Drake Makes Bank On Sports Bets

Rapper Drake cashed in for more than $2.6 million on a three-leg sports bet parlay that involved the Stanley Cup and NBA playoffs, he announced Monday on Instagram  “Wow, Game 7 lay lay by yours truly,” Drake wrote on a screenshot of the bets posted to his Instagram story.  He placed the wagers on Stake.com, a crypto casino and sports betting platform with which he also has a partnership.  Drake bet $308,832.62 on two separate Stanley Cup playoffs Game 7 matchups and Game 7 of the NBA series between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks.  He correctly picked the New York Rangers beating the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Calgary Flames beating the Dallas Stars. He also picked the Mavericks to upset the top-seeded Suns.  Drake, a frequent sports bettor, lost $550,000 two weeks ago when he bet that Justin Gaethje would beat Charles Oliveira in UFC 274. He lost $275,000 in March in another UFC fight between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.  He also wagered $1.26 million and cashed out for more than $2 million in February for several bets on Super Bowl LVI.

Amber Heard Blames Dog For Pooping In Bed

Amber Heard blamed the infamous defecation incident on Johnny Depp’s yorkie Boo.  Depp had stormed out of their apartment morning after another blow up over him not showing up on time for her 30th birthday dinner. She told jurors he violently attacked her and sexually assaulted her during the April 2016 altercation.  She left Boo in her bed while she and her friend packed for their trip to Coachella.  “[Boo] had eaten Johnny’s weed when she was a puppy and had bowel control issues,” Heard told jurors. “We regularly had to take her to the vet to figure out what was wrong with this dog.”  Boo sometimes had accidents on the floor and in their marital bed but she didn’t notice anything amiss that morning, Heard said.  After she and her friend left the apartment, a housekeeper found a sizable stool in the bed that Depp has described as so substantial it could only have come from a human.  “Did you commit any kind of prank?” asked the actress’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft.  “Absolutely not,” she replied. The question was in reference to testimony from Depp’s chauffeur, who said Heard admitted to him it was a “horrible prank gone wrong.”
*******Here’s what we get from this: She poops like a yorkie!!!
*****All in all, we’d prefer a horse’s head in our bed!!
*****They were taking the dog to the vet.. but they should’ve taken Amber!!

Wanda Sykes Still Not Forgetting Oscars Slap

Many are moving on from Will Smith’s spectacular slap of Chris Rock at the Oscars, but not Wanda Sykes.  She says she is “still traumatized” almost two months on from the incident.  Sykes made the admission in a new interview with People magazine, adding that she was appalled the actor wasn’t booted from the theater after the violent act.  “I can’t talk about it. I get emotional,” she stated. “I couldn’t believe he was still sitting there, like an a–hole. Shouldn’t you be sitting there with a lawyer or LAPD, motherf–ker?”  Sykes told the publication that she believes Smith acted out because he is struggling with personal issues — but she doesn’t have much sympathy.  “I hope he gets his s–t together. Until then, f–k him,” she bluntly declared.
*******The Oscar slap? That seems like years ago!!!
*********The Oscar slap is the biggest thing that’s happened to her career in forever!!

What Did Megan Fox Do To Her Dress?

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly won’t let anything get in the way of them hooking up — not even designer duds, as the actress revealed.  Sharing a slideshow of images from the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, Fox, 36, included a screenshot of a text conversation with her stylist, Maeve Reilly.  “Was this blue outfit expensive because we just cut a hole in the crotch so we could have sex,” she told Reilly, referencing the plunging embellished catsuit she modeled earlier that day.  Her stylist responded, “I hate you,” along with three laughing emojis.  “I’ll fix it,” she added.  Hundreds of fans jumped into the comments section, surprised that Fox shared the TMI tale.  “Everything I know about this relationship has been completely against my will,” one follower joked.

Jason Momoa Dating Eiza Gonzalez

Jason Momoa is dating Eiza González after his breakup with estranged wife Lisa Bonet, People reported Saturday.  They met on the set of “Fast X” and are said to be happy together.  “They are dating. He cares about her. He’s in a great place, working on ‘Fast X’,” an insider shared with the magazine.  “He’s quite busy, and he’s in a good place.”  Meanwhile, a source close to both of them told People that “they’re both busy with work but are having fun together,” adding, “It’s nothing serious yet.”  Momoa was spotted at the premiere of González’s new film, “Ambulance,” in early April, though they did not walk the red carpet together.  He and “Cosby Show” alum Lisa Bonet revealed in January that they were parting ways.  “The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived,” they shared in a joint statement posted to social media. “We free each other to be who we are learning to become.”

Birthday Card Turns Into Lottery Win

An unidentified woman from Bateau Bay, Australia, has won $1.3 million from a lottery ticket she bought after stopping to get a birthday card for a friend.  The woman had one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday’s lotto draw. Each winning entry is worth $1.3 million.  The winning numbers were 20, 27, 35, 39, 25 and 15, with 9 and 21 as the supplementary numbers.  The woman told lottery officials at The Lott that she checked her ticket after seeing on Facebook that someone local had purchased a winning ticket.  “It feels like this win was almost meant to be. I was just out at the shops getting a card for my friend’s birthday when I bought this ticket. If I wasn’t buying the card, I wouldn’t have purchased the Saturday lotto ticket. It’s crazy!” the woman said.  “My husband will retire and I’d love to treat myself a bit. It’s come at the perfect time. This win means we can completely rewrite our retirement plans, which is amazing,” she continued about what she will do with the winnings.

Florida Man Caught Golfing On The Highway

A pair of Southwest Florida ‘vloggers’ driving down Interstate 75 captured a golf practice gone wrong on the side of the road.  Jose and Katherine Rodriguez live in Fort Myers but travel around the country documenting the everyday for their YouTube channel, “SouthernLife.”   The duo was driving down the interstate Friday afternoon during rush hour when their dash cam captured something they haven’t seen before on the side of the road.  “We see this guy on the side of the road literally having a full golf game,” Jose says. “This is like Tiger Woods junior out there, he was doing his thing.”   The dash cam video shows a car pulled to the side of the road and a man in a black polo taking practice swings in the grass just off the interstate.  Rodriguez says the rogue golfer wasn’t just taking practice swings, he was connecting, hitting golf balls near the interstate.
********Why?? Because!!! FLORIDA!!!
*******He and his wife had a ritual… she’d wash his balls, and that would straighten his putter!!

Car Stuffed In U-Haul Truck

A Washington state trooper made a surprising discovery jammed inside the back of a U-Haul truck during a traffic stop last week.   Trooper Cunningham pulled over a driver hauling a car that was partially hanging out the back of the truck on Highway 97 north of Okanogan, Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant tweeted Monday.  “I suppose it’s moving season,” Bryant said.  Photos of the unusual scene show that a single packing strap was securing the car inside the back of the truck.  The driver, who wasn’t identified, was cited for failing to secure a load and fined $139, KXLY reported.  Since the driver didn’t have a valid license and the rented U-Haul was overdue for return, both vehicles were impounded, according to the station.  See the pic HERE.
*********You can’t fix stupid!!
*******He was cited for doing something “even a redneck wouldn’t do!!”

Kid Brings Cannabis Skittles To School

A fourth-grade student at a California elementary school shared cannabis-infused candies with other students while at school, officials revealed.   “The cannabis candy was in a package that resembled Skittles,” the Twin Rivers Unified School District explained in a statement.  The unidentified student shared the candy with others during recess earlier this week at Michael J. Castori Elementary School.  Several students reportedly ate the weed-infused candies.   “We find this whole situation distressing—edible marijuana products in packages that resemble popular brands of candy,” school district officials said.   The parents of the student who shared the candy have been contacted, and an investigation into what happened was ongoing.

The 7 Personalities Of Bad Bosses Who Think They’re Good Bosses

Huffington Post

1) The Rescuer

A rescuer boss will swoop in and take over their direct reports’ projects — but this stifles growth.

This is a bad boss who may seem like a good boss at first. If you have any trouble with a project, they’ll just take over. Any conflict with a client, they’ll deal with it for you.

Consultant Peter Block identified this work archetype as the “rescuer” in his book “The Empowered Manager: Positive Political Skills at Work.” According to Block, the rescuer is someone who is highly sensitive to discomfort and believes “the path to power, influence and gaining some control over the situation is to save other people’s lives.”

Brown said rescuers come from a place of thinking they’re protecting you from failure, and are bad at giving you honest feedback and more responsibilities as a result.

“When you have a rescuer, they pride themselves on being there to support you, so you really don’t have any space not only to make mistakes, but you also have a limited amount of growth,” Brown said. “Because part of rescuing, or being helpful, is a control mechanism for them.”

2) The Politician

The “politician” boss is great at doing publicity relations for your team, but fails at actually managing you.

The “politician” is good at managing the bosses above them and terrible at managing the people who report directly to them. They are good at public relations for your team, but they lack the will or the skill to be a good team leader.

“The executive team thinks your team is doing a good job, your projects get lauded at company all-hands… but actually this manager is never meeting with you, never giving helpful feedback, or even at all actually involved in the day-to-day,” said Lara Hogan, author of “Resilient Management” and a former vice president of engineering at Kickstarter.

Hogan said this kind of boss can cause bigger issues down the road, because they tend not to find out about team problems that should have been addressed or raised earlier. “Long-term, it often ends in disaster, because this person never did their first responsibility, which is managing the team,” Hogan said.

Her advice if you’re an employee of this kind of boss? Make sure that you build relationships with your manager’s peers, or other people in positions of power, and go to them for feedback and support. The goal is for more people to know what a great job you’re doing. “Spread the surface area of how you’re being managed,” Hogan advised.

3) The Great Manager Who Can’t Manage Up

A boss who is personally great to you, but cannot advocate on your team’s behalf, is a bad boss.

This is a boss who is great at managing their own team, but is bad at dealing with the bosses above them. They believe in your work, but they lack the office-politics savvy to make sure others in positions of power do, too.

“They listen to you, they are completely involved in your work in a positive way, you trust them, they trust you,” Hogan said. “And then you realize nobody at the upper level has any idea what your team is doing, and you lose headcount. Your road map doesn’t get prioritized, you might get [reorganized].”  Because this boss is bad at lobbying on your team’s behalf, your team might lose out on valuable funding ― and team members might not get promotions or raises they deserve, since there’s usually more than one person who has a say in who gets these career rewards, Hogan said.

4) The People-Pleaser

You may sometimes benefit from a people-pleasing boss’ attempts to sway you to their side, but ultimately this manager is a hazard to work for. They believe getting ahead means giving others what they want, even when accountability is needed to maintain trust on a team.

They’ll make many verbal commitments, but they won’t follow through to make a tangible difference. “The people pleasers I’ve worked with never actually do anything, because it’s all words,” Hogan said.

Managers who get too invested in “being nice” are bosses who rule by “ruinous empathy,” as Kim Scott writes in “Radical Candor: Be a Kick-Ass Boss Without Losing Your Humanity.” Per Scott, these bosses “create the kind of work environment where ‘being nice’ is prioritized at the expense of critiquing, and therefore, improving actual performance.” Without necessary criticism, your career is likely to stall and you may even get fired.

5) The Numbers Boss

A “numbers boss” becomes an ineffective leader when every insight and decision has to be backed by data or a pattern.

If you need numbers to make every decision, you cannot make long-term plans. “I’ve worked with managers who require that every single thing be an A/B test, whether or not it makes sense ― to the point where no work could get done, because everything needed an experiment to come back,” Hogan said. “The person who is obsessed with data […] doesn’t have a long-term plan. Everything is short-term, numbers-based decisions, which means you never end up with a vision.”

Creativity can also be a weakness for numbers people. As Brown put it: “They’ll say they want creativity, but how are you supposed to have creativity if everything you do has to be proven?”

6) The Lone Wolf

In her e-book “How To Be A Successful First Time Manager: Identify Your Leadership Style, Lay The Groundwork for a Positive Team Culture, and Give Better Feedback,” Brown writes that “lone wolf” bosses are known for their deep need for autonomy, are easily misunderstood and have limited and cordial interactions with others.

Brown says the benefit of working under a lone wolf is that they have a strong work ethic and they value assertiveness in team members. She said they often thrive at startups where succeeding means taking on multiple roles at once.

But the downside is that this rebel boss often changes plans at the last minute, creating tension on their teams. “What makes them toxic is everyone will get together in a team and make a decision, and the lone wolf later on will be like, ‘No, I’m going to [do] this.’”

7) The Know-It-All

While numbers people want you to make all decisions based on data, know-it-alls want you to make decisions based on just their knowledge. They often give feedback like “Well if I were you, I would have done it like this,” or “Well, it only took me three months,” Brown said. Know-it-alls are unable to account for times when their information is limited or outdated.

On some level, what the know-it-all wants is a clone who works and thinks exactly as they do. They want you to develop your career how they did it.

“They are people who you constantly feel like you’re in comparison mode with, but you don’t feel like they are accounting for the fact that, one, you are not them, and two, that the circumstances and environment may be different,” Brown said. “You always feel like you fall short because you’re not doing it their way.”
