Pete Davidson Crashes Car Into Home

Pete Davidson and his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, crashed their car into a Beverly Hills home Saturday night.  He had been driving a Mercedes-Benz “at a high rate of speed” around 11 p.m. when he jumped a curb in the Flats neighborhood, TMZ reported.  He reportedly also hit a fire hydrant and skidded across the front lawn before slamming into the corner of the house.  The siding on one corner of the home was broken and pushed inward, according to photos of the damage obtained by TMZ.  Both Davidson, 29, and Wonders, 26, walked away unharmed.
*********Of course, they weren’t arrested!! He’s a CELEBRITY!!!

Worst Celebrity Wax Museum

A Polish wax museum is being melted online over astonishingly bad facsimiles of Prince William and Kate Middleton — with users comparing the prince to “Hugh Grant after 20 Jagerbombs.” While the figures have been around for some time, they recently came to light via a TikTok showcase with more than 13.5 million views.  “Come with me to the worst wax museum in Poland,” invites influencer Becka Blackburn in the clip.  For the uninitiated, the Krakow Wax Museum — which boasts a measly 2.5 stars out of five on TripAdvisor — has become an international laughingstock for its dodgy celebrity wax figures, which are notorious for looking nothing like their subject matter. Highlights depicted in the video include a cock-eyed Donald Trump, a jaundiced Jack Sparrow and a David Guetta that looks more like the DJ and producer’s Cro-Magnon ancestor.  However, none hold a candle to the botched doppelgängers of Prince William and his wife, Kate.  Their less-than-flattering wax “look-a-likes” depict Middleton boasting a preternaturally large forehead and brown hair. While her other half did sport the requisite red ceremonial uniform, his face was very different from the real Duke of Cambridge.  See the video HERE.
******Weirdly, they all look perfect after a few cocktails!!!
*****Part of the problem: the sculptures were made from ear wax!!

Adele Signs Fan’s Wedding Dress

Adele gave two lucky fans a wedding gift to remember during her Las Vegas residency on Saturday, when she autographed a bride’s gown mid-show.  During the Weekends with Adele gig, newly married couple Gaby and Evan showed up dressed in their wedding attire, which Adele quickly took notice of while walking by. “Did you just get married?” Adele asks the couple in the video shared online by the bride. “You got married today? Congratulations!”  Adele approached the pair while performing “When We Were Young,” which is when the groom pulled out a marker for her to autograph his new bride’s dress.  “Weekends with Adele” Gaby captioned a clip of the moment on Instagram. “My world is made- found the love of my life and this man was determined to have Adele sing at our wedding… 7 years later all our dreams came true. Thank you Adele for creating the memory of a lifetime for us.”  The groom also shared his excitement on his own Instagram, asking the singer to “please excuse my clammy hands” in a caption of the clip.  See the video HERE.
*******Adele sent them a bill for $1 million!! Singing at a wedding ain’t cheap!!

Jeff Bezos Finishes New Superyacht

Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht Koru, codenamed Y721, is finally seaworthy — spotted in the North Sea after leaving Rotterdam on Feb. 13, footage posted by the organization Dutch Yachting shows.  The 417-foot vessel’s test run came months after it was originally set to be delivered to him.  It requires a 250-foot support vessel that houses a helicopter landing pad for him.  Bezos’ mega boat created controversy last year after a report that Dutch officials would have to dismantle the historic Koningshaven Bridge because the 130-foot steel structure wouldn’t allow the vessel and its 229-foot masts to pass through.  Koru costs about $25 million a year to run. The pleasure boat can accommodate 18 guests — and requires a crew of 40 sailors.
*********Meanwhile, we’re saving up for a Bass Fishing Boat.. which we’ll buy from Amazon, of course!!!

Sheep Hitches A Ride On The Bus

A sheep spotted wandering loose on a British highway was given a lift back to its owner by a concerned bus driver on her first day on the job.  Brighton & Hove Buses said driver Martine Patey was en route to Eastbourne for her first Rail Replacement bus duty Sunday morning when she spotted a sheep running loose on the A27 highway.  Patey pulled over and joined with other drivers attempting to capture the loose animal.  “The sheep was running all over the road,” Martine said in a news release. “It was difficult to catch, but then it slipped just in front of me and I was able to get hold of it and to use my handbag strap like a lasso. Two other motorists had stopped to help and together we were able to hold onto it until the police arrived.”  Police asked Martine to give the sheep a lift to a local farm, but she said it was only a short drive before the farmer arrived with his truck and took custody of the sheep.
********When the owner showed up, she had a sheepish expression!!
****It was a wild and wooly situation!!!

Oldest TV Director

A 91-year-old Thai man was dubbed the world’s oldest TV director by Guinness World Records after completing his most recent project.  Chalong Pakdeevijit, a film and TV director known as the “King of Action” in Thailand, became the world’s oldest TV director when his 18-episode miniseries, Skyraider, completed airing last year, Guinness World Records announced.  Pakdeevijit, born March 18, 1931, began his film career as a cameraman in 1950, and directed his first movie, Jao Insee, in 1968. The director gained prominence in the 1970s with his Thong series of action films.  Pakdeevijit’s father was a film director and producer, and all of his brothers also work in the film industry, he said.  Pakdeevijit is currently working on his next TV miniseries, titled Kan Song Pandin.

Florida Man Attacked By Gator At His Front Door

A Florida man was attacked by an alligator after opening his front door Saturday night, according to a report.  Daytona Beach resident Scott Hollingsworth told WESH that he heard a noise outside his home around 9:42 p.m., and when he stepped outside, “something grabbed me on the leg, started shaking violently.”  He added that he didn’t turn on a light, so he didn’t get a good look at his assailant, but told the station that he initially thought it was a dog.  “I stepped back into the house and closed the door,” Hollingsworth said.   When he looked down, he saw that he “had a large gash in the side of my leg.”   The reptile was euthanized by an agency trapper.
*********At least they didn’t “return him to the wild!!!”
TIP: If you’re in Florida and hear a noise outside, LOOK before you step out!!!

The 5 Types Of Influential People You Should Always Befriend At Work

HUFFINGTON POST

  1. The Veterans

These are the long-timers who have outlasted chaotic pivots and turbulent layoffs. They are historians who hold key institutional knowledge about how processes came to be and where there is wiggle room for change. Their expertise can be invaluable, especially when you are new to an organization.  Ng described veterans as “people who’ve worked in the organization the longest — and who can help you learn how to effectively navigate the system based on what has and hasn’t worked before.”

Lawrese Brown, the founder of workplace education company C-Track Training, noted that veterans are valuable because they have worked at the company long enough to understand what leadership cares about.  “If you have an organization where people tend to churn out after a year and then you have someone who has been there three years, they’ll be able to [tell] you: ‘Listen, this is what causes a fire here. This is what actually constitutes urgency, or something that needs to be handled immediately,’” she said.

  1. The Socialites

If there’s a happy hour, socialites are there. These are the co-workers who seem to know everyone and are seemingly everywhere.  Ng described socialites as “people who are known and respected around the organization — and who can introduce you to the right people and shape others’ perceptions of you.”  Keep in mind that socialites want people to get along, so do not expect them to be confrontational on your behalf, Brown said.  “Their influence is in getting other people to address obstacles for them so they can keep their reputation,” she said. “They are going to be very good at telling you how to get things done without addressing it head-on: ‘Well if you talk to this person, then they’ll mention it in this way. If you bring it up to this person, they’ll put it in the meeting.’”  Their connections can carry them far.  ”The people who are well liked at work have social pull — even if they’re not in a leadership position, people will show up to their events and be interested in their take on important decisions,” said Lauren Appio, a psychologist, executive coach and consultant. “They are often top of mind for professional opportunities inside and outside of the organization and are likely to be well networked themselves.“

You’ll want to befriend them so their star power can pass down to you. That’s because these popular colleagues “also may be given more latitude to ‘ask for forgiveness, not permission,’ which may allow them to be more bold or creative in how they approach their work,” Appio said. “Working on projects with well-liked people can give you access to some of that latitude as well.”

  1. The Gatekeepers

Gatekeepers are an example of how influence can be subtle. Ng said gatekeepers in the office are often assistants “who work closely with the senior leaders — and who can influence whether you get to meet with them and how they perceive you.”  Gatekeepers can help you get on a senior leader’s calendar right away, or they can keep you waiting for weeks. You want to get them on your side.  “They know the factors that will get you the ‘yes’ and get you the signature for the resources for it,” Brown said.

  1. The Politicians

Politicians understand that doing the job alone is not enough to climb the company ladder. They are experts at navigating office politics as confident strategists who speak up to make their achievements known and visible to decision-makers.  “They are very motivated by power. They know that in order to get power, you have to be visible to power,” Brown said.

If you want to rise up the ranks, you could learn from how they play the game. “Their influence comes through their ability to understand how sponsorship is gained,” Brown said. “They know how to get promoted. They know how to get put on a path for the next title.”  In befriending a politician colleague, Brown said you may want to make clear how they will benefit in the short term from your relationship or collaboration.  “If you’re talking to a politician, pay attention to the transaction, because that’s really what it is,” she said. “Politicians don’t tend to play long-term relationships unless it’s somebody way, way above them.”

  1. The Mediators

Mediators have a gift for problem-solving. Often, senior colleagues go to mediators when there are impasses because they know they will get something that can be rare in a dysfunctional workplace: fairness.  Brown described mediators as the people colleagues trust to hear them out and be objective about a situation.  “They’re principled in some way. They’re not just going to tell you what you want to hear,” Brown said. ”These are people who are like, ‘Hate to give you a hard [pill] … to swallow, but you don’t have documentational evidence, so we can’t do anything about it.’ They’re going to tell you the reality of how something goes in people’s favor or against.”
