Hasselhoff Auctioning Off The KITT Car
David Hasselhoff is auctioning off the AI-enhanced Knight Industries Two Thousand car — a k a “K.I.T.T.” — from his 1980s TV show “Knight Rider” for an estimated $300,000. The 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is described as a “FULLY FUNCTIONAL K.I.T.T. CAR WITH FULL CONVERSION CAR LOCATED IN U.K.,” according to the automobile’s listing on LiveAuctioneers.com. Unfortunately, the prop K.I.T.T. doesn’t boast any of the capabilities of its sentient on-screen counterpart, which could talk, drive itself and even inexplicably jump when the Hoff’s character activated a “turbo boost” function. However, the automotive assistant sports a dashboard that lights up just like in “Knight Rider.” In addition, Hasselhoff, 68, will personally deliver the car to the new owner if they pay 25% above the asking price, per the site. (Winners who pay less will be responsible for the delivery expense.)

Christie Brinkley Got A New Hip
Christie Brinkley has had her hip replaced 26 years after being injured in a helicopter crash. She said Tuesday on Instagram that she’s recovering after undergoing hip replacement surgery in November. Brinkley shared photos of herself snorkeling with Jack Paris, her 25-year-old son with her husband, Richard Taubman. The picture shows Brinkley with a bandage on her hip. “New Year, New Hip! Yes that’s a band aid on my hip. I injured my hip in a back country skiing helicopter crash on a mountaintop in Telluride many years ago. The pain my hip got a little bit worse each year. 12 years ago I was told it needed to be replaced but the surgery was daunting! And I had things to do!” Brinkley captioned the post. “But quarantine put a damper on any plans so I decided to finally take time for myself and do something about the pain that had progressively influenced my decisions. I wanted to be ready to be able to say yes to opportunity,” she said. Brinkley said she had her surgery around Thanksgiving and was dancing in her kitchen by New Year’s Eve.

I will be out of the hospital and back home soon,” the rap legend said alongside a black and white photo of himself working inside of a recording studio. “Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!” he continued. Dr. Dre, real name Andre Romelle Young, was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Monday after suffering from a brain aneurysm,” TMZ reported. Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott and Ice Cube and more supported Dr. Dre across social media. “GET WELL DR DRE WE NEED U CUZ,” Snoop Dogg said on Instagram Tuesday alongside concert footage of himself performing with Dr. Dre. “Prayers up for Dr. Dre and his family for healing & strength over his mind & body,” Elliott said on Twitter Tuesday.

Queen Staffer Gets Jail Time!
Queen Elizabeth’s staffer is serving jail time after admitting to stealing items from the royal residence and selling them on eBay. Buckingham Palace catering assistant Adam Canto pleaded guilty to three counts of theft between November 2019 and August 2020 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, the BBC reported on Tuesday. He was sentenced on Monday to eight months in jail. The former palace staffer stole a “significant quantity” of items, which were discovered by police at his quarters in the palace’s Royal Mews. The items included signed official photographs of Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as a royal state banquet photo album of President Trump’s visit to the U.K. According to the outlet, about 77 items were taken from the palace shop, while others were stolen from staff lockers and Prince Andrew’s storeroom. Queen Elizabeth has not been back at her London residence since March.

Dr. Dre’s Home Burglarized When He Was In The Hospital
Dr. Dre’s Los Angeles home was the target of a burglary ring while he was hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm. Police said nothing was taken when the suspects tried and failed to break into Dre’s Brentwood pad around 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to ABC7. During a surveillance operation in the swanky neighborhood, police spotted an SUV thought to be involved in the ring and apprehended four suspects, according to ABC7.

Cat Rescued From Overpass
Veterinarians said a cat is being treated for dehydration after spending multiple days stranded atop a highway column in Texas. The El Paso Police Department, the Texas Department of Transportation and the El Paso Fire Department teamed up to rescue the cat from the column on Interstate 10 West in El Paso after the animal was spotted stranded days earlier. A video of the rescue was posted to Facebook by El Paso Animal Services. Officials said the cat was treated for dehydration, but was found to be otherwise uninjured. “He probably was going up inside of a car engine to stay warm. Probably hitched a ride in someone’s car inside the engine, probably didn’t even know he was there,” Dr. Alana Canupp, chief veterinarian at El Paso Animal Services, told KTSM-TV. “He probably fell out, was lucky enough not to get hit and then made his way down to the pillar underneath I-10.” See the video HERE.

Chickens Tear Thru McDonald’s
Police in New Jersey responded to a McDonald’s parking lot where a pair of chickens were reported “wreaking havoc” and chasing customers. The Washington Township Police Department said in a Facebook post that an animal control officer was dispatched on a report of “a flock of chickens ‘wreaking havoc’ at our local McDonald’s on Route 31 South.” The officer arrived to find two chickens “‘harassing’ and ‘chasing’ customers and pecking at car tires,” the department said. The animal control officer was able to capture the chickens with help from the manager of the McDonald’s eatery, police said. See the photo HERE.

Shark Takes A Bite Out Of Swimmer’s Fin!
A California man who encountered a shark while swimming in the ocean said he came back to shore to discover the juvenile predator had attempted to bite his fin. Phil Garn said he was wearing fins on his feet when he went for a swim in Coronado, and while in the water he felt something tug on one of his fins. Garn said he turned and came face to face with a juvenile shark. He came ashore and alerted lifeguards, who evacuated the rest of the swimmers from the water. Garn said he was wearing longer fins than his usual pair and he suspects he might have sustained a serious injury if he had been wearing his shorter fins. The swimmer is now calling on Coronado officials to install a system of buoys to track the movements of sharks in the area.

Cheese Ball Spill
Transportation officials in Maryland said a tractor-trailer hauling 20,000 pounds of cheese balls overturned on the interstate, spilling snacks across lanes of traffic. The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration said the tractor-trailer was involved in a crash last month on Interstate 495 in Montgomery County and spilled cheese ball snacks into the roadway. The crash also resulted in a fuel spill and a sand truck was called to the scene to assist with clean-up efforts. No injuries were reported from the incident. Two lanes of traffic were closed temporarily during the clean-up operation.
