Eddie Murphy Signs Amazon Deal
Eddie Murphy has signed a new film deal with Amazon Studios. Deadline reported Wednesday that he signed a three-picture and first-look deal that will see him star in three films for Amazon Studios and develop new original films with the potential to star. “Eddie is a legend both in front of and behind the camera,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said in a statement. “With undeniable comedic and dramatic genius, he consistently delivers entertaining, original stories and characters to audiences around the world. We could not be more excited to help carry on the tradition and to officially welcome Eddie into the Amazon family.” News of the deal follows the release of Murphy’s film Coming 2 America, a sequel to his 1988 film Coming to America, on Amazon Prime Video. The movie was the most-watched film on Amazon Prime in its opening weekend in March.

Prince Andrew has officially been served with legal documents in a civil assault case launched against him in New York by accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre. Her attorney provided photos of Fed Ex receipts confirming the delivery of the lawsuit to the Duke of York’s attorney, Andrew B. Brettler, of the law firm Lavely and Singer. “Pursuant to the Court’s order, on September 17, 2021, Plaintiff’s counsel retrieved two executed Requests for Service Abroad of Judicial Documents from the Court. Plaintiff’s counsel then caused the Requests to be delivered to the designated Central Authority of the United Kingdom on the Court’s behalf by FedEx, along with two requests of the Complaint, Summons, and Civil Cover Sheet in this matter,” a court document filed Monday by Virgina Giuffre’s lawyer states in the filing. The court papers state Giuffre’s legal team sent the summons and complaint to Brettler at his Los Angeles office and also “emailed” the documents, per the court’s order approving alternative service.

Nicole Richie’s turned 40 on Tuesday and a clip she shared on Instagram of her celebration shows the star’s hair catching fire while she blew out her birthday candles. In the short video, Richie leans over a cake adorably decorated with a childhood photo of her on it when the ends of her hair go up in flames. Richie and other attendees can he heard yelling in the video as the flames get close to her head. Thanks to Richie’s head movement and some pats from her and a pal, the flames quickly went away. Fortunately, Richie appeared to be ok and made a joke out of the situation by captioning the video: “well…so far 40 is [fire emoji].” Richie’s post quickly garnered reactions from her famous friends who couldn’t believe the spectacle and also offered positive birthday wishes. “HBD!!! Bachelor In Paradise Evacuates Set
The cast of “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 7 was forced to evacuate when a tropical storm pummeled their filming location in Mexico earlier this summer. In Tuesday’s episode of the ABC spinoff, cast members were seen packing up and leaving the set at the Playa Escondida resort in the oceanside village of Sayulita as production was temporarily halted over the storm. “I know you guys are all expecting there to be a cocktail party and a rose ceremony tonight. Unfortunately, that will not be happening,” a producer informed the cast. “There’s a dangerous tropical storm rapidly approaching, and as of an hour ago, it’s heading straight for us.” The producer added, “For the safety for all of you guys, our staff and our crew, we are recommending that we evacuate immediately.” Producers were then seen covering the set with tarps and stacking up furniture as the cast piled into vans to make their escape. The beach, which sits on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, was hit hard by the storm, but fortunately, it appeared there was no serious damage. Cast members returned the next morning to their regularly scheduled activities — in this case, a daytime cocktail party.

Britney Wants Conservatorship Gone Fast!
Britney Spears and her lawyer, Matt Rosengart, just filed documents setting the stage to end the conservatorship this Fall. Rosengart just filed legal docs in which he agrees with Jamie Spears on one point — the conservatorship no longer serves a legitimate purpose and should end immediately. Furthermore, Rosengart agrees with Jamie that the conservatorship should be terminated without any further medical evaluation … something Britney expressed to the judge back in June. He says there have been changed circumstances that warrant the end of the conservatorship … namely the judge already allowed Britney to select her own lawyer … the point being she has the “capacity and capability to identify, engage, and instruct counsel of her own choice.” In the docs, Rosengart quotes Jamie’s document , “If Ms. Spears wants to terminate the conservatorship and believes that she can handle her own life, Mr. Spears believes that she should get that chance.” Britney is asking that a “termination plan” be formulated immediately so the conservatorship could wind down in its entirety.

Monkey Loose In Indiana!
A rumored monkey spotted in an Indiana city was confirmed to exist when it was caught on video in a hotel parking lot. Bloomington Animal Care and Control said the first monkey sighting was reported Sept. 8, when several people reported seeing a man riding a scooter with a monkey on his back. Reports of the sighting also were posted to social media by witnesses, but no photos or videos emerged. More reports were received the following day when a man was reported to be spotted with an untethered monkey wandering in Bryan Park. Animal control was unable to verify the sightings, but Fort Wayne resident Kinta Dowdell captured video after he spotted the monkey wandering loose in the parking lot of the TownePlace Suites by Marriott. Dowdell said the monkey was on the loose in the parking lot for a short time while a young man and woman worked to wrangle it into a cage. “It was just running around loose,” Dowdell told The Herald-Times newspaper. “The monkey was obviously doing whatever it wanted to do.”

Largest Dog Wedding Attempt
Organizers of a world record attempt in Chicago said they are hoping to gather more than 178 canine couples to break the record for the world’s largest dog wedding ceremony. Leslie Allison-Seei, chair of the Villa Park Community Focus on Unifying Neighbors Commission, or F.U.N., said she previously participated in a November 2008 attempt at the record in Oak Park, Ill. The attempt featured 87 canine couples, falling short of the record-setting number of 178, which was set in Littleton, Colo., in 2007. Allison-Seei said she wants to see Illinois take the record Saturday at Lions Park in the town of Villa Park. Villa Park Village President Nick Cuzzone is slated to officiate at the dog wedding ceremony, which Allison-Seei said will include canines from across the Chicago metropolitan area.

Escaped Cat Found On JFK Tarmac
A cat that escaped from a carrier while being loaded onto an Italy-bound flight was captured safely after three weeks of wandering around the tarmac at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. John Debacker, vice president of nonprofit animal rescue group Long Island Cat Kitten Solution, said Salvatore Fazio, a man who lives part-time in Mastic Beach, arrived in Italy to find his cat, Ettore, had escaped from his carrier before being loaded into the plane. Debacker said it was difficult to get permission to search for Ettore on the runway area. “It was quite difficult to get clearance. My friend Teddy Henn and I were hanging flyers in the terminal when a Port Authority worker noticed a collar found near the runway’s edge by the water matched the flyer description,” Debacker told Patch. Debecker said he set up an overnight camera that managed to capture a glimpse of the wandering feline on the first night, allowing him to set a humane trap that managed to ensnare Ettore about 1 a.m. “The owner was very happy,” Debacker said.

As usual, I purchased an entry for my mum last week. However, I wasn’t contemplating purchasing an entry for myself,” the player said. “When I scanned my last entry at the outlet, they gave me a bonus ticket that I’d won.” The free ticket earned the woman a $72,300.50 jackpot. The winner said she plans to use her winnings to take care of her family.
