New Selena Album In the Works
Selena’s family is planning to release a posthumous album in April 2022, almost 27 years after her murder. However, some fans aren’t happy with the project and feel that her family is exploiting the Texas-born starlet — who was shot in 1995 by crazed fan Yolanda Saldívar — for profit. Selena’s brother, A.B. Quintanilla, recently shared details about the record in an interview with Tino Cochino Radio. “It’s a crazy concept album,” Quintanilla said on the radio program. “I remixed all her vinyls and just, with this album, with an EDM world, with arpeggiators and with keyboards, I made her flow to cumbia. Normal songs that were not normally recorded in cumbia.” Fans tweeted out their concern about the album, with several questioning its authenticity. “There’s literally no other reason to do this except $$$,” one person wrote. “This is sickening. Abraham Quintanilla should let his daughter Rest In Peace,” another asked on Twitter. “How hard up for cash is Abraham?” One user penned, “It’s not authentic.” Abraham Quintanilla, the father and manager of Selena, told Latin Groove News that the album will have more than 12 songs produced by her brother.

Kanye West Goes Off On Pete Davidson Again
Kanye West went on a social media tear against Pete Davidson early Wednesday, saying he is “really concerned” he will get his Kim Kardashian “hooked on drugs.” “Im [sic] really concerned that SKETE will get my kids mom hooked on drugs,” West captioned an Instagram post of a follower’s comment about Davidson. “He’s in rehab every 2 months.” It’s unclear what made him discuss Davidson’s history with drugs, as the comment he screenshotted read, “The way Skete used Kim’s marital status too [sic] address Kanye was a sneak diss towards her & she didn’t even catch it.” Davidson has been candid about his love of marijuana but always has maintained that he has “never really” done any other drugs. At one point, before he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, he thought his mental illness was a “drug problem.” “I’ve been a pothead forever. Around October [or] September last year, I started having these mental breakdowns where I would, like, freak out and then not remember what happened after. Nicolas Cage plays… Nicolas Cage in a comedy that has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The upcoming, bizarre The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent sees him play a fictionalized version of himself. In a creative rut and swamped with debts, this Nic Cage lives in a hotel awaiting his next, big break. The film has garnered favorable reviews from critics who have had the chance to feast their eyes upon it at its SXSW premiere. It currently boasts a 100% score – though this is likely to change as the film hits cinemas next month. “The filmmakers pull from every corner of Cage’s filmography to craft something transcendent,” the RogerEbert.com review reads. “Its a raucous journey that’ll leave you with a grin plastered on your face,” writes Megan Navarro for Bloody Disgusting. “Cage playing a version of himself makes for a unique meta-comedy featuring no shortage of poignant moments and riotous gags that’ll deepen your appreciation for his work.”

Wheel Of Fortune Puzzle Strikes Again
The Eurythmics song “Sweet Dreams” created a nightmare for one Wheel of Fortune contestant on Tuesday. Chris Bryant was well on his way to solving a “song lyrics” puzzle when he mispronounced a word that was completely spelled out. “Sweet dreams are made of this” was the correct answer, however Bryant pronounced the last word as “these.” While Bryant’s answer was technically incorrect, Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox does appear to pronounce it as “these.” In fact, it rhymes with the final word of the next verse, which is “seas.” Twitter was flooded with shocked viewers who thought he was right. One viewer wrote, “Until I hear Annie Lennox confirm herself that the lyrics are “Sweet dreams are made of THIS”, I will not believe it. Wheel of Fortune ain’t gonna make me think I’ve been hearing those lyrics wrong for almost 40 years.” While Bryant missed the puzzle, he still advanced to the bonus round. The backlash was immediate after Kanye West posted a new video for his song “Eazy,” featuring The Game, on Instragram March 2. In the clip, a Claymation version of the rapper kidnaps and buries alive a figure clearly meant to be Pete Davidson, currently dating the 44-year-old’s ex Kim Kardashian. As roses grow around the buried funnyman, 28, West raps about “beat[ing]] Pete Davidson’s ass.” As the clip ends, the screen reads, “EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER/EXCEPT SKETE YOU KNOW WHO/ JK HE’S FINE,” using his nasty nickname for the SNL star. “This crosses the line from art to hate speech,” wrote one commenter. “You may be a ‘musical genius’ but you are also a deeply disturbed individual.” Another begged Ye, diagnosed with bipolar disorder, “just take your meds,” adding, “this isn’t art, it’s sociopathic.” A third reminded, “This is not Pete’s doing…..This is Kim’s choice. She doesn’t want to be married to you.”

Swim Team Interrupted By Alligator
A Florida school’s swim team practice was delayed when the students discovered the pool was already occupied — by an alligator. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that deputies responded to Montverde Academy on a report of an alligator crashing the swim team practice and refusing to vacate the pool voluntarily. The deputies used a safety hook to pull the 3-foot gator closer to the edge of the pool, where it was grabbed by another deputy. The alligator’s jaws were secured with electrical tape and the reptile was taken to Lake Apopka, where the tape was removed and “the gator was released on its own recognizance.”

A house listed for $979,000 in the Detroit suburbs is drawing attention online for an unusual feature — a toilet that resembles an actual throne. The St. Clair Shores house is nicknamed the “House of Charm” in honor of its original resident, Edythe Fern Melrose, TV and radio host known as The Lady of Charm. The home, listed for $979,000 by Tom Fincham of Community Choice Realty, features five bathrooms, but one is drawing particular attention for its toilet — a high-backed wooden seat that resembles a royal throne. The toilet features a candle holder mounted to its high wooden back. The house, which also includes an unusual bathtub on wheels, was previously listed for $1.2 million in 2021. See the pic HERE.

Giant Potato… Not A Potato!
A New Zealand couple who applied to have a massive vegetable named “Dug” recognized as the world’s heaviest potato by Guinness World Records said the DNA test had a shocking result — the tuber is not a potato. Colin and Donna Craig-Brown, who unearthed the 17.4-pound object from their Waikato farm in August 2021, said Guinness World Records requested a sample of Dug for DNA testing as part of their record application, and they heard back from the record-keeping organization on Sunday. The Craig-Browns said Guinness had the sample tested by Science & Advice for Scottish Agriculture/SASA, and the examination revealed Dug the Spud was actually a “tuber of a type of gourd.” “I’m disappointed, but he’s still ‘Dug – not the biggest potato,'” Colin Craig-Brown told Stuff.co.nz. “It’s been a real roller-coaster of potato-rama. We hopped on the roller-coaster eyes wide open and enjoyed the ride and this was the last real twist.” Craig-Brown speculated that Dug might have been the result of a seedling he purchased that may have been crossbred with a gourd and a cucumber.

Women Rents Out House She Didn’t Own
A Florida woman is behind bars, accused of renting a house that she didn’t own to someone who had no idea. Karey Whitfield told WFLA she still can’t believe she fell victim. For weeks, she had been looking for a new place to rent for her, her husband and their teenage daughter. She was looking everywhere. That’s when a friend recommended Ewelina Drozd. Drozd had ads on social media, showing off one of the houses she had for rent. Whitfield reached out. The two met at a home on Magnolia Drive in Clearwater. Whitfield liked the house, but Drozd told her she had another home that was the same rent, but was a little bit bigger. The house was on Belcher Road. It was a bit older, but was bigger and had a pool. Whitfield was sold. “Signed the lease agreement, she wrote me out a receipt for my deposit and my first month’s rent,” said Whitfield. “And we said our goodbyes – and she handed me keys and we said our goodbyes. “ Whitfield figured it would be the perfect surprise for her family. She took them to their new home, and that’s when she got an awful surprise. She had been taken. “There’s a gentleman standing outside with a big truck and I’m like, ‘hey, how are you? How can I help you?’” said Whitfield. “He’s like, ‘I’m here to meet the realtor and start renovations.’ I said, come again? Excuse me? I just rented the place this afternoon.” She called Clearwater police, and detectives immediately began investigating. Luckily, while she was signing the paperwork, she did something that would prove to be a key piece of evidence for investigators.

These 6 Gas Rewards Programs Take The Sting Out of Skyrocketing Prices

- BPme Rewards
BPme Rewards replaced BP’s previous gas reward program (BP Driver Rewards) in June 2o20. The previous program saved consumers up to 10 cents a gallon, but the most you’ll save under normal conditions with BMme Rewards is 5 cents a gallon at BP and Amoco gas stations. To get started, download the BPme Rewards app and register for an account. Do this right before filling up at a nearby BP because the rewards kick in instantly. You’ll get 5 cents off at BP and Amoco gas stations nationwide for the month.
To keep the 5-cent discount going after that, you’ll need to spend at least $100 on fuel from BP each calendar month. Depending on your gas tank size and current gas prices, that’s roughly two to four fill-ups a month. As gas prices continue to climb, this target may be more attainable.
If you fail to hit the monthly $100 minimum, you will not qualify for a discount. The BPme Rewards app does promise special bonus offers with additional savings from time to time. Maybe the coolest feature of BPme Rewards, however, is Price Match. BP calls it a first-of-its-kind program. Subscribe for 99 cents a month, and the app will find prices at nearby competitor gas stations — within a 0.5-mile radius (up to 2 miles until competitors are found) — to earn you a discount.
If you want further savings, you can apply for a BP credit card. If you have a credit card with BP, you’ll save an additional 5 cents per gallon. While this gas rewards program is free, the optional Price Match could cost you roughly $12 a year.
- ExxonMobil Rewards+
After parting ways with Plenti, ExxonMobil launched its own rewards program, Exxon Mobil Rewards+, which is one of the best fuel rewards programs on this list.
This points-based system awards 3 cents in points per gallon on fuel purchases, plus 2 cents in points per dollar spent on things like car washes and convenience store items. Lottery tickets, cash back and gift cards are among the exclusions. If you use ExxonMobil Synergy Supreme+ premium gas, you’ll earn an additional 3 cents in points per gallon. You’ve just got to pump 8 gallons of fuel three times a month to be eligible. Members of AARP automatically earn an extra 1 cent per gallon of gas and 1 cent per dollar in the store. And if you pump more than 100 gallons a month, you are considered a Frequent Filler and will earn an additional 1 cent per gallon and 2 cents per dollar.
In total, this gas rewards program could earn you up to 8 cents in points per gallon pumped and 5 cents per store dollar spent
Members can redeem points on fuel, car washes and store items, with every 100 points equaling $1 off. Let’s say you have a 10-gallon tank and are earning 3 points per gallon. That means you’ll only have to fill up a little over three times at the gas station to earn enough points for $1 off fuel and other purchases — not too shabby. Combine that with any points you earn on car washes and in-store items, and you have an even better deal.
- Maverik’s Adventure Club and Nitro Cards
Located in several states across the Northwest, Maverik is another convenience store offering its own fuel rewards program: Maverik’s Adventure Club. This program offers two rewards: the Adventure Club and the Nitro card.
The Adventure Club offers 2 cents off per gallon on fuel purchases. Card holders can earn Trail Points through fuel and in-store purchases, excluding gift cards, cash back, and age-restricted products.
You can use Trail Points to buy store items or win prizes in sweepstakes drawings.
PRO TIP
The Adventure Club also lets card holders accumulate virtual punches to earn free products as part of the Punch-It! Program.
The Nitro card offers all the same benefits and a little bit more, including 6 cents off per gallon of the posted credit price, double Trail Points from purchases, $1 daily hot beverages up to a large, and $1 fountain drinks and refills up to extra-large.
The main difference between the cards is the Nitro card must be linked to your checking account, and you must pay using the card to save on fuel and earn points. Though you use the Nitro card to pay, it is not a credit card. It is more like a gas station ACH card since it is tied directly to your bank account.
Track your Adventure Club rewards by logging in to the website or through the free app for Android and iPhone. Right now, Maverik is offering a bonus for signing up: a free fountain drink when you register for the Adventure Club and a free BonFire burrito when you sign up for a Nitro card.
- Pilot Flying J Preferred Customer Rewards
While Pilot Flying J’s rewards program was built with professional and RV drivers in mind, all Pilot Flying J customers ages 18 and older are eligible to join the myRewards program with the Preferred Customer Rewards card.
With the Preferred Customer Rewards membership, you can save 3 cents for every gallon of fuel purchased and earn points for in-store purchases (typical exclusions are lotto tickets, cash back and gift cards). You’ll also get a 10% discount coupon to participating Denny’s restaurants and enjoy special rewards during your birthday month. You can manage your rewards using the myPilot app. And if you’re an active duty military member, veteran or immediate family member of either, you qualify for a 10% food and beverage discount with your ID.me number.
The app also allows you to track your receipts and find fuel prices; plus, it gives you exclusive offers.
There is no annual fee for this gas station savings program.
- Shell Fuel Rewards
Shell Fuel Rewards has two tiers: Silver Status, which saves 3 cents per gallon on fuel purchases, and Gold Status, which saves you 5 cents a gallon.
You’ll instantly receive Gold Status for the first six full calendar months of membership. To maintain Gold Status, you only need to fill up six times with at least 5 gallons every three months. If you can maintain Gold Status, you’ll find this is one of the top gas rewards programs out there.
PRO TIP
To maintain Gold Status after six months, you’ll need to fill up six times with at least 5 gallons each time during the last three months of your introductory period.
Shell Fuel Rewards offers additional savings that can be stacked on to your status, including 5 cents off per gallon for every $50 you spend shopping online, 10 cents off per gallon for every $50 you spend on live event tickets and 10 cents off per gallon for every $50 you spend on dining at participating restaurants. You can earn additional savings for booking rental cars (25% off base rates for rental cars and earn 10 cents off per gallon for every $50 you spend).
So let’s say you earn Gold status, then another 25 cents off per gallon for shopping online and another 10 cents off for dining out. That means you’ll get a total of 40 cents off per gallon on your next fill-up of up to 20 gallons.
You can also earn more through featured offers. You must opt in to the Link & Save feature to link Fuel Rewards with your Gold Status or Silver Status savings.
To save more each time you head to the fuel pump, you can apply for the Shell | Fuel Rewards Credit Card. This is one of the best gas station credit cards on offer. The credit card earns you 30 cents off per gallon (up to 35 gallons) on your first five Shell fuel purchases made by June 30, 2023, but the rewards keep going after: You’ll continue to earn 10 cents off for every gas fill-up at Shell. You can also earn Shell rebates (ranging from 1% to 10%) on qualifying purchases.
While the gas station credit card is a nice add-on to the fuel rewards program, credit card power users will likely find they earn more with traditional cash back credit cards.
Another hallmark of Shell is its partnership with grocery stores. Earn fuel points by shopping at your favorite grocery chain and use them for discounts at Shell gas stations.

With Speedy Rewards, you’ll earn 10 points per gallon at the pump and 20 points per dollar spent in-store, plus bonus points on select items. You can also earn reward points for shopping online through the Speedy Rewards Mall.
And if you want to use points for free stuff, a minimum of 1,250 points gets you free drinks and snacks, while 5,500 points can get you a whole large pizza (or just 1,350 for a single hot slice). You can even buy gift cards.
Want to use points on fuel discounts? It takes 1,750 points to earn 10 cents off per gallon.
