Bruce Springsteen Heading To Court

Bruce Springsteen’s DWI arrest case will make its way before a judge next week in New Jersey on Feb. 24^th.  It was uncovered last week that he was arrested in November for DWI, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area. The incident took place at the Gateway National Recreation Area.  Statements of probable cause obtained by Fox News show that “The Boss” allegedly refused to take a preliminary breath test when first approached by a park ranger on site.  “Springsteen refused to take a preliminary breath test (PBT), despite signs of intoxication namely after testing his gaze and walk and turn tests,” a park ranger named R. L. Hayes alleges in the document.  Additionally, the ranger claimed to have observed the musician “consume a shot of Patron tequila” before getting on his motorcycle to “start the engine.”  Hayes claims he informed Springsteen, a New Jersey native, that drinking on the park premises “is prohibited.”  Word of his arrest led to the deletion of his recent Super Bowl LV ad from YouTube.

Wednesday Addams Movie In The Works

The Addams Family and The Addams Family Values filmmaker Tim Burton is working on a Netflix show based on the iconic literary and screen character Wednesday Addams.  The streaming service announced on Wednesday that the eight-episode, coming-of-age comedy Wednesday will mark Burton’s TV directorial debut.  No casting has been announced.  Christina Ricci, now 41, played Wednesday as a youth in Burton’s 1990s big-screen Addams projects.  She has also appeared in comic strips, a TV sitcom, a Broadway stage musical and several animated adventures.  “The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy,” Netflix said about the next Addams Family iteration.  “Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”  Burton’s most recent film was 2019’s Dumbo.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is telling all about her drunken night out with Betty White.  Appearing on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” she opened up about her friendship with Betty — jokingly revealing she thought she was “going to kill the national treasure Betty White” during their drunken stupor.  “One of the only times that I’ve been, like, super drunk was with Betty in public and she veered off into a bush and I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I am going to kill the national treasure Betty White,’” Hewitt jokingly recalled. “[…] Then she loves to end her nights with you by eating gummy bears.”  “She’s everything you want her to be and more,” Hewitt added. “She’s the best and I just love her to pieces.”  Before diving into the story, Hewitt offered some insight into her friendship with the Hollywood legend and revealed some of White’s favorite foods and activities.  “Pizza and vodka are her favorites,” the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” actress revealed. “She also loves hot dogs and she cheats at Scrabble horribly, but she’s Betty White so you just let her win.”

Kanye West Still Wears His Wedding Ring

Amid his split from wife Kim Kardashian, Kanye West was still wearing his wedding ring in new photos taken in Malibu on Wednesday.  He returned to California from his Wyoming ranch in January, possibly to begin work on his collaboration with Gap, which is scheduled for a 2021 release.  Meanwhile, West’s estranged wife — despite wearing a set of Yeezys in a bikini pic she posted early this month — was spotted without her wedding band while out in Calabasas, California, shortly before Valentine’s Day, in pics obtained by OK!.

Dolly Parton Doesn’t Want A Statue

Dolly Parton has asked Tennessee legislators to not move forward with commissioning a statue in her honor.   She posted a new message Thursday on Twitter asking her home state to stop the bill even though she is “honored and humbled” by the gesture.  “Given all that is going on in the world, I don’t think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time. I hope, though, that somewhere down the road several years from now or perhaps after I’m gone if you still feel I deserve it, then I’m certain I will stand proud in our great State Capitol as a grateful Tennessean,” she said in the statement.  State Rep. John Mark Windle proposed such a statue on the property to recognize all her contributions to the state.  In June, an online petition was filed suggesting that a statue of Parton replace those dedicated to Confederate officers.

The Weeknd got his own Super Bowl ring to commemorate his halftime performance.  Designed by celebrity jeweler Elliot Eliantte — who was most recently responsible for Lil Uzi Vert’s $24 million forehead gem — his ring features a huge marquise-cut diamond to represent the Lombardi Trophy, along with the artist’s “XO” logo.  On one side, the ring has the final score of the big game — Tampa Buccaneers 31, Kansas City Chiefs 9 — as well as another football-shaped stone and the Super Bowl LV logo.  The Weeknd’s name and the Pepsi Halftime Show logo adorn the other side, and tons of other diamonds in various cuts surround the giant piece.  Though the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl earlier this month, the team has yet to create their own custom rings, which are given to the winning team’s staff and players.

Cat Saves Family’s Life

An Oregon family’s rescue cat is being praised as a hero by her family after alerting the humans in the house to a gas leak that could have become dangerous.  Sandi Martin said she was playing at her Lake Oswego home with Lilly, the cat she recently adopted from Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood, when the feline started sniffing at a fireplace valve in a way that struck Martin as unusual.  “I went over and sniffed and there was a natural gas smell,” Martin told KGW-TV. “It was very faint so I didn’t really trust my nose. Then I asked my husband to sniff it, and he sniffed it, too.”  The couple contacted NW Natural, their gas company, and they were told to shut off everything in the room, including their phones, and open all available windows and doors.  An employee from the company arrived about 20 minutes later and confirmed there was gas leaking from the fireplace.

Cup Of Coffee Turns Into Lottery Win

A Maryland man who stopped into a convenience store for a cup of coffee said some fellow customers inspired him to buy a scratch-off lottery ticket that won a $57,777 top prize.  He told Maryland Lottery officials he only intended to buy some coffee when he stopped at the 7-Eleven store in Silver Spring, but he was intrigued when he saw several other customers buying scratch-off lottery tickets.  “I usually play Powerball and Mega Millions,” the man said, “but today I saw the Lucky 7s scratch-offs and I thought, ‘Well, I might get lucky!'”  The man said he scratched off his tickets in the store and discovered he was a $57,777 top prize winner. He said he used the scanner to confirm his prize and quietly left the store without telling anyone.  He said he kept the prize a secret until after he finished his day’s work as an electrician.

Guy Gives Cobra Some Water

An Indian man came to the rescue of a thirsty — and potentially deadly — cobra by pouring water from a bottle into the venomous snake’s mouth.  The video, shared by Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda, shows the man, believed to be an IFS official, gently holding the water bottle while the cobra drinks from the opening.  The man touches the cobra with his other hand to keep the snake steady and calm while drinking.  “Love and water. Two best ingredients of life,” Nanda tweeted.  See the video HERE.

Family Of Bears Under A House

Utility workers investigating a gas leak at a Tennessee home called wildlife officials for assistance when they discovered a family of bears sleeping under the house.  The Appalachian Bear Rescue said a utility crew responded to a home in Sevier County and called the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency when they ventured under the house and were faced with “the ample caboose of a very large snoozing bear.”  “The crawl space beneath a home is not a great place for a bear den, especially if there’s a gas leak,” the bear rescue said. “There was no way to know if the gas injured the bear, there was no way to safely repair the gas line while the bear was in residence, and there was no way to keep the home warm and habitable without repairing the gas line.”  Wildlife officials arrived at the scene and were successfully able to “encourage the big bear to leave the premises,” but they then discovered the bear was a mother and had left behind three young cubs.
********Then they called Child Services and they put the cubs in a foster home!!
