Who Did Kim Kardashian Vote For?

Kim Kardashian was one of many celebrities who flaunted their “I voted” stickers on social media Tuesday, but fans are demanding to know whom she voted for.  She bragged about voting in the 2020 election, encouraging her fans to cast their ballots for the next president. “I VOTED!!!! Did u???” she wrote. “If you are in line when the hours of operation close at the polls, they are required to stay open and allow you to vote, so do not get out of line.”  Fans were not impressed by her call to action, though, and instead insisted she reveal which candidate she voted for: Donald Trump, Joe Biden or her husband, Kanye West, who earlier bragged that he wrote in his own name.  A rep for Kardashian declined to comment.  West shared a video of his ballot with his name written in. “God is so good Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust…me,” he wrote, before later conceding his defeat and vowing to run again in 2024.

Lori Loughlin Having Tough Time In Prison

Lori Loughlin is reportedly having a tough first week in prison.  She started her two-month prison sentence on Friday for her role in the college admissions scandal.  She reported to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, Calif., on Friday.  Just five days in, sources tell Us Weekly she went into her sentence “strong” but is still reeling from her new reality.  “She had her faith and the support of her family, but the first few days and road ahead are daunting,” the source told the magazine.  A second insider told the outlet that she is trying “her best to be brave” but there has been “nothing that could dissipate her fears” in recent weeks.  “It’s only two months but she’s dreading it,” the second source added. “Her mind keeps telling her that something will go horribly wrong in prison or that her stay could be prolonged.”  The second source added that she’s been a “wreck.”  FCI Dublin is a low-security federal prison for roughly 1,200 female inmates.

Dancing Judge Says She’s Bullied On The Show

Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba said she was cyberbullied for her pointed critique of Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev’s jive performance on Nov. 2.  “I still get bullied,” she said Tuesday on “The Talk,” where she’s a co-host. “Right about this time is when people start to bully me because of the way I judge people. I can’t believe it still happens as adults.”  Many fans took issue with the judge docking Bristowe and Chigvintsev points this week due to what she considered an illegal lift during their routine.  “I want to tell people who bully,” she went on. “‘It doesn’t make me change the way I judge. I’m not about to change because you try to bully me. It only makes me stand stronger in my convictions and what I believe in.’”  A dancer herself, she added, “Just so you all know, for all of you trying to bully me about it, I judge the way I judge from my background. That is my job to do it and I will always do it based on my own conscience, not because you’re trying to tell me what to do.”  Chigvintsev also expressed frustration with Inaba’s recent critiques, telling ET, “At this point, it starts being a little personal … I feel it’s definitely, maybe not a different standard, but I feel like it’s different expectations,” he expressed on Monday night.

The Royal Family Misses Archie

A friend of Prince Charles reportedly said “everyone really misses Archie” and that the royals are upset about missing out on seeing him grow up.  Speaking to the Mail Online, the friend, who chose to remain anonymous, said the prince would regularly visit Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at their Windsor home before they relocated to North America last year. “The Prince of Wales enjoyed popping into Frogmore Cottage to see his youngest grandchild and is sad that he hasn’t seen him for so long,” they said. “He has missed much of his development since he is now growing up in the USA.”  “Other members of the family are very sad at not seeing him. Everyone really misses Archie – they feel it’s particularly sad for the Queen and Prince Philip. Harry always said he looked forward to raising his family with William’s – which of course is not now happening,” the friend added. Harry and Markle took Archie on a sabbatical to Vancouver Island in Canada for Thanksgiving and Christmas last year. The couple remained there as they transitioned from their previous roles as working royals in January until March, when they moved to California after officially dropping their HRH titles.

Julianne In a Huff Over Derek’s Fame-(National Enquirer)

Dancing siblings Derek and Julianne Hough are out of step-over her sloppy personal life and his hot new judging career!  “These two were supposed to be the next Donny and Marie Osmond, but his solo career is exploding while hers falls apart,” insiders say.  “When Julianne was getting offered movies and TV roles without him, Derek was very supportive.  But now the dance shoe is on the other foot and they’re at war.”

Kidman Crushed By Julia Roberts-(Globe)

Good news/bad news for Nicole Kidman, 53, who is starring opposite dapper Brit actor Hugh Grant in their new HBO thriller series, “The Undoing.”  The pair plays a husband and wife embroiled in a Manhattan murder mystery.  Sounds pretty good!  The bad news:  Nicole once desperately dreamed of playing 60-year-old Hugh’s love interest in his 1999 smash flick “Notting Hill”-but never stood a Hollywood chance.  “And I really wanted the role that Julia Roberts played,” she tells Hugh, honestly admitting, “But I wasn’t well-known enough-and I wasn’t talented enough.”

Tim & Kelly:  Confident Couple-(Us Weekly)

Kelly Rowland has Beyonce to thank for helping her feel hot during her second pregnancy.  “B really inspired me to step up my maternity clothes game,” the singer, says.  This new sexiness that she’s emanating is also spicing things up in her six-year marriage with Tim Weatherspoon.  On date nights with her man, Rowland, 39, is always “trying to keep my hands to myself,” she jokes.  “The hormones!”

Mila Keeps Nannies Away From Ashton-(Star)

Mila Kunis knew exactly who she was marrying when she said “I do” to Ashton Kutcher, 42, in 2015.  “Mila has known Ashton for many years-ever since they did That ‘70s Show,” says an insider.  So the 37-year-old is careful when it comes to who she’ll hire to help with the couple’s two kids.  “Mila publicly insists she trusts Ashton, but there’s no getting away from his past, and she’s to going to give him any reason to pull a Ben Affleck,” says the insider.  (Ben reportedly cheated with babysitter Christine Ousounian while married to Jennifer Garner.)  “Mila steers clear of anyone who seems flirtatious or overly friendly-or is a dead ringer for any of the girls Ashton’s hooked up with in the past!”

Demi’s Dating Bella’s Ex-(Life & Style)

Demi Lovato has no interest in giving her heart a break.  The singer, 28, has been spotted hanging out with Bella Thorne’s ex-boyfriend Mod Sun in the wake of her split from Max Ehrich.  The pair were photographed looking cozy in the backseat of an SUV during a fast food run in LA on Oct. 13.  “Mod Sun makes her laugh, and that’s exactly what Demi needs right now,” dishes a source.  Former BFF Bella, 23, doesn’t find the news funny though.  The actress dated the rapper, 33, for a year before calling it quits in April 2019, and while she’s “totally over him,” says the source, “Bella can’t help feeling hurt that Demi broke girl code.”  Sorry not sorry?

One Last Thing:  Cheryl Hines-(People)

The actress, 55, is a panelist for Fox’s new reality singing competition I Can See Your Voice.

Last text that made me laugh-

A friend sent me a happy-birthday video with Donny Osmond singing “It’s your birthday, Cheryl,” like an e-card.  I’ve watched it a thousand times.

Last time I was starstruck-

Morgan Freeman.  I was at a cocktail party, and to hear an iconic voice-the same one who does the voice of God-say your name, I still haven’t gotten over it.

Last DIY project-

I’ve been trying to scrape the calcium buildup off the pool tiles.  I wanted to do it in the morning before it got too hot, so I was hanging upside down in my bathrobe with a razor scraper.  Pretty sexy.

The Incredible Shrinking Adele-(In Touch)

NYC, Oct.24

“I had to travel light and only bring half of me,” cracked Adele in her Saturday Night Live monologue.  Says one backstage source, “She looked so skinny.”

Man’s Ashes Wash Up On Shore

A trio of friends fishing on a North Carolina beach ended up finding something more unusual than a fish — a message in a bottle containing a man’s ashes.  Kelly Bergenstock said she was fishing at Nags Head with Dana Hedgepath and Tricia Bonday, her fellow members of the “Looney Tunas” fishing team, when she came across something in the sand.  “I see this bottle has washed up right next to my leg and I’m like, ‘Oh my God. It’s a message in a bottle.’ I always wanted to find one of these,” Bergenstock told the Outer Banks Voice.  The women took the bottle back to their truck and opened it. While using pliers to remove the note inside, Bergenstock noticed the bottle also contained what appeared to be the ashes from a cremation.  The note turned out to have been written by a woman whose husband, Scott Lovett McKinney, died in 2018.  The Looney Tunas did some research online and were able to contact his widow, Camille Halley.  “For him to wash up down there, with three crazy women on a beach in the middle of a northeaster — that’s so classic Scott,” Halley said. “Like, ‘don’t write me off, I’m not done. I’m gonna get one last crazy ride with three crazy women on a beach, and then start my journey.'”  Halley said McKinney liked to go sailing and would often launch his own messages in bottles in the hopes of hearing from someone who found one.

Coconuts For College!

A hospitality college in Indonesia is offering students hard hit by the economic slowdown the chance to pay their tuition in coconuts and other natural materials.  The Venus One Tourism Academy in Gianyar, Bali, said students facing financial hardships will be allowed to pay their tuition and other fees by bringing in coconuts that the school uses to harvest virgin coconut oil.  Officials said students can also pay fees with moringa leaves and gotu kola leaves, which are used to make products like herbal soap.  The products made from the coconuts and other materials will be sold on campus to raise funds for the school, officials said.  The school said it has implemented numerous safety measures to remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic, including mandatory mask wearing, reduced class sizes and frequent temperature checks.

Guy Straps Snowmobile On Top Of Car

The Wisconsin State Patrol had some advice for a guy who tried to transport a snowmobile by strapping it to the roof of his car: Bad idea.  A trooper pulled over the driver on Highway 63 in northwestern Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon after seeing the snowmobile perched sideways on top of a Toyota Corolla.  The Wisconsin Department of Transportation tweeted a photo of the car with the Polaris topper with the message: “Folks, don’t try this at home.”  The driver was given a warning about the unsafe hauling technique and cited for failing to buckle up, according to DOT spokeswoman Christena O’Brien.  The driver, Matthew Schmit, of Clayton, told the trooper he had just bought the snowmobile and was driving it over to a friend’s house, the Star Tribune reported.  “I know it looks sketchy, but we had it strapped down and shook it,” he said. “Up like in this kind of region, stuff like this gets seen all the time, but more like the back roads.”

9 Things Sleep Doctors Would Never Do At Night Before Going To Bed

Huffington Post

  1. They don’t watch the news.

“Even though nighttime might seem like the perfect time to catch up on the latest COVID-19 information or the presidential race, we should try to avoid things that can cause anxiety before bed. Unfortunately, nowadays the news is filled with things that can cause worry and other unwanted emotions that you definitely want to avoid if you are hoping to get a good night’s sleep. The news, in some ways, keeps people up late at night the same way that a horror movie can. Images and information regarding violence or fear stimulate your mind preventing you from having a smooth transition into sleep.” — Raj Dasgupta, associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine

  1. They avoid working in bed.

“With the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant proportion of our population is working from home these days, and as such, your home has become your office. You want to avoid at all costs working from your bed, however, as you want to maintain the relationship with the brain that the bed is only for two things — sleep and sex.

As you do more and more mentally stimulating activities in bed, the brain slowly develops a psychological association of the bed being a place to stay awake rather than sleep. This, in turn, can trigger people to develop sleep-onset insomnia. Your house is already your office, so during these difficult times, use the bed as your sanctuary — a place to relax, escape work and sleep.” ― Ruchir P. Patel, medical director of the Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona

  1. They don’t work out.

“Exercise in the morning or during the daytime can go a long way to helping improve insomnia symptoms at night, but exercise late in the day can be counterproductive. Many people try to exercise at night with the goal of ‘wearing themselves out,’ but are inadvertently making it harder for themselves to fall asleep.” ― Stacey Gunn, sleep medicine physician at the Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona

  1. They steer clear of tense conversations.

“Try your hardest to avoid a heated conversation with your significant other before bed. As the saying goes, never go to bed angry, or bad feelings will harden into resentment. There is research to support the idea that negative emotional memories are harder to reverse after a night’s sleep.

Plus, anger is a huge turn-off. If you do this repeatedly, it creates an unhealthy pattern, and destroys potential opportunities for sexual intimacy. Confrontations lead to a stress response, which is exactly opposite of what you want if you’re trying to fall asleep easily. It’s important to create a peaceful environment for you and your partner to have a good night’s sleep. Instead of fighting, maybe snuggle up together and watch ‘Love Actually,’ one of my personal favorites.” — Dasgupta

  1. They absolutely do not consume caffeine.

“Avoid drinking any caffeinated drinks past 2 p.m. Caffeinated drinks —including coffee, soda, iced tea, pre-work out drinks or energy drinks — act as a stimulant. Caffeine blocks adenosine receptors — and adenosine [plays a role in] sleep homeostasis.” — Anupama Ramalingam, sleep medicine physician at the Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona

  1. They try to avoid drinking alcohol.

“Some people end up self-medicating with a nightcap, because it does help them to fall asleep more easily at the beginning of the night. But I recommend against it because it causes the sleep architecture to be disrupted later on, resulting in poor quality sleep. If I do have a drink in the evening, I try to separate it from bedtime, and give the alcohol a chance to clear out of my system before going to sleep.” ― Gunn

  1. They don’t use electronic devices (without a blue light filter).

“In sleep and circadian science, we use the term ‘zeitgeber’ — or ‘time giver’ — to describe environmental cues that help us entrain to a 24-hour cycle. Light is the most powerful zeitgeber that signals the brain to stay awake. Prolonged exposure to bright light around bedtime keeps us awake and reduces the amount of sleep we get. Exposure to light at night also suppresses the brain’s natural production of melatonin, a hormone that is released in response to darkness and helps us to fall asleep.” ― Anita Shelgikar, clinical associate professor of neurology and director of the sleep medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan

  1. They also don’t keep the lights in their home turned up bright.

“I was reminded during a fishing trip to the Outer Banks [in North Carolina] with my nephews of the importance of avoiding artificial light before bedtime. We were forced to use propane lanterns on the island each night as there was no electricity available. Several of the parents on the fishing trip remarked that the darkness had improved their sleep so much that they might pitch the idea of ‘Lantern Tuesday’ to their spouses: A night each week dedicated to reducing light exposure and improving sleep sounds like a great idea to me!

Exposure to bright light suppresses melatonin secretion. Plus, alteration of the circadian rhythm (or the daily rhythmic sleep-wake cycle) by nocturnal light exposure may contribute to cardiovascular and metabolic disease. What sort of practical steps can one take to avoid bright light? Dim the lights in the home except for a few lamps several hours before bed.” — William J. Healy, assistant professor of medicine and director of sleep quality improvement at Augusta University.

  1. They make sure they don’t spend a long time awake in bed.

“Many of our patients will give themselves a 10-hour sleep window but realistically are only asleep for six to eight hours. Please do not spend more time in bed than you really need. All the extra time in bed awake results in your brain starting to develop an association that the bed is a place to be awake and also sleep. But this, in turn, can result in disruption of your sleep drive and thus result in poor sleep efficiency and sleep quality.” — Patel
