Elon’s Ex Shades Him Via Song
Grimes didn’t hold back in her new song “Player of Games” and seemingly made a number of digs at her ex Elon Musk. The Canadian singer, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, split from him in September after three years together. They share one son together, names X Æ A-Xii or “Baby X.” “I’m in love with the greatest gamer,” she sings. “But he’ll always love the game more than he loves me.” Before starting the electric vehicle company, Musk developed video games and considers himself an avid gamer who still loves to play Halo. Elsewhere in the song Grimes sings, “Sail away to the cold expanse of space, even love couldn’t keep you in your place.” Musk also founded SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturer and space transportation company, in the hopes of colonizing Mars one day. When they split three months ago, Musk said at the time, “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms.” “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”

Prince Harry Says To Leave Your Job If You’re Not Happy
Prince Harry believes it is important for people to work at jobs that they enjoy and that leaving a miserable career is good for one’s mental health. During a recent interview with Fast Company magazine, Harry, who quit his own job as a senior member of the British royal family in 2021 — said that job resignations during the pandemic “aren’t all bad.” “In fact, it is a sign that with self-awareness comes the need for change,” he said while promoting his mental health-focused startup BetterUp. “Many people around the world have been stuck in jobs that didn’t bring them joy, and now they’re putting their mental health and happiness first. This is something to be celebrated.” Harry added that the horde of people who left their jobs amid the pandemic inspired a much-needed cultural shift. “While on the surface it looks like these last couple of years brought all these issues to the foreground, the reality is these struggles and issues have been brewing for quite some time. We’re just at the beginning of the mental health awakening,” he said. “This work has never been more important because people are finally paying attention, and a big component of this mission is building awareness and continuing to pioneer the conversation.”

James Bond Will Be Back! (Spoiler!!!!!!)
After apparently being killed in an explosion at the end of the most recent James Bond flick, “No Time to Die,” viewers should expect to see 007 on screen again. “We’ll figure that one out, but he will be back. You can rest assured James Bond will be back,” producer Barbara Broccoli said Saturday at a Deadline event, the Hollywood site reported. Broccoli was joined by producer Michael Wilson, special effects supervisor Chris Corbould — and Rami Malek, who plays Bond’s latest nemesis, Safin. Daniel Craig, who has portrayed 007 since 2006, did not sit for the panel. “No Time to Die,” released in the US in October, is his fifth and last time as the suave British secret agent.

Ad Fab! Ryan Reynolds-(Star)
As seen on TV! Before Ryan was famous, he was pushing products on the small screen. Sure, the 45-year-old can still be found in TV ads today, but in his younger years the Canadian teen soap star appeared in an over-the-top 1994 spot for Push Pops. Despite spending more than half of his life in front of the camera, the actor doesn’t want his three daughters to go into the biz: “It’s a huge burden on your nervous system,” he’s said of child stardom.

Cockatoo Escapes
An animal sanctuary in North Carolina is attempting to recapture an umbrella cockatoo that escaped from its closure during a break-in. The Dunrovin Exotic Animal Rescue in Vass said the exotic bird, named Oliver, fled when a burglar broke into the facility on Thanksgiving and damaged the bird’s enclosure. “We’re not sure if someone was trying to steal him, or think he’s trying to do the right thing by letting him go,” Jacob Seebode, a caretaker at the sanctuary, told WRAL-TV. Seebode said Oliver has never lived in the wild and is in danger from predators, including hawks and eagles. “Letting him go was not the right thing to do,” Seebode said. He said Oliver also does not know how to forage for his own food. The sanctuary recommended that anyone who spots Oliver try to lure the bird with peanuts or almonds.

Twin Cities Orthopedics said the deer made its way into the company’s facility in Stillwater and was caught on security cameras running loose through the building. The video, which the company shared on Facebook, shows the deer vaulting over desks and running through hallways and a large room with exercise machines in its search for an exit. “Luckily he’s in great shape and was returned safe and sound and ready for the holidays,” the post said. Bath & Body Obsession
The spirit of Christmas is in the air for one Florida couple – but Bath & Body Works only brightened up the day for one wife-to-be while her fiancé took the Scrooge approach. Allyson DeFelice puts the “fan” in Bath & Body Works candle fanatic, having a separate room in her house entirely devoted to them. This year she pounced on the company’s annual “Candle Day” when throngs of devotees flock to the stores to take advantage of a major discount: three-wick candles on a limited-time sale for $10.25 – nearly 60% off its regular price. Friday and Saturday marked the first year “Candle Day” stretched out over two days. DeFelice told FOX Business she was first in line at a Boca Raton Bath & Body Works at 4:30 a.m. on Friday. She spent the day at three other locations and on Saturday re-visited two of those stores. Lucky for her, she had some help: her fiancé, Andrew Bateman. “He’s a good sport. He thinks I’m crazy. But he comes along and carries all my candles,” DeFelice told FOX Business. When asked what motivated him to tag along, Bateman cited the age-old maxim: “Happy wife, happy life.” In the end, the couple added 221 new candles to their collection. DeFelice shared photos on social media showing Bateman with a scowl on his face while surrounded by shopping bags. Still, he said seeing her happy kept him going. “We’re a team. We do everything in a team aspect,” Bateman told FOX Business. “Whatever she has I try to support her in any which way I can. Even though I don’t understand the craze but if it makes her happy, then I’m happy.”
*********Will he understand when she burns down the house???

12 Gifts That Won’t Be Held Up by Supply Chain Woes
The Penny Hoarder
Matching PJs
Up your Christmas-morning game by shopping the collection of uber-soft flannel pajamas from Vermont Flannel Co. Opt for matching ones with the whole family, or just for you and your bestie. Besides PJs, Vermont Flannel Co. also has great-quality flannel shirts and this nifty DIY Quilt Kit.
Pendleton Blanket
Make the winter nights a little cozier for your favorite person by getting them one of these iconic throw blankets from Pendleton. American-made, these blankets are the perfect way to dress up an old couch, remake a bedroom, or even just curl up around the fire.
Green Toys
If you don’t want to worry about your kiddo’s gifts arriving on-time this year, then you might just want to shop the selection at Green Toys. Based in California, this company isn’t just busting out cool toys that are battery-free. They’re also on a mission to make a meaningful impact on the environment. So far, the company has recycled plastic from over 100 million milk jugs and counting.
Homemade Dog Toys
Don’t forget about your favorite pooch this season. Shop some of the cutest dog toys on the internet with this collection of US-based Etsy makers. From fake doggy spritzers to antler chews, this list has something for every four-legged cutie on your list.
A Smart Blender
For the nutrition freak in your life, check out these smart blenders from Vitamix. Unlike many other appliance makers, Vitamix doesn’t seem to be experiencing supply chain issues (being American-made probably helps). So go ahead and put at least one “smart” thing under your tree this year, even if it’s just a really good blender.
The super blenders range from about $400 to $525 but you can cut hundreds from the bill with a $99 Ninja combo blender and food processor. If it’s a smoothie maker on their list, check out the $70 Ninja pro blender with powerful ice-crushing capabilities.
Pizza Oven
For the pizza-fiends in your life, give them the gift of “a reason to fire up the grill” with this pizza oven grill-insert from Kettle Pizza. Forget brick-oven pizza, this season’s pizza parties are being served hot off the ol’ grill.
Wine & Spirits
Lest you’ve forgotten how great it is to receive a bottle of your favorite wine or liquor, let us remind you. Fancy wine and spirits make some of the best gifts out there. Shop your local liquor store for a nice bottle to gift your favorite wine snob.
A bottle — or case — of wine might be the best present you’ll give this year. Check our list of the best red wines under $12.
Local Arts & Crafts
Support your local crafters, artists and jewelers this holiday season by shopping at the holiday markets and events happening near you. Check your newspaper and online community events pages to find a local fair and get something unique for everyone on your list.
Subscription Boxes
Looking for an easy present that lets your special someone try something new? Then you might just want to try giving them a subscription box. Some of our favorites include The Wordy Traveler, Brother Vellies, Ship Sunshine and Undiscovered Artisan.
Gift Cards
Boring? Maybe, but gift cards are still one of the best presents to give someone who already has everything. Give them a gift card to their favorite techy store (so they can finally place an order for that new phone when it’s back in stock) or just go classic with a gift card to their favorite restaurant.
Knick Knacks
If you’re not sure what to buy for someone on your list, take a minute to browse the selection at Uncommon Goods. If Target and World Market had a baby, it would probably be this store. But unlike some of those other big-box stores, these gifts are all made right here in the USA, and completely unaffected by the supply chain. A special Christmas tree ornament is always a nice gift.
Something to Read
Subscriptions to magazines (remember those?) can be had for as little as $10 a year. Topics range from cooking to automotive to fashion to travel and beyond. Smithsonian magazine is the official journal of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and 12 issues are just $12. The GIFT subscription comes with a Smithsonian membership. Look for a book idea on NPR’s top books of 2021.
