Sex And The City Reboot
HBO Max has announced plans for a Sex and the City sequel series starring original cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis and executive produced by Michael Patrick King. “The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” the streaming service said in a press release Sunday. The 10-episode, half-hour series is called And Just Like That. Filming is scheduled to begin in New York in the late spring. “I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them,” Sarah Aubrey — head of original content at HBO Max — said in a statement. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha, has said in recent years she is not interested in revisiting the role.

Meghan and Harry May Reunite With Royal Family
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will reportedly reunite with the royal family this spring — one year after stepping back as senior members and moving to the United States. According to the Sunday Times, they plan to fly to the United Kingdom in June to attend the Trooping of the Colour, the Queen’s annual birthday parade. The celebration will mark Queen Elizabeth’s 95th birthday and will be the first national celebration since the pandemic started in March. “The current plan is for the queen’s birthday parade to go ahead in London as normal, with the acceptance that it may need to be adapted or scaled back depending on what guidelines are in force at the time,” a royal source told the Times. “But the aspiration and the ultimate desire is to make it happen.” Due to the lockdowns in 2020, last year’s Trooping of the Colour took place at Windsor Castle instead of Buckingham Palace and was a much smaller affair. The last time Markle and Harry made a public appearance as royal family members in England was on March 9, 2020, at the Westminster Abbey Commonwealth service. They now live in Montecito, Calif., with their 1-year-old son, Archie.

Diddy’s Home Robbery
A person tried to break into Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ home in Los Angeles last Thursday. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department says that officers conducted a burglary investigation at Combs’ Toluca Lake mansion on Jan. 7 at 1:38 p.m. PT. “A report was taken, but we can’t disclose any victim information,” the rep said. The officer did not say whether suspects have been arrested. It is unclear whether anyone was home at the time of the incident, but TMZ reports that a caretaker discovered the break-in. Diddy has been spending most of his time in Miami amid the coronavirus pandemic. The home where the attempted burglary took place was Diddy’s house with his late ex, Kim Porter. She died at the property in Nov. 2018.

The owner of the luxury Nemacolin in Pennsylvania — where this season of ABC’s “The Bachelor” filmed — says “sex and love is in the air” at the property. The resort’s CEO, Maggie Hardy Knox, told Page Six of the show shooting at the location: “Sometimes there’s some hanky-panky going on where it should not have been, but I can’t tell you everything that was going on. We are on 3,000 acres. So there’s a lot of land, and a lot of woods out there. There were things going on inside and outside of the hotel all the time.” Things apparently got so frisky, “We actually found a used condom in the tree branch.” Hardy Knox, who inherited the property in 1986 that holds an estimated $45 million worth of artworks, said of hosting the show: “People are bored… we’re in quarantine, we are here to serve in any way that we can. Record Breaking Sidecar Trip
A pair of British adventurers were awarded the Guinness World Record for longest journey on a scooter with a sidecar when they took a 34,000-mile trip around the world. Oxfordshire residents Matt Bishop and Reece Gilkes took their Honda SH300i scooter and a homemade sidecar on a journey across the globe that the men said took 15 months to complete. “We knew we would struggle and that was the point. The idea was to see how far we could get with only very little money and the help of complete strangers,” Bishop told the Banbury Guardian. The pair said people around the world opened up their homes to them during their journey and some strangers even came to their rescue when they ended up in dangerous situations. The trip, which spanned 35 countries and five continents, raised $9,800 for various anti-slavery and anti-human trafficking charities.

A North Carolina man said a quick stop to grab a salad and an energy drink for a long night at work led to his winning a $100,000 lottery jackpot. Matthew Hehs of Mooresville told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he was in for a late night at work, so he stopped at the Harris Teeter store in Davidson for a salad and a Monster energy drink. While at the store, Hehs decided to buy a few scratch-off tickets that he took with him to work. “I scratched the first one, and nothing,” Hehs said. “When I scratched the second one, I had to kinda take a step back. I triple checked and it was $100,000. I was pretty excited!” The ticket that earned Hehs his jackpot was a 100X the Cash game. “It’s gonna be money well spent,” he said.

Stolen Airplane
Police in Cottonwood, Arizona are looking for a plane that was stolen from the local airport on New Year’s Eve, as well as the people responsible for the theft. The thieves broke into the airport just before midnight on Dec. 31 by disabling the main gate and forcing it open, police said in a Facebook post. The city-owned airport has one runway, 10 hangars, several dozen tie-down spaces and a 1,600-square-foot terminal. The terminal is open until 4 or 5 p.m. each day, but self-service fuel is available 24/7. Once inside the airport, the crooks took a box trailer containing an airplane. They also made off with some airplane parts, police said. Police estimated the total loss at somewhere between $70,000 and $80,000. A photo of the airplane shared by police shows it’s a small red and white aircraft with the tail number N153PR.

Fishermen Catch Naked Fugitive!
Two fishermen have rescued a naked fugitive who they found sitting on a tree branch in Australian crocodile habitat. Kev Joiner and Cam Fraust, both recreational fishers, found the 40-year-old in East Point, close to the city of Darwin on Sunday. The friends said they heard Luke Voskresensky shout out for help as they were setting crab traps from their dinghy in the swamp. They said Voskresensky – who was covered in mud, cuts and insect bites – begged them for a drink of clean water, and said that he had been living off snails for four days. Mr Fraust said he had been using his clothes “for bits and pieces over the way”. “It didn’t make sense to us. He had a nest made up in the tree, and he was only laying a metre above the water and there were crocs in the water so he has done well to survive.”
