Sharon Osbourne Is Done With TV

Sharon Osbourne isn’t interested in returning to TV after her high-profile exit from “The Talk” earlier this year.   She faced allegations of racism at the time that ultimately led to her jumping ship  with the show. Speaking in a preview for the upcoming Season 5 premiere of “Daily Mail TV,” Osbourne explained that she doesn’t feel television is a “safe place” anymore given the proliferation of cancel culture.   “Right now, it’s not a safe place to be. Because the slightest thing, the slightest word and you’ve pissed off half the nation,” she says in the clip. “I don’t want to put myself up for that grief, I really don’t.”  She announced she was leaving the daytime talk show just weeks after she had a heated exchange with co-host Sheryl Underwood in which she expressed her support for Piers Morgan after he left “Good Morning Britain” over differing opinions about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
********It’s not a good time for old white men in Hollywood… and it looks like old white WOMEN are in trouble, too!!

Prenup In Demand For Britney Spears

Britney Spears’ new fiancé, Sam Asghari, responded to trolls who begged Britney to get a prenup after the couple’s engagement news.  “Thank you to everyone who is concerned about The prenup!” Asghari sarcastically wrote on his Instagram Story Monday.  “Of course we’re getting [an] iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection incase [sic] she dumps me one day,” he continued, adding two crying-laughing emojis.  They announced Sunday that they had taken the next step in their nearly five-year relationship, fans flooded her Instagram with comments urging her to protect her reported $60 million fortune when she marries the personal trainer.  Several fans even went so far as to call Asghari “the next K-Fed,” referencing Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline, with whom she shares sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, both 15.

Rod Stewart’s Assault Trial Cancelled

A Florida judge has canceled the trial for Rod Stewart and his adult son and scheduled a hearing next month to discuss a plea deal to resolve charges stemming from a New Year’s Eve altercation with a hotel security guard nearly two years ago.  Court records show the hearing with Judge August Bonavita is set for Oct. 22 regarding a plea agreement to close the case without them needing to appear in court. The trial had been scheduled to begin (Today) Tuesday but was canceled on Thursday.  If convicted, the Stewarts were facing a year in jail, or probation and a $1,000 fine. The terms of the agreement are not clear yet, and attorney Guy Fronstin did not respond to an email and phone call seeking comment.  The Stewarts’ battery charges have taken long to resolve because of the pandemic and settlement negotiations.

Is Prince Charles Giving Up The Throne?

Prince Charles is next in line for the British throne but apparently some royal insider types aren’t convinced he really wants to take on all the stress that comes with being the monarch, apparently.  According to The Sun, Princess Diana’s former voice coach, Stewart Pearce, thinks Charles might abdicate and pass the crown directly to his oldest son, Prince William, when the time comes.  “He [Charles] may not take the throne, he may hand it to his young son,” Pearce said. “He doesn’t want to do it, such a difficult task.”  Pearce also said Will has been “part of the conversation” about the succession plan since he was 11 or 12 years old.  If Charles did want to avoid the “difficult task” of being monarch and abdicate directly to William, however, he would have to get parliament involved, according to experts at University College London’s Constitution Unit.  “That would be a matter for Prince Charles, and for parliament,” the group explained in a post on the UCL website. “Under common law, Prince Charles will automatically become King the moment the Queen dies. Prince William could only become King if Prince Charles chose to abdicate. That would require legislation, as happened with the Declaration of Abdication Act 1936. The line of succession is regulated by parliament (as in the Act of Succession 1700, and the Succession to the Crown Act 2013); it can be changed only by parliament and cannot be unilaterally altered by the monarch of the day.”
*******Here’s really busy doing nothing all day right now… and he’d have to do nothing at a much higher level if he becomes king!!
*******There’s another way to skip Charles… it involves Prince William and a large club!!
*****If William needs help coming up with an underhanded scheme, he can always call Meghan!!

Nicole Kidman has gone on to become one of the highest-paid women of TV after teaming up with screenwriter David E. Stadium Cat Has 8 Lives Left

Fans at a University of Miami football game used a U.S. flag to break the fall of a cat that fell from the upper deck.  Craig and Kimberly Cromer said it was the second quarter of the school’s game against the Appalachian State Mountaineers at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami when the crowd’s attention was captured by a cat dangling from the upper deck.  The Cromers said fans in the upper deck were attempting to reach the cat, but succeeded only in scaring it into urinating on the fans below.  The couple pulled the U.S. flag they had brought to the stadium free from the zip-ties they were using to hang it and held it out for about two or three minutes before the cat finally fell into the waiting banner.  The flag broke the feline’s fall and the cat bounced into the crowd, where it was soon escorted out of the stadium by security. See the video HERE.

Dog Interrupts Cricket Match

A dog stole the show during the Women’s All-Ireland T20 Cup cricket semi-final match when it ran out onto the pitch and stole the ball.  The cameras were rolling during Saturday’s game between Bready and CSNI when the canine darted out onto the pitch and ran off with the ball.  “The dog has the ball,” announcer Heatley Tector can be heard saying in the footage, before erupting into laughter.  The dog eventually gave up the ball and was led away from the play area by his owner.  “I think we’ve retrieved the ball. It may need a clean. I think this has brought COVID regulations to a whole new standard,” Tector says in the video.  The International Cricket Council celebrated the incident by dubbing the dog, named Dazzle, its honorary player of the month.  See the video HERE.

Woman Finally Has The Winning Numbers

A Michigan woman won a $1.2 million jackpot from a lottery drawing after reliably playing the same set of numbers every week for a year.  She told Michigan Lottery officials she started playing Lotto 47 about a year ago.  “I have played Lotto 47 online for about a year,” said the player. “I always play the same numbers and I always play them online.”  The woman’s persistence paid off when her numbers, 05-06-11-36-40-47, won the jackpot in the Aug. 18 drawing.  “When I checked the results, I saw someone had won but didn’t even think it could have been me. When I looked a little closer, the numbers seemed familiar. When I verified in my account that I was the winner I was shocked. I’m still shocked,” she said.

African Serval Cat On The Loose In California

Residents of a California county reported numerous sightings of an unusual escaped animal in the area: an African serval.  Kristi Clark, of Olivenhain, said she initially did not know the identity of the unusual animal she spotted in her back yard last week.  “I mean your first instinct is, is that a leopard? Did the zoo lose an animal or Wild Animal Park or something?” Clark told KFMB-TV. “None of us knew what it was at the time.”  Clark’s neighbor snapped a photo of the animal, which later was identified as an African serval, a species of wild cat that resembles a small leopard. Servals are not legal to own in California without a permit.  North County reported numerous other sightings of the animal on the NextDoor app.  Emily Schultz said the serval, named Pharaoh, was purchased four years ago by her husband and his mother. She said they were told at the time that the feline was a Savannah cat, a hybrid of a serval and a domestic cat.  Schultz said she and her husband have been caring for Pharaoh since his mother’s recent death, but the cat escaped Aug. 7. She said her family understands Pharaoh might be seized by the authorities if he is captured and found to be a full-blooded serval, but they still hope the cat is found.  “It’s terrifying, but we’re trying to find him regardless. I’d rather him be safe somewhere else than to be out there alone,” she said.
*********Hey, they eat rats!!! So maybe we WANT him out there!!
****By the way, here’s what they look like!!

How To Perk Up If You’re In An Afternoon Slump At Work

Huffington Post

  1. Drink some water.

When in doubt about why you’re so tired and your head is pounding, try drinking more water. Dehydration makes us tired, and people at work often forget to hydrate while sitting or staring at screens all day.

Even mild dehydration levels ― a body water loss of 1% to 2% ― can impair cognitive performance and cause poor concentration and short-term memory problems, as well as moodiness and anxiety, according to research. So drink up!

  1. Turn up the lights or get outside.

If you feel sluggish after lunchtime, it may help to get your body exposed to more light. If going outside is not an option, turn up the lights where you’re working. Research has found that more intense light can improve feelings of alertness and vitality.

But go outside if you can. Paul Glovinsky, the clinical director of the St. Peter’s Sleep Center in Albany, New York, and the author of “You Are Getting Sleepy: Lifestyle-Based Solutions for Insomnia,” said outdoor light is much stronger than what you get inside.

“In lux, a unit of illuminance, residential lighting is typically under 500 lux and offices around 1000 lux, while direct sunlight can be 100,000 lux,” he said. “Our circadian rhythms are best entrained by this strong outdoor light, but many of us are hardly outside at all during the day.”

  1. Take a power nap.

Instead of pushing through fatigue, take a little time to rest so that you can finish your day strong. Just be sure to time it right, and don’t make it longer than an hour unless you’re OK with staying up later.

“Some do well with a 20-minute power nap, others with 30 or 45 minutes,” Glovinsky said. “I would avoid an hour nap or longer unless one is living in a siesta culture where stores reopen, dinner is late, etc., because long naps will cause sleep timing to drift later.”

  1. Talk with someone.

Angela Karachristos, a career coach who previously worked in human resources, said her afternoon slump hits every day at exactly 2 p.m. She tries to schedule conversations that can perk her up for the afternoon, saving her focused solo work for the morning.

“Sometimes I try to connect with a friend or colleague or I try to schedule meetings during that time so I’m engaged in a conversation,” Karachristos said. “One of my go-to time management strategies is to get all the work that I have to do independently done in the morning. I’m awake and super motivated once my a.m. coffee kicks in. If I have back-to-back meetings in the afternoon, I am still engaged and working, but it doesn’t require that laser focus that I needed in the morning.”

  1. Eat a fun, motivating snack.

If you need a pick-me-up, eat a snack. What we eat and drink can make a big difference for problem-solving, attention span and memory. Brain foods like broccoli, grains, lentils and eggs, for example, can help boost concentration when you need it most.

And you can think of the break you’ll take to eat your snack as something to look forward to.

“Another way I trick myself is I have go-to treats that I save for slump time. So instead of getting coffee from my favorite spot in the morning, I’ll save it for slump time as a pick-me-up,” Karachristos said. “Or, if I have a special treat like leftover dessert, I save it for the afternoon break.”

  1. Think about what activity nourishes you, and make time for it.

By the time the afternoon rolls around, you may be mentally and physically drained and think you have to keep working without a break in order to finish. But counterintuitively the promise of a fun activity can keep you motivated to get through each day.

That’s why Adjoa Osei, a licensed clinical psychologist, recommends reflecting on what activities nourish and refresh you, and doing them. The answers can vary depending on your personal needs and personality.

“For some people, it could be movement, such as going for a walk, taking a dance break with music, stretching or looking at enjoyable pictures,” Osei said. “For other people, it might be taking a moment for stillness, such as focusing on your breath or meditation.”
