The Carole Baskin Saga Continues To Grow

The story of Carole Baskin and her missing husband Don Lewis has added a new chapter.  A sheriff in Florida says law enforcement officers believe the signature appearing on Lewis’ will was forged.  Baskin was one of the subjects of the Netflix docu-series “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness,” which, in part, took a look at rumors that Baskin was involved with the disappearance of Lewis, her wealthy ex-husband.  Lewis was declared legally dead in 2002.  But Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister says he believes that Lewis’ signature on the will was “traced.”  “They had two experts deem it 100 percent a forgery. But, we knew that … we knew that before,” Chronister told Tampa’s WTSP-TV.  An unnamed woman had come forward and admitted to being forced to witness the signatures, but the statute of limitations had expired in regard to the will, the sheriff said.  “The will had already been executed at that point,” the sheriff said. “But, it certainly cast another shadow of suspicion, by all means.”  Chronister said Baskin was not a suspect, adding that “investigators have some great leads.”

Lori Loughlin Wants To Get Back To Work

Lori Loughlin still hopes she can return to the small screen in the future.  A source told Us Weekly for their newest issue that the actress “would love to return to TV” after pleading guilty to charges related to the nationwide college admissions scandal.  She is an “eternal optimist” who “eventually [wants to] tell her side of the story,” the insider says.  Prior to the scandal, she was a staple on the Hallmark Channel and starred in several made-for-TV movies, as well as the period series “When Calls the Heart.” However, the network cut ties with Loughlin in March 2019.  Loughlin also had a recurring role on “Fuller House,” a Netflix reboot of the original sitcom “Full House.” She wasn’t asked back by the streaming service to appear in the fifth and final season.  Her absence during the first half of Season 5 was recently addressed.

Prince Harry Looks To Brother For Advice

Prince Harry has been leaning on his big brother Prince William as he adjusts to his new life in Los Angeles.  “Moving to a completely different country is never easy for anyone, including Harry,” a royal insider told Us Weekly for their newest issue. “And he wasn’t expecting to be faced with so many obstacles.”  According to the source, he has been in touch with William as he settles into life in the U.S., including the security challenges celebrities face in Los Angeles. The brothers are reportedly on speaking terms after a highly publicized rift earlier this year.  “William’s advised Harry to return to London or move elsewhere, somewhere safer,” the insider alleged to the outlet. “He’s concerned about his brother’s well-being and safety.”  According to the outlet, Harry has also been in contact with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.  She has “been reaching out to Harry to see if he’s OK and has offered to help out if needed.”  The source also claimed the new father had “unrealistic expectations” of what life in Los Angeles would be like. He and his wife, Meghan Markle, have reportedly considered moving elsewhere but “they’re staying put in California for now.”

Don Henley Wants New Copyright Laws

Eagles songwriter Don Henley asked Congress on Tuesday to protect artists against online pirating, wading into a copyright fight pitting Hollywood and the recording industry against big tech platforms like Google’s YouTube.  He testified online from his home before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee weighing possible changes to a 1998 copyright law. The law allows holders of copyrighted material to formally ask parties they believe have taken their content without permission to remove it. The parties can dispute the claim. If they comply promptly with the request, there are no legal consequences. Otherwise, they may be subject to criminal penalties.  Henley said the law is weak and needs to be changed to make it more effective in stopping online piracy.  The so-called “notice and takedown” system under the copyright law is used by the movie and recording industries, entertainment software makers and book authors to pursue tech platforms, universities and other facilitators of file-sharing.  Henley called the copyright law “a relic of a MySpace era in a TikTok world.” With hundreds of millions of takedown notices sent, for every link taken down “a dozen more pop up in its place,” he said. The system “still allows Big Tech to rake in revenue” after repeated copyright infringements, Henley said.

Alicia Silverstone Still Bathes With Son

Alicia Silverstone shared that she and 9-year-old son Bear Blu have been taking baths together to pass the time during COVID-19 isolation.  “My son and I take baths together, and when he’s not with me, I take a bath and that really feels nourishing and comforting,” she recently told the New York Times.  She added that they are also doing other activities together like dancing, bouncing on the trampoline and jumping rope.  She shares Bear Blu with ex-husband Christopher Jarecki.  As for her own ways to pass the time, Silverstone is focused on her health. “I always bring everything back to diet,” she said. “When I don’t eat well, I don’t feel well, and then my moods go all over the place.”

Python Found In Hawaii

Officials in Hawaii said a hunter out searching for goats and wild boar on Oahu found something more surprising — a 4-foot-long ball python.  The Hawaii Department of Agriculture said the Oahu man told authorities he found the snake while hunting in the Kahaluu forest, on the Windward side of the island.  The hunter captured the snake alive and turned it over to the department, which is keeping the animal at its Plant Quarantine Branch. Officials said the serpent will not be euthanized.  Snakes are illegal to keep as pets in Hawaii. They are considered to be a potential invasive species, posing a threat to local birds and other small animals.  Importing or keeping a snake in Hawaii can lead to a maximum fine of up to $200,000 and up to five years in prison.

Social Distancing Shoes

A Romanian shoemaker is promoting social distancing with his latest innovation: a pair of “size 75” shoes that are each about 2 1/2 feet long.  Grigore Lup said he was inspired to create the long-nosed leather shoes when he saw people failing to follow social distancing guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.  Lup’s shoes, which are available online for roughly $115 per pair, are each about 2 1/2 feet long and are listed as a European size 75.  The shoemaker said the shoes are designed so two people facing one another would be forced to keep a distance of about 5 feet.  See the video HERE.

You Can Get High On Penguin Poop

Scientists have reported getting so high on the nitrous oxide emitted by penguin poo that it actually made them ill.  The levels of nitrous oxide, more commonly known as laughing gas, given off by the colony’s feces was about 100 times higher than in a fertilized field.  Professor Bo Elberling, from the University of Copenhagen, said the “truly intense” amount of nitrous oxide exhumed was enough to send someone “completely cuckoo”.”It is truly intense – not least because nitrous oxide is 300 times more polluting than CO2,” he explained.  “After nosing about in guano (the term given to the excrement of seabirds and bats) for several hours, one goes completely cuckoo. One begins to feel ill and get a headache.”  He added: “The small nitrous oxide cylinders that you see lying in and floating around Copenhagen are no match for this heavy dose, which results from a combination of nitrous oxide with hydrogen sulphide and other gases.”

Men Sneak Into Wrong House For Kinky Sex

Two men snuck into a bedroom with machetes after being hired to carry out a stranger’s sexual fantasy of being tied up in his underwear and stroked with a broom, only to discover they had got the wrong address.  The pair from Sydney, Australia, made their apologies and left the startled victim’s bedside as soon as they realized their mistake.  One of the men, Terrence Leroy, has now been acquitted of entering the home in July 2019 intending to intimidate while armed with an offensive weapon, after the New South Wales district court accepted his explanation.  Conceding “the facts of the case are unusual”, judge Sean Grant set out his reasons for the not guilty verdict, saying the evidence did not suggest the men’s actions were intentional.  “They carried the machetes either as a prop or something to use in that fantasy,” he said.  According to court documents, a man living in western NSW, near Griffith, “wanted a broom handle to be rubbed around his underwear”.
