Country Star Ghosted By Chris Evans
Country star Jana Kramer remembers an “embarrassing” date she had with Chris Evans. She detailed the encounter with him during Monday’s episode of her “Whine Down” podcast. She explained she knew Evans “pretty well” in the past. “I honestly can’t remember how we met … it was before, obviously, way before Instagram. … He had just done, like, the Scarlett Johansson movie,” Kramer shared of Evans’ rising fame. “He was, like, the heartthrob cutie.” While explaining she went on a “few dates” with Evans, she shared a memorable moment, one she said, was her “last interaction ever” with the actor. “To this day I’m actually sort of mortified. … Like, this is so embarrassing,” she admitted. “He called me over and he had some of his Boston friends over. So, I went to his place … and it was going to be a sleepover. And he had all of his friends there. We were all hanging out, it was a fun time.” At a point in the night, Kramer told Evans she was “a little sleepy” before she headed to bed. “I had asparagus for dinner that night. Anne Heche Estate Sued
The estate of late actress Anne Heche is being sued by Lynne Mishele, the woman who was living in the home, which was destroyed after Heche’s vehicle crashed into the house and erupted into flames. Heche was transported to the hospital following the collision on Aug. 5th and died one week later at the age of 53. Mishele’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, submitted documents to the Los Angeles County court Nov. 9 seeking a creditor’s claim, and filed the claim requesting “according to proof but at least $2 million.” Sources told Fox News Digital that creditor claims are “common” and part of the process when seeking monetary damages from an estate, especially when “liability or amount of debt is disputed.” Mishele was renting the home that was destroyed Aug. 5 after Heche crashed her Mini Cooper into the house. While Mishele escaped unharmed, she was immediately displaced and her pets narrowly avoided death. Days after the incident, Mishele’s attorney said she was “devastated” following the collision. “Ms. Mishele is devastated by what happened to her on Friday — not only because she and her pets almost lost their lives but because all of her property, including items of profound sentimental value, were destroyed,” Shawn Holley, the tenant’s attorney, told Fox News Digital at the time. “She asks for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”

Jimmy Fallon is alive and well after a hashtag suggesting he died went viral Tuesday night. To help rectify the death hoax, the “Tonight Show” host sought out Elon Musk’s help, tweeting, “Elon, can you fix this? #RIPJimmyFallon.” Musk has yet to respond to the late-night host’s request, though perhaps it’s because Fallon didn’t specifically tag him. Musk has faced an onslaught of problems since taking over the social medium, which already was forced to suspend his Twitter Blue launch after so-called “verified” account impersonators surged.

Brendan Fraser Won’t Attend Golden Globes
Brendan Fraser intends to skip Golden Globes 2023 despite likely receiving a nomination for his work in the forthcoming film “The Whale.” Fraser said in his GQ cover story that he “will not participate” in the awards show after he claimed former Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Philip Berk sexually assaulted him. “I have more history with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association than I have respect for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association,” he added, referencing the organization that runs the annual show. “It’s because of the history that I have with them. And my mother didn’t raise a hypocrite. You can call me a lot of things, but not that,” Fraser said. He previously claimed in 2018 that Berk, 89, sexually assaulted him during a luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2003 and caused him to be blacklisted from Hollywood. “His left hand reaches around, grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint,” Fraser claimed of what was meant to be a handshake. “And he starts moving it around.” Fraser told GQ that the alleged incident left him “ill” and traumatized. “I felt like a little kid. I felt like there was a ball in my throat. I thought I was going to cry. I felt like someone had thrown invisible paint on me.” Berk, however, called Fraser’s claims “a total fabrication.” After the “George of the Jungle” star came forward with his allegation, the HFPA launched an investigation, which later dismissed his groping as a “joke.”

Meghan Markle Accused Of Faking Interviews
Meghan Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast is under fire. One of her former podcast guests has sparked speculation that she never actually spoke to her for the interview. Allison Yarrow — author of “90s Bitch: Media, Culture and the Failed Promise of Gender Equality” — appeared on the podcast in an episode titled “To ‘B’ or not to ‘B’ ” in which the royal discussed how calling a woman “difficult” is “a code word for the B-word.” Yarrow’s explanations and comments are apparently edited and interwoven between comments from Meghan in the podcast audio, the Daily Mail reported. Meanwhile, in a resurfaced Instagram post from August, Yarrow shared a photo of herself post-“Archetypes” interview in front of a sign for audio production house Gimlet Media — and thanked a producer for being “an excellent interviewer.” “Excited to be included in the visionary series #Archetypes hosted by Meghan the Duchess of Sussex the aims to dissect and subvert the archetypes that hold women back,” Yarrow wrote in the caption. “Cheers to producer @farrahsafari (an excellent interviewer) and the folks at @Gimlet @Spotify who get it done,” she added. With the seemingly shady caption by Yarrow, some social media watchdogs are now speculating that Markle doesn’t do the work with the guests on the podcast — but in other episodes she is obviously featured having full, complete conversations with guests, such as Jameela Jamil, Serena Williams, Paris Hilton and Mindy Kaling.

Lost Dog Wanders Into Police Station
A dog who wandered away while out for a walk in England was reunited with her owner after the canine walked through the front door of a police station. Leicestershire Police posted a video to Facebook showing the border collie, named Rosie, calmly walking into the Loughborough Police Station through the automatic doors. “Our staff fetched some water for Rosie, and made fast friends with plenty of fuss. Thankfully she was wearing a collar, so a lead was available to contact Rosie’s owner, who was delighted she had been found safe and well,” the post said. Rosie’s owner said the canine had wandered off while out for a walk with a second dog. See the video HERE.

Minks Escape!
Vandalism freed thousands of mink at a rural northwest Ohio farm, leaving an estimated 10,000 of the small carnivorous mammals unaccounted for Tuesday evening, the local sheriff said. So many minks were killed crossing a nearby road that a plow was brought in to help clear the carcasses away, said Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas Riggenbach. The property owner initially estimated 25,000 to 40,000 mink were released from their cages at Lion Farms, Riggenbach said. But he said employees at the farm were able to corral many of the ones that remained on the property, which is less than 15 miles from the Indiana state line. A farm manager told WANE-TV that someone left a spray-painted message of the letters “ALF” and the phrase “we’ll be back.” The sheriff’s office initially warned residents in the area to be cautious with poultry flocks, small pets and koi ponds that the mink might attack, but it later said the freed mink are considered domesticated and likely lack the skills to survive in the wild.

Another Florida Man Classic
A Pensacola man is behind bars after his roommate walked in on him attempting to have sex with his dog, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Edward George Dare, 35, was charged with sexual contact with an animal. On Nov. 14, deputies said they responded to a home in Pensacola in reference to an animal incident. Dare’s roommate said Dare had recently gotten a husky and shepherd mix dog named Toby off of Craigslist. On Nov. 13, the witness said he walked in on Dare laying on the bed with Toby, at which time he saw Dare trying to engage in a sex act with the dog. Due to animal control not being able to respond to the residence, the neighbor housed Toby until animal control could respond. While housing the dog, the witness said Dare asked her to return Toby to him and “promised it would not happen again.”

A Texas woman who stands at 6 feet and 9 inches tall was awarded a Guinness World Record for having the world’s largest feet. Guinness World Records announced Tanya Herbert of Houston was bestowed the title of largest feet on a living person (female) after her right foot was measured at 13.03 inches long and her left foot was measured at 12.79 inches long. Herbert wears a women’s size 18 shoes or a men’s size 16-17, depending on the brand. She stands only three inches shorter than the tallest woman living, Rumeysa Gelgi of Turkey, who stands 7 feet and .7 inches tall. Herbert said she has to shop for shoes online, since no stores carry products large enough for her feet. She said other large-footed women she met online offered her some tips so she doesn’t have to exclusively dress in men’s shoes.

Here’s What Happens To Your Brain And Body If You Work More Than 40 Hours A Week

- Your risk of dying from a stroke or heart attack goes up.
Working too long can be a serious, and sometimes even fatal, health hazard. According to a 2021 global study by the World Health Organization and the International Labour Organization, working long hours (which the study defined as more than 55 per week) caused 745,000 deaths from cardiovascular diseases in 2016 alone. Working 55 hours or more a week was associated with a 35% higher risk of stroke and a 17% higher risk of dying from heart disease, compared with working 35 to 40 hours a week. “Long working hours can directly cause a cardiovascular disease event by increasing stress that damages cells in the brain and the heart,” Frank Pega, a WHO technical officer and the lead author of the paper, told HuffPost. “They can also indirectly cause such disease events by triggering risky behavioral responses, such as less physical exercise, a less nutritious diet, or less sleeping time.” His advice to those stuck working more than 40 hours a week? Organize with your co-workers and management for better working conditions. “Workers and employers can enshrine healthy working hours in collective bargaining agreements,” Pega said. “Workers, governments and employers also all have a role to play in monitoring working hours against adherence to healthy limits.”

Working long hours also puts you at a greater risk of getting physically hurt while working.
In one study that looked at 110,236 job records from 1987 to 2000 using national longitudinal surveys, working at least 12 hours per day was associated with a 37% increased hazard rate, while working at least 60 hours per week was associated with a 23% increased hazard rate.
- Your mental health worsens.
When you keep sacrificing your need to rest in order to keep working, it can take a toll on your psyche.
One 2020 study published in the journal PLOS One looked at Korean workers in their 20s and 30s who worked from 31 to over 60 hours a week. The researchers found that the longer these employees worked, the higher levels of stress, depression and suicidal ideation they faced.
- Your sleep suffers.
When you’re staying up late to meet a boss’ deadline, your sleep pays the price.
In a review of 200 studies from 1998 to 2018, researchers writing in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health concluded that “Short sleep duration… is the problem to be most concerned about with regard to long working hours,” citing how people who worked between 50-60 hours weekly in the studies were dealing with greater fatigue, worse cognitive function, more work injuries and mental health issues. That’s because sleep is critical for our well-being. When you get less than six hours of sleep a night, you’re not just going to be grumpy at work the next day. Multiple studies have found that you will get more distracted, anxious, irritable and susceptible to impulsively taking bigger risks.
- You actually stop being good at your job.
The fact is, working longer hours doesn’t lead to better work. University of California, Berkeley, management professor Morten Hansen conducted a five-year survey of 5,000 employees and managers across industries. He found that working between 30 and 50 hours can improve someone’s performance, but that if they work more than 50 hours, their job performance starts to plateau. And if they work more than 65 hours a week, their performance sharply drops off.
“Yes, you need to work hard (about 50 hours per week in my dataset), but that’s completely different from saying you need to work harder than others to rise to the top,” Hansen wrote on his website.
His findings are similar to what Stanford economist John Pencavel concluded about the productivity of munitions plant workers during World War I. These factory employees did repetitive tasks each shift and were asked to do between 60 to more than 100 hours of work a week. Using the British Health of Munition Workers Committee’s analysis of their hours, Pencaval found that factory employees could increase their output if they worked up to 49 hours per week. But after that, working harder paid off less and less, and the chances of injury increased.
“Employees at work for a long time may experience fatigue or stress that not only reduces his or her productivity but also increases the probability of errors, accidents, and sickness that impose costs on the employer,” Pencavel concluded. The bottom line for businesses? Asking an employee to work longer does not necessarily lead to better results. But it will certainly risk their health.
