Kanye West Slams Zuckerberg
Kanye West has slammed Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg after Instagram, which is owned by the social media company, restricted his account over rants on the platform that have been viewed as anti-Semitic. “Look at this Mark. How you gone kick me off Instagram. You used to be my [expletive],” West tweeted Saturday. Hours later, he added in another tweet: “Who you think created cancel culture?” His Instagram account was restricted Friday night after he posted a screenshot of text messages with Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, stemming from his controversial “White Lives Matter” shirt at Paris Fashion Week last Monday and a feud with Tremaine Emory over comments about the late Virgil Abloh. A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to UPI on Sunday that West has now also been locked out of his account on that platform as well. In the since-deleted messages with Combs, Diddy asked West to “stop playing these internet games” to which West responded that he would use Combs as “an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me.” West, in a now-deleted tweet, also said after the restriction he “can’t be anti-Semitic” because “Black people are actually Jew also.” “You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda,” West said.

William Shatner Has Feelings About Space Trip
William Shatner’s journey to space aboard a Blue Origin spaceship last fall seemed like fun. But Shatner, who was 90 at the time of his flight, and is a longtime environmental advocate, writes in a new book that the experience was among the strongest feelings of grief that he had ever encountered. In an excerpt of “Boldly Go: Reflections on a Life of Awe and Wonder,” published by Variety last week, the Star Trek actor wrote that everything he expected to feel about going to space was wrong. “I had thought that going into space would be the ultimate catharsis of that connection I had been looking for between all living things—that being up there would be the next beautiful step to understanding the harmony of the universe. In the film “Contact,” when Jodie Foster’s character goes to space and looks out into the heavens, she lets out an astonished whisper, “They should’ve sent a poet.” I had a different experience, because I discovered that the beauty isn’t out there, it’s down here, with all of us. Leaving that behind made my connection to our tiny planet even more profound. It was among the strongest feelings of grief I have ever encountered. The contrast between the vicious coldness of space and the warm nurturing of Earth below filled me with overwhelming sadness. Every day, we are confronted with the knowledge of further destruction of Earth at our hands: the extinction of animal species, of flora and fauna . . . things that took five billion years to evolve, and suddenly we will never see them again because of the interference of mankind. It filled me with dread. My trip to space was supposed to be a celebration; instead, it felt like a funeral.”
*****The only good thing about weightlessness is that his pants fit!!!
****By the way… thanks for the $250,000 trip, Jeff!!

Rick Gervais Says NO To The Globes
Ricky Gervais has made it very clear about whether he has any interest in hosting the Golden Globes again: it’s a no. “F— that,” he wrote in a tweet alongside a video from the 2020 ceremony in which he hosted, responding to a viral tweet asking whether he would ever host again. “Retweet if you wish [Gervais] would host the Golden Globes again in 2023,” the now-viral tweet said. He ended his response with a laughing emoji. In 2020, while hosting the Globes, Gervais opened up the ceremony with a controversial speech that bashed both the Hollywood elite and big tech companies such as Amazon and Apple. Nominations for the 2023 Golden Globes are slated to be announced on Dec. 12, and the award show will take place on Jan. 10, 2023.

Back To The Future Reunion
Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, who played Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly in the iconic “Back to the Future” film trilogy, reunited at this year’s New York Comic Con nearly 40 years after the movies were released. “The best part of the movie was working with Chris,” Fox said of Lloyd, recalling when they first met. Fox, calling him a “genius,” said there was “immediate chemistry” between them, referring to Lloyd as the “King of Exposition.” But reliving their sci-fi glory days onstage fell to the wayside for audiences online, who noticed Fox’s evident health decline. In 1991 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a brain disorder that can affect motor functions and bodily movements and cause shaking and stiffness, as well as trouble with balance. When coming onstage at Comic Con, fans spotted the tell-tale signs of the disease as Fox appeared to have difficulty walking and moved slowly — yet he still appeared cheerful. Fans applauded Fox as an “inspiration” and said they were “crying” over the sweet embrace shared by him and Lloyd, who held up his fellow actor.

Woman Finds Her Wedding Ring After The Hurricane
A Florida woman who thought she had lost her wedding ring just days before Hurricane Ian miraculously discovered the jewelry right next to her garage. Ashley Garner, her husband Blake and their children had searched around their Fort Myers yard and garage for two days, with no sign of the ring. “I just accepted that it was gone,” Garner told The Associated Press. “It was only a thing. It’s replaceable, and I just let it go. We knew the hurricane was coming, so we just kind of said goodbye.” Hurricane Ian slammed into the southwest coast of Florida last Wednesday. The family stayed at their home during the storm and went outside to clean up after it had passed. “We’re about 10 minutes into cleaning, and my husband is cleaning up the brush and the trees right next to the garage door,” Garner explained. “There’s a pile of brush and trees, and he moves over one pile and the ring was right there.” In a Facebook post, Garner said she was speechless. She said that, with so much devastation in the area, this gave her hope.

Hand Grenades Wash Ashore
Police in Newport, Oregon, issued a warning on Wednesday after what appeared to be several hand grenades washed ashore on a beach. Officers responded on Tuesday to multiple reports of explosives washing up on the beach in the Newport area between Yaquina Bay State Park and Agate Beach, the Newport Police Department said. Three separate devices were discovered with labels attached to them that read: “Warning Explosive.” The labels stated that each of the devices was a Simulator Hand Grenade M116A1. This type of device is used to simulate battlefield noises and effects during training. The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad responded and seized the devices. Authorities warned the public not to handle or attempt to move such a device if found and instead to call 911.

Woman Suffers Heart Attack From Strippers In Retirement Home
A group of strippers held a raunchy party at a nursing home in a stunt that has caused outrage. Footage shows the half-naked entertainers dancing with pensioners at the retirement home in El Prado, Cartagena, Colombia, The Sun reported. The clip that was shared on social media sparked a backlash after a woman appeared to be receiving medical attention following an alleged heart attack. The party was organized by influencer Nadia Cartagena who posted the clip on Instagram. She said: “Today I held an erotic party for older adults and I got the biggest scare of my life because I did not expect what happened to happen and the truth is that I am very sorry, I just wanted to give them some fun and I did not expect that situation, so I want you to comment on the situation.” The Instagrammer was slammed by her followers who told her the party theme was “too much”. One said: “Nadia you overdid it, a party is OK but with another theme not like this. Another one said: “Oops, Nadia, it wasn’t the right party, that’s the result, what a shame, how sad.”

The Rudest Things You Can Do In Someone Else’s House
Huffington Post
Touching and moving things
“When someone says ‘Make yourself at home,’ they usually do not mean this literally,” said Jodi R.R. Smith, president of Mannersmith Etiquette Consulting. “You should keep your feet off the furniture, and unless this is a close friend, you should not be opening the fridge without being asked to do so.” Wait for the host to give you the go-ahead to touch or interact with things you see. Until that happens, quickly ask for permission if something strikes your fancy.
“Ask before touching an object or removing a book from a shelf,” advised Nick Leighton, an etiquette expert, and co-host of the “Were You Raised by Wolves?” podcast.
Expecting a tour
“Don’t demand a tour of someone’s home,” Leighton urged. “Wait to be invited by your host.”
Many people are happy to lead a little tour of their space when they invite people over, but that isn’t true of everyone at all times. And if your host doesn’t offer a tour, don’t take it upon yourself to give yourself one, either. “Don’t take a tour of the house unless you are encouraged by the host to ‘wander’ around,” Diane Gottsman, an etiquette expert, author of “Modern Etiquette for a Better Life” and founder of The Protocol School of Texas.
Overstaying your welcome
“Know when it’s time to leave,” urged Leighton. “The number one complaint we hear from hosts is about guests who overstay their welcome.”
You might still be enjoying your nightcap or get the sense everyone is having a great time chatting. But pay attention to the hosts’ body language and suggest that those who want to continue hanging out relocate elsewhere. “If your hosts have changed into their pajamas, that’s probably a good sign that it’s time to go,” Leighton added.
Hiding a mess
Unfortunately, things happen when you’re in another person’s home. You might accidentally spill red wine on the carpet or knock over a lamp. Don’t ignore or try to hide it. “If you break something, or even just finish the roll of toilet paper, it is best to let your host know as quickly and quietly as possible,” Smith said.
Snooping
“Refrain from peeking in cabinets and cupboards,” Smith advised. Of course, it’s natural to be a little curious, and we’ve seen this exact behavior in countless movies. But resist the urge to look inside the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.
“Beware that some hosts put glass marbles in their medicine cabinets to catch snoopers in the act,” Leighton said. “The marbles will ping around the bathroom and make a lot of noise for your host and all other guests to hear.”
Bringing an uninvited plus-one
“Never show up with an unexpected plus one,” Gottsman said.
Sure, you might know the host loves hanging out with your cousin, or you think everyone will enjoy meeting the new guy you’re seeing. But that doesn’t mean you can extend an invitation without getting the go-ahead. Unless you were explicitly told that you may bring a plus-one (or plus-five), always ask before bringing anyone else into someone’s home. Even if it’s a casual gathering, shoot the host a quick text to make sure.
Waiting to share dietary restrictions
“If you have been invited for a meal, any dietary restrictions should be shared well in advance, not when you sit down at the table,” Smith noted.
Don’t just expect the meal to be vegan-friendly or not contain any of your allergens. Tell the host as soon as possible about any limitations you may have (and stick to actual limitations, not preferences).
Feeding the dog
Regarding dietary restrictions, it’s important to remember that the host’s pets may have some, so don’t share your food. “Don’t feed the host’s dog under the table unless you ask your host first,” Gottsman said. “The dog may have an allergy or be on a special diet.”
Disrespecting shoe rules
“Shoes on or off tends to be very individual specific,” Smith noted. “Listen to what your host prefers.” It’s understandable why many people prefer not to track the dirt and germs of the outside world into their homes when possible.
“Be prepared to remove your shoes if asked,” Leighton said. “Throw a pair of socks or slippers in your bag if you don’t like being barefoot and think you might be heading to a no-shoe household.” Smith also believes hosts should be prepared for their ask.
“Hosts that want shoes left at the door should also have slippers or socks for the guests,” she said. “Hosts will also need to understand if the guest declines. Fashionistas prefer to keep their shoes on as part of their ensemble.”
Interfering with the setup
“Don’t switch place cards at the dinner table,” Gottsman advised. People put time and effort into hosting events like dinner parties, so respect what they put together and don’t try to interfere or make changes.
Showing up empty-handed
“As a guest, you should arrive with a small gift for the host,” Smith said.
However, there’s no need to be too extravagant or overthink the host’s gift. Pick up a nice bottle of wine or a bouquet of flowers. It’s the thought that counts.
