Biggie’s Crown Sells Big
Sotheby’s inaugural hip-hop auction, which featured the late Notorious B.I.G’s crown, achieved $2 million in sales with 91% of all lots sold. The auction took place Tuesday at Sotheby’s New York and attracted more than 400 registered bidders from 19 countries. More than 25% of the bidders were new to Sotheby’s. The Notorious B.I.G’s crown, which he wore during his K.O.N.Y. (King of New York) photoshoot session with photographer Barron Claiborne in 1997, led all items and sold for $594,750. A sealed, 12-inch single of Rammellzee vs. K-Rob’s Beat Bop from 1983 featuring original artwork by Jean-Michel Basquiat, sold for $126,000. The item is considered the holy grail of hip-hop records and exceeded its estimate by more than 50 times. An art installation featuring 32 extremely rare and vintage boomboxes from the early 1980s and 1990s sold for $113,400. Roc Nation DJ Ross One created the item which wires the boomboxes together to function as a singular sound system. A collection of high school love letters written by the late Tupac Shakur when he was 16-years-old sold for $75,600. The collection, which includes a total 42 pages on 24 sheets of paper and one greeting card. Shakur wrote the letters for his high school sweetheart Kathy Loy.

Madonna will direct and co-write a movie about her own life for Universal. Oscar-winning “Juno” writer Diablo Cody will write alongside her. “I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world,” Madonna said in a statement. “The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.” No title was announced, but The Hollywood Reporter claims that Madonna once referred to the project as “Live to Tell,” which is also the title of one of her songs.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Sacha Baron Cohen, and dozens of other celebrities joined the Stop Hate For Profit initiative and froze their Instagram and Facebook accounts for 24 hours in order to hold Mark Zuckerberg’s tech company accountable. “I love that I can connect directly with you through Instagram and Facebook, but I can’t sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation – created by groups to sow division and split America apart – only to take steps after people are killed,” Kardashian, who has 188 million followers on Instagram, wrote in a post on Tuesday evening. “Misinformation shared on social media has a serious impact on our elections and undermines our democracy. Samuel L. Jackson is offering to teach an epic, multi-language course on the art of cursing if enough people double-check that they’re registered to vote. “Listen up — if 2,500 of you click a voting action below to make sure you’re #GoodToVote, I will teach you to swear in 15 different languages,” Jackson tweeted Monday along with a clip of him in a sweatshirt and baseball cap while seated in an expensive-looking armchair. The tweet also includes a link to his page on voter registration website HeadCount, which includes a sultry-looking photo of Jackson along with patriotically colored buttons offering Americans the ability to register to vote, check their registration status and “make your vote plan.” He is well-known for being among the Hollywood actors with the most prolifically dirty onscreen mouths — although a survey conducted earlier this year found that “The Wolf of Wall Street” star Jonah Hill beat Jackson for the top slot. Monkey Takes Selfies With Lost Phone
A Malaysia resident whose phone temporarily went missing said the device turned up in his yard loaded with new photos — including some selfies snapped by a monkey. Zackrydz Rodzi said he believes a monkey came into his house while he was asleep and took his phone outside, where the primate apparently played with the device and inadvertently snapped some selfie photos and videos. One video appears to show the monkey attempting to put the phone into its mouth. “Something that you might see once in a century,” Rodzi tweeted. See the pics HERE.

A listing for a condo in Florida is going viral after pictures were posted online showing off an unusual aspect of the decor — the walls and ceilings of the home are covered in Budweiser beer cans. Realtor Kristen Kearney said she initially didn’t know what to expect when she received a call about listing the Lake Worth condo. “They warned me that the home was wallpapered in beer cans,” Kearney told Realtor.com. “And I thought to myself, ‘Well, I wonder where in the world they found beer-can wallpaper.'” The reality of the home turned out to be far stranger — the “wallpaper” was actual beer cans. Kearney said the cans cover every wall and ceiling of the home, except for the bathroom. “If you look closely at the photos, you can really see the lengths the owner went to,” Kearney said. “He even created a crown molding look with the cans.” Kearney said the condo’s former owner, who is now deceased, was a lifelong fan of the Anheuser-Busch beer. “It was his life’s mission to wallpaper his home in beer cans,” Kearney said, “and he did it.” Kearney said the condo was originally listed for $110,000 in August, but the price was reduced to $100,000 in September. She said the price reduction, as well as the viral photos, resulted in a flood of interest in the property.

Suspect Leaves Winning Lottery Ticket
Police in Georgia said a suspect who fled on foot from a traffic stop left behind a valuable piece of personal property: a winning lottery ticket. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies attempted a traffic stop Monday morning in Canton, but the unidentified suspect abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies investigated the vehicle and discovered a winning scratch-off lottery ticket worth $100. The sheriff’s office posted a photo of the ticket on Facebook. “To the suspect who ran on foot from our deputies on a traffic stop this morning on I-75, you left a winning $100 lottery ticket in your vehicle,” the post said. “You can claim your ticket at 498 Chattin Dr. in Canton. It will be here waiting for you. Congratulations by the way.”

Girl Writes With Both Hands!
A 16-year-old girl in India is seeking Guinness World Records recognition for her latest accomplishment: writing 45 words in 1 minute by using both hands at the same time. Aadi Swaroopa, 16, of Mangalore, was recognized as a record holder by the nonprofit school administration organization LATA Foundation of Raibareli, Uttar Pradesh, after showing off her ability to write with both hands at the same time. Swaroopa managed 40 words in 1 minute, besting the Lata Foundation’s previously chronicled record of 25 words. The girl’s parents said they are now trying to get her accomplishment into the Guinness Book of World Records. Her father said he first noticed his daughter was ambidextrous when she was only 2 years old. He said he believes she can get up to 60 words per minute with enough practice. See the video HERE.
