Time For Another Halloween Movie!

Michael Myers is targeting those who survived his previous attacks on the town of Haddonfield in the new trailer for Halloween Kills.  He forges a path of destruction as he heads towards his childhood home in the clip released on Monday.  Jamie Lee Curtis is back as Laurie Strode who warns that Michael is after a group of adults who were able to escape from his clutches 40 years ago when they were children. This is a callback to the original Halloween film that was released in 1978. Laurie, along with her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak), get ready to fight back after the events of 2018’s Halloween where Michael survived a raging fire.  Laurie also inspires Haddonfield to start fighting back against Michael with members of the town banning together to stop the masked menace.  “I want to take his mask off and see the life leave his eyes,” Curtis says as Laurie.  Co-stars include Will Patton, Thomas Mann, Anthony Michael Hall and Kyle Richards. See the trailer HERE.
******It’s 2021… CNN is scarier than this!!!
********In the new sequel, Michael Meyers apologizes for creating “Austin Powers!!!”

Emmy Ratings Up From All-Time Low

Sunday’s telecast on CBS of the Emmys averaged about 7.4 million viewers, according to time zone-adjusted fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen. That’s a 16 percent improvement on the 6.36 million viewers for last year’s Emmys and the highest for the awards since 10.2 million watched on NBC in 2018.  The Nielsen figures will likely tick up a little with the inclusion of out of home viewing in the final ratings, which will be available early Tuesday morning.  Cedric the Entertainer, star of CBS’ comedy The Neighborhood, hosted the awards. Paramount+ also streamed the Emmys Sunday. Per usual with streaming platforms, detailed viewing figures aren’t available, but CBS says the Emmys recorded 1.4 billion minutes of viewing time across linear and digital platforms (including CBS.com and the CBS app). Social traffic for the show improved by 33 percent over each of the past two ceremonies.
********Let’s stick with Cedric!!! He knows how to do this!!!
*****The ratings went up in part because the entire Royal Family was watching!!
******Their ratings have been so far down, ANYTHING looks like up!!!!

Prince Andrew’s A New Grandpa

Princess Beatrice gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the royal family announced Monday.  The eldest child of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson welcomed her daughter Saturday, Sept. 18, at 11:42 p.m. local time at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.  The newborn, whose name was not disclosed, weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces.  “The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news,” a statement read. “The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.  “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother, Christopher Woolf.”  Wolfie, as he is nicknamed, is the 5-year-old son of Mozzi and his ex-fiancée, Dara Huang.  Beatrice announced in May — on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s third wedding anniversary — that she was pregnant.
*******How old will the child be before they tell her about “grandpa??”
*****Andrew has a girlfriend younger than his grand daughter!! (too soon??)
******Hopefully, the child’s approval rating is higher than Andrew’s!! (He is 56% DIS-approval with the British public!)

Marvel Fans Upset At The Emmys

In a crushing blow to superhero fans, the critically acclaimed Disney+ series “WandaVision” only took home three 2021 Emmys — with none in any big categories — despite being nominated a whopping 23 times.  Their near-shutout came after Marvel’s fledgling TV show was favored to nab at least two acting Emmys, with both Kathryn Hahn and Paul Bettany expected to win in their categories for limited or anthology series or movies. Meanwhile, “WandaVision’” star Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Witch) lost out to “Mare of Easttown” star Kate Winslet in the category of Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Needless to say, Marvel Twitter was none too pleased with what they perceived as an epic snub.  “Did it hurt? when you realized wandavision scored 23 nominations at the emmys and still got robbed?” lamented one crestfallen fan.  “And the popular vote goes to Elizabeth Olsen and WandaVision,” said another heartbroken “WV” lover. They also included a screenshot of an IMDb Emmy poll, showing that over half of fans favored the series to win a Best Limited Series Emmy and touted Olsen to take home the Best Actress award.
********Oops! Sorry… the Academy voters thought it was a documentary on Wanda Sykes!!!
****By the way, these fans have nothing to complain about. Marvel’s doing just fine!!!

Chris Rock Has COVID

Chris Rock has revealed he has been diagnosed with Covid-19 while urging people to get vaccinated for the virus.  He shared the health update with his fans on Twitter.  “Hey guys I just found out I have Covid. Trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated,” he wrote.  His breakthrough case of Covid comes after he revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he had received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.  “I’m vaccinated. I’m two shots Rock. That’s what they call me,” the 56-year-old had joked at the time, before revealing that he had actually gotten the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only requires one dose.  At the time, he had also joked that he had used his fame to cut the line, telling Fallon that he “didn’t care” and he had used his “celebrity”.  “I didn’t care. I used my celebrity, Jimmy. I was like: ‘Hey, step aside, Betty White,’” he joked.
*****Was he lying??
*****We thought the vaccine prevented you from getting really sick! If not, why take it??
*****If you get Johnson & Johnson, do they actually inject it into your johnson???

Jennifer Aniston’s Former Side Hustle

Jennifer Aniston weighs in on her past experiences with having to take up ‘odd jobs’ here and here for some extra money.  She told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, “I was a bike messenger for a day in New York City. I worked at an advertising agency after school. My mom actually worked there. So to make extra money, I would do odd jobs. And one day their bike messenger just didn’t show up.”  “Now mind you, in Central Park I can ride a bike, I mean, with soft areas to land. But so I just boldly said yes and they gave me this bag, and they put all these cylinders in this bag.”  She also went on to say, “In my brain, I don’t know how I survived the day, because it was — to be on Fifth Avenue with traffic, and all that I was holding, I think I might have gotten into a cab just to finish the day.”  At this point Jimmy started laughing uncontrollably and admitted, “You made sure [the packages] got there, that’s all that matters.”  Aniston however, wrapped it all up by admitting, “I don’t know what happened to the bike, it’s all a blur.”
********Translation: she was stoned!!!
****Her mother probably OWNED that ad agency!!!
*****Is she just making this up so it sounds like she lived in New York???

Leo’s Nesting instinct a “Titanic” Life Change!-(National Enquirer)

Leonardo Di Caprio’s swinging single days may be history, insiders said-after he put his Malibu bachelor pad on the market for $10 million!  The move comes after the “Titanic” heartthrob plunked down $13 million for a splasher place in Malibu’s exclusive gated community Blue Whale Estates.  Insiders dished Leo’s new digs are better suited to a couple-or even a family-and the biggest sign yet of his commitment to 24-year-old sweetie Camila Morrone.  “Leo will be 47 in November and he’s thinking about family more than ever,” spilled the source.

No Seven-Year Itch For “Blue Blood” Donnie-(Globe)

Np seven-year itch rash in sight for married lovebirds Jenny McCarthy, 48, and Donnie Wahlberg, 52.  The pair, who started dating after locking lips on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” show and tied the knot after a year of dating in 2014, recently celebrated their seventh anniversary by renewing their wedding vows.  “I love you more than ever, Mrs. Wahlberg,” gushes the “Blue Bloods” actor.

Meg Ryan:  Looking for Love?-(Us Weekly)

It’s been almost two years since Meg Ryan split from fiancé John Mellencamp, but an insider says that the actress has finally dating again.  “She’s being set up by friends,” the insider says, noting that the You’ve Got Mail star, 59, isn’t seeking anything serious at the moment.  “When she was dating John, she was not actually the one who wanted to get married,” the insider confesses.  “John was the one who wanted it.”

Keeping It Real:  Jennifer Hudson As Aretha Franklin-(Star)

Seal of approval!  Before her 2018 death, the Queen of Soul actually hand-picked the American Idol finalist to play her in the biopic Respect.  In part, the actress surmises, because of adversities-like the 2008 murders of her mother, brother and nephew-that she’s overcome in her own life.  “This is beyond singing and acting,” Jennifer recently said.  “I think she saw something in me…..I would not have be able to go as deep as I did to tell her story in an honest way without my own life experiences.”  Critic’s take:  “[Hudson] doesn’t look or sound like Franklin, but she manages the role confidently and with a pure singing voice that more than holds its own.”

William & Kate:  Fast Track To the Throne-(Life & Style)

Their plans are changing.  While it seemed as though Kate Middleton and Prince William had put down roots at Kensington Palace in London, where their two old children are going to school, the royal couple, both 39, are reportedly considering relocating to Queen Elizabeth II’s current home, Windsor Castle, in the English countryside.  “It’s something they’ve been talking about with the queen,” says an insider, who adds that at least for a while, William and Kate would divide their time between London and Windsor.  “With Prince Philip’s passing it makes sense for William to be closer to his grandmother.”  The source reveals, [the queen] wants to fast-track William’s path to the throne:  “She wants to start training them to be king and queen-ASAP-once they move to Windsor.  She doesn’t think [Prince] Charles can handle the job.”

STUPID NEWS

Town Wants Stolen Payphone Back

Residents of a small Colorado town are pleading for the return of a stolen phone booth that served as the centerpiece of a public park for decades.  Residents Vickie Cecil and Lanny Payne said the phone booth was a major landmark in the town of about 56 people for some 50 years.  The booth, in its functioning years, originally sat outside of a Conoco gas station, but later became an ornamental feature of Memorial Park when the station closed.  The residents said the booth didn’t have phone service, but often drew travelers who would pose for photos.  Residents said the theft has been reported to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.  “It was just kind of a novelty. It’s just sad that somebody would, you know, take our little phone booth,” Payne said. “We thought that was a significant piece of our town history.”
*****Now Superman has nowhere to change!!!
********Let’s take a few minutes and explain what a “phone booth” is, to all our listeners under the age of 60!!

High School Kids Help Round Up Goats

Police in Colorado said some helpful high schoolers came to the assistance of an animal protection officer when a herd of goats got loose from a city park.  The Boulder Police Department said in a Facebook post that the goats were being used to get rid of weeds at Harlow Platts Park, but they got loose from their pen on Thursday when someone tampered with the electric fence keeping them contained.  Animal Protection Officer Stacey Ward responded to the scene with a park ranger and attempted to round up the wandering goats.  The police department said a nearby group of high schoolers came to the duo’s assistance and helped corral and leash the animals.  “After they were back in the pen, they realized three goats were missing! Thankfully, they were found at nearby Southern Hills Middle School where a teacher was holding the ‘baaa-d’ goats,” the post said.  See the pics HERE.
*******Those goats were very good… in fact they were the greatest of all time!!!
TIP: NEVER pee on the electric fence!!!

Police Chase Down Runaway Boat

Sheriff’s deputies in Florida said it took some “teamwork by land, air and sea” to stop a runaway boat off the coast of a popular beach.  The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that deputies responded to calls about a “subject in the water” off Pass A Grill Beach and they arrived to find a man had been thrown from his boat about a half mile from shore, and the vehicle was now speeding through the water without any occupants.  Deputies were able to safely bring the man back to shore, and set about using “teamwork by land, air and sea” to secure the boat.  “Utilizing their training, marine deputies were able to match the speed of the runaway vessel, board it and regain control,” the post said.   The sheriff’s office said the incident should serve as a reminder to wear a flotation device while boating and utilize a cut-off switch, or “kill cord,” to ensure the boat’s engine stops when the driver is thrown overboard.  See the video HERE.

Florida Man Skips Disney Lines

A Florida man discovered the ultimate travel hack: using an app that lets you skip lines running on a possibly stolen employee iPad. According to central Florida’s WESH2 news, 30 year-old Rennan Carletto allegedly did just that in June, by giving himself and a group traveling through the park with him an unauthorized jump to the front of the line.  Carletto was leading an unauthorized tour of Hollywood Studios and using the iPad to skip lines for the park’s rides by making reservation overrides. One Disney World fan site theorizes that he may have been taking advantage of Disney’s system that lets people with disabilities reserve certain times for a ride so they don’t have to wait in line. This would seemingly agree with a quote reported by WDW News Today, which classified the app as “a private app for qualifying guests” that’s only installed on devices owned by Disney World.  However Carletto was pulling it off, it seems like it was both easier and better than the confusing FastPass/MaxPass reservation system. Carletto ended up having to give the iPad back to a Disney investigator, and was issued a warning by Disney for trespassing. He reportedly told authorities that he didn’t know it was stolen.
**********But after being interrogated by Donald Duck for several hours, he confessed!!
*******If you steal something from a Disney employee, you wind up in Disney’s “Dungeon World,” where the soft drinks are hot and the burgers are cold!!!!!
*******The state of Florida called him and said, “THAT’S all you can come up with?? You’ll have to get weirder than that to live here!!”

6 Money Moves Every Pet Owner Should Make (Without Redoing Your Budget)

THE PENNY HOARDER

  1. Save Money on Pet Food

Pet owners spend hundreds of dollars a year on pet food. (How much exactly? It really depends on the pet.) You may as well be getting some money back.

Do you buy your pet food at the grocery store? A free app called Fetch Rewards rewards you with gift cards to places like Amazon or Walmart just for buying pet food and more than 250 other items at the supermarket. Just take a picture of your receipt showing you purchased an item from one of the brands listed in Fetch.

Or, do you buy your pet food online? This free service will send you an alert if you’re about to overpay. Just add it to your browser, and before you check out, it’ll check other websites to see if your item is available for cheaper. It’ll also automatically check for coupon codes you can use online.

  1. Here’s How to Pay for Pet Insurance

Here’s how pet insurance works: You pay a small monthly fee, and the insurance covers any big, qualifying vet bills you get in the future. Like all insurance, it’s a bit of a gamble, because you never know if you’ll really need it, but the chance of facing at least one expensive vet bill is pretty high.

We recommend looking for plans with comprehensive coverage, so read the fine print and make sure the policy will cover what you might need. The best plans will cover everything from accidents to hereditary conditions to lab tests to emergency visits.

Some of the most popular pet insurance companies include Trupanion, HealthyPaws and Figo, if you want to start your research there!

How can you afford it? By lowering your bill for a different kind of insurance. For example, you’re probably paying too much for car insurance.

A free website called Savvy helps you find the best car insurance rates in just 30 seconds. It’ll even help you cancel your old policy and get you a refund from your current insurer. It saves people an average of $826/year.

  1. Have an Emergency Fund for You and Your Pet

Owning a pet means you’re responsible for it. So it’s on you to act responsibly.

These days, part of responsibility is having an emergency fund. This past year has taught us the hard way that everyone should have one.

You need a place where you can safely stash your savings away — but still earn money on it. A typical savings account won’t pay you any interest these days. But a debit card called Aspiration lets you earn up to 5% cash back and up to 16 times the average interest on the money in your account.

Enter your email address here to get a free Aspiration Spend and Save account. After you confirm your email, securely link your bank account so they can start helping you get extra cash.

  1. Does Your Dog Deserve Its Own Yard?

Let’s think bigger. Are you an apartment dweller? Or do you live in a house with a small yard?

You might have dreams to buy a house one day — one with a nice big yard for your furry friend.

To buy a house, you’ll need a good credit rating. It really makes a big difference. If you’re looking to get your credit score back on track — or even if it is on track and you want to bump it up — try using a free website called Credit Sesame.

Within 90 seconds, you’ll get access to your credit score, any debt-carrying accounts and a handful of personalized tips to improve your score. You’ll even be able to spot any errors holding you back (one in five reports have one).

Want to check for yourself? It’s free and only takes about 90 seconds to sign up.

  1. Take Care of Your Pet Forever

Have you thought about how your family would manage without your income after you’re gone? That includes your cats and dogs. Chances are your checking account balance won’t last forever.

If you want to leave your family up to $1 million to care of things like funeral expenses and college tuitions (and pet food), use something called term life insurance.

We suggest a company like Bestow. Maybe you’ve considered this before, but thought it was only for rich or older people. But we’re hearing that people are getting it for as little as $16 a month.

You can take advantage of Bestow until you’re 54 years old, but the sooner you take care of this, the cheaper it could be.

You don’t even need to leave your house to get a free quote from Bestow — it takes minutes. Instead of leaving your family with what’s in your checking account and a bucket of worries, they’ll be able to afford the life you’ve always wanted for them.

And they’ll be able to afford to feed Sparky and Muffin forever.
