The Batman Scores At The Box Office
The Batman — starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz — is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $128.5 million in receipts this weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday. Coming in at No. 2 is Uncharted with $11 million, followed by Dog at No. 3 with $6 million, Spider-Man: No Way Home at No. 4 with $4.4 million and Death on the Nile at No. 5 with $2.7 million. Rounding out the top tier are Sing 2 at No. 6 with $1.5 million, Jackass Forever at No. 7 with $1.4 million, Cyrano at No. 8 with $684,000, Gangubai Kathiawadi at No. 9 with $592,000 and Scream at No. 10 with $570,000.

Bill Cosby’s Case Won’t Be Touched
The Supreme Court is leaving in place a decision made by Pennsylvania’s highest court that led to Bill Cosby’s release from prison. The high court declined prosecutors’ request to hear the case and reinstate Cosby’s conviction. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court last year threw out Cosby’s conviction, saying the prosecutor who brought the case was bound by his predecessor’s agreement not to charge Cosby. The Court did not give any explanation for the decision not to hear the case. Cosby’s case was included in a long list of cases the Supreme Court would not hear released Monday. He became the first celebrity convicted of sexual assault in the #MeToo era when a jury in 2018 found him guilty of drugging and molesting Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2004. A jury had previously deadlocked in Cosby’s case, resulting in a mistrial in 2017. Cosby was originally sentenced to three to 10 years in prison in 2018. However, his conviction was overturned in 2021.

Netflix Cuts Off Russia
Netflix has suspended its service in Russia following the country’s invasion of Ukraine. “Given the circumstances on the ground, we have decided to suspend our service in Russia,” a Netflix spokesperson said. The move comes after the streaming service, which first launched in the country in 2016, previously paused all future projects and acquisitions from Russia. Variety reported that Netflix had four originals in the work, one of which was filming but has now been put on hold. Per the outlet, Netflix also refused to carry free-to-air propaganda channels required under Russian media laws. In addition to Netflix, major players in Hollywood have taken swift action to also condemn President Vladimir Putin’s actions.

Starbucks Settling The Kanye and Pete Davidson Feud
A viral TikTok showed Starbucks workers using the one-sided fight over Kim Kardashian to rack up more money with Kanye West or Pete Davidson tip jars. TikTok user @dejapoo00 shared a video going through the Starbucks drive-thru where the labeled tip jars were left out. She leaves her money in the Davidson jar, which has several dollar bills inside, versus the West jar which only has some change. The video has amassed 6.6 million views with the top comments all expressing their support for Davidson. “Puts entire bank acct on Pete,” Leenah replied. “Pete all day, every day,” Zoey Grafil said. The Queen Has In-Person Meeting
The Queen returned to work on Monday, participating in her first in-person engagement since she was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Feb. 20th. She looked to be in good spirits as she met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Windsor Castle, where she has been recovering. An arrangement of blue-and-yellow flowers, the Ukrainian national colors, is notably prominent in photos of the meeting. It all comes a little more than a week after the Queen met up with Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — at Frogmore House, which is on the grounds of Windsor Castle, the Daily Mail reported. Princess Beatrice and her 5-month-old daughter Sienna were also there for the visit.

Alex Baldwin Says “Rust” Lawsuits Are Going After The Rich
Alec Baldwin has spoken again on the ongoing investigation and lawsuits surrounding the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust,” claiming the lawsuits are being filed against the wrong people in an interview at the Boulder International Film Festival on Saturday. “What you have is a certain group of people, litigants and whatever, on whatever side, who their attitude is, ‘Well, the people who likely seem negligent have no money and the people who have money are not negligent,’” said Baldwin, as reported by CNN. Baldwin did not specify which of the lawsuits related to Hutchins’ death he was referring to in his statement. On February 15, Hutchins’ family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Baldwin and multiple other defendants, including the producers and production companies of “Rust”; assistant director Dave Halls, who handed Baldwin the firearm that shot Hutchins; firearm supplier Seth Kenney and the production’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and prop master Sarah Zachry. Other “Rust” lawsuits filed include one by the production’s main medic Cheryln Schaefer filed suit last month against the film’s producers as well as Halls, Zachry, Gutierrez-Reed and Kenney claiming lost wages and emotional trauma. Gutierrez-Reed also has filed her own lawsuit against Kenney.

Leopard Wanders Into City
Wildlife officials in India said a leopard was tranquilized and will be relocated after wandering into a city and entering an occupied home. Officials with the Meerut Forest Department said the leopard was spotted Friday morning in the Pallavpuram area of Meerut. The leopard then entered a home in which the family barricaded themselves in another room while waiting for assistance. Forest Department officials were able to ensnare the leopard in a net, but the big cat escaped and was caught on camera running down a street alongside pedestrians. Rescuers said the leopard was tranquilized after about eight hours on the loose in the city.

Man Crushed Inside Porta-Potty
A Florida man has been crushed to death by a bulldozer while he was using a porta-potty, authorities said. Aaron Henderson, 43, was killed on Friday afternoon at the North Central Landfill in Polk County where he worked as a traffic controller, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said. The freak accident unfolded as employees were putting away equipment and preparing to shut down the site for the day. The bulldozer operator had been driving his rig up an embankment at the time, but his view was partially blocked by the machinery’s elevated blade. As the driver reached level ground and turned the bulldozer, he heard a loud crumble and realized he had plowed over the porta-potty. “He immediately exited the bulldozer and ran towards the porta-potty to see if anyone was inside of it,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “At that time, he observed Henderson unresponsive inside the porta-potty.” The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Real Bat Interrupts “The Batman”
Moviegoers in Austin, Texas, got to see more than one type of bat during a screening of “The Batman” this weekend. An actual bat was spotted swooping around inside the theater, putting the movie on pause while management called animal control and tried — unsuccessfully — to get the critter out, KXAN reported Friday. Guests were offered their money back, but most chose to stick it out and watch the film “bat and all,” according to one moviegoer. The Moviehouse & Eatery by Cinépolis says the bat was likely released into the theater as a prank. The theater’s general manager Heidi Deno said they will be “adding additional security and checking all bags upon guest entry.”

Ice Fishermen Get Blown Away
Three fishermen are safe after a homemade ice-fishing shack was blown about a mile across a bay in Michigan by winds that neared 50 mph, authorities said. A person onshore called Huron County dispatchers about 8 a.m. Sunday after seeing someone struggling with the shanty as it was being blown across the ice on Saginaw Bay off McKinley Township, Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson said in a news release. The shanty, which had been occupied by three men, was about 1.5 miles offshore when deputies arrived. Hanson said a fire department airboat was taken to the site for a rescue, but the three men eventually were able to make it across the ice to shore on their own. The men refused medical treatment. They told deputies that they spent Saturday night on the ice in the shanty and were aware of an approaching storm, but apparently took for granted the power of the winds, Hanson said.

10 Surprising Uses for Windex That Go Beyond Cleaning Glass

- Moving Large Pieces of Furniture
Los Angeles-based interior designer John Linden uses Windex to slide large items that are stuck or too heavy to move.
“All we need to do is to spritz some in front of the objects we want to move before pushing the item,” Linden says. He’s then able to easily move that piece of furniture to its place.
As long as you use the ammonia-free version of Windex, you can use it on any type of flooring, including hardwood.
- Cleaning Carpets and Upholstered Furniture
You thought Windex only worked on glass? Linden says he’ll often spray Windex onto small stains, leaving it for 20 minutes to soak. Then he wipes right off the furniture.
Make sure to use the clear formula for this, as the blue formula may leave its own stains.
- Insect Repellant
The smell of ammonia is strongly disliked by many insects, says Andrew Barker, founder of Homeowner Costs. As a result, Barker suggests spraying Windex by opening windows and doors to keep bugs at bay.
- Clean Your Car
Windex is also a great cleanser for cars, says Deidre Fisher, owner of Simply Bliss Cleaning in Salt Lake City, Utah. Use it on window and mirror smudges, on dashboards, the steering wheel and any plastic and leather surface.
It’s also great for cleaning the screens and dials. “I just recommend spraying the cloth first and not the electronics directly,” Fisher says.
- Washing Makeup Brushes
Makeup artist and lifestyle blogger Kerrin Jackson has been using Windex to clean her brushes and airbrush parts for more than a decade.
“They make light work of breaking down the alcohol-based makeups and heavy-duty body makeup products that can sometimes be stubborn and difficult to clean from the inner workings of the airbrush parts,” Jackson says.
- De-greasing Your Kitchen
Use Windex on your exhaust fans and range hoods in your kitchen, suggests Diana Rodriguez-Zaba, president of ServiceMaster Restoration by Zaba, a cleaning company in Chicago.
Rodriguez-Zaba suggests spraying Windex on the surfaces and letting it stand for 5-10 minutes, then wiping it clean and rinsing with water to remove any remaining chemical residue.
- Cleaning Your TV Screen
Got a dusty TV? Dust is usually very prevalent on televisions because everyone is scared to clean them. But spray some Windex on a soft cloth and you’re good to go, says Abe Navas, general manager of Emily’s Maids, a house cleaning service in Dallas.
- Removing Stains From Clothing
It works well for red wine, tomato sauce, ketchup and more, says Jen Stark, founder of Happy DIY Home, a gardening and home improvement blog.
“You can lightly spray the stain with Windex and let it sit for 15 minutes, as long as the clothing item isn’t a delicate silk,” Stark said. “Get a clean cloth and blot at the stain before rinsing it in cold water.”
Follow this by washing the clothing as recommended. Make sure you use clear Windex for this task.
- Cleaning Patio Furniture and Outdoor Surfaces
Benjamin Nguyen, owner of Full Color Cleaners, says he uses Windex to clean his patio furniture, making it look as good as new. It will clean everything from the furniture to outdoor surfaces, including brick.
For this task, go the extra mile and snag the Windex Outdoor Concentrated Cleaner, which is a 32-ounce spray bottle that attaches onto a hose ($27.66). Spray onto your aluminum siding, your brick, your windows — and with this tool, you won’t even need a ladder to do it.
- Making Jewelry Sparkle
To get rid of everyday grime from a diamond ring, The Knot recommends soaking it for 10 to 15 minutes in a 50-50 solution of hydrogen peroxide and Windex. After it’s soaked, brush gently with a soft toothbrush and then rinse with water.
Windex is safe for gold and silver but could be harmful to soft gemstones because of its ammonia content. That means don’t use it on turquoise, emeralds, opals, coral, pearls or amber.
