Brooke Shields Opens Up About Leg Injury
Brooke Shields has opened up about her traumatic gym accident in late January which caused her to break her right femur and undergo multiple surgeries. She recalled how she flew off a balance board in a New York City gym and landed in such a way that it shattered her thigh bone. Shields confessed she thought she was paralyzed because she couldn’t feel her toes at the time. She said she wasn’t sure she’d ever walk again and needed her first surgery to insert two metal rods “one from the top of my hip down, and another across into the hip socket,” she told People magazine. Shields later needed a second surgery after the top part of her femur popped out. This procedure included an additional five rods and a metal plate to the bone. The mother of two’s journey to recovery didn’t end there. After spending two-and-a-half weeks in the hospital she went home only to return because of a staph infection and needed emergency surgery on the IV site where she had three blood transfusions. “At first they feared it might be MRSA [a type of bacteria resistant to antibiotics],” Shields said. “Thank God it wasn’t. If it had been, my doctor said it would have been a race against time. That’s how you can become septic. It seemed unthinkable.”

Sherri Shepherd Comments On The Talk Controversy
Former “View” co-host Sherri Shepherd believes Sharon Osbourne is guilty of “crossing a line” during her onscreen spat with Sheryl Underwood, which sparked an investigation into “The Talk.” The show is currently on hiatus as it continues to examine the March 10 episode, which saw Osbourne defend her friend Piers Morgan after he questioned the legitimacy of claims made by Meghan Markle in her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, the former host said she believes Osbourne took things a bit too far when she told Underwood, a Black woman, “Don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me.” “It crosses a line when you’re a grownup and somebody tells you what you can and cannot do emotionally. When they tell you: ‘You are not allowed to cry,'” Shepherd said. Shepherd said she would have maintained professionalism if she were in the same situation. “Um, I’m grown,” Shepherd continued. “I’m raising children. This is a job for me, the way it is for you. So how dare you tell me how I can act? I think that was definitely crossing the line. I would expect an apology to be forthcoming because you’re two grown women.” Shepherd added that she finds Osbourne’s claims that she’s not racist come across as “a bit hypocritical.” “It’s a little bit hard to say, ‘I’m not racist’ when you get other reports from credible people,” Shepherd said, referring to additional claims made by other television personalities of Osbourne’s past behavior. Despite her stance, Shepherd noted that “every situation is different,” hence the ongoing internal investigation.

Prince Harry Has Been Working For Months
Prince Harry has been secretly working his new Silicon Valley executive job for months — and has already landed another new gig. Just a day after he was named as the chief impact officer of online mental-health coaching service BetterUp Inc., he was confirmed as an expert investigating the “modern-day crisis” of online disinformation. Harry is one of 15 commissioners in the Aspen Institute’s six-month “Commission on Information Disorder” chaired by Katie Couric, the nonprofit announced. Described by the institute as a “humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate, and environmentalist,” Harry said he was “eager” to help “working on a solution-oriented approach to the information disorder crisis.” “As I’ve said, the experience of today’s digital world has us inundated with an avalanche of misinformation, affecting our ability as individuals as well as societies to think clearly and truly understand the world we live in,” he said in a statement shared by The Sun. His new role came after the boss of BetterUp Inc. admitted that the royal had long been working for the San Francisco-based tech company in secret long before Tuesday’s announcement of his new job. “He’s been in the role for a couple of months,” CEO Alexi Robichaux told the BBC, saying the company was “honored” to have its new hire. “He’s doing fantastic,” Robichaux said, admitting he had never before spoken to a member of royalty before his new hire.

Wendy Williams is heartbroken that her new man left New York to return home to Maryland. She got emotional while describing her “sad” goodbye with Mike Esterman, whom she met through a “Date Wendy” segment on her talk show last month. “I really like him, and he really likes me. Like it broke my heart when he was leaving,” she said on the show this week. “Like I walked him to the elevator and waited for the doors to close.” But the couple will soon reunite, as she’s planning to visit Esterman in the Free State. “Mike and I will see each other this week … He lives in Maryland, and I live here,” Williams explained. “Because of the [COVID-19] virus, you can’t do all that traveling. You can’t. A smart one doesn’t. But I’m going to see him this week. He’s busy … We talk all the time.” Williams thought she had “a lot in common” with with Esterman and posted a selfie with him following their first date.

Prince Charles Wanted To Comment More On Racism Claims
Following the release of the Harry and Meghan Oprah interview, Buckingham Palace issued a short statement which did not give any detail on the royals’ reaction to some of the more shocking claims made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Now, royal expert Katie Nicholl tells ET that there was one member of the family — Prince Charles — who initially wanted to break down the couple’s quotes point by point. Harry made several claims against his father in the interview, at one point saying Charles stopped taking his calls for a time after “I took matters into my own hands” regarding his family’s exit from working royal life. Meghan and Harry also alleged that a member of the royal family was wondering about the color of their son, Archie’s, skin before he was born. “My understanding is that Prince Charles did want to issue a more detailed statement [in response] to the Oprah interview and possibly address some of those issues point by point. But there was an evening to think about things and in the end, it was decided that a shorter statement would be better, [and] that going at things point by point could be potentially more damaging and give more ammunition for the row to continue,” Nicholl explains. “I think Prince Charles and Prince William were keen to correct some of the things that the couple had said.” “Prince Charles was particularly frustrated by the suggestion that financially he just cut the couple off, when if you speak to sources in Charles’ camp, that wasn’t the case. He did continue funding them for quite some time after they moved first to Canada and then to America,” Nicholl notes. “So yes, I think there was at one point the feeling that they did want to address more than just the issue of race.”

Shrimp In Cereal Box Takes A Hollywood Turn
The guy who found shrimp in a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch is married to the actress who played Topanga on Boy Meets World. Tuesday a man named Jensen Karp, a writer, comedian, and podcaster posted a most curious image, claiming that he’d found dried shrimp tails in his box of the popular breakfast cereal. He also found some weird black items baked into certain squares, on top of shrimp tails. Karp successfully got in contact with the cereal’s Twitter account, who claimed there was a perfectly sane explanation for all this. Unconvinced, he took it to a lab. It became a whole thing, and the whole ordeal was soon written about in The Washington Post. The story mentions his wife, Danielle Fishel Karp. And soon people realized that’s the married name of one Danielle Fishel, aka Topanga, the main squeeze of Ben Savage’s Cory Matthews on the ‘90s squeaky clean teen favorite Boy Meets World. Weird!

Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott are making headlines after a Las Vegas couple, who appeared on the twins’ show in 2019, filed a lawsuit alleging that their dream-home makeover turned out to be a renovations disaster “plagued with issues.” The homeowners say they spent an estimated $193,000 for work that was left unfinished once the cameras stopped rolling. “Some of the repairs were not up to code: Doors were not properly hung, and live wires were left exposed, along with 90 other alleged deficiencies” reveals a source. Dead Snake Found In Dryer Motor
A Florida family who called a repair service to find out why their dryer was malfunctioning said the technician discovered an unusual problem: a snake was caught in the motor. Alyson Pring of Groveland said her family contacted Sea Star Air and Appliances when their dryer started blowing an excessive amount of lint. Technician Darrell Cobble responded to the family’s home and told the family it would likely be an easy repair. “He came out said it was probably something stuck in there, the motor jammed, easy fix,” Pring told WKMG-TV. Pring said Cobble opened up the dryer and received a surprise. “He just stands up, and he walks off. He’s like, ‘There’s a dead snake in there,'” Pring said. The large snake had apparently slithered up the dryer’s exhaust vent. See the video HERE.

Cryptocurrency Buys Naming Rights To Arena
The Miami Heat are expected to become the first U.S. professional sports team to have a venue named after a cryptocurrency exchange, according to a naming-rights agreement between Miami-Dade County and FTX. The county said Tuesday in a news release that it agreed to a 19-year partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange to change the name of the Heat’s home venue from American Airlines Arena to FTX Arena. FTX allows customers to trade Bitcoin, Ethereum and other forms of cryptocurrency. The agreement must be approved by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners and the NBA. County commissioners are expected to vote on the deal at a special meeting Friday in Miami.

Frog Named After Cadbury Bunny
An Australian White’s tree frog from Florida was selected as the 2021 Cadbury Bunny, the candy company announced Tuesday. Betty, the first amphibian to represent the brand in its Easter commercials, was chosen from more than 12,000 entries in the third-annual tryouts, which included a donkey, miniature horse and goat, the company said in a statement. “Aside from being the contest’s smallest winner to date and a natural at the bunny hop, Betty is also making history as the first amphibian and first female winner,” the company said. Betty will star in the 2021 Cadbury Clucking Bunny commercial and receive a $5,000 prize. Cadbury also will donate $15,000 to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Driver Caught Going 149 mph
Police pulled over a driver in Kansas for going 149 mph. City of Overland Park, Kan., police clocked the woman’s vehicle Sunday going 149 mph on I-435 near the U.S. 69 highway, which is more than double the legal limit. Police pulled her over and issued a citation. The officer asked the woman, “Do you know how fast you were going?” In response, the woman said, “when I looked down at the speedometer, I was doing 128 mph.” Overland Park Police tweeted a message describing the incident and warning drivers to “Slow Down! See the pic HERE.

The upheaval of the past year has also put an extra premium on nostalgia.
“Experts are telling us in times of chaos, nostalgia can be the perfect remedy to help people feel calm,” said Gadi Schwartz, host of “The Overview,” a new news show on the Peacock streaming service.
Self Financial pinpointed the price of that nostalgia. Here’s a list of some of ‘90s collectibles it tracked.
- Polly Pocket’s Disney Cinderella Castle that cost $20 in 1995 could go for around $90 today.
- Since Kobe Bryant’s death, the value of Kobe-related Topps cards have risen in value to an average of as much as $65,600, a price increase of 1,311,900%.
- Magic the Gathering Alpha Black Lotus cards are the most expensive ‘90s collector’s item this year, with mint conditions selling for an average of $142,500.
- The highest-earning popular console games were for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System ($286), followed by Nintendo 64 ($217), and the Sega Genesis ($190).
- An American Girl Addy Walker doll costing $100 in 1993 now sells for around $170, the highest priced doll in the research.
- Donkey Kong Country on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is one of the most popular games sold last year on eBay, averaging $575 without the box, and $3,615 in mint condition.
- If you have a Patti the Platypus Beanie Baby, a non-mint version can sell for an average of $4,100.
- The average music poster from popular artists like Nirvana and David Bowie sells for $368.40,with mint condition Nirvana ones going for much more.
- A Matrix T-shirt from 1999 sells for an average of $175 used and $300 in mint condition.
- A Terminator ticket stub sells for an average of $15, while a Beauty and the Beast stub averages $13.
