The Emmy Awards are just around the corner, but sad news for “Friends” fans: Jennifer Aniston won’t be in attendance. She confirmed she is skipping out on this year’s Emmys, scheduled for this Sunday, due to her caution surrounding the coronavirus. “No, I will not be going,” Aniston announced on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday. Aniston said she believes Ben Winston, the director and producer of the “Friends” reunion, will be attending on behalf of the cast. “This is a big step for me to just be here,” Aniston continued to Kimmel, adding that she’s been taking “baby steps.” Elsewhere in her chat with the late-night host, Aniston admitted she’s been extra cautious about going out in public. “I’ve been in the house a lot. Taking second place is Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power”, while third on the list is “A Change is Gonna Come” by soul legend Sam Cooke. Rounding out the top five is Nirvana’s classic grunge track, “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Wandering Emu
A Florida sheriff’s office said deputies responded to an “interesting call for service” when an escaped emu wandered into a resident’s yard. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that “dispatch received an interesting call for service” from a resident who spotted a loose emu wandering in their front yard. Patrol deputies responded to the scene and were able to safely wrangle the emu and identify the large Australian bird’s owner. “The emu was transported without incident and reunited with his emu family,” the post said. Squirrel Spotters Wanted
A Scottish conservation charity is calling on residents to act as volunteer “squirrel spotters” for its annual Great Scottish Squirrel Survey. Charity group Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels announced it is marking National Red Squirrel Week Sept. 20-26 by attempting to take a census of the country’s squirrel population with help from members of the public. “We are asking everyone to go out and enjoy the outdoors, look out for both red and gray squirrels and add your sightings to our online map at scottishsquirrels.org.uk,” Gill Hatcher, communications and engagement officer for SSRS, told the Northern Scot newspaper. SSRS, which is partnering with the Scottish Wildlife Trust for the project, said the COVID-19 pandemic prevented researchers from carrying out their usual annual squirrel surveys in the spring of 2020 and 2021.

Ashes Found In Walmart Parking Lot
A Missouri woman who found an urn necklace containing a loved one’s ashes in a Walmart parking lot is trying to find the rightful owner of the precious item. Shelby Scott, of Grain Valley, said she was at the Walmart in Blue Springs on Saturday when she spotted a shiny object on the ground. “It was just a little necklace urn that didn’t have the necklace to it,” Scott told WDAF-TV. Scott said she recognized the item because she has a similar necklace containing her own mother’s ashes. She said she took the item inside the store, where employees told her no one had reported it missing. Scott said she decided to try finding the owner on Facebook. “I really want to get it to the people that it belongs to,” Scott said. Scott said she knows how the owner likely feels. She said she once lost her urn necklace for two days before it turned up in the driveway of her home.

Giant Jack Nicklaus Corn Maze
An Ohio corn maze is paying tribute to one of the state’s most famous denizens by putting the giant image of golfer Jack Nicklaus in the middle. Maize at Little Darby Creek in Union County said the corn maze tribute to the 81-year-old champion golfer known as “The Golden Bear” features more than 2 miles of twists and turns, with 85 decision points inside the massive puzzle. The creators of the maze said it takes an average of one hour to solve, with the main path alone taking under 30 minutes to walk. The maze opens to the public Saturday. See the pic HERE.

Signs Your Boss Might Be A Narcissist (And How To Deal With It)

- They believe you’re either with them or against them.
Narcissistic bosses think in absolutes ― you’re either an ally or an enemy, there is no in between.
“You’re either an ally and if you betray them… you move to the enemy camp,” Germain said. “The day you move into the enemy camp, they will do everything to eliminate you from their entourage. They will fire you, they will demote you.”
They may initially charm you but then will trap you if you challenge them.
Germain said that often at the start of a working relationship, narcissistic bosses can attract employees with their charisma, making you feel like “you’re the center of the world” through their generosity.
But their mood can quickly sour if they perceive that you are challenging their worldview or calling them out on their bad behavior. At worst, they can isolate you or make you dependent on them for a job or a work visa sometimes, Germain said.
“The manipulation is part of the way they operate to continue having that power, status and admiration from the public,” Germain said.
They won’t admit they are wrong.
Narcissistic bosses deny accountability at all costs and are emotionally unable to accept defeat or criticism. “Because they are perfect, admission of error is impossible. That would shatter their self-esteem. Which, by the way, they have very little of,” Germain said.
You can see this as a boss blames employees for the boss’s error while denying that they had any role. In fact, when confronted, these bosses can turn the tables and play the victim, making you feel like the error was all your fault.
“They will call you a liar, they will say you have a mental problem, you’re faulty ― not them,” Germain said. “They transpose their mistakes onto others.”
They steal your ideas.
Germain said narcissistic bosses are “great thieves of ideas.” Because they believe they are perfect and are driven to maintain that unassailable self-image, they often feel entitled to take employees’ good ideas and pass them off as their own without worrying about morality. To them, that’s simply what it takes to stay on top of their business.
“If they are vice president of a company, there is an expectation that they do stellar work and so it doesn’t matter if they have to steal the ideas from someone else. They want to keep that status of being smart, of being the best employee they can be,” Germain said.
- They ask for favors they won’t return.
If you expect a give-and-take relationship with this boss, think again.
These bosses will ask for favors and never return them because “they feel they are entitled to, they’re the boss,” said Nina W. Brown, a counseling and human services professor at Old Dominion University and author of “Working With the Self-Absorbed: How to Handle Narcissistic Personalities on the Job.”
- They demonstrate a noticeable lack of empathy and can be verbally abusive.
There is no room for error with a narcissistic boss who doesn’t have the empathy to put themselves in your shoes.
“You try to explain why you were late with something or made a mistake, and the response that you get is, ‘Too bad.’ You just need to do better,” Brown said. “No understanding whatsoever of what may be going on that would have produced that outcome.”
Germain noted that an overt sign of this narcissism can show up in how these bosses verbally abuse employees by insulting their “physical appearance, or an emotional state or even an IQ, like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re so weak.’”
