The Rock Owns The XFL

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is part of an investor group that has purchased the XFL for $15 million.  “With my trail blazing [business] partner Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital Partners, we have acquired the XFL,” Johnson tweeted Monday.  “With gratitude and passion I’ve built a career with my own two hands and will apply these callouses to our XFL 2020 brand. Excited to create something special for the fans!”  The XFL declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April and has twice been forced to shut. The league first launched in 2001, but had to close after one season. Owner Vince McMahon then re-launched the league in February before it again ceased to operate after one season.  The latest version of the XFL lasted for five weeks before the eight-team league suspended play in April due to the coronavirus pandemic. The XFL laid off nearly its entire workforce amid the pandemic.  Johnson, 48, ranked No. 1 on Forbes’ list of the world’s ten highest-paid actors in 2019 after he made $89.4 million between June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019.
******Wouldn’t it be cool if the XFL was the league where all the ex-boyfriends play?? No??
******Gee… wonder if The Rock will make a few appearances to pump up attendance? Ya think??
******This is one league that has no deflated balls!!!

Katherine Schwarzenegger Is “Ready To Pop”

Chris Pratt commended his pregnant wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, for still keeping active while “ready to pop.”  On Saturday, they went on a hike together and Pratt joked about the possibility of her giving birth on the trail,. “Ready to pop Still don’t stop,” he captioned a photo of them on his Instagram Story, which was later shared by a fan account.  She had her baby bump on full display in form-fitting work out gear.  Pratt continued: “Top of the mountain today. Kinda grateful it didn’t go down on the trail tho [sic] to be real.”  They are expecting their first child together this year. Pratt also shares a son with his ex-wife Anna Faris.  Last month, the lifestyle author opened up about what it’s been like quarantining while pregnant during the coronavirus pandemic.  “I think No. 1, just surrounding yourself with your loved ones, in a safe way, obviously, has been nice,” Schwarzenegger told Entertainment Tonight.  See the pic HERE.
********Let’s face it: this baby hit the gene=pool jackpot!!!
******How old should he be before they tell him his ancestors include the Terminator and a U.S. President??
TOPIC: Did you give birth in an “interesting” place??? Or… who gave birth outside a hospital???

Terry Crews Apologizes Again To Gabrielle Union

Terry Crews issued another public apology to Gabrielle Union after the former “America’s Got Talent” judge called him out for not supporting her amid her firing from the show.  She appeared as a judge on Season 14 of the show. In November 2019, she alleged that there was a racist and “toxic” work culture on the set of the NBC show. Shortly after, it came to light that she and fellow judge Julianne Hough wouldn’t be returning for the 2020 season.  During a recent appearance on the “Jemele Hill Is Unbothered” podcast, Union spoke out against Crews for essentially siding with NBC and the show as it was coming to light what a bad experience she had behind the scenes. In response, Crews took to Twitter to issue another public apology.  “This will be my 3rd public apology to Gabrielle Union,” Crews wrote in a tweet. “If a 4th is needed, I will continue to apologize and push for reconciliation between the world, and more importantly, the culture I grew up in.”  He concluded: “I’m sorry, @itsgabrielleu.”
********Terry Crews is a real dude. #1, he has enough manliness to apologize without feeling he’s lost anything. Take note!!
*******Secondly, you don’t wanna mess with this guy!!

Brian Austin Green Wishes His Ex The Best

Brian Austin Green discovered that his estranged wife, Megan Fox, was dating Machine Gun Kelly in his “own way” — and it wasn’t in the press.  “I found out in my own way. And that’s as much detail as I’ll give you on that one. I didn’t read about it or anything like that,” He said while appearing on the podcast “Hollywood Raw” with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn.  He said they are dealing with their breakup amicably.  “I think it’s going as well as it can,” he said. “There’s no rule book to it. There’s no way of doing it right or doing it wrong. We are learning as we go. The important thing for us is just communicating as much as we can.”  “I wish Megan the absolute best in everything. I want her to be completely happy, for her, for the kids. That’s super important.  No one wants to be around somebody that’s unhappy, nothing good comes out of that,” he continued. “That’s a terrible situation. We are taking it day by day. This is insane, this happened at an unfortunate time that nobody could have predicted with quarantine and the virus and all of that. The news cycle is a bit bigger than we were prepared for. It is what it is.”
*******This sounds like she wasn’t the first to cheat!!! He sounds pretty happy!!
******Most people aren’t thinking about “the news cycle” when they break up!!
******He’s ready to move on.. and he’s also ready for her to get an incurable disease!!!

Who Should Replace Ellen?

What all the talk that Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show kingdom is crumbling, many online think they know the perfect replacement.  #ReplaceEllen is trending on Twitter.  “Drag Race” host RuPaul, former first lady Michelle Obama and One Direction breakout star Harry Styles are being pushed by fans on Twitter to take over the comfy chair and cushy contract, while some think a female comedian, like Wanda Sykes or Tiffany Haddish, would fit the bill.  A-listers like Rihanna and Jerry Seinfeld plus actors Jennifer GarnerRobert Downey Jr. were thrown around, plus up-and-comers like the impersonator Sarah Cooper, and less serious contenders like “my dad.” Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle even got a shout-out. But not everyone is on the train to boot the one-time fave from the screen.  “Maybe Ellen is a jerk to people in Hollywood because people in Hollywood are notoriously terrible people,” wrote one defender in a thread. “#ReplaceEllen is trending and [I] just sat wondering why people feel the need to be bullies and take part in cancel culture,” wrote @thelaurajessica.  Multiple outlets reported that “The Late Late Show” host James Corden is being tapped for the spot.
*******Our money is on Meghan Markle!!!
******WE PREDICT that her fans will just choose not to believe it!! The same way Michael Jackson’s fans chose to ignore the accusations!!
*******Her new logo is “Chillin’ With Ellen!!”
******HAVE YOU NOTICED that all her problems started after she was spotted getting chummy with George W. Bush at a ball game?? The only thing worse in Hollywood would be saying something nice about Trump!!
UPDATE!!!! Here’s the REAL list of possible replacements: Kristen Bell, Melissa McCarthy and… Jennifer Aniston!! Hmmm….

Britney Spears’ Dad Says She’s Not Being Controlled

Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie Spears, has spoken out against an ongoing theory that his daughter is being controlled.  Over the weekend, he talked to the New York Post about the #FreeBritney movement that’s bubbled up all over the internet and insisted: “All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue.”  Since 2008, after Britney Spears was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital, her father and attorney Andrew Wallet were given a temporary conservatorship over her that has since become permanent. The conservatorship means that her financial affairs and daily life is managed by someone else. The hashtag #FreeBritney was created as part of an ongoing effort and plea from fans to remove that conservatorship, which many believe is holding the singer “hostage.” While fans have been calling for Britney Spears’ freedom since the conservatorship took effect, the movement exploded over the last few months as fans have spent a lot of time in lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus watching and rewatching many of Britney’s videos to look for coded messaging. As a result, they’ve come up with all sorts of explanations for Britney’s behavior on Twitter and TikTok.
*******Her behavior on TikTok just shows why she shouldn’t manage her own money!!

Meghan And Harry’s Dog Name Revealed

In the summer of 2018, shortly after Meghan and Harry wed, they welcomed a black Labrador rescue into their home. Until now, the name has been a mystery. They even joked themselves that “people keep getting her name wrong.”  In the best-selling new book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family by veteran royal journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the authors reveal that the high-energy pup’s name is “Pula”.  The name comes with a special meaning. Pula is the official currency of Botswana, the country in Africa where Harry took Meghan when they first started dating. Pula means “rain” in Setswana — and since rain is very scarce in Botswana, it’s considered valuable and a blessing.  The surprise trip to Botswana for Meghan’s 36th birthday offered the new couple a chance to really get to know one another out of the spotlight. Within three months, they were exchanging “I love you’s.”
********They slept together for three months before deciding they love each other? Sounds right!!
********Sounds like he’d rather be the “Duke of Botswana!!”
******They should name the dog after something they really love, like “Money!!”

Kanye West may finally have gone too far.  After multiple Twitter posts, including an accusation of infidelity against wife Kim Kardashian and a shocking presidential-rally confession that the couple had considered aborting their first pregnancy, the rapper publicly apologized to his wife of six years.  “I did not cover her like she has covered me,” West, 43, tweeted on July 25.  “TO Kim I want to say I know I hurt you.  Please forgive me.”  But multiple sources say Kardashian, 39, has met with divorce lawyers-and the first meeting was long before West’s recent behavior.  “She envisioned spending the rest of her life with him,” says a source, but “she has to get real for the sake of the family.”

STUPID NEWS

Another Day In Florida

A Florida man was arrested Saturday after worrying citizens who spotted him walking down a road while waving a gun in one hand and holding an alcoholic beverage in the other, authorities said.  Deputies responded shortly before noon to reports of a man pointing a gun at vehicles driving along a street in Wimauma, about 30 miles southeast of Tampa, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.  Deputies said 66-year-old Eric Ricardo Felder was holding and “carelessly waving” a loaded .38 Smith and Wesson revolver in one hand and a Blue Moon beer in the other when they arrived.  “With an intoxicated person handling a loaded gun in public, this is an incident that could have potentially ended very badly,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.  Felder was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff’s office said.
********He was just waving at passersby!! He forgot he had a gun in his hand!!!
*******Sounds like his clip isn’t loaded, if you know what we mean!!
******His gun “triggered” a few people!!

Man Waiting For Train Gets Hit By Car

A man in California had to be rushed to an area hospital on Saturday after he was struck by a vehicle while waiting on a train station platform, according to officials.  The Suisun City Fire Department said on Facebook the incident happened around 7:46 a.m. at the Suisun City Train Station, located about 44 miles southwest of Sacramento.  “The male ended up on the middle platform, while the car was stuck on the tracks,” the fire department said.  Photos released from the scene show a white car stuck diagonally across the train tracks.

*****At least his guy has a story to tell!!

Drug Smuggling Cat

A cat detained at Sri Lanka’s main prison while allegedly trying to smuggle drugs and cell phone SIM cards has escaped, media reports said Monday.  It was detected by jail intelligence officials on Saturday at the high-security Welikada Prison, a police official said.  He said nearly two grams of heroin, two SIM cards and a memory chip were found in a small plastic bag tied around the cat’s neck.  But it escaped on Sunday from a prison room where it was kept, the Aruna newspaper said.  There was no immediate comment from prison authorities.  The prison had reported an increase in incidents of people throwing small packets of drugs, cell phones and phone chargers over the walls in recent weeks.  Police last week seized an eagle allegedly used by drug traffickers to distribute narcotics in a suburb of Colombo.
*******Did he steal anything?? Is he a cat burglar??
******Why not just bribe the guards like we do in the states??
******Sounds like cat is the brains of the operation!!!

Mannequins Used In Empty Restaurants

The pandemic might have left many restaurants empty, but one establishment in Tokyo is relying on some model customers to enforce social distancing: life-like mannequins keeping diners from getting too close.  Masato Takemine’s Chinese restaurant looks busy even as many businesses in the city deal with a dearth of clientele, with ladies in ornate Chinese-style dresses and a girl in a kimono among those seated at his tables.  But the 16 customers are actually mannequins he has placed randomly at tables to keep diners from getting too close.  “At first I removed some of the tables to have more space in between, but it then looked so lonely, as if the restaurant was under renovation,” Takemine told AFP.
*******He could have used blow-up dolls!!!!
*******The mannequins just ordered salads… like real models!!
*******Raise your hand if you’re tired of the pandemic!!! Good! That’s everybody!!

7 Major Mistakes People Make When Choosing An RV

**People are buying RV’s like crazy during the pandemic! – Huffington Post

  1. Believing bigger is better

Considering that you’ll be spending a good amount of time in your RV, you want to be comfortable. Choosing something too small will make traveling feel claustrophobic. But that doesn’t mean you should buy the biggest RV you can.

“The mistake I made was thinking I needed more space than we actually needed,” said Angela M. DiLoreto, who travels nearly full time in her travel trailer and blogs with her husband at Fitting in Adventure. “People compare the space to their houses; we spend a lot of time in the four walls of our home but little time inside the walls of an RV.” However, she said, the RV experience is about what happens outside those walls.

A smaller vehicle will be easier to drive and park, as well as faster to set up and tear down. Plus, many national parks have length restrictions for camping, so keep this in mind when choosing the size of your RV.

  1. Buying brand spanking new

If you’re buying your RV, it might be tempting to lean toward the security of buying brand new. After all, new cars are in great shape and ready to roll, so you might presume RVs are, too.

“This isn’t true in RVing, unfortunately,” said Georgianne Austin, communications director for Escapees RV Club. Common advice shared in RVing circles, she said, is that it’s best to buy an RV that’s at least two years old. “The idea behind this is to let someone else deal with the fresh-off-the-lot issues, such as interior construction problems, chassis problems, etc., which surface during the first real ride with the RV.” This is often referred to as the “shakedown” trip.

By purchasing a used RV, someone else has already dealt with those issues that arise with the first few trips and has hopefully had them fixed by the time you take over.

  1. Failing to check the carrying capacity

Because RVs are big, you might think that they can easily haul whatever you can fit inside. And you might believe that the bigger the RV, the more it can tow. Those are misconceptions that can cost you, said Kimberly Button, co-editor of Couch Potato Camping. “All RVs are different, based on their designs, but they are only designed to safely carry a certain amount of weight, which is known as gross cargo carrying capacity.”

Cargo carrying capacities can range from just a few hundred pounds to several thousand pounds. Either way, that limit includes personal items (shoes, clothing, sports gear, etc.), food, water (including fresh, gray and black tanks), updates or additions to the RV (solar panels, TVs, etc.) and passengers.

Button warned that carrying more than that capacity could damage your RV or trailer, tow vehicle or both. “It is extremely important for RV buyers to consider how they are going to camp and how many people they will be bringing.”

  1. Not considering what your tow vehicle can handle

Another mistake, specifically for those looking at travel trailers, is purchasing a camper too heavy for the towing capacity of their vehicle, according to Rosanna T. Mitchell, founder of outdoor family adventure site A Pragmatic Lens. “Horror stories abound of RV dealers and sales associates assuring customers that their vehicle is able to tow a camper weighing thousands of pounds only to realize later they need a new towing vehicle, or worse, get in an accident,” she said.

If you plan to buy a trailer, be sure that your existing vehicle is equipped to tow the weight. If not, you may need to budget for a new towing vehicle or consider a different type of RV.

  1. Traveling with too many aftermarket modifications

Especially with the explosion of the “van life” movement, many RV owners are making aftermarket modifications to their vehicles to make them more livable and aesthetically pleasing.

However, you should be wary of purchasing an RV with modifications such as high roofs or different passenger and driver seats, said Tina Willis, a personal injury attorney in Orlando, Florida, who’s owned an RV for about five years.

“The reason is that these aftermarket changes very often aren’t nearly as safe as those tested and engineered by the original vehicle manufacturer,” she said. For example, removing the original roof from a van and adding a new high top eliminates the metal support beams that surround the occupants. Plus, many extended vans already have a higher rollover risk, and making them taller adds to that risk.

It can be tempting to buy something that looks like it drove right off an influencer’s Instagram feed, but safety should be the priority when choosing a vehicle.

  1. Picking a poor floor plan

Rae Miller, blogger at the Getaway Couple, said it’s important for first-time renters or buyers to really think about the floor plan they want. For instance, are you a family that needs separate areas for the kids? Are you bringing any large toys along? Do you like the open concept or do you want distinct living areas?

Some newer RV models also have retractable slides that will affect how accessible the interior is while driving. “The number one question we tell first-time buyers to ask themselves is: Can you access the bedroom, bathroom and fridge with the slides in? You’d be surprised how many times you’ll want to access these areas with the slides retracted when traveling, so make sure they aren’t blocked,” Miller said.

  1. Assuming you’ll get it perfect the first time

Becca Borawski Jenkins, a senior editor at FinanceBuzz who’s been a full-time RVer for over three years, said she knows few people who are still driving the first RV they purchased. “Most are on their second or third, and some have gone through even more than that.”

Why? It takes time and experience to truly understand what you want and need in an RV. And that’s OK. Jenkins said realizing you won’t buy the perfect RV the first time is a good thing, as it relieves some of the pressure when choosing a vehicle to invest in. “You’ll probably buy one that turns out to be too big or too small or doesn’t feature an amenity you later realize is essential to your camping happiness,” she said.

The most important thing is to not break the bank on your first choice. “If you don’t spend a fortune your first time out, then you can trade your first RV in and get the RV of your dreams the second time around.”
