Jeremy Renner Talks To Diane Sawyer
Jeremy Renner will discuss his snowplow accident in a new interview with Diane Sawyer. ABC News announced the hour-long special Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview — A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph on Wednesday. The special will air April 6 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. In a trailer for the interview, Renner recounted how he sustained life-threatening injuries after being run over by his 7-ton snowcat snowplow machine in January while trying to protect his nephew. “I’d do it again,” the actor said. “Yeah, I’d do it again, ’cause it’s going right at my nephew.” Renner broke more than 30 bones, including eight ribs broken in 14 places, and suffered blunt chest trauma. The actor confirmed he was conscious after the accident and remembers the pain. “All of it,” he told Sawyer. “I was awake through every moment. The trailer includes audio from the 911 call after Renner’s accident. Mark Hamill Lends Voice To Air Raid Warning
Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has lent his voice to a Ukrainian air raid app to warn citizens of incoming attacks during the ongoing conflict with Russia. “Attention. Air raid alert. Proceed to the nearest shelter,” says Hamill over Air Alert, an app linked to Ukraine’s air defense system. When the threat has passed, Hamill signs off with “The alert is over. May the Force be with you.” Invoking his beloved Luke Skywalker character, some of the lines contain recognizable quotes from the Star Wars franchise like “Don’t be careless. Your overconfidence is your weakness.” His contributions are available on iOS, Android, and Huawei as an optional English-language setting within the Air Alert app in addition to its Ukrainian-language alerts. The actor has provided lines that notify users of missile attacks, shelling, street fighting, radiation, and chemical threats. Hamill has been a vocal supporter of Ukraine throughout its conflict with Russia, having previously raffled autographed Star Wars posters to raise funds for Ukrainian forces to buy reconnaissance drones. “Here I sit in the comfort of my own home when in Ukraine there are power outages and food shortages and people are really suffering,” he said. “It motivates me to do as much as I can.” Hear it HERE.

“Curb” May Be Ending
“Curb Your Enthusiasm” may be coming to an end after 12 seasons, after two producers hinted on social media that they had wrapped production on the series for good. According to a now-deleted tweet from producer Jon Hayman, the crew finished “shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.” Hayman attached an image to his since-deleted tweet, in which David looks at a monitor displaying the apparent final scene. In the scene, Larry appears to be sitting on a plane next to J.B. Smoove’s character Leon, which, as GQ notes, is reminiscent of the Season 8 ending, when the longtime pals leave the United States to jaunt around Paris. Director and executive producer Robert B. Weide also hinted at the show’s end on Tuesday, writing: “1st day: March, 1998. Last day (?): March 27, 2023. These 25 years have flown by. Thank you, #LarryDavid.” HBO declined to comment.

Lionel Richie Gets Candid About Love Live
Lionel Richie just got extremely personal by getting real about his sex life. Richie opened up about his nearly 40-year-old song “All Night Long” while on “The View” with his fellow “American Idol” judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. Ahead of his upcoming tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, cleverly titled “Sing a Song All Night Long,” Richie was asked to give the backstory to his 1983 hit. “The first part I really, really have to say to you. Um, when I wrote ‘All Night Long’ it was truly all night long. Now my all night long is down to a fierce 15 minutes, but don’t worry we’ll talk about that later,” he said cheekily. “15 minutes, that’s long bud,” Perry said excitedly, giving Richie, 73, a handshake. “Damn right,” Richie said, as he shook hands with Bryan. “And don’t you forget that, all right,” he told the audience. Richie is currently in a relationship with longtime girlfriend Lisa Parigi, who is 40 years his junior. Adam Sandler Has Hip Replacement
Adam Sandler’s action sequences in Murder Mystery 2 are anything but ordinary. The sequel, led by Jennifer Aniston and Sandler, is scheduled to drop on Netflix. Sandler admitted that not long after filming on the second installment wrapped, he had to undergo hip replacement surgery as a result of his intense work on set. According to Sandler, at the film’s premiere at the Regency Village Theatre, the actor might have over-exerted himself after doing “so many movies in a row.” Even though Sandler’s well-humored persona at the premiere would definitely not give sight to any underlining physical issues, the actor admits he faced some fears while shooting. “Everything’s scary at 56 years old,” the actor said, “You never know what the hell you’re gonna get up from. I’m sluggy, man. My body hurts.” Aside from his physical exhaustion, the actor went on to praise his co-star, despite the actress admitting to suffering from an injury on her last day of shooting. “Jennifer is in good shape,” Sandler said, “I didn’t think I needed to get in shape before the movie, but then when we were shooting, I was like, ‘Man, I should have gotten in shape.’” Murder Mystery 2 will finally be available on Netflix on March 31.

Woman Discovers 2nd Shower In Her Bathroom
A British woman renovating her home said she was shocked when she removed a bathroom wall and discovered an intact shower. Hannah Otto of Hampshire, England, said she purchased the home in 2020 and has been renovating the house ever since. Otto posted a video to TikTok showing what she discovered when she removed a bathroom wall that had been leaking due to tile being installed directly onto wooden panels. “The shower we were using was leaking due to movement in the tiles and I just knew — because the house is full of really bad DIY — that they probably hadn’t used any waterproofing underneath the tiles,” Otto told Newsweek. She looked behind the wall and found a second shower. “I was really shocked to find a whole other shower behind,” she said. “Then I noticed another hole in the tiles of the secret shower, through which I can see another layer of tiles behind — and a mirror.” Otto said the discovery is the latest in a series of surprises since she began renovations on the house. Dog and Goat Are Best Friends
A North Carolina animal shelter is trying to find a new home for an unusual pair of bonded animals — a dog and a goat. The Wake County Animal Center said in a news release that “best friends” Cinnamon the goat and Felix the dog were brought to the shelter by City of Raleigh Animal Control on March 13, after their previous owner was no longer able to care for them. Shelter director Jennifer Federico said staff were surprised to see the bond between the two animals, especially considering how often they had seen the aftermath of dog attacks on goats. “That’s not a normal combination,” Federico told WTVD-TV. “Usually, we have dogs attacking goats so this is just a very unusual group.” Federico said Cinnamon is so attached to Felix that she will cry when the two animals are separated. She said officials are currently looking at rescue options, but will consider adoption by members of the public if a new home isn’t found by March 31. She said the shelter is determined to find the duo a home together.

Firefighters Free Person From Handcuffs
Police and firefighters in England teamed up for an unusual rescue when a person on the street approached officers and asked for help escaping from a set of handcuffs. “An unusual job today,” Heath Town and East Park Police tweeted. “We helped someone OUT of handcuffs.” Police said the West Midlands Fire Service helped officers free the person from the handcuffs. It was unclear how the person came to be bound in the cuffs, but the department tweeted the cause was “not a police issue.”

Tiger Stolen In Mexico
Prosecutors in the violent northern state of Sonora, Mexico said Tuesday they are searching for a full-grown Bengal tiger named Baluma. They said the 5-year-old male tiger was stolen Monday from a home in the state capital, Hermosillo. They said the owners had the proper paperwork needed to keep the animal. Prosecutors distributed photos of the big cat resting in its cage alongside a dog, hoping residents will phone police if they see the tiger. Mexico has long had a problem with people keeping — and occasionally losing control of — large cats, which are sometimes found at drug traffickers’ residences and are occasionally seen wandering loose.

How To Get Rid Of The Ads That Follow You Around Online

Enable the ‘do not track’ feature in your web browser.
“This feature sends a signal to the websites you visit that you would like to not be tracked. Some websites may ignore the request, but others may abide by it,” said Abdul Rahim, founder and CEO of the website Software Test Tips. You should be able to find the “do not track” feature in your browser’s settings, although you may have to hunt around for it. For instance, in Chrome, it’s in Settings, and from there, you click onto Privacy and Security, and then go into Cookies and Other Site Data.
Use an ad blocker on your device.
“Ad blockers are programs that prevent ads from appearing on your screen by blocking the code that websites use to display them,” Rahim explained. “There are a variety of ad blockers available, both as browser extensions and stand-alone programs.” Many ad blockers are free; some aren’t. There can be some downsides to them, such as ad blockers sometimes interfering with being able to navigate easily around a website. And, of course, many websites and blogs make money from ads. If everyone ues an ad blocker, in theory, advertising revenue will dry up for websites and there might be more paywalls, or fewer websites and blogs as they go out of business. But if you truly hate ads, sure, it’s worth considering.
Use different browsers for different activities.
This is Rahim’s personal preference. He said he’ll use one browser for online shopping and another for social media. “This way, you can configure each browser differently so that the tracking cookies used by various websites are stored separately,” he says.
Don’t use Google or Bing.
Yeah, yeah, we all love Google, and Bing has been getting a lot of buzz for its improved search engine. But Sankar Gopinath, digital marketing manager at Rapyder Cloud Solutions, suggests not using some of the most popular search engines — at least if you’re buying products or services that you think might come back to haunt you in ads later. “Try Google alternatives such as DuckDuckGo as your search engine. They do not track you to serve targeted ads,” he said.
Shop while using ‘incognito.’
Gopinath suggests this strategy, too. “Use incognito while shopping and doing searches in Google or Bing, or any search engine for that matter,” he said. It’s also sometimes called “private browsing.” All of the big browsers have some version of this. For instance, with Safari, if you’re on your iPhone or iPad, you’ll look for an icon that looks like two squares on top of each other. Tap on that, and you’ll open a new tab. Then you select Private from the bottom left corner, which will open a Private tab. Finding the Private button is a little different if you’re on a Mac. You’ll have to select File from the top left corner of Safari and then press New Private Browsing.
With Chrome, look for the three vertical dots at the top right corner. The third item down should be New Incognito Window. Click on that, and you’re there. The downsides to private browsing are that if you put stuff in your shopping cart, they won’t be saved for later. On the other hand, if you’re doing birthday shopping for your spouse or kids or somebody else, you’re not going to later have ads for those products pop up on your computer screen or device, possibly giving away what gifts they’ll be getting. And, yeah, see? Being stalked by ads doesn’t always mean that you’re shopping for something embarrassing that you don’t want anybody else to see. You could be shopping to get somebody an awesome gift. You are so thoughtful.
Use the ‘panic button.’
Many browsers have panic button extensions that you can download — at least the main ones, like Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Firefox browsers. As one extension creator for Firefox puts it, “Don’t want the boss to catch you surfing the web on company time? Don’t want your teacher, classmates, roommate or significant other to see the websites you’re viewing? With Panic Button, a single click of a toolbar button will quickly hide all Firefox browser windows and open a new window displaying a website of your choice — click the toolbar button again to bring back your browser windows.” Granted, this is kind of off the topic of not wanting family or friends to see ads — you’ll be using the panic button to hide the entire website that you’re looking at. But, still, if you have a bunch of weird ads splashed on a webpage, or ads of gifts that you’ve purchased for a family member, and you’re in a full-blown panic, there is a button for that.
Delete cookies.
Just to review, for those who don’t remember what cookies are when it comes to websites, they are small pieces of data sent to your browser by the websites you visit. Cookies allow websites to remember you. When you log in to a website, and your username and password is stored there, so you don’t have to type it all in, that’s due to a cookie. When you go to a shopping cart, and you have stuff in it that you looked at a couple of days ago, it stayed in your cart due to cookies. “When you visit websites, you can choose to accept or decline cookies when there is an option to do so,” said Mihae Ahn, vice president of marketing at ProServe IT, a cloud and IT service provider. “Some websites show you a text box at the bottom when you first visit them, giving you the option to accept or decline cookies,” she said. “Another way to clear cookies is to change settings. For example, if you use Chrome, open the browser, click the three dots at the top right, and click Privacy and Security. You will be able to clear all cookies or data from a specific site.”
But let’s get real. Most of us aren’t going to do this.
The final word on removing ads from your computer.
Actually, most of us probably won’t do any of what we just suggested. We’re online so much, and ads are often part of the experience, and if you have to work hard to avoid them, you’re probably going to throw up your hands and just use the internet the way you always have. But it should be nice to know that if you are shopping for products or a service that you’d rather keep private, you do have better options.
