Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Postponed Again

Prince Harry has announced that his Invictus Games have been postponed again due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.  The Paralympic-style competition for wounded veterans and servicemen and women was supposed to occur in the Netherlands this year from May 29 to June 5. It was originally postponed last spring due to the virus. The event will now take place in The Hague, Netherlands in Spring 2022.  “To the key workers on the frontlines in the battle against the pandemic, we are with you,” said the Duke of Sussex and his friends in an Instagram video posted on Tuesday.  “And when the world is ready, we will compete with all we have, with all we are,” shared the 36-year-old.  He also signed a joint statement with Sir Keith Mills, chair of the Invictus Games Foundation, as well as Mark de Kruif, chair of the games in the Netherlands.  “We are Invictus: from the communities that host and cherish the Games, and the competitors who display unshakeable resilience and commitment as they prepare for and participate in the Games, to the families and network of supporters who support these men and women on their journey to competition,” read the message.

Elizabeth Hurley Inspires Others!

Paulina Porizkova, 55, posted a nude photo of herself after Elizabeth Hurley received backlash for her own risqué photoshoot last month.  “Today, on a serious note, thoughts inspired by the brouhaha around a sexy photo of @elizabethhurley1 …,” Porizkova wrote on Tuesday alongside a nude bedroom pic. “When I was in my twenties and thirties, the less I wore – the more popular I was. In my forties, I could walk around practically naked and illicit nothing more than a ticket for public indecency.”  She continued, “At fifty, I am reviled for it. ‘Put on your clothes, grandma. Hungry for attention, are you? A little desperate here? You’re pathetic.’”  Hurley, who often posts bikini pics, caused a stir recently after posing in a snowy setting wearing nothing but a string bikini bottom and an open furry coat.  While many fans praised her, trolls also went after her for showing so much skin.  But Porizkova questioned why nudity and “sexiness” was applauded for younger women and often “reviled” for women who were more mature. “Because of men,” she stated. “Men are biologically programmed to spread their seed, inserting themselves into fertile containers which advertise their viability through youth.”  She concluded her message by saying, “The only thing that is pathetic here is allowing others to set your priorities.”  See the pic HERE.
********We’re not sure what she’s talking about, but whatever she’s selling.. we’re buying!!
*******If Liz Hurley is starting a trend, we say, “THANK YOU!!”
TRIVIA: Paulina was married to the late Ric Ocasek of The Cars!! Lucky dude!!

The Weeknd’s Super Bowl Digs!

The Weeknd is staying in style in Tampa this week as he prepares for Sunday’s Super Bowl 2021 halftime show.  He plunked down $100,000 to stay in a swank $9.1 million six-bedroom manse on nearby Davis Island. The 6,000-square-foot spread features a pool, bay views and a private dock.  While Super Bowl producers are covering all usual production costs for the show, the 30-year-old singer — real name Abel Tesfaye — is injecting big bucks to make sure it’s done his way.  “Abel spent almost $7 million of his own money beyond the already generous budgets to make this halftime show be what he envisioned,” his publicist told The Post.  On Monday, he teamed up with Postmates to feed frontline healthcare workers at AdventHealth Carrollwood with food from Tampa black-owned restaurant, Mama’s Southern Soul Food.
********It sounds like he’s having more Super Bowl fun than anyone!!!

Katie’s Chef Romance:  Recipe for Heartbreak?-(National Enquirer)

Love-hungry Katie Holmes’ romance with New York City chef Emilio Vitolo Jr. is showing signs it may sour, sources say.  While the “Dawson’s Creek” cutie, 42, is over the moon for her man, insiders claimed he’s a fame-seeking cad with a wandering eye!  “He’s constantly checking out other women when they’re out on the town, and he’s spending way too much time online drooling over hot babes on the internet,” a source spilled.  In fact, the 33-year-old foodie’s “likes” recently littered the Instagram posts of sexy pop singer Rihanna!  “On top of that he’s still in touch with a bunch of his sexes and brags that Katie’s lucky to be dating him-not the other way around.  Her friends are worried she’s headed for heartbreak, but she just can’t see it.”

Heather’s Fresh Start-(Globe)

Heather Locklear is officially done with her three-year probation-ahead of schedule.  The former “Dynasty” beauty, 59, pleaded no contest in 2019 to charges of battery and resisting arrest and dodged actual jail time, but was ordered to spend 30 days in a residential treatment program and placed on informal probation.  In February 2018, she was arrested at her home for alleged attacking her boyfriend AND the deputies responding to the call.  She was again arrested in June 2018 after allegedly attacking an officer and an EMT.  Last April, the star celebrated one year of sobriety.  “I’ve learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow,” she shared with  fans online.

Justin Timberlake:  Heart of Gold-(Us Weekly)

Showing his True Colors!  After hearing the touching story of Jake Stitt-a 17-year-old living with cerebral palsy and trying to raise $35,000 with his family for a wheelchair-accessible van-Timberlake took it upon himself to help out.  In November, just before Thanksgiving, the Grammy winner purchased the vehicle for the Stitt family, and covered all the costs, allowing them to keep the money that they already raised to help pay for the teen’s care.  “I heard your story and saw a little news clip about it.  I was so moved, Timberlake, who turns 40 Jan. 31, told the family over a zoom call.  “You inspire me, Jake.”

So Long, Hollywood!  James Van Der Beek-(Star)

With five kids in tow, James and wife Kimberly packed up for the Lone Star state in October.  The move came after a series of life changes that included two late-term miscarriages and the death of the Connecticut native’s mom.  “This location has changed everything for me,” the 43-year-old gushed of the Austin area, advising others, “If your soul is longing to take the leap” of moving “it just might thank you in ways you never could have calculated.”

Joanna’s Recipe For Disaster-(Life & Style)

Is there anything Joanna Gaines can’t do?  As it turns out, yes.  The Fixer Upper star, 42, failed to win over fans with her new cooking show, Magnolia Table.  Viewers watched as Joanna struggled to properly zest a lemon, sometimes forgetting which step in the recipe came next.  “Some of the criticisms were downright harsh, calling her a Martha Stewart wannabe,” says an insider.  “Others went as far as to say that the series wasn’t worth paying $4.99 a month for Discovery+ to see.  Fortunately, Joanna’s die-hard devotees don’t seem to mind her clumsiness in the kitchen.  While she’s clearly out of her league as a top chef, she does try to redeem herself by poking a little fun of her lack of culinary skills,” notes the insider.  “Maybe that’s where the charm of the show is, but some people think she should hang her apron and stick to shiplap.”

One Last Thing:  Ian McShane-(People)

The British actor, 78, returns for season 3 of Starz’s hit series American Gods.

Last time I danced-

Oh, this morning.  I was on my own, in the living room, and waiting for the tea kettle to boil.  No music, just in my head.  As they say, dance like nobody’s watching.

Last time I was moved to tears-

Probably that last time I heard a song from 40 or 50 years ago.  There’s nothing as potent as music to make you remember.  You hear Barbra Streisand sing “The Way We Were,” and everybody blubbers.

Last time I was handy-

I’m very good with light bulbs.  And the dishwasher and disposal.  My wife [Gwen] calls me Bob the Builder, actually.  But that’s another story.

Kim:  Getting Back Into the Dating Game-(In Touch)

Three failed marriages hasn’t soured Kim Kardashian, 40, on love.  “She isn’t good at being single for long,” says the source. “She likes being in relationships and is even open to marrying again once she meets the right guy.”  That person could be attorney and CNN legal analyst Van Jones, 52, “who’s already in the picture,” says the source.  “They have secret phone calls.  He’s the opposite of Kanye.  Van is mature, a mentor to Kim in her legal career and he’s helping her grow, unlike Kanye, who dragged  her down.”

Family Finds Crocodile In Swimming Pool

Wildlife trappers were summoned to a home in South Africa where a couple discovered a 10-foot crocodile swimming laps in their backyard pool.  Angel Breytenbach said she was outside in the early morning hours when she spotted a large shape in the water that the native Australian soon recognized as a crocodile.  Breytenbach and her husband, Jacob, summoned wildlife trappers to their home and a video of the rescue shows the team using a lasso to fish the reptile out of the water.  Wildlife officials said the crocodile likely became disoriented due to recent storms that may have driven it to venture out of a nearby river.  The crocodile will be returned to the wild, the trappers said.
********”Wait… that’s not a croc… it’s just aunt Karen!! She forgot to moisturize!!!”
*******They returned it to the wild??? There aren’t ENOUGH crocodiles in the river???

Squirrel Scares Wildlife Official

Wildlife officials in Georgia shared video of the moment an employee cleaning out a bird house was startled by a squirrel that suddenly burst out of the structure and splashed into a nearby lake.  The Georgia Department of Natural Resource’s Wildlife Resources Division said in a Facebook post that the man, an employee at a Wildlife Management Area, was tasked with cleaning out a bird house for wood ducks.  The video shows the man tap three times on the side of the bird house, causing the squirrel the worker apparently did not know was inside to leap out from the structure’s opening.  The squirrel sails several feet through the air and lands in a lake. The animal then paddles to shore.  See the video HERE.

Black Bear Interrupts Training Session

A sheriff’s office in Washington state said a K9 unit training exercise was interrupted when a black bear was spotted wandering 20 feet from where the deputy acting as a suspect was hiding.  The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were conducting a training exercise that involved a K9 unit tracking a suspect — played by a deputy — who fled on foot from a traffic stop and hid in the woods outside the sheriff’s Cathcart facility.  Drones were used as part of the exercise, and one of the operators discovered a black bear was wandering through the area.  The deputy acting as the suspect said the bear came within 20 feet of where he was hiding in the woods.  The sheriff’s drones tracked the bear until it wandered out of the area without incident.

Attorney Finds Valuable Antiques In His Attic

A New York state attorney who bought a building to expand his practice discovered a hidden attic that contained photographs and photography-related items from over 100 years earlier.  David Whitcomb said he and a friend were examining the building he purchased in Geneva when they discovered the structure had an attic that he wasn’t told about when he bought the property.  Whitcomb said he located the access panel and looked into the attic, discovering it was filled with photographs, frames, glass negatives and other materials that appeared to be quite old.  He said the items are believed to have belonged to J.E. Hale, a photographer who was active in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Hale’s name is on many of the items, including pieces of mail found in the attic.  Whitcomb said Hale’s belongings in the attic included several photos of Susan B. Anthony, including a print of her official portrait from the Library of Congress, which was taken by Hale.
