The Talk On Hiatus

Tapings of The Talk have been canceled Monday and Tuesday due to tension among the hosts of the show.  CBS had previously said it is conducting an “internal review” of an on-air discussion between panelists Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood last week.  Osbourne defended her friend, British broadcaster Piers Morgan, who has come under fire for saying he does not believe Meghan Markle — Prince Harry’s wife — had been suicidal when she was mistreated by the royal family as Markle alleged in a recent television interview with Oprah Winfrey.  Osbourne emphasized she didn’t agree with everything Morgan said, but thinks he has the right to express his opinion.    “While you are standing by you your friend, it appears that you are giving validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist,” Underwood told Osbourne on last Wednesday’s episode of the show.  “I feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is racist, so that makes me a racist,” Osbourne replied, asking Underwood to clarify how Morgan’s remarks were racist and vehemently denying that she, herself, is racist.  Osbourne later posted an apology on Twitter.
********Didn’t she see Chris Harrison bite the dust?? Never argue with a black woman about racism!!!
******We didn’t see the whole discussion, but it seemed like her biggest problem is she lost her temper!!!
*******When they cancel her, she’ll have more time at home with Ozzy!!

Harry and William Pay Tribute To Their Mom

Prince Harry and Prince William paid their own tributes in honor of their late mother Princess Diana.  On Sunday, a spokesperson for Harry told Harper’s Bazaar royal editor Omid Scobie that the Duke of Sussex had a bouquet of flowers laid at his mother’s final resting place.  “A spokesperson for Prince Harry says that he arranged for flowers to be laid at the grave of Princess Diana on the Spencer family estate in Althorp, Northamptonshire for #MothersDay in the UK today,” the “Finding Freedom” author tweeted.  William also honored their mother. The official Instagram page for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed handmade cards his three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, made for “Granny Diana.”  “This year Mother’s Day will be different once again,” said the caption. “Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again. But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging.”  The brothers are scheduled to stand together at a memorial they commissioned for Diana this summer.
*******Father’s Day is awkward… especially when Camilla walks in!!!

Did Meghan Really Get Secretly Married?

A UK vicar has thrown cold water on Meghan Markle’s claim that she and Prince Harry secretly tied the knot in their backyard days before their lavish public exchange of vows — insisting he was assured “no wedding took place.”  Meghan told Oprah Winfrey during the couple’s bombshell TV interview that they actually got hitched three days before their highly-publicized ceremony in May 2018.  “No one knows that. But we called the archbishop [of Canterbury], and we just said, ‘Look, this thing, this spectacle, is for the world, but we want our union between us,’” she said during the sit-down.   But Newcastle Vicar Rev Mark Edwards — who has been flooded with private wedding requests during the coronavirus lockdown — contacted the Archbishop’s office after the claims to “get some clarity” on church policy, according to local newspaper The Chronicle.  Edwards said he was told by a staffer at Lambeth Palace, the Archbishop’s official residence, that “Justin does not do private weddings,” The Sun reported.  “Meghan is an American, she does not understand,” Edwards told the outlet.  Edwards claimed the person he spoke to told him that “Justin had a private conversation with the couple in the garden about the wedding, but I can assure you, no wedding took place until the televised national event.”  The Church of England also requires two witnesses to any nuptials for them to be valid — and ceremonies must take place in “a certified place of worship” that allows the public “unrestricted access” so objections may be lodged.
********Meghan forgot: Do NOT fib about “check-able facts!!!!!”
******She remembers that “the Archbishop of Canterbury was there, then an Elvis impersonator came in and married us!!”
******We know at least ONE member of the family objected.. we’re just not sure which one it was!!

Bill Burr Slammed After Grammy’s Flub

Bill Burr’s 2021 Grammys prediction came true after social-media users ripped him over his controversial presentation at the pre-recorded awards show Sunday.  While presenting the honor for Best Tropical Latin Album, he joked that “feminists are, like, going nuts” and wondered, “Why is the cis-white male doing all this Latino stuff?” He had kicked off the speech by quipping that he “wanted to kill himself” during a protracted piano performance that preceded his appearance.  Burr slipped up again in mispronouncing the name of the Best Regional Mexican Music Album (Including Tejano) winner, Natalia Lafourcade.  “I can’t say the name. The Grammy goes to Natalia Lafourcade,” he said. “I will accept on behalf of her. If I butchered her name, I’m sorry. Natalia, you won.”  “Sorry to everyone on the tl/watching who’s been forced to learn who bill burr is,” tweeted one detractor. “He’s been absolute garbage for years and i shook my head in bitter disbelief when i saw he was one of the presenters. further shows the grammys don’t *really* care at all about inclusivity/progress.”  Another wrote that while they enjoyed Burr’s Netflix show, “his jokes at the Grammys were just not… funny.”  One critic snarked, “i miss 10 minutes ago when i didn’t know who bill burr was #GRAMMYs.”
********Ooooohhh… burn!!!
*****You know who he is NOW… and that’s the whole point, right??
****It IS pretty amazing that you would have a presenter in a category who has no knowledge of the music. THAT one is on the Academy!!
*****RELAX.. the ratings are in.. and nobody saw the show!! It was the LEAST-WATCHED GRAMMYS EVER. Very, very bad!!

Elisa Jordana Hopes It Sticks with Andy Dick-(National Enquirer)

Troubled comic Andy Dick, 55, has popped the question to Elisa Jordana, his co-star on the YouTube comedy show “Kermit and Friends.”  But the 32-year-old brunette beauty says:  “As long as nothing weird happens, it is happening.  My mom is coming in June for my birthday so hopefully then.”

Mandy Moore’s Miracle Baby-(Globe)

“This Is Us” star Mandy Moore, 36, is a first-time mom, thanks to a miraculous surprise pregnancy with musician husband Taylor Goldsmith, 35.  The elated couple welcomed a son, named August because it’s the month they first learned she was with child!  “He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents,” gushes the famous proud mama, who tied the knot in 2018 and found out she was expecting right before an operation to find out why she couldn’t conceive.  “I was fully prepared to go have surgery and fix my uterus and hopefully get rid of the endometriosis, if it was there,” reveals the actress, clearly now in baby heaven.  “We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand-new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”  Aww.

Jimmy Fallon:  Making Moves-(Us Weekly)

Live from New York…..Jimmy Fallon is selling his penthouse apartment for $15 million!  The Tonight Show host-who has spent much of the pandemic at his family home in Long Island-first purchased the downtown Manhattan pad in 2002 and turned it into his marital home with wife Nancy Juvonen when they wed in 2007.  The news of the listing comes just weeks after news that Fallon, 46, and the 53-year-old film producer’s marriage was under pressure due to what sources call his recent reckless behavior.  While Juvonen hasn’t been “happy about his late nights and wants him to get help,” said the source, the Saturday Night Live alum has been taking steps to “dial down” on the partying.  “Jimmy’s been spending more time with his [wife and two kids],” noted the source, “he isn’t the mess he once was.”

Why Blake’s Leaving The Voice-(Star)

It’s the end of an era.  According to a source, the veteran Voice coach is planning to leave the hit singing competition show after 20 seasons (and seven wins).  “All good things must come to an end,” says the source, “and Blake’s ready for his next challenge.”  The source reveals the singer is hoping to focus more of his energy on his own music and mentoring up-and-coming country stars the old-fashioned way.  “He wants to help shape people’s careers in a more under-the-radar fashion,” says the source, “without cameras rolling.”  Plus, the source adds, he’s also looking to lighten his load a bit.  “He wants more time to kick back and be a husband and a dad and not be tied to work all day, every day.”

Kim Takes Kanye To the Cleaners-(Life & Style)

Kanye West was dealt a devastating blow in his divorce from Kim Kardashian.  According to reports, the reality star, 40, will be keeping the deed to their Hidden Hills, Calif., home.  The couple purchased the colossal spread for $20 million in 2014, but it took three years (and allegedly another $20 million) before the custom pad was complete.  The rapper, 43, hired a team of world-famous architects to ensure the “minimalist monastery” met his exact specifications.  A source says, “Of course, he’s upset.  There’s a lot of money at stake here, and just like in most divorces, Kanye’s worried about getting the short end of the stick.”

Chatter-(People)

“Pokemon cards are cool again.  Low-rise jeans are back.  There’s an Olsen sister on television-WHAT YEAR IS IT?  SOMEONE HELP ME.”-Conan O’Brien, on previous decades’ trends making a comeback.

“I would give anything to talk to Beyonce.”-Drew Barrymore, on her dream talk show guest.

“If you didn’t want to talk about it, I’d give you 48 hours and I’d show up at your house.”-Halle Berry, on how she deals with ghosting.

Winner of the Week-(In Touch)

Aaron Rodgers

The NFL star donates $1 million to small businesses in his California hometown-and gets thanked by Jodie Foster in her Golden Globes speech.  (She’s a huge fan!)

STUPID NEWS

Baby Roo Caught In New York

A baby kangaroo that escaped from a New York farm employee’s home was found by a sheriff’s deputy after a night on the loose.  The Yates County Sheriff’s Office said the female joey, named Kaia, was captured by Deputy Sheriff Scott Walker about a mile away from where she had escaped from the home of a Stokoe Farms employee.  Stokoe Farms said Kaia had been taken home for the weekend by the employee because the young marsupial requires round-the-clock care, and the kangaroo managed to escape when the handler took the animal with her to visit family members in Yates County.  The sheriff’s office said Kaia got loose Saturday, and more than 40 volunteers joined in the search before Kaia was safely located in Jerusalem on Sunday. Deputies said the animal did not appear to be injured.

Man Catches Huge Carp

Wildlife officials in Missouri said a man fishing for catfish in the Osage River was surprised to reel in a massive black carp instead.  The Missouri Department of Conservation said Jesse Hughes, of Bonnots Mill, Osage County, was fishing for catfish with friends when he caught something big.  “We hooked into it and knew it was something big, but I originally thought it was a catfish,” Hughes said. “It was the first I’d heard of a black carp. I didn’t know anything about it, so this has been quite the learning experience.”  Hughes’ black carp weighed in at a staggering 112 pounds.  The Missouri Department of Conservation lists black carp as a prohibited species, as the fish are not native to the state and pose a danger to the local population of mollusks, including some critically endangered species.  The department asks anyone who catches a black carp in the state’s rivers to alert authorities. The fish have been found in Missouri before, and in 1994, about 30 black carp entered the Osage River after escaping from a fish farm during a high-water event.
********One thing’s for sure… at 112 pounds, the black carp are NOT starving!!

TOPIC: Biggest fish you’ve ever caught!! And be honest!!!

Beer Keg Catapult Record

A California brewery broke a Guinness World Record when they used a catapult to launch a keg a distance of 438 feet.  The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company said it took on the Guinness record for the farthest distance thrown by a trebuchet, a type of catapult that features an extra long arm, and they selected a “Big Little Thing” keg to comply with the record’s requirement that the projectile weigh at least 44 pounds.  “They are not full of any beer,” said Terance Sullivan, brand manager and official lever-puller for the trebuchet, told KHSL-TL. “We didn’t want to sacrifice any beer. Beer is for drinking so we loaded them up with water.”  Officials said the company wanted to do something big to celebrate the release of the Big Little Thing IPA.  “When we launch a beer we have live sampling or bring the beer to music festivals and other events,” Sierra Nevada communications director Robin Gregory said. “But obviously with COVID, we can’t do that.”  See the video HERE.
********Now they need to put a beer drinker on the catapult and launch THEM!!
*******When the keg landed, it killed a six pack!!
*******Next week, they’ll launch 44 pounds of Solo cups!!!

Deadbeat Tenant Blames COVID

A Brooklyn homeowner unable to evict an allegedly deadbeat tenant because of new state housing laws claims she has been forced to live in her car for weeks.  Shawna Eccles says in court papers she sleeps on the couches of friends and relatives whenever she can, and in her four-door Toyota when she can’t, after fighting and failing for months to evict Sharita Patterson, 33, from the two-family home in Carnarsie.  “There is no one I can stay with until I am able to evict, and all of my money covers the mortgage, water bill and property taxes,” Eccles told The Post. “If anything gets cut off, it will be considered an illegal eviction. I have no additional funds to rent an apartment.”  Thanks to the state’s pandemic-inspired eviction moratorium and recently enacted housing regulations, Patterson has until at least May 1 before any New York housing court would even consider a case against her.  That’s because she checked a box on a “hardship declaration” form, claiming she’s been financially impacted by COVID-19 and is unable to move. Under the new rules, New Yorkers had until Feb. 26 to fill out the form, which automatically pauses their evictions.  Patterson, who allegedly owes $14,700 in back rent on the two-bedroom pad, bought a new car during the pandemic, according to court papers.
*******Still want to be a landlord???
****Rule of thumb: the bad things that happen in life?? Are ten times worse in New York!!
******There’s gotta be a way we can blame this on Cuomo!!
