Dax Shepard Performs Self-Surgery

After recently injuring his arm, Dax Shepard chose to remove pins from his hand while his wife, Kristen Bell, recorded the ordeal.  Bell shared the video to Instagram.  In the clip, Shepard apparently was on the phone with his doctor as he reached into his cast and removed a clean pin.  “Alright, I’m going to commence the procedure,” Shepard said in the video. “Oh, yep, that feels weird.”  Shepard then removed the full pin from his hand as he cheered and Bell gasped.  “It’s out,” he told the doctor. “It’s out, there’s no blood spurting anywhere. I’m coming for your job, doctor. I’m going to add pin removal to my resume now.”  As Shepard said, there was no blood from removing the pin, which came out quickly, easily and cleanly.  “Am I the worst patient you’ve ever had?” the actor joked. “I’m texting you nonstop, now I’m pulling pins out you put in.”  Bell shared the video on Friday, writing, “We’re on day ‘I can do my own surgery’ of quarantine,” in the caption.  See the video HERE.
******Next, he’ll give himself an “add-a-dick-to-me!!”
******Did he also give himself some homemade plastic surgery? Because we’ve seen his face!!
*******Kristen liked it so much, they “played doctor” later on!!

Fans Want Celebrity Zoom Bombs

Forget the autograph…. The ultimate fan trophy is getting celebrities to drop in on their Zoom happy hours.  Insiders say that stars are being inundated with requests from quarantined admirers who want them to surprise their friends.  Some stars have agreed to make a quick appearance.  Both Shaquille O’Neal and David Spade have been hounded to make digital drop-ins.  It’s become such a trend that industrious insiders have been considering setting up a service like Cameo — where stars are paid to send video messages — for wrangling celebs for Zoom calls.
********Hey… Joe Exotic could do that from prison!! Big bucks!!
******What happened to Bill Murray?? He used to do stuff like this all the time!!
TOPIC: Which celeb would you want on YOUR Zoom happy hour??

Did Mike Tyson Get His Tigers From Joe Exotic?

Mike Tyson says the three tigers he owned in the 1990s might have come from “Tiger King” Joe Exotic.  He was one of the 64 million viewers who watched the Netflix docuseries about Joe Exotic. Tyson told the Daily Mail there is a possibility that his tigers — Kenya, Storm and Boris — whom he bought after he came out of jail in the early 1990s — came from Exotic.  “It could have been, maybe where I got my cats could have got their cats from Joe. But I don’t know,” Tyson told the paper. “If you are in the exotic animal world, you are aware of him.”  But whether or not Exotic sold him his cats, Tyson is still a fan, telling the paper “People always say these people are scumbags. But these are amazing people with what they can do with their ingenious minds and control over other people’s minds. These guys are born leaders.”  Tyson lost his tigers along with his fortune in the late 1990s and has since expressed regret over his ‘foolish’ decision to own tigers — telling Fat Joe in an Instagram Live, “I was foolish. There’s no way you can domesticate these cats 100 percent … There’s no way that’s going to happen. They’ll kill you by accident, especially when you’re playing rough with them, you’re punching them back. They get hyped up, hit you back and you’re dead.”  “I’m just happy I educated myself. I was doing the wrong s–t. I shouldn’t have had them in my house, believing they were domesticated. I was wrong.”
******Mike is boring now that he’s good!!
*****We liked him better with his tiger in “The Hangover!!”
******We know Mike’s history.. owning tigers is the least of his problems!!

Dolly Parton Produced Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Dolly Parton had a producer side gig that brought late ’90s teen sci-fi series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” to television.  Parton is not credited as a producer on the show itself (nor is it confirmed that she’s even seen it), a production company she co-created and oversaw brought the show to the WB in 1997.  The show credits Sandollar Entertainment, which Parton co-founded with the late Sandy Gallin in 1986. Together they produced classic family films such as “Father of the Bride” (1991) and “Fly Away Home” (1996). More recently, they brought the country queen’s 2019 series “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings” to Netflix.  “I was today years old when I found out that Dolly Parton was an uncredited executive producer on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’” one shocked fan posted on Twitter.  “What? WHAT?????????????????????????????????” another chimed in.  And one tweeter summed up the general response by posting, “How could I possibly think more highly of this woman?!,” complete with a “mind blown” emoji.
********Next we’ll find out that Carrie Underwood produced the “Saw” movies!!

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Using Their Blood To Fight Coronavirus

Two of the world’s most famous Covid-19 patients are willing to share their blood to help in the fight against the disease.  Tom Hanks said on a recent podcast of NPR’s “Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me!” that he and his wife, actress/singer Rita Wilson, want to donate their blood to research because their blood now carries coronavirus antibodies.  “We have not only been approached, we have said, ‘Do you want our blood? Can we give plasma?’ ” Hanks said during the podcast. “And in fact, we will be giving it now to the places that hope to work on what I would like to call the ‘Hank-ccine,’ ”  Hanks said he and Wilson are feeling “just fine and dandy.” They spent their time being sick in quarantine in Australia, where he had been filming a movie and she gave performances in support of her album. They’re back home now.  Hanks joked that he’s prepared to be generous with the “Hank-ccine.”  “I’m not trying to hog it with a copyright,” he said,
******His agent said, “Not so fast!! You don’t give ANYTHING away!!”
*******So… the latest from the scientific pinheads is that the antibody treatment WON’T work. So keep your damned blood!!
STAY TUNED, because the “science” could change again tomorrow!!

The Queen’s Morning Bath Routine

When Queen Elizabeth wakes up at Buckingham Palace, she starts her day a little different than us. She has the privilege to employ a personal bagpiper as well as a an employee to monitor and measure their bath. She enjoys her morning bath at a precise temperature and depth, and that’s exactly what she gets. Her Majesty rarely stays up past 11 p.m., she enjoys reading in bed, and she rises at around 7:30 every morning. At precisely 7:30, the queen’s royal staffer knocks softly and enters her bedroom bearing a silver tray upon which are a pot of the Queen’s favorite Earl Grey morning tea, a bone china teacup and saucer, a couple of biscuits, and a linen napkin. While Elizabeth sips her tea, nibbles biscuits, and listens to BBC news on the radio, her staffer prepares a bath.  She prefers to bathe at 8 o’clock sharp, and her bath must be just so, royal correspondent, Brian Hoey, told the Daily Mail. To ensure an ideal bathing experience every morning, a royal staff member is employed to test the temperature — never too hot, never too cold — with a wooden encased thermometer, reports Marie Claire magazine.  Additionally, the depth of the water must never exceed seven inches, and yes, there is a royal staff member who attends to that, as well.  By 8:30, Queen Elizabeth is dressed, groomed, and ready to enjoy a light breakfast and the morning newspaper with her husband. Usually, she will tuck into a bowl of Special K, corn flakes, or Weetabix cereal with sliced fresh fruit and milk.  At nine o’clock, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are treated to a private 15-minute serenade performed by the official Piper to the Sovereign, Richard Grisdale.
******Wow. Living large!!
******Being 94 and 98 comes in handy when the bagpiper starts playing!! They can’t hear a damn thing!!
*******Right after the bagpipe serenade, she has a few people beheaded!!!

Cameron Diaz Hints A Return To Acting

Cameron Diaz may return the big screen someday after all.  She last appeared in the 2014 remake of “Annie,” in which she played Miss Hannigan, and she’s since explained why she turned away from the spotlight.  Now a married woman and a mother, she recently spoke with Gucci Westman about her life, career and whether she’d ever return to the silver screen.  “Obviously, everybody wants you to go back to acting,” Westman said.  “Look, I’m never going to say ‘never,'” she admitted. “I’m not a person who says ‘never’ about anything, clearly.” Westman called Diaz’s comments “encouraging” and told her that “people love watching” her onscreen.  Diaz previously spoke to InStyle magazine about her choice to retire from acting.  “I started [experiencing fame] when I was 22, so 25 years ago — that’s a long time,” the actress said. “The way I look at it is that I’ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it’s OK for me to take time for myself now to reorganize and choose how I want to come [back] into the world, if I decide to. I don’t miss performing.”  Diaz first burst onto the Hollywood scene when she starred in 1994’s “The Mask” opposite Jim Carrey.
*******She’s thinking of acting? Why start now??
*******Someday, she’ll walk into a store and no one will recognize her!! THAT’S when she’ll start working again!!!

Bear Breaks Into Truck Looking For Food

Wildlife officials in Colorado shared a photo showing the aftermath of a bear breaking into an apparently unlocked pickup truck.  Colorado Parks and Wildlife said in a Twitter post the bear managed to force its way into the vehicle Tuesday night in Estes Park.  The extent of the damage to the truck’s interior was unclear.  “Be sure to keep car doors and windows closed and locked if you park outside. Make sure there’s nothing with an odor in your vehicle, including candy, gum, air fresheners, trash, sunscreen, lotions and lip balms,” CPW said.

A Nigerian hospital announced a 68-year-old woman has given birth to twins after three previous IVF procedures were unsuccessful.  The Lagos University Teaching Hospital announced Margaret Adenuga gave birth to a boy and a girl via caesarian section after 37 weeks of pregnancy.  The hospital said the babies were delivered April 14, but officials waited to announce the news to give the mother and newborns time to recuperate.  Adenuga’s husband, Noah, 77, said the couple married in 1974 and have long aspired to have children, but three previous rounds of IVF treatments were unsuccessful.  “As an elderly woman and a first-time mother, it was a high-risk pregnancy and also because she was going to have twins but we were able to manage her pregnancy to term,” Okunowo said. A 73-year-old Indian woman who gave birth to twin girls in 2019 is believed to be the oldest person to carry a child to term.

Worker Runs Marathon In Hotel Hallway

A British hotel worker is seeking Guinness World Records recognition after she ran the length of a full marathon through the halls of the closed business.  Louise Casey said the Premier Inn Warrington Central North in Warrington, England, has been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but she and a handful of other staff have still been coming in each night to maintain the facility.  Casey, a member of the Widnes Running Club, decided to run a marathon inside the hotel. She said it took her more than 300 laps to reach the 26.2-mile length of a full marathon, and she finished her run with a time of 4 hours, 37 minutes.  “Because of the virus, a lot of people in the club are running around in circles in their gardens,” Casey told the Warrington Guardian. “I thought to myself, I might try to run a marathon indoors at work.”  “We’re closed at the minute, but six of us are doing night shifts to man the building,” she said. “Instead of sitting there all night twiddling my thumbs, I ran a marathon. After that, I went and got showered, put my uniform on and carried on with the night shift.”  Casey, whose run raised nearly $1,900 for the National Health Service and Great Ormond Street Hospital, said she is seeking a Guinness World Record for her accomplishment.

A LIST FOR TUESDAY

The Best Ways To Support Beauty Professionals Right Now

Huffington Post

Makeup Artists

Update your makeup artist ASAP when your wedding date changes, and pay in advance if you can.

“Right now, clients can help me the most by keeping me super in the loop and informed on the status of their wedding date, all the way into autumn. If they asked their venue for some new date options, I want to know right away, because so many brides are reaching out at the same time. My office manager and I are handling every wedding on a case-by-case basis and being super flexible with policies for everyone, because this situation can be so unsure.

“Another great way to support any vendor is asking if you can pay any fees early, or pay any outstanding balance you may have. Suggesting your favorite makeup artist to any of your friends getting married is also a huge help for 2021/22 weddings.” ― Emily Dimant, freelance makeup artist, Pennsylvania

Leave positive online reviews.

“Leaving service reviews online on pages such as Google, Facebook, booking apps and other online providers are ways clients can help beauty professionals at this time. This is always helpful as reviews tend to be one of the first places new clients look for trust in a new artist and this encourages people to book in the future when we do reopen for business. Resharing social media posts and content with friends and family to show support and loyalty to an artist [also] means a lot and generates new clients, as well.” ― Tabby Castro, freelance makeup artist and manicurist, London

Nail Professionals

Purchase gift cards, and reach out for help when you attempt to DIY.

“Purchasing gift cards is always a great way to give back! You can help your favorite business and look forward to treating yourself or a loved one later on. Another great way is sending a Venmo tip to your favorite technician as a small gesture of kindness.

“Whether it’s ingrown nails, calluses or something as simple as gel polish removal, there is always the right way to do things yourself. So don’t be afraid to reach out to a professional for advice on DIY beauty projects to help out during these stressful times.” ― Marcela Correa, medical nail technician and owner of Medi Pedi NYC, New York City

Lash Professionals

Don’t push your lash professional to give you an at-home appointment.

“For the sake of our clients and our artists, we cannot risk one-on-one or at-home appointments. Whether it’s your eyelashes, hair or nails, everyone should take this time to let them breathe. I advise my clients to gently massage castor oil on their lashes in the meantime.

“For those that have remaining lashes extensions (stragglers) left, please do not pull on them. I know that some of them don’t have the patience and will start to play with them, but that will damage your lashes. Since we can’t professionally remove them, apply an oil-based eye makeup remover on a cotton pad, and press gently onto your eyes. Leave it on for a few seconds and repeat this step for the rest of the eyes. You can start from the middle, front or outer corner of your eye, whatever you are comfortable with. The key is not to wipe or rub the cotton pad, because it will take a toll on the lashes. Follow with a gentle lather (with warm water) to remove any excess oil/residue left over. Repeat this step daily until the lash extensions fall off naturally on its own.” ― Jessica Shin, makeup artist and owner of Flair Eyelashes, Inc., New York City

Hairstylists

Pay for your missed appointments and purchase gift cards for the future.

“Our loyal clients have reached out offering help in so many ways. Those who have been minimally affected by the pandemic financially have paid for their missed appointments just because. It’s been humbling. Others have purchased gift cards for future visits and some have shared all our promotions and posts on social media.” ― Heather Mercuri, stylist and owner at GLAM on the Go LLC, Ohio

Brow Artists

Reach out and ask!

“Reaching out and asking about ways to support never hurts. It’s hopeful just to hear a hello from you, and let your artist know that as soon as things open, you will be back. But don’t pressure your artist to book you an appointment just yet. We are all looking forward to some beauty upkeep, but at a time like this, no one should feel like they need to risk their health and yours.” ― Jas Imani, lash and brow artist, New York City

Purchase a large series of services for the future, and buy gift cards for friends.

“Purchase a service you know you will have in the coming weeks, or even a series of services based on what you normally use. I had a client just send me a Venmo for ‘future brows’ and she included a tip. I was so touched, and there are no words to describe how it feels when your people step up for you when you become unexpectedly unemployed.

“Really, a gift card for someone else is a bigger help ― you already have your client, but if they can treat someone to your service after all of this, that actually helps you get a new client.” ― Suzie Moldavon, makeup artist and owner of Flybrow, California

Estheticians

Stay in touch.

“The most important thing a client can do right now for their established esthetician is to stay in contact. There are so many ways to have virtual check-ins, via FaceTime, Zoom and Skype. Virtual consultations can take as little as 10 minutes, and the esthetician can then recommend a course of action, including providing instruction on how to perform at-home treatments, use tools and devices, and recommend products.” ― Lydia Sarfati, master esthetician, CEO and founder of Repêchage, New York City

Practice good self-care right now, but DON’T do at-home extractions.

As a holistic esthetician, my sole purpose is to support my guests’ skin and sense of wellness. Because they aren’t able to receive their regular holistic skin treatments right now, by prioritizing and incorporating intentional moments of self-care (like their gua sha ritual or dry brushing) along with a topical skin care routine (such as oil cleansing or multi-masking) at home, especially in seasons of stress, they can still powerfully help to support their personal well-being — and my mission as a holistic esthetician.

“I can’t encourage you enough to let any breakouts run their course and allow the skin to do its healing work, naturally. It’s better to have a temporary breakout or blackhead than to create trauma to the skin and potential long-term scarring by trying your own extractions at home.” ― Courtney O’Connor, licensed holistic esthetician at Primally Pure, California

Follow your esthetician on social media.

“A simple way you can show support to your local esthetician is by giving her a quick follow on her social media platform. Request a virtual consultation and purchase products she has recommended for you, rather than purchasing them from a big-box store. Your esthetician is taking the time out of her day to listen to your needs and working hard for you and making sure the products she researches will best benefit your skin. Supporting your local esthetician will mean the world to her/him!” ― Melissa Imperial, licensed esthetician, California

Med Spa Professionals (laser treatments, fillers, etc.)

Purchase items from the spa’s online shop.

“Clients can help our business by purchasing their skin care regimens off of our online store. They can also plan their future visits by purchasing gift cards.” ― Jessica Wright, owner and operator of Rejuvenate Med Spa, Texas
