the holidays, legitimizing their intense concerns over lack of security following their Megxit move to the states. According to TMZ, police have confirmed a 37-year-old man named Nickolas Brooks was caught on Christmas Eve trespassing on the property where they live. Fortunately, he was spotted and escorted off the property, but only given a warning by Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officers not to return. Two days later, he came back, resulting in his arrest. Brooks currently faces one count of misdemeanor trespassing.

She previously told friends about her political ambitions — and now hopes her blockbuster Oprah Winfrey interview will strengthen support in the US, sources told the Mail on Sunday newspaper. She has been openly networking among senior Democrats to help build fundraising teams and a campaign for the White House, according to a senior UK politician who served under former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and has close ties to Washington. “The Blairite, internationalist and Democratic party networks are buzzing with talk about Meghan’s political ambitions and potential backers,” the anonymous source told the UK paper. She is thought to be looking at the 2024 campaign if President Biden, who will be 82, decides against running for a second term, the source said. If successful, it would make her the first female US president.

CBS Launching “The Talk” Investigation
CBS has launched an internal review stemming from a heated exchange between Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood about Piers Morgan and his remarks about Meghan Markle on Wednesday’s episode of “The Talk,” People reported. “We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace,” the network said in a statement Friday. “All matters related to the Wednesday episode of ‘The Talk’ are currently under internal review.” During Wednesday’s episode of “The Talk,” Osbourne spoke of being called racist after supporting Morgan after the firestorm of criticism he got for comments he made on his British morning show about Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last Sunday night. “Did I like everything he said? Did I agree with what he said? No,” Osbourne said of Morgan’s remarks on “The Talk. “It’s not my opinion … I support him for his freedom of speech, and he’s my friend.” Co-host Underwood hit back at Osbourne. “What would you say to people who may feel that while you’re standing by your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree?” Osbourne then got emotional, asking Underwood to specify what racist things Morgan said. Underwood told Osbourne that it wasn’t “the exact words of racism, it’s the implication and the reaction to it.” “To not want to address that because she is a Black woman, and to try to dismiss it or to make it seem less than what it is, that’s what makes it racist,” Underwood said. “But right now, I’m talking to a woman I believe is my friend and I don’t want anybody here to watch this and think we are attacking you for being racist.” Osbourne issued a statement apologizing for her comments Thursday night.

Netflix Cracking Down On Password Sharing
Netflix is looking to crack down on password sharing with a new test. Some users have encountered an inquiry when they log on asking for verification that they are the owner of the Netflix account. A warning message reads: “If you don’t live with the owner of this account, you need your own account to keep watching.” A spokesperson for Netflix confirmed the test to Fox Business, noting it is “designed to help ensure that people using Netflix accounts are authorized to do so.” It is also designed to ensure revenue is not lost as the streaming space has grown increasingly competitive. According to an analysis by research firm Parks Associates, password piracy and sharing cost streaming providers $9.1 billion in 2019 alone. The firm estimates that figure will rise to $12.5 billion by 2024. Netflix will give users the option to verify their account through a code sent by text message or email. In addition, they will be given the option to “verify later.” If the user is unable to verify account ownership within a certain timeframe, they will be asked to create a new account.

Italian Food Helps Rescue Cat
Firefighters in Florida said it took more than an hour and three separate attempts to rescue a cat that was stranded in a high branch of a tree for over a week. Escambia County Fire Rescue said a crew responded Thursday evening to the call in Pensacola, where nearby business owners reported a cat had been stuck up a tree for over a week. The cat attempted to flee from firefighters, ending up even higher up on the tree. Rescuers said it took three attempts before they were finally able to reach it with a ladder. Once back on the ground, the firefighters gave the cat some water and spaghetti. The firefighters took the cat back to the station, where animal control was expected to retrieve it Friday. The animal was dubbed “Paul” in honor of firefighter Paul Guy, who was the one who pulled the feline from the tree.

A British website that reviews garden sheds posted a job listing for an unusual $70-per-hour position: Minecraft gardening consultant. WhatShed said the consultants employed by its Minecraft Gardening Service will lend their video gaming and garden design skills to Minecraft players seeking a little help landscaping in the virtual world of the game. “Consultants will be able to lend their expertise for achieving gardening excellence while sticking to the player’s Minecoin budget (in-game currency),” the company said. The website said it is seeking candidates with a working knowledge of Minecraft and a “creative flair.” “While not essential, previous experience in landscape gardening is beneficial. A passion for gardening/the outdoors must also be demonstrated,” the job posting states. WhatShed said the consultants will work remotely and can set their own rates, up to $70 an hour.

Lost Buzz Toy Reunited With Kid
An airline worker at an Arkansas airport reunited a lost Buzz Lightyear toy with the young boy who accidentally left the action figure behind in Texas. Southwest Airlines said the boy, named Hagen, had gotten off a plane at Dallas Love Field Airport, and his family already was in its rental car heading away from the airport when the child realized his Buzz Lightyear toy was missing. The toy was left on the plane, where a Southwest ramp agent named Jason found it after landing in Little Rock, Ark. Jason found Hagan’s name written on the bottom of the toy’s foot, and a coworker helped him find the plane’s passenger list from earlier in the day to identify Buzz’s owner. Buzz arrived in the mail at Hagan’s home a few days later, in a package that also included photos of Buzz posing at the Arkansas airport and a letter detailing his “adventures.”

Man Steals Playground Slide
A Washington man is accused of stealing a 400-pound slide from a playground and mounting it to a child’s bunk bed in his mobile home, police said. Dustin Allen Bushnell, 30, of Burbank, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession of stolen property, Pasco Police said in a press release. Detective Julie Lee had been investigating reports of stolen catalytic converters late last month, and that case led her to the home of Bushnell. Lee, with the help of other detectives, executed a search warrant of Bushnell’s home and found a “gigantic slide” (as well as catalytic converters), police said. The slide had been taken from a playground in December, police said. The slide had been repainted, sawed off at the top and mounted to a bunk bed. Pasco Police arrived on the scene and recovered the slide.

Cris Judd
Cris Judd and Jennifer Lopez were married for two years. Lopez’s second marriage was to dancer and choreographer Cris Judd. The pair met in Spain in late 2000 when he was hired to direct her music video for “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and wed in September 2001, splitting in June 2002.
“Your privacy is breached,” Judd later said of the relationship. “You’re no longer a normal person. [Our wedding] was a circus. I think several people got arrested trying to climb up a mountain … trying to sneak in. We actually rented the airspace.”
Diddy
J.Lo and Diddy were a power couple from 1999 until 2001. Arguably the music power-couple for the extremely limited window of 1999-2001. But the relationship between Lopez and Sean “Diddy” Combs — then still going by Puff Daddy — was both marred by allegations of infidelity by Combs and dragged into the courts with a weapons-and-bribery trial in connection with a December 1999 shooting at Club New York. (A jury eventually acquitted him.)
None of that stopped Combs from comparing their relationship to two other famous couples: Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra and Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe.
“I’m Frank, you know what I’m saying?” he added, helpfully.
Ojani Noa
Lopez tied the knot with first husband Cuban waiter Ojani Noa in February 1997 after meeting in Miami while she was filming “Blood and Wine.”
Their marriage was over just 11 months later in January 1998, but that didn’t stop Noa from shopping an alleged honeymoon sex tape around.
The tape was never released, but Noa finally got his screen time when he was featured on a 2016 episode of “Million Dollar Matchmaker.”
