Golden Globe Award Nominations Announced
Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson read aloud from their homes in an online ceremony Wednesday the nominees for the 78th annual Golden Globe Awards. Netflix, which released The Crown, Ozark, The Queen’s Gambit, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Mank and The Trial of the Chicago 7 — led the field with 42 nominations. In the TV categories, The Crown dominated with six nominations, while Schitt’s Creek (Pop TV) earned five, and Ozark and The Undoing (HBO) each picked up four. In the film competitions, Mank was nominated for six Globes, The Trial of the Chicago 7 is up for five, and The Father (Sony Pictures Classics,) Nomadland (Searchlight Pictures) and Promising Young Woman (Focus Features) each earned four nods. HBO earned seven nominations for TV honors, Hulu grabbed six, and Pop TV and Showtime each earned five. Winners of the Globes, which honor excellence in TV and film, are to be announced on Feb. 28. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be hosting this year’s ceremony.

Nickelodeon Producing Super Bowl Special
Nickelodeon and CBS Sports are teaming up to produce special Super Bowl LV content for kids and families starting with the Nickelodeon Super Duper Super Bowl Pregame Spectacular on Friday at 8 p.m. EST. Nickelodeon stars Gabrielle Nevaeh Green and Lex Lumpkin will be hosting the pregame show, which will feature Super Bowl fun facts, Nickelodeon-themed season highlights and predictions with help from special guests. Nickelodeon Super Duper Super Bowl Spectacular will re-air multiple times over the weekend before Super Bowl LV airs Sunday on CBS at 6:30 p.m. EST. Green and Lumpkin will additionally appear in a specially produced segment of Nickelodeon game show Unfiltered on CBS’ The Super Bowl Today, which airs Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. EST. A Nickelodeon-themed highlights package will also air during CBS’ halftime coverage of the big game.

Eddie Murphy’s Prince Akeem finds his long lost son in a new trailer for Coming 2 America. Akeem and his best friend Semmi (Arensio Hall) find his son LaVelle () while returning to New York City in the clip released on Wednesday. Akeem brings his Jermaine Fowler son back home to the African nation of Zamunda along with LaVelle’s mother Mary (Leslie Jones). “He’s supposed to be like the prince of Wakanda,” Mary says in reference to Marvel’s Black Panther. “Wakanda is a fictional place. Zamunda is a very real nation,” Akeem replies. LaVelle is having a hard time adjusting to life in Zamunda while Akeem realizes that his daughter Meeka (Kiki Layne) hoped to ascend to the throne one day. Akeem must also deal with General Izzi (Wesley Snipes) who wants to take over Zamunda. Coming 2 America premieres March 5 on Amazon Prime Video. See the new trailer HERE.

More Guest Hosts Announced For Jeopardy
Dr. Oz, Anderson Cooper, Savannah Guthrie and Sanjay Gupta are set to guest host episodes of the game show, Jeopardy! “We look forward to each guest host bringing their unique abilities to the show and to our contestants winning a lot of money that we can match for charity,” said executive producer Mike Richards in a statement Tuesday. Donations will be made by the show to the charities of choice of each guest host. Longtime Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died of cancer in November at the age of 80. He worked until right before his death, taping episodes that aired until earlier this month. Since then, guest hosts have taken turns at the helm of the show. Among them were Richards, Ken Jennings, Aaron Rodgers, Mayim Bialik, Katie Couric and and Bill Whitaker.

Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Postponed Again
Prince Harry has announced that his Invictus Games have been postponed again due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Paralympic-style competition for wounded veterans and servicemen and women was supposed to occur in the Netherlands this year from May 29 to June 5. It was originally postponed last spring due to the virus. The event will now take place in The Hague, Netherlands in Spring 2022. “To the key workers on the frontlines in the battle against the pandemic, we are with you,” said the Duke of Sussex and his friends in an Instagram video posted on Tuesday. “And when the world is ready, we will compete with all we have, with all we are,” shared the 36-year-old. He also signed a joint statement with Sir Keith Mills, chair of the Invictus Games Foundation, as well as Mark de Kruif, chair of the games in the Netherlands. “We are Invictus: from the communities that host and cherish the Games, and the competitors who display unshakeable resilience and commitment as they prepare for and participate in the Games, to the families and network of supporters who support these men and women on their journey to competition,” read the message.

Paulina Porizkova, 55, posted a nude photo of herself after Elizabeth Hurley received backlash for her own risqué photoshoot last month. “Today, on a serious note, thoughts inspired by the brouhaha around a sexy photo of @elizabethhurley1 …,” Porizkova wrote on Tuesday alongside a nude bedroom pic. “When I was in my twenties and thirties, the less I wore – the more popular I was. In my forties, I could walk around practically naked and illicit nothing more than a ticket for public indecency.” She continued, “At fifty, I am reviled for it. ‘Put on your clothes, grandma. Hungry for attention, are you? A little desperate here? He plunked down $100,000 to stay in a swank $9.1 million six-bedroom manse on nearby Davis Island. The 6,000-square-foot spread features a pool, bay views and a private dock. While Super Bowl producers are covering all usual production costs for the show, the 30-year-old singer — real name Abel Tesfaye — is injecting big bucks to make sure it’s done his way. “Abel spent almost $7 million of his own money beyond the already generous budgets to make this halftime show be what he envisioned,” his publicist told The Post. On Monday, he teamed up with Postmates to feed frontline healthcare workers at AdventHealth Carrollwood with food from Tampa black-owned restaurant, Mama’s Southern Soul Food.

Family Finds Crocodile In Swimming Pool
Wildlife trappers were summoned to a home in South Africa where a couple discovered a 10-foot crocodile swimming laps in their backyard pool. Angel Breytenbach said she was outside in the early morning hours when she spotted a large shape in the water that the native Australian soon recognized as a crocodile. Breytenbach and her husband, Jacob, summoned wildlife trappers to their home and a video of the rescue shows the team using a lasso to fish the reptile out of the water. Wildlife officials said the crocodile likely became disoriented due to recent storms that may have driven it to venture out of a nearby river. The crocodile will be returned to the wild, the trappers said.

Squirrel Scares Wildlife Official
Wildlife officials in Georgia shared video of the moment an employee cleaning out a bird house was startled by a squirrel that suddenly burst out of the structure and splashed into a nearby lake. The Georgia Department of Natural Resource’s Wildlife Resources Division said in a Facebook post that the man, an employee at a Wildlife Management Area, was tasked with cleaning out a bird house for wood ducks. The video shows the man tap three times on the side of the bird house, causing the squirrel the worker apparently did not know was inside to leap out from the structure’s opening. The squirrel sails several feet through the air and lands in a lake. The animal then paddles to shore. See the video HERE.

Black Bear Interrupts Training Session
A sheriff’s office in Washington state said a K9 unit training exercise was interrupted when a black bear was spotted wandering 20 feet from where the deputy acting as a suspect was hiding. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were conducting a training exercise that involved a K9 unit tracking a suspect — played by a deputy — who fled on foot from a traffic stop and hid in the woods outside the sheriff’s Cathcart facility. Drones were used as part of the exercise, and one of the operators discovered a black bear was wandering through the area. The deputy acting as the suspect said the bear came within 20 feet of where he was hiding in the woods. The sheriff’s drones tracked the bear until it wandered out of the area without incident.

Attorney Finds Valuable Antiques In His Attic
A New York state attorney who bought a building to expand his practice discovered a hidden attic that contained photographs and photography-related items from over 100 years earlier. David Whitcomb said he and a friend were examining the building he purchased in Geneva when they discovered the structure had an attic that he wasn’t told about when he bought the property. Whitcomb said he located the access panel and looked into the attic, discovering it was filled with photographs, frames, glass negatives and other materials that appeared to be quite old. He said the items are believed to have belonged to J.E. Hale, a photographer who was active in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Hale’s name is on many of the items, including pieces of mail found in the attic. Whitcomb said Hale’s belongings in the attic included several photos of Susan B. Anthony, including a print of her official portrait from the Library of Congress, which was taken by Hale.
