Prince Harry Leaving Without One-On-One

Prince Harry will fly home to the US without having “one-on-one” chats with either his father or brother — because neither trust him enough to speak with him alone.  The only tete-a-tete between Harry, Prince William and their dad, Prince Charles, was a three-way “clear-the-air talk” at Harry’s UK home, Frogmore Cottage, following Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday, sources said.  Charles and William would only agree to talk to Harry if there were witnesses to what was said, because the heir to the throne and his eldest son feared that a twisted account might leak out from Harry’s camp, the sources said.  Saturday’s three-way talk didn’t fully mend any cracks in the high-profile family, which arose after Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, did a tell-all in which they accused the royal family of racism.  “They are being protective of one another — no one wants anything private being reported back to anyone. Nobody wants anything out there,” a UK royal source told us.  “And no one can pretend to know what was said on Saturday — it was just immediate family after the service.”  Another source added that “it’s still early days” and that “there’s a way to go” in mending the family rift.

Kelly Osbourne Relapses

Kelly Osbourne revealed she’s relapsed after staying sober for nearly four years.   She told fans Monday on her Instagram Stories that she’s not “proud” of her actions and is already working to get “back on track.”  “This is a little hard for me to talk about, but I’ve always promised you that I will always be honest with you about where I’m at and what’s going on in my road to recovery,” Osbourne admitted. “I relapsed. Not proud of it. But I am back on track.”  As of Monday, she said she’s sober again and will be “sober tomorrow.”  “But I’ve learned it truly is just one day at a time,” Osbourne continued. “I just want to tell you guys the truth because I never, ever want to lie to you. Thank you so much for your support and your love.”  Osbourne got sober in 2017. She previously said she depended on drugs and alcohol to help deal with her depression.  In 2019, she celebrated two years sober. “I woke up this morning feeling overwhelmed with gratitude. I can’t even put into words how much my life has changed over the last 2 years,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “To the friends and family that have supported me on this Journey thank you I love you all so much. If you are new to sobriety stick to it life really does get good.”

Britney Spears’ Mom Come To Her Defense

Britney Spears’ mother is stepping up to bat for her pop star daughter in her ongoing conservatorship case.  Lynne Spears filed an objection to Jamie Spears’ request to be reimbursed for a fee totaling more than $890,000 from his law firm Holland & Knight.  In the document, Lynne claims the hefty fee Jamie requested to be reimbursed for is “substantively improper.”  “Petitioner Lynne Spears, interested party and mother of the Conservatee Britney Jean Spears, respectfully objects to the Petition for Order Allowing and Approving Payment of 1) Compensation to Conservator and Attorneys for Conservator; and 2) Reimbursement of Costs, solely as it relates to fees and expenses charged to the estate by certain time keepers at Holland & Knight LLP, and fees and expenses charged for certain services provided by H&K,” Lynne’s filing reads.   Lynne goes on to question the necessity of the $890,000 fee. She requests that the “raw data regarding those fees and costs be examined in camera by the Court, and, to the extent they are determined to be improper or excessive, that they be stricken from the H&K Fee Application, and in the event they have already been paid, that they be clawed back immediately and repaid to the Conservatee’s estate.”

The Oscars Will Be Different This Year

The Oscars will look very different from past years when they air on Sunday night.  After dips in viewership of not only the Academy Awards but various high-profile entertainment award shows, this year’s ceremony has been reinvented by producers Steven Soderbergh, Stacey Sher and Jesse Collins.  During a recent press conference, Soderbergh, also a famed director, revealed some of the changes he’s made to the ceremony.  “It’s not going to be like anything that’s been done before,” he said, also explaining that the presenters will have larger roles than opening an envelope while at the Art Deco Union Station in downtown Los Angeles for the ceremony.  Soderbergh says that the show will be shot like a movie with presenters, including Brad Pitt, Halle Berry and more “playing themselves, or at least a version of themselves.”  Additionally, the Academy is doing away with the 45-second acceptance speech, instead, they will give winners “space.”  “We’ve encouraged them to tell a story, and to say something personal,” Soderbergh explained.  “Masks are going to play a very important role in the story,” said the producer. “That topic is very central to the narrative.”  “When you see cast members go up to give awards, you’ll see a connection,” Collins explained at the time. “It won’t be two people walking up that just met in the greenroom who are struggling to stick with the teleprompter.”

Prince Harry’s Acronym Has A Different Meaning!

Prince Harry is drawing some chuckles for his new gig at a California startup, where he is known by the acronym “CHIMPO” – which means “penis” in Japan.  He has been named chief impact officer of BetterUp Inc., an online coaching and mental health firm, where he told the Wall Street Journal that he plans “to help create impact in people’s lives.”  But the acronym of his Silicon Valley title has made quite an impact by itself so far, according to Japanese news site SoraNews24, which pointed out its phallic meaning in the country.  “It doesn’t matter what age you are, the word ‘chimpo’ always raises a smile,” one person said in social media, according to the outlet.  “So his role is Chief Pole Officer?” another user wondered.  “Now he’s a Royal C–ck?” yet another user asked.

Ted Nugent Has COVID

Ted Nugent has tested positive for COVID-19, just months after he blasted it as “not a real pandemic” and a “scam.”    He revealed his diagnosis on Facebook Live on Monday.  “I have had flu symptoms for the last 10 days. I thought I was dying,” Nugent said in the video.  He described his symptoms as “body aches” and “a stuffed-up head.”   “My god, what a pain in the a–. I literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days,” he said.  He went on to use racist language to talk about the virus, calling it the “Chinese s–t.”  He also added that he won’t be getting the COVID-19 vaccine because “nobody knows what’s in it.”   Nugent previously shared a Christmas message in which he referred to the health threat as a “scammy pandemic” and called people who wear masks “sheep.”  “It’s not a real pandemic and that’s not a real vaccine, I’m sorry. I ain’t taking no vaccine. You come at me with a needle and I will be in fear of my life,” he said, Metro UK reported.

“I will fight for those who cannot fight for themselves,” Wonder Woman vows.  And Gal Gadot should know.  According to a new report, the actress, who has alluded to trouble with controversial director Joss Whedon on the set of Justice League, actively fought for her right to be heard.  Asked to record lines she felt didn’t fit her character, the 35-year-old’s inner superhero came out.  “Josh was bragging that he’s had it out with Gal.  He told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie,” a witness says.  Um, not so fast.  Gal went straight to the top, said a source, complaining directly to the studio boss.  As she said in statement:  “I had my issues with [Josh] and Warner Bros. handled it in a timely manner.”

Say What?!-(Life & Style)

“People say I look really good, and it’s because I sleep a lot, which is the biggest collagen booster ever.  It’s amazing that I achieve anything considering how much I sleep.  I snooze during the day and eight or nine hours at night.”-Helena Bonham Carter, who turns 55 in May.

Lost Lamb Spends The Night In Jail

Police in Ireland said a lost lamb found wandering loose in a roadway spent the night in a jail cell before being reunited with its owners.  The Garda, Ireland’s national police force, said officers were called to a street in Clonmel, Tipperary, where drivers reported seeing a lamb wandering solo in the road.  The lamb was rounded up and the Garda tweeted photos of the animal spending the night in a jail cell while officers worked to identify its owners.  Police said the lamb was returned to its owner the next morning.  “This little fella was found over the weekend by Gardai in Clonmel after he became separated from his flock,” the Garda tweeted. “Many thanks to the person who phoned this in after locating him on the road. He was cared for overnight and returned to his grateful owner yesterday morning.”

Monitor Lizard Rescued From Busy Road

A pair of police officers in Singapore were caught on camera rescuing a giant monitor lizard that wandered out into a busy road.  A group filming for educational website Just Keep Thinking spotted the lizard in the middle of Republic Avenue in Kallang on Sunday and flagged down a pair of nearby police officers.  The group filmed as one of the officers grabbed the lizard by the tail and pointed the reptile toward the side of the road, attempting to coax the reptile into walking to safety on its own.  The lizard did not cooperate with the officer’s attempts, leading him to lift the monitor and carry it to the side of the road, eliciting cheers from onlookers. The officers left the lizard near the shoreline of the Kallang Basin.  See the video HERE.

Breakfast Burrito Filled With Drugs

Illegal drugs hidden in a breakfast food were found earlier this month by Transportation Security Administration officials at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, according to a report.  “Breakfast burritos are delicious but officers were surprised to find crystal meth inside the one pictured,” the agency wrote on social media.  The smuggling attempt was revealed via an unidentified lump inside of the food during a routine x-ray screening of carry-on luggage on April 2. TSA officers asked to inspect it further, requesting the traveler to unwrap it.  Under protest, the traveler unwrapped it and officers could see a dark object in the middle of the burrito. A second X-ray of the food revealed black tape and a large organic mass, according to KPRC, the NBC-affiliated TV station in Houston.   “I commend the actions of our TSOs and supervisory TSO who noticed something wasn’t quite right and for acting on their instincts. Their attention to detail and follow-up response led to the discovery of crystal meth, a dangerous and illegal substance,” the TSA Federal Security Director Hector Vela, said in a statement.

Groom Ends Up At Wrong Wedding

A GPS snafu almost led a groom to marry the wrong woman in Indonesia.  On April 4, the groom, whose identity has not been disclosed, used Google Maps to get to his wedding venue in Magelang, a city in Central Java. However, the engaged man wound up at the wrong address, according to local outlet TribunNews.com.  Instead of the arriving at the venue where his wedding was supposed to take place, the groom and his entourage stopped at the house that was highlighted on the location app. Unbeknownst to the group, an engagement party was being hosted at the house for another couple couple, complete with loved ones and photographer present.  The groom’s entourage reportedly shook hands with the family, exchanged offerings and took what they thought were their seats.  It was not clear to the two groups that a mishap had occurred since the groom’s guests assumed the attendees who were already there were family members of the bride. Meanwhile, the woman’s family assumed the new arrivals were family members of the fiancé.  When the mistake was finally discovered, the groom and his wedding party promptly exited the home with their offerings in tow.  “[The groom] said that the share location point stopped near my house,” Ulfa, 27, told the Indonesian news outlet. “Sometimes the internet can shift if it is not smooth.”  As for the groom and his family, Tribun reports they quickly left to find their correct wedding venue, which was being hosted in another part of the Losari Village.
*********What did the other bride look like?? Maybe wanted to switch!!!

5 Ways to Splurge On Something Without the Guilt (Or Financial Ruin)

The Penny Hoarder

  1. Get $50 in Gift Cards Just for Buying Groceries

We bet $50 would make a difference toward your next splurge, right? Well, a free app called Fetch Rewards will reward you with gift cards just for buying toilet paper and more than 250 other items at the grocery store. Right now, it’s even offering shoppers a $10 gift card when they spend $30 on dozens of Unilever products at the grocery store. You can do this five times, or up to $50.

Here’s how it works: After you’ve downloaded the app, just look for products branded with the Unilever “U.” Then take a picture of your receipt showing you purchased an item from one of the participating brands. For your efforts, you’ll earn gift cards to places like Amazon or Walmart.

You can download the free Fetch Rewards app here to start getting free gift cards. Over a million people already have, so they must be onto something.

  1. Make a Little Savings Account Just for Splurges

This way, you can steadily save up money for your guilty pleasure, your heart’s true desire. Create a category just for splurges and let it build up over time.

Maybe you’re just looking for a place to safely stash your money away — but still earn money. Under your mattress or in a safe will get you nothing. And a typical savings account won’t do you much better. (Ahem, 0.05% is nothing these days.)

But a debit card called Aspiration lets you earn up to 5% cash back and up to 16 times the average interest on the money in your account.

Not too shabby!

Enter your email address here to get a free Aspiration Spend and Save account. After you confirm your email, securely link your bank account so they can start helping you get extra cash. Your money is FDIC insured and they use a military-grade encryption, which is nerd talk for “this is totally safe.”

  1. How You Could Hit a $25K Jackpot — Just for Saving Your Own Money

Here’s another way to look at saving for a splurge: If you combine the excitement of potentially swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck with your seriousness about saving, you end up with a PrizePool banking account.

So how does PrizePool work, exactly? When you download the free app, you’ll connect your existing bank account and make a deposit. It uses Plaid, a Visa company, to ensure your information is safe and secure.

Here’s the fun part: Each day, Prize Pool gives you an entry ticket for every dollar you have in your account. So if you have $100 in your account every day in October, you’ll have 3,100 tickets.

Then, on the first of every month, PrizePool enters your tickets into its monthly drawing. (The more tickets you have, the better your chances of winning!)

You could win any amount — from $2 to $25,000. It gives away a combined total of $50,000 in cash prizes. Every. Single. Month.

Unlike the Powerball tickets you keep trying your luck on, there’s no buy-in or fees. If you’re 18 or older and live in the U.S., this is just a safe place to potentially grow your money for free. If you download the app and make a deposit today, you can increase your odds of winning this month’s $25,000 grand prize immediately.

  1. Make Sure You’re Not Overpaying for Something Else

To get closer to your splurge, it’s best if you don’t overpay for some other purchase — no matter what it is.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you got an alert when you’re shopping online at Target and are about to overpay? That’s exactly what this free service does.

Just add it to your browser for free, and before you check out, it’ll check other websites, including Walmart, eBay and others to see if your item is available for cheaper. Plus, you can get coupon codes, set up price-drop alerts and even see the item’s price history.

Let’s say you’re shopping for a new TV, and you assume you’ve found the best price. Here’s when you’ll get a pop up letting you know if that exact TV is available elsewhere for cheaper. If there are any available coupon codes, they’ll also automatically be applied to your order.

In the last year, this has saved people $160 million.

You can get started in just a few clicks to see if you’re overpaying online.

  1. Knock $540/Year From Your Car Insurance in Minutes

Speaking of overpaying for things, when’s the last time you checked car insurance prices? Paying less for mandatory bills like that will get you closer to your splurge.

You should shop your options every six months or so — it could save you some serious money. Let’s be real, though. It’s probably not the first thing you think about when you wake up. But it doesn’t have to be.

A website called Insure makes it super easy to compare car insurance prices. All you have to do is enter your ZIP code and your age, and it’ll show you your options — and even discounts in your area.

Using Insure, people have saved an average of $540 a year.

Yup. That could be $500 back in your pocket just for taking a few minutes to look at your options.

C’mon, what’s your next splurge?

What do you covet?

There must be something. Whatever it is, following these five tips will get you closer to it.
