Foo Fighters To Honor Late Drummer

The Foo Fighters are honoring their late drummer and friend Taylor Hawkins with two special tribute concerts to be held later this year.  He died in March due to a cardiovascular collapse at the age of 50 in a Colombian hotel where multiple drugs were found, according to a report that cited Colombian authorities.  The first show will be on Sept. 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium and the second is set for Sept. 27 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.  The “all-star rock and roll shows” were announced on the band’s website on Wednesday to “celebrate the memory and music of a rock legend.”  Lineups for each show will be revealed in the near future and tickets will go on sale on June 17th.  “Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee will come together with the Hawkins family to celebrate the life, music and love of their husband, father, brother and bandmate with The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts,” the band noted in an emotional statement.

Ruth From “Ozark” To Play Madonna

Julia Garner is reportedly the top choice to play Madonna in a new biopic.  The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday that she is the frontrunner to portray her in a new film from Universal Pictures.  The news follows a months-long process that included choreography sessions with Madonna’s choreographer, and choreography, singing and reading sessions with Madonna herself. Florence Pugh, Odessa Young, Alexa Demie and other actresses were considered for the role.  Garner has been the top choice since the beginning of the year, according to Deadline.  Sources told Variety that Garner has been offered the role. The actress’ team is now considering the offer and is expected to accept.  Madonna said on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in October that she took over the project after seeing a “hideous” script by someone else.
*******Wow… can’t wait to see the script that SHE wrote!!!
*******At the end of the contract, there’s a little clause that says: “If you make me look bad, I kill you!!!”
******Madonna should hire at least three actresses… just to play her ego!!!
*****We thought Meryl Streep had this sewn up!! She can play ANYTHING!!!

The Chrisleys Convicted Of Tax Evasion

Reality television stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty Tuesday in Atlanta on federal charges including bank fraud and tax evasion.  The celebrity couple was initially indicted in August 2019, and a new indictment was filed in February. Their trial started three weeks ago, and a federal jury found them guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans.  The Chrisleys also were convicted of conspiring to defraud the IRS and tax evasion, and Julie Chrisley was found guilty of wire fraud and obstruction of justice.  In addition, the pair’s former attorney, Peter Tarantino, was convicted of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and willfully filing false tax returns. Sentencing is set for Oct. 6. The Chrisleys face up to 30 years in prison.

Nick Cannon May Be Having Another Baby

Nick Cannon suggested on Tuesday that he is expecting more children this year.   He told the hosts of the “Lip Service” podcast that the “stork is on the way” after host Angela Yee asked him about rumors that he is expecting three more children this year.  “When you say ‘on the way,’ what count are you at? Let’s just put it this way – the stork is on the way,” he laughed.  Last year Cannon had twins with Abby De La Rosa and a son – who died in December – with Alyssa Scott after the baby was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In January, he announced he was expecting his eighth child with Bre Tiesi.   He did not confirm how many children he was expecting Tuesday but joked, “If you thought it was a lot of kids last year…” He said that his therapist had said he needed to “chill out” and decided to try celibacy to focus on being a good father and businessman but “I didn’t even make it to [January].”  “I was supposed to make it to the top of the year. Then obviously I started going through some stuff. I got depressed with the loss of my son. So in December – the thing is everybody saw I was so down. So everybody was like, ‘Let’s just give him a little vagina, and that’s gonna cure it all,'” he told the podcast hosts Yee and Gigi Maguire.  Cannon said he had been celibate for about a month and a half.
*********Hey Nick!! They never “GIVE” the vagina… there’s always a bill that comes due!!
*****We just need to know: where does he shop for push presents???
*******Just because you’re doin’ it.. doesn’t mean you have to leave a baby up in there!!!

Meghan and Harry May Have Upset Netflix

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s failure to land a photo op with Queen Elizabeth II and other senior royals with baby Lilibet at last week’s Platinum Jubilee is a bitter disappointment for Netflix executives, according to self-proclaimed royal expert Angela Levin.  The noted Prince Harry and Camilla Parker Bowles biographer dropped the bombshell Tuesday during an appearance on the British talk show “GB News,” the Daily Mail reported.  “I heard Netflix wanted these pictures of them with the royals,” Levin said of the alleged photo bombing of a different sort. “Because they would have sold it. It would be very valuable, very valuable to them.”  They green-lighted the runaway Sussexes’ much-hyped “at-home” docuseries in May — but the cameras were reportedly banned from the Jubilee as part of the “Sandringham agreement” made when the couple quit their royal roles back in January 2020.  Reports from multiple other outlets claim that they wanted their personal photographer to take happy snaps of the 96-year-old monarch and Lilibet — but were snubbed with one anonymous source claiming they were told: “No chance. It was a private family event,” the Sun originally reported. That same birdie also claimed Elizabeth’s minders were worried that Harry and Markle would leak the photos to US television networks.
*********Huh?? Why would she think THAT???
****On their private jet coming home, Oprah called: “Whaddya got for me???”
******Does the royal family hold a grudge against these two?? We’re guessing: “Hell, yeah!!”
****Netflix may own Harry and Meghan, but NOBODY puts Queenie in the corner!!

Lost Sunken iPhone Still Works

A visitor to a Mississippi island found a lost iPhone in the water and was able to return it to its owner after discovering the device still worked after nearly a week underwater.  Erin Skaggs, of Gulfport, said she lost her phone in the water during a Memorial Day trip to Horn Island.  “I assumed it was a lost cause,” Skaggs wrote in a Facebook post.  Skaggs said she got a new phone the next day.  Cody Lowe of Biloxi said in a Facebook post that he was visiting Horn Island on Sunday when he found an iPhone in the water. Lowe plugged the phone in and was surprised to find it still worked.  Lowe posted a photo of the phone’s lock screen — a picture of Skaggs and her husband — and it was shared hundreds of times before coming to Skaggs’ attention.

Police in New Hampshire shared video of a bear that broke into a car “to help himself to a discarded McDonald’s food bag.”  The Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post that the bear broke into a car in the parking lot of Yesterday’s Restaurant in Jackson.  “This brazen bruin decided to help himself to a discarded McDonald’s food bag inside a car,” the post said.  Police said the incident should serve as a reminder to keep windows up, doors locked and cars “clear of snacks.”  See video HERE.

Roaches Let Loose In Courtroom

A courthouse in upstate New York was closed for fumigation Tuesday after hundreds of cockroaches were released during an altercation that broke out at an arraignment, according to court officials.  The clash broke out during proceedings in Albany City Court for four people for an arrest at the state Capitol. A defendant who started to film the courtroom proceedings was told to stop. In the altercation that followed, hundreds of cockroaches brought into the courthouse in plastic containers were released, according to the state court system.  The bug release was being investigated while the courthouse was closed for the rest of the day for fumigation.  Court officers arrested a 34-year-old woman in the audience for charges related to the altercation, including disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration and tampering with physical evidence.

Stay In The Mystery Machine

Airbnb is offering guests a chance to stay in a camper recreation of the Mystery Machine, hosted by a member of the Mystery Inc. gang from the live-action “Scooby-Doo” films.  Under host, the listing modestly says “Matthew” — but that Matthew is Matthew Lillard, the actor who played Shaggy, Scooby-Doo’s best pal, in “Scooby-Doo: The Movie” and “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.”  The promotion is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first “Scooby-Doo” movie released in 2002.  The camper comes with “all-you-can eat snacks, plenty of games fit for the mystery-solving duo and a retro TV to re-watch the film,” says Airbnb.  “I’ve been channeling Shaggy since the live-action adaptation in 2002, and he’s been a part of me ever since,” said Lillard. “I can’t wait to welcome guests into the world of the Mystery Inc. gang as their Airbnb Host and give them a summer vacation they’ll never forget…monsters not included!”  Three one-night stays are up for grabs for June 24, June 25 and June 26. Each stay costs only $20, plus taxes and fees. Each booking is limited to two guests or one.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, game consoles, smart TVs, Blu-ray players and streaming media players such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick.

You can add as many different devices as you want to your account and stream content to up to four at a time, depending on the plan you choose.

Biggest Pro: Netflix has tons of original programming.

Biggest Con: Available seasons of currently-airing TV shows are usually at least a year old, so prepare to avoid spoilers for a long time.

Best for: Viewers who like a lot of original content choices across a variety of genres.

Why Choose Amazon Prime Video

How much: 30-day free trial. Free with an eligible Amazon Prime membership or $8.99 per month. Premium channels like HBO and Showtime are available for an additional monthly charge.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, game consoles, smart TVs and streaming media players such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick.

You can stream up to three videos at a time.

Biggest Pro: Prime Video’s X-ray feature lets you access actor bios, background information, trivia, bonus content, music info and other show-related information.

Biggest Con: It’s sometimes difficult to determine what content is included in your subscription and what costs extra.

Best For: People who already have an eligible Prime Membership.

Why Choose YouTube TV

How much: YouTube TV offers a 7-day free trial, then the base plan is $64.99 per month. There is also a Spanish plan for $34.99 per month.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, game consoles, smart TVs, streaming media players and Google Nest Hub.

You can have up to six accounts on your plan and stream on up to three devices at the same time.

Biggest Pro: You’ll have plenty of shows to choose from with 85 channels, plus you get unlimited cloud DVR storage for free.

Biggest Con: There’s no option for ad-free viewing. You can pause or DVR to fast forward through ads, but they’re still there.

Best For: Those who still want a live TV experience without the cable cost.

Why Choose Disney+

How much: If you opt for Disney+ by itself, you’ll pay $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, game consoles, smart TVs and streaming media players such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick.

Disney+ subscribers can have seven profiles on one account with four devices streaming at once.

Biggest Con: Premier Access, the option to watch a new release movie early, is expensive at $30.

Best For: Disney and Marvel lovers of any age.

Why Choose Paramount+

How much: 7-day free trial. You can get the Essential plan for $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Upgrade to Premium for no ads and pay $9.99/month or $99.99/year. Paramount+ also has an optional Showtime add-on. Verified college student accounts get 25 percent off an Essential monthly subscription.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, game consoles, smart TVs and streaming media players such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick.

You’ll get three simultaneous streams and six profiles.

Biggest Pro: You get early access to Paramount movies.

Biggest Con: The library is limited to CBS and Viacom programs.

Best For: Fans of classic crime dramas like NCIS or CSI, Trekkies and kids who can’t get enough of Paw Patrol.

Why Choose Sling TV

How much: You can check out Sling TV at no cost with their free option. To unlock more content, you can subscribe to either the Orange and Blue base plans for $35 per month, or combine both options for $50 per month. You can then add extras or Premium features for an additional cost. Sling TV was offering a special in spring 2022 that gave new customers half off their first month with all deals or get a free AirTV Mini when they prepaid for two months.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, Xbox, smart TVs and streaming media players such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick.

The number of screens that can stream at once depends on the plan. Orange only streams on one device, while Blue can stream on three.

Biggest Pro: It’s the most budget friendly of the live TV options.

Biggest Con: It has the least amount of available channels compared to competitors.

Best For: People who want live TV without the high cost.

Why Choose Peacock

How much: Peacock’s base plan is free. Unlock the entire Peacock library with the Premium plan for $4.99 per month and ditch (most) ads with Premium Plus at $9.99 per month.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, game consoles, smart TVs and streaming media players such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick.

You can stream on up to three devices at a time.

Biggest Pro: The free version is littered with Premium only content, so it’s hard to navigate.

Biggest Con: Only select episodes of shows are included in the free version.

Best For: People who like to sample shows before binging.

Why Choose Apple TV+

How much: You can try the 7-day free trial, then pay $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. If you use other Apple services, you can choose the Apple One bundle to get Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade and 50 GB iCloud storage starting at $14.95/month.

Available on: iPhone, iPad, Mac, smart TVs, game consoles, streaming media players and Amazon Fire devices.

Apple TV+ allows a single account to stream six devices at once.

Biggest Pro: At $4.99/month, it’s one of the cheaper options available. Also, Apple TV+ is focusing on producing quality original content, like CODA, the first direct-to-streaming film to win an Oscar.

Biggest Con: The downside of a focus on original content means that the Apple TV+ library is limited compared to competitors.

Best For: Apple product users and those who want to focus on quality programming.

What About Channel Specific Services?

The majority of channels now have their own streaming services, but combining them all can get expensive as cable. Is it worth it to have a specific channel? That depends on your tastes.

Why Choose AMC+

How much: You can try 7 days free, then AMC+ costs $6.99 to $8.99 per month, depending on where you sign up for subscription. Subscribing through AMC directly also has an $83.88 per year option. AMC+ includes content from AMC, IFC and IFC Films Unlimited, BBC America, SundanceTV, Sundance Now and Shudder.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets and smart TVs. If you subscribe to AMC+ through another service, you’ll have to access AMC+ through that provider’s app.

Direct subscribers can stream on up to 5 devices at once.

Biggest Pro: Subscribers get early access to some select AMC shows.

Biggest Con: The app isn’t very user friendly and needs some work.

Best For: The catalog is great for fans of horror and AMC specific content.

Why Choose The CW

How much: The CW app is free.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, phones, tablets, Xbox One, smart TVs and streaming media players such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick.

Biggest Con: No subscription means you don’t get the usual features like watch lists.

Best For: Fans of DC and dramas like Riverdale.

Why Choose STARZ

How much: Starz is $8.99 per month. The service also usually runs sign-up promotions that give you a discount off your first few months.

Available on: Laptops and desktop computers, smartphones, streaming media players, Xbox and smart TVs.

You can stream on up to four devices at a time.

Biggest Pro: Starz has a large library of popular dramas and blockbuster movies.

Biggest Con: The Starz app is lacking compared to competitors.
