Baby Schwarzenegger Born
Katherine Schwarzenegger welcomed her first child with her husband, Chris Pratt. Her brother, actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, also confirmed the baby’s birth in a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight on Sunday. Patrick Schwarzenegger was leaving a market in Santa Barbara, Calif. “They’re doing great — just got her a little gift,” he said while showing a package wrapped with a pink ribbon. A source told ET that Pratt’s car was spotted Friday at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. Schwarzenegger’s parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, were later seen visiting the couple’s home. Pratt also has a 7-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-wife, Anna Faris. Schwarzenegger and Pratt married in June 2019, and news broke in April that the couple were expecting.

Rachael Ray’s Home Catches Fire
Rachael Ray took to Twitter to thank first responders for battling the blaze at her upstate New York home on Sunday. She not only let her followers know that she and her family are OK, but also thanked those who came to combat the fire. “Thank you to our local first responders for being kind and gracious and saving what they could of our home. Grateful that my mom, my husband, my dog… we’re all okay. These are the days we all have to be grateful for what we have, not what we’ve lost,” she wrote. “…I *did* lose my phone (posting through a team member) Thank you for all the well wishes, concern and outreach, but can’t return texts and calls at the moment…!” Flames started shooting through the roof of her Lake Luzerne home on Sunday night. The family was home when the fire broke out. At the time, a spokesperson told the outlet that there were no injuries despite some of the dramatic images coming through from local outlets. The cause of the fire is being investigated by authorities.

Simon Cowell Thanks Well Wishers
Simon Cowell thanked fans for their support and the medical staff who cared for him on Twitter after the music producer underwent surgery following a bike accident. He injured his back after testing out a new electric bike at his home in Malibu, Calif., with his family. “Some good advice…If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time. I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages,” Cowell tweeted on Sunday. “And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone. Simon,” he says. NBC has said that Cowell will not appear in the first two live episodes of America’s Got Talent Season 16, which are airing tonight and tomorrow (Wednesday).

Antonio Banderas Catches The COVID
Antonio Banderas has tested positive for COVID-19, he revealed in a tweet on Monday. He captioned a lengthy note to his fans, “Quiero contaros lo siguiente…,” which translates in English to, “I want to tell you all the following …” In the note written in Spanish, he shared that he is in quarantine because he tested positive for coronavirus. He also said, “I would like to add that I find myself relatively well, only a bit more tired than usual and confident that I will recuperate as soon as possible by following the medical instructions that I hope will help me overcome the infectious process that I am suffering and that has affected so many others around the planet.” Banderas concluded by sharing that he plans to spend his downtime during quarantine reading, writing, resting and continuing to make plans to give “significance” to his newly entered 60th year of life, which are filled with “desires” and “illusions.”

Months after stepping down as working members of the royal family, both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s @SussexRoyal Instagram page and Prince Andrew’s Twitter and Instagram pages were removed from royal.uk, the family’s official website, earlier this month. Visitors to the website now see just three social media links for both Twitter and Instagram available: @TheRoyalFamily, which follows Queen Elizabeth and many other royals, @ClarenceHouse, the office of Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and @KensingtonRoyal, the office of Kate Middleton and Prince William. Meghan, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew still have active bio pages on the royal family’s website highlighting their key causes.

Hendrix Guitar Sells Big
A guitar that Jimi Hendrix played in the early Sixties sold at auction Saturday for $216,000, nearly four times its pre-auction estimate. According to GWS Auctions, Hendrix began playing the Japanese sunburst electric guitar after he was discharged from the U.S. Army in 1962. “After leaving Fort Campbell Jimi moved to Clarksville, Tennessee for a short time where he played on the Chitlin’ Circuit with the likes of Wilson Pickett, Slim Harpo, Sam Cooke, Ike and Tina Turner and Jackie Wilson before moving to Harlem, New York in early 1964 where he stayed until late 1966 playing venues such as Cafe Wha and the Cheetah Club,” the auction house stated. Hendrix remained in possession of the guitar through his brief tenure with the Isley Brothers and his own Jimmy James and the Blue Flames. However, when Hendrix departed for the U.K. to start his Experience, the guitar was left in New York at the apartment of his friend Mike Quashie, who provided a notarized letter of provenance for the instrument prior to his own death. “This particular guitar sheds light on some of the earliest playing by Jimi Hendrix and is unprecedented as it relates to its historical value. Never before have we acquired a guitar of this magnitude partnered with particularly thorough provenance and value,” Dame Brigitte Kruse of GWS Auctions said in a statement. The guitar had a pre-auction estimate of $50,000, and reached a high bid of $180,000; when factoring in fees, the total winning bid was $216,000.

Woman Finds Python In Wash Machine
A Florida woman said she screamed in shock when a mysterious object inside her washing machine turned out to be a python. Emily Visnic, who recently moved from Connecticut to a West Palm Beach apartment, said she has her own laundry room in the residence and has no idea how a snake managed to get inside the appliance. “I looked down and I saw something snakeskin and I was like, ‘Huh. What did I put in here that was snakeskin?’ And I reached down and it started slithering and oh my gosh. I screamed so loud. It was a huge python,” Visnic told WPEC-TV. Visnic said animal control officers told her the snake appeared to large to have traveled through the building’s pipes. The officer said a neighbor in the same building had previously reported hearing what sounded like a snake traveling through the ventilation system.

Chimpanzees Tranquilized
Police in Missouri said two chimpanzees were tranquilized and captured after escaping from a sanctuary in Jefferson County. Grant Bissell, a spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded with assistance from workers from the Critter Lane Petting Zoo in Valles Mines when the chimps escaped from the Missouri Primate Foundation, south of Festus, early Sunday afternoon. The male chimp was tranquilized on a property near the sanctuary about 2:30 p.m. and the female chimp was captured about 3:45 p.m. The primates were examined by a veterinarian after being recaptured to ensure they were free of injuries. Bissell said the chimps are believed to have escaped their enclosure due to an unsecured lock. A woman at the sanctuary sustained minor injuries in the escape, but declined medical treatment.

SOS Really Does Work!
Three stranded mariners were rescued from a remote island in Micronesia on Monday after search crews spotted their “SOS” message written in the sand. The three-person crew of a skiff had not been heard from since July 29, and were reported missing on July 31. The mariners were reportedly sailing a 23 nautical-mile journey from Pulawat to Pulap atolls in the Federated States of Micronesia, in the western Pacific, when they sailed off course and ran out of fuel. Australian and U.S. military aircraft located the castaways on the beach of Pikelot Island on Aug. 1, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. “We were toward the end of our search pattern, we turned to avoid some rain showers and that’s when we looked down and saw an island, so we decide to check it out and that’s when we saw S.O.S and a boat right next to it on the beach,” said Lt. Col. Jason Palmeira-Yen, an Air Force pilot. A helicopter crew from HMAS Canberra located the mariners, checked for major injuries and delivered them food and water, the Australian Department of Defence said. Authorities said the men were in good condition.

Beer Has Unfortunate Name
A brewery in Western Canada was forced to apologize after naming a beer product after the Māori word for pubic hair. Hell’s Basement Brewery in Alberta started marketing Huruhuru, a New Zealand craft ale, last year. The brewery picked the name because it understood the word meant ‘feather’ or ‘fur.’ But Te Hamua Nikora, a Māori living in New Zealand and well-known former TV personality, said that the word ‘huruhuru’ also has an altogether different meaning for the Kiwi indigenous community. ‘Yes I know huruhuru means feather, fur and even hair of the head,’ he wrote in an Facebook post on August 1. ‘I know this. But it is most commonly used as hair from a person’s privates.’ Nikora called out the Canadian brewery as well as a leather shop in Wellington, New Zealand, which also adopted the name ‘huruhuru.’ He said he had contacted both the store and the brewery informing them of their mistake and asked for non-Māori businesses to use their own language to promote their products.
