The Young “Rock” Cast
Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant and Uli Latukefu will play Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at ages 10, 15 and 18 in the new sitcom, Young Rock, NBC announced Wednesday. The network has ordered 11 episodes of the show, which is to debut in 2021. The series is being executive produced by Johnson, Nahnatchka Khan, Jeff Chiang, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Brian Gewirtz and Jennifer Carreras. Khan and Chiang wrote the pilot, and Khan is the series’ showrunner. Johnson is expected to appear in each episode to set up that night’s story. Stacey Leilua and Joseph Lee Anderson will play Johnson’s parents, Ata and Rocky. The real Rocky Johnson died this year at age 75.

The Lion King Sequel In the Works
Disney is developing a follow-up to its 2019 photo-realistic remake of The Lion King with filmmaker Barry Jenkins attached to direct. The sequel will touch on the early years of Mufasa, who was originally voiced by James Earl Jones in the 2019 film and the animated film from 1994. Jeff Nathanson is returning to pen the script. The 2019 film, from director Jon Favreau, grossed $1.5 billion globally. Disney has not announced a release date or production start date for the sequel. It remains unknown if any of the cast from the 2019 film will be returning. Donald Glover voiced Simba with Beyonce as Nala, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar.

Jennifer Aniston spoke with “SmartLess” podcast hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes about her career, admitting that she’s actually contemplated a departure from acting altogether. “I would have to say the last two years that has crossed my mind, which it never did before,” Aniston said of leaving the industry. Noting that she initially had these thoughts before filming “The Morning Show,” the “Friends” alum said her contemplation was spurred by not knowing where her passions lie. “I don’t know if this is what interests me,” she said. Without divulging details, the actress informed the three actors that she was involved with one project that “sucked the life out of me.” But “Friends” diehards will be pleased to know that when asked what project has been a career highlight for her, the popular TV sitcom tops the list. “That’s a no-brainer,” she said of the show that saw her star alongside her Hollywood BFF Courteney Cox. “I would have to say that’s number one.”

Fresh Prince Cast Reunites
Will Smith and some of his cast members on “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunited earlier this month to tour the famous mansion for the 30th anniversary of the sitcom. Smith was joined by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Joseph Marcell. For fans lucky enough to snag the Airbnb deal once booking started on Tuesday, the home is available to rent for only five dates next month for $30. On Monday, a video tour of the mansion aired. Smith and Jeff who played onscreen best friends, met up before the rest of the cast to take photos and shoot videos. Memorabilia was scattered throughout the home. Some of the rooms replicated the set where the stars actually filmed the indoor scenes. Only the facade of the building was used on the sitcom. Castmates Alfonso Ribeiro and Janet Hubert-Whitten, who played the original Aunt Vivian Banks character, were not in attendance although they will appear on the HBO Max reunion special airing in November.

Derek Jeter was only the second person that Mariah Carey slept ever with. She reveals that in her just-released memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” adding that the first time they slept together at his house in Tampa, his sister Sharlee was also there so, “basically it was an eighth-grade event.” He had a longtime crush on Carey hanging her posters in his bedroom as a teen and even had a game plan to marry her. “‘I had this plan,’ he told me. ‘I was going to come to New York. I was going to get on the Yankees. Meghan Markle Loses Court Battle
The publisher of Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper can use the contents of a recent behind-the scenes book about Meghan and Harry in its legal defense for an invasion of privacy lawsuit brought by the duchess, a judge ruled Tuesday. Judge Francesca Kaye gave Associated Newspapers Ltd. permission to amend its defense to add “further particulars” relating to the book “Finding Freedom,” which was published last month. Meghan is suing the publisher over five February 2019 articles in the Mail on Sunday and on the MailOnline website that published portions of a handwritten letter she wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, after her marriage to Harry in 2018. Associated Newspapers is contesting the claim in London’s High Court. Its lawyers argue that Meghan made personal information public by cooperating with the authors of the book “in order to set out her own version of events in a way that is favorable to her.” Antony White, a lawyer for Associated Newspapers, said in written court submissions that the book appeared to have been written with Meghan and Harry’s “extensive cooperation.” Meghan’s lawyers deny that she collaborated with the book’s authors, ELLE and Oprah magazine contributor Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie, royal editor for Harper’s Bazaar.

Ferret Invades Bedroom
A ferret that escaped from his owner’s home in England was found early the next morning when he wandered into a stranger’s home and climbed into bed with a resident. Lisa Marie Buckley said her family’s 18-month-old ferret, Thomas, escaped from their home in the village of Ince on Saturday night, leading her to post about the pet’s disappearance on social media. Buckley said neighbors reported sighting Thomas in various locations around the neighborhood overnight before she was contacted by a local man named Patrick Newman the following morning. Newman said he woke to find Thomas had climbed into bed with him. Buckley visited Newman’s house to bring Thomas home. She said Newman quickly grew fond of Thomas and presented Buckley with a sign he made bearing the pet’s name. Buckley said she had Thomas’ microchip checked to make sure she had the right ferret, and had a momentary panic when the chip’s information initially indicated he did not belong to her — but she soon discovered the ferret was indeed Thomas, and the chip was merely out of date.

Pomegranate Company Looking For A Plan!
A California juice company is offering $1 million in funding and development resources for a plan to do something about the 50,000 tons of pomegranate husks the firm disposes of each year. The Wonderful Co., based in Los Angeles, said it is teaming up with food waste nonprofit ReFED to search for a way to use the rind, pith and seeds left over from the juicing process in an environmentally friendly way. The “Wonderful Innovation Challenge” is offering $1 million for the pitch that is ultimately selected. The company said registration for the challenge is open through Dec. 7, and the pitches will then be put through a four-stage review process before the final plan is chosen. “The Wonderful Innovation Challenge was born out of our mission to continually push the boundaries of sustainability by embracing bold, innovative ideas,” said Steve Swartz, vice president of strategy at The Wonderful Co. “This competition will provide a select group of winners the resources they need to grow their business, make a positive impact, and help us fulfill our environmental mission.”

Cursing Parrots Removed From Zoo Display
A British zoo said five parrots were removed from public display after the birds spent their time in quarantine together teaching each other to shout profanities. The Lincolnshire Wildlife Park said the five African grey parrots, named Eric, Jade, Elsie, Tyson and Billy, were given to the facility by five different owners in the same week, so the birds were put into quarantine together before going on display. The time alone gave the parrots time to teach one another their favorite swear words, park officials said. The birds were put on public display, but soon removed when zookeepers discovered the outcome of their time together. “It just went ballistic, they were all swearing,” zoo chief executive Steve Nichols told CNN. “We were a little concerned about the children.” Nichols said zoo officials are hoping keeping the birds separated will give them an opportunity to clean up their language before returning to public display.

Two-Headed Snake
A North Carolina woman said a surprise appearance by a snake inside her home turned out to be doubly surprising when she noticed it has two heads. Jeannie Wilson said she was in the sunroom of her Alexander County home when she spotted a foot-long baby snake slithering around. Wilson said she was shocked to notice the reptile was a two-headed snake. “I called my son-in-law, who wasn’t far away, and he said he’d be back,” Wilson told WSOC-TV. “I’m not crazy, guys. He’s got two heads. When he got there, he said, ‘He does have two heads, don’t he?'” Wilson turned the snake, which she named Double Trouble, over to the Catawba Science Center, which confirmed it was a non-venomous rat snake. The science center said the snake’s two heads are the result of a mutation believed to occur in one out of every 100,000 rat snakes.
