Kim Kardashian Jokes About Her Failed Marriages
Kim Kardashian roasted herself and her past failed marriages while giving a toast in celebration of her good friend’s wedding. She had a busy weekend, first attending Paris Hilton’s ceremony on Thursday before pivoting Friday night to a pre-wedding celebration for a friend Simon Huck and his fiance, Phil Riportella. She was asked to give a speech where she wasn’t shy about mentioning that she’s hardly the right person to be giving marriage advice now that she’s in the midst of her third split. “It’s honestly so nice to be here for a gay wedding,” she began in footage shared to attendee Tracy Romulus’ Instagram Story. “I mean, I haven’t been to one since my second wedding.” The line prompted uproarious laughs and applause from the crowd. After being married to Damon Thomas from 2000 – 2004, years before she hit her fame stride with “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” Kim married her second husband, Kris Humphries, in 2011. However, they separated after just 72 days. Most of the marriage was captured on their reality TV show. She continued by noting that she doesn’t necessarily have a lot to say about making a marriage work. After Humphries, Kim married Kanye West in 2014, but they announced the end of their marriage earlier this year. “When Simon asked me to talk tonight, I was a little bit confused because I haven’t really figured out this marriage thing myself, so I don’t know what kind of advice he thinks I’m going to give to you guys tonight,” she joked. “But, I will say I have learned a lot and I have some tips for you guys. Like aesthetically of what I think is super important.”

Elon Musk Sells His Final Home
Elon Musk has finally scored a buyer for the final home he owns nearly a month after it was listed for sale in San Francisco. The property went under contract on Saturday, Nov. 13 — a year-and-a-half after the billionaire vowed to unload his vast real estate portfolio to focus on his mission to colonize Mars. However, the contract is pending a contingent offer — meaning Musk, 50, has accepted an initial proposal, but certain conditions must be met, and in some cases he has the right to back out of the sale if he chooses. He initially listed the home “by owner” in July, so that any potential buyers would have to go through him directly to put in a bid. However, it seems that no one could get a hold of him, according to one insider, so the home stayed on the market for months. Musk initially purchased the 10-bedroom, 16,000-square-foot mansion with “unobstructed bay views” for $23.3 million in 2017. The home is currently listed $31.99 million after first hitting the market in the spring of 2020 for $35 million.

Couple Has Surprise Engagement At Adele’s Special
Adele helped a fan pop the question to his girlfriend in the most epic way possible during her recent show at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, which was a part of her CBS special, “Adele: One Night Only.” She sked the audience to be completely silent as one of her fans, Quentin, led his girlfriend, Ashley, onto the stage wearing a blindfold. When she removed the blindfold, Ashley was stunned to find herself in front of a crowd as Quentin got down on one knee. At that point, Adele was still hiding in the shadows on stage. “I want to thank you for being so patient with me … I am extremely proud of you and I mean every day, you blow my mind,” Quentin said, fighting back tears. “There’s absolutely nothing that you cannot do, and I just know that you’re going to be an amazing mother to our kids one day, and I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you, and I will continue to love you forever.” Just as he asked, “Will you marry me?”, the opening chords of Adele’s 2008 song “Make You Feel My Love” began playing, and Adele emerged from the shadows to perform the song for the newly engaged couple. Ashley sobbed as she accepted, and she was clearly in shock as Adele invited her and Quentin to enjoy the rest of the show from the front row, with seatmates including Lizzo and Melissa McCarthy.

Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Playing Lucille Ball
Nicole Kidman faced backlash after being cast as Lucille Ball in Aaron Sorkin’s biopic “Being The Ricardos.” She has now revealed she was terrified taking on the role of the iconic comedienne, after irate “I Love Lucy” fans argued that Debra Messing would have been a better choice. She made the claim during a Q&A in Los Angeles on Saturday night, following a preview screening of the film, which is set for general release on Dec. 10. “I had massive trepidation about a month prior, and Aaron had to get on the phone and send me emails saying, ‘You’ve got this,’” Kidman confessed, according to Variety. The “Big Little Lies” legend said Sorkin’s support helped her feel at ease in front of the camera, as she added: “It was frightening but incredibly exciting.” Meanwhile, Sorkin himself defended his controversial casting choices late last week, telling the Hollywood Reporter: “We made this movie during COVID, and so in Zooming with Nicole and [co-star] Javier Bardem and everyone else, I’d make it very clear to them that I am not looking for a physical or vocal impersonation of these people.”

What’s Next For Britney Spears?
Jodi Montgomery filed legal docs several days before Friday’s hearing that ended with the termination of Britney Spears’ 14-year-long conservatorship. Montgomery said in legal docs, she and others in Britney’s camp filed a “termination plan,” which includes guidelines “for supportive decision-making to help [Britney] adjust and transition to life outside of the conservatorship.” The plan contains sensitive medical information as well as information about Britney’s 2 kids. There is also information about Britney’s business interests and finances. Montgomery only wants to circulate the plan to the judge and Britney’s lawyer … but no one else. She says that limited distribution reflects Britney’s wishes. Montgomery says, “From the history of this case, it is no secret that Ms. Spears has had a contentious relationship with her family, especially her father, Mr. Spears.” She goes on, “Given the history of this case, it is clear that Ms. Spears does not want her medical or other privacy rights invaded by her father or any other party in this conservatorship case.” Sources say the plan involves Montgomery staying on board to help Britney with her personal needs, and a financial company is at the ready to help with money matters. And, as Britney said in court back in June, she wants to continue therapy.

Deer Crashes Thru Window
Police in Michigan said a deer that apparently “wanted to beat the Black Friday madness” crashed through the window of a wilderness decor store. The Walker Police Department said in a Facebook post that “Rudolph couldn’t wait for Christmas” and crashed through the window of the Wilderness Expressions store “to do a little holiday shopping.” “Our guess is he wanted to beat the Black Friday madness,” the post said. Officers arrived at the store and found the animal appropriately wandering in the “deer decor” section of the business. Police coaxed the deer back outside the store, and the animal was last seen heading into the nearby woods.

Lost Puffin!
Animal rescuers in Britain said they were summoned to a town 50 miles inland to capture an unusual visitor: a puffin. The Yorkshire Swan & Wildlife Rescue Hospital said in a Facebook post that the puffin was found by a veterinarian in Thorpe Audlin, a landlocked hamlet near Wakefield, England, that is 50 miles from the nearest coast. “After arrival at the sanctuary, the bird was warmed and dried through in an intensive care brooder, and will require feeding up,” the post said. The wildlife hospital said its highly unusual to find a puffin so far inland. The post said the bird must have been blown off-course during recent windstorms. “We are informed that this is only the second ever such record for the Wakefield District, the first being 135 years ago when a puffin was found in a similar state at Ardsley Reservoir,” the Facebook post said. See the pic HERE.

Major Road Hog!
Police were called to a South Carolina road to wrangle a loose pig that was so massive it broke its owner’s trailer. The York County Sheriff’s Office said two lanes of Old York Road had to be closed in the town of York on Thursday night when a huge hog was found wandering loose in the roadway. The sheriff’s office said on Twitter that deputies were able to round up the “road hog” and get into contact with the animal’s owner. The owner attempted to transport the sizable swine, named “Papa Pig,” to their home, but the trailer broke under the weight of the animal. The sheriff’s office brought in a horse trailer to give Papa Pig a lift home, officials said. See the pics HERE.

Man Uses Blowtorch To Remove Cobwebs
A Colorado man was arrested this week for setting his mom’s house on fire after using a blowtorch to clear cobwebs, the sheriff’s office said. Jon Charles Streckenbach was arrested on suspicion of first-degree arson, criminal mischief causing $20,000 to $100,000 in damages, possession of a controlled substance, and violation of a protection order, the Boulder Daily Camera reported. Fire authorities responded to a fire at a home in the 8800 block of Vermillion Road, north of Longmont just before 4:30 p.m. Monday. Fire personnel upon arriving could see smoke coming from the roof of the single-story, single-family residence, the Boulder County Sheriff’s office said in a press release. Investigators say the man acknowledged using a blowtorch to clear cobwebs in the crawlspace under the home, and he tried to put out the fire for an hour by himself before calling emergency crews. Authorities say the man also was in possession of a small bag of methamphetamine.

How to Get a Free Turkey This Year
The Penny Hoarder
- Acme Markets
Acme is giving away free turkeys when you clip the free turkey coupon in the Acme for U app.
Then, you’ll have to spend $300 or more while shopping in store through Nov. 25. After you’ve met that minimum spend, you can claim your free turkey at the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states chain.
- Foodtown
Foodtown locations in the Northeast are rewarding customers with free turkeys when they shop with their Club Card. You will need to spend $400 between October 29 and Thanksgiving Day.
An exception is made if you shop at locations in any of the following areas. When you shop here, your spending between October 22 and Thanksgiving day will count towards the $400 minimum spend:
- New Jersey
- New Hartford, Connecticut
- East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania
If you don’t want a frozen turkey, you can pick a free Stouffer’s lasagna (there is a vegetarian option) or a $10 store gift card instead.
- Giant
If you can bank 400 Giant Choice Reward e points by Nov. 25, you can redeem your points for a certificate for a free turkey. If turkey isn’t your thing, you can also redeem your certificate for a free Stouffer’s family-size lasagna or a free tofurky roast. You can also redeem your certificate for a free kosher turkey.
Certificates are good from Nov. 12 through Nov. 25.
- Hy-Vee
Purchase a Hormel Cure 81 ham during the month of November, and Hy-Vee will reward you with a free,10 to 14 pound Honeysuckle white turkey.
- ShopRite
Earn points on purchases through Nov. 25 — Thanksgiving Day — with your Price Plus club card.
Once you spend a certain amount (check your local store’s circular for the amount), present your Price Plus club card to the cashier to receive a free turkey, ham, turkey breast, kosher chicken, lasagna or tofurky.
You can pick up your free item any day up to and including Thanksgiving Day.
- Weis Market
If you’re part of Weis’s rewards program, your reward points could get you a Thanksgiving turkey for free.
It’s pretty simple: You earn one point for every dollar you spend, and it takes 400 points to receive a free turkey, tofurky, tofurkey ham or a Weis-brand frozen lasagna.
That might seem like a lot — and it is! — but it includes purchases now through Nov. 25. If you spend $50 per week on groceries and have been shopping at Weis each week since then, you’ll be more than covered by Thanksgiving.
It’s important to note that your points do have an expiration date, which is printed on the bottom of your receipts. You can claim your free turkey between Nov. 4 and Nov. 25.
- BJ’s Wholesale Club
When you purchase $100 worth of qualifying items at BJ’s Wholesale Club, you’ll be eligible for a free Butterball turkey. To claim your turkey, you’ll need to be a BJ’s Wholesale member and clip the free turkey coupon before checkout. You can claim this offer through Nov. 24.
In addition to the free turkey, you’ll also receive a $10 BJ’s Award which will be loaded onto your account on Dec. 2. You’ll then have until Dec. 16 to claim your $10.
- Fareway
From Nov. 8 through Nov. 24, Fareway customers can get a free turkey up to 14 pounds when they spend at least $50 at Fareway’s fresh meat counter. This promotion should be automatically applied when you bring your meat counter purchase and turkey to the checkout line.
- Winn-Dixie
In years past, Winn-Dixie has offered a free turkey when you get a flu shot during the Thanksgiving season.
This year, the grocery chain is offering a $10 gift card to everyone who gets their flu or COVID-19 shots, and another $10 gift card if you get both.
While these promotions are no longer linked to a free turkey, getting your vaccinations this year could still yield you a free turkey depending on how large of a crowd you’re feeding.
For example, in Montgomery, Alabama, you can get a 10-pound turkey from Winn Dixie for $1.99/pound, which can feed five to eight people. (If you want leftovers, figure on 1½ pounds per person.) Using your vaccination gift cards, you could get your turkey for free.
If you’re feeding a larger crowd, you might not get a free turkey, but getting your vaccinations will significantly reduce the cost of Thanksgiving dinner.
Where to Get a Turkey for Cheap
With the numbers we currently have, we can assume the price of frozen turkey is currently about $1.46 per pound. This number will vary greatly by region.
Shoppers at two of the nation’s largest grocery chains — Safeway and Publix — should keep an eye on advertised sales as Thanksgiving gets closer. Prices were not advertised at the time of this writing but these stores generally have some of the lowest prices around because of the volume of sales.
But here are some stores coming in under that average number, and some stores where we can reasonably expect prices to go down during Thanksgiving promotions over the next few weeks.
Aldi
At an Aldi’s in Pittsburgh, we found Butterball turkeys for $1.39 per pound.
This is lower than the average, but Aldi is known for offering even lower prices during the week of Thanksgiving. In years past, these specials have featured prices under $1 per pound.
City Market
Currently, the cheapest you can get frozen turkey at City Market is for about $1.24 a pound.
Keep an eye out for even better deals throughout the month of November. In the past, City Market, a Kroger store in the Rocky Mountains region, has offered deals under $0.50 per pound for shoppers who met a minimum spend of $25.
Cub Food
Currently, the price per pound for frozen turkeys at Cub Food is higher than the average: $1.79 per pound.
But keep your eyes on the Cub Food weekly ads in the coming weeks. Last year, turkeys were going for 99 cents per pound in the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. Good news for folks in Illinois and Minnesota, where the Cub Food stores are located.
Meijer
Currently, you can get a frozen turkey at the Midwestern chain Meijer for $1.39 per pound.
However, this is another store that tends to offer great promotional pricing during the month of November. Last year, mPerks members could get their turkeys for 31 cents per pound during the nine days leading up to the holiday.
Shaw’s
Shaw’s has a wide variety of turkey choices at different price points. The cheapest currently available is $1.29 per pound.
Last year during the week of Thanksgiving, Shaw’s offered turkeys for 39 cents per pound to customers who made a $25 purchase. We can expect to see those numbers go up this year, but there may be another like deal that saves you a lot of money at the Northeastern food chain.
Shaw’s also tends to price match during the holiday season, so if you see a lower price elsewhere be sure to talk to your cashier.
Tops
At the time of writing, Tops turkeys are a little expensive at $1.69 per pound for an air fry turkey.
However, in the past Tops has come down under 50 cents per pound in the two weeks leading up to the holiday. They have also offered a price-match guarantee if you could find a turkey cheaper elsewhere.
As the holiday gets closer, you’ll want to keep an eye on Tops weekly ads for its stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont.
Walmart
Walmart offers great deals on turkeys. Even weeks out from the big day itself, you can get a Honeysuckle white frozen turkey for just 87 cents per pound — the lowest price currently offered by any store on this list. This price may go down even further in the coming weeks.
Wegmans
Wegmans and Tops work hard to be competitive with one another. Currently, you can get a Shady Brook Farms frozen turkey at Wegmans for $1.69 per pound — the same price as Tops’ cheapest turkey.
In years past, the beloved Northeast food chain now in some Mid-Atlantic states has offered turkey for as low as $0.48 per pound in the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, and also offers a price-match guarantee.
Weis Market
Maybe earning 400 points to get a free turkey isn’t reasonable for your household. But if you rack up at least 200 points prior to Thanksgiving, you can get a serious discount on your turkey at Weis, a Mid-Atlantic states chain.
Redeem your points between Nov. 4 and Nov. 25 to secure the low price of 59 cents per pound.
