Super Mario Bros Movie Delayed
Nintendo has announced that its animated Super Mario Bros. movie from Universal and Illumination Entertainment has been delayed to April 2023. The film, an adaptation of the popular video game series of the same name, was originally set for release on Dec. 21. Super Mario Bros. will now be coming to North America on April 7, 2023 and to Japan on April 28, 2023. Super Mario Bros. creator Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo made the announcement on the company’s official Twitter account while mentioning producer Chris Meledandri. “My deepest apologies but I promise it will be well worth the wait,” Miyamoto said. Chris Pratt will be voicing Mario with Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan Michael-Key as Toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are serving as directors, based off a script by Matthew Fogel. The plot of the film remains under wraps.

“Selling Sunset” star Emma Hernan said her claim that Ben Affleck hit her up on Raya “blew up out of proportion” after he denied he ever made a move. Hernan explained on E!’s “Daily Pop” Monday that her Netflix reality show created a “whole misconception” by making it seem like Affleck, who is engaged to Jennifer Lopez, tried linking up with her on the dating app recently. “It was not recent. J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot is partnering up with Warner Bros. for a live-action Hot Wheels movie, yet another sign that Mattel is getting quite serious about the filmmaking business. A press release described it as a showcase of “some of the world’s hottest and sleekest cars, monster trucks and motorcycles.” Speaking about the collaboration, Mattel Films’ executive producer Robbie Brenner did not provide any plot details but did allude to the new project being aimed at a broad swath of the Hot Wheels fanbase. “As the global leader in car culture, Hot Wheels has been igniting the challenger spirit in auto enthusiasts for generations,” said Brenner. “Fans of all ages are now in for the ride of their lives with the incredible talent of J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot joining us alongside Warner Bros. Pictures to transform Hot Wheels’ legendary IP into a thrilling story for the big screen.” Unlike Mattel’s upcoming Barbie film, which already has a handful of stars attached and a central figure who more easily lends herself to cohesive narratives, details are scant about Hot Wheels, a movie based on cars you move around with the power of your imagination. Alligator Knocks On The Door
Authorities in Florida responded to a report of an “animal problem” in a residential neighborhood and arrived to find an alligator scratching at the front door of a home. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that deputies responded Sunday night “to a call about an animal problem” at a Flagler County home. The deputies arrived to find an alligator on the doorstep of the home, apparently trying to find a way into the residence. The sheriff’s office said deputies and personnel from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission relocated the gator to a more suitable habitat “away from the residential area.” See the video HERE.

An all-electric FedEx delivery van broke a Guinness World Record when it made the nearly 260-mile drive from New York City to Washington, D.C., on a single charge. Brightdrop, a subsidiary of General Motors, announced FedEx driver Stephen Marlin drove the BrightDrop Zevo 600 van from New York City to Washington, D.C., making stops along the way in cities including Philadelphia and Baltimore. The van, which was carrying sustainable cleaning products from Full Circle to retailer Mom’s Organic Market, completed the 258.85-mile trip on a single charge, earning the Guinness World Record for greatest distance traveled by an electric van on a single charge. The journey was timed to coincide with Earth Day on Friday.

Woman Says TikTok Caused Her To Lose Job
A Florida woman says she was fired from her job at Dollar General after she began posted TikTok videos accusing the company of treating its employees unfairly and creating unsafe working conditions. “I open the store at 8 a.m., and I basically had to run the entire store. I had to check in and out customers, I had to do my paperwork, I had to check in vendors, I had to check in a mystery truck that just showed up out of nowhere,” Mary Gundel, who managed a Dollar General store near Tampa, said. “I had no help, I don’t have enough hours given to me for me to actually be a manager within the business. And that’s a big safety concern within the company.”Gundel created the hashtag “Putinaticket” which is meant to mock how Dollar General handles complaints by employees, by telling them to “put in a ticket.” As a result of her TikToks, other Dollar General employees began posting their work experiences at Dollar General as well. A Dollar General spokesperson said the company had spoken with Gundel about the violations of company policy it says she committed.

Florida Bride Serves Pot Food At Reception
A 42-year-old Florida bride and her 31-year-old caterer are accused of serving food laced with marijuana to unsuspecting guests at a wedding reception. The women were arrested Monday following an investigation by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, according to court records. Both women were charged with tampering, culpable negligence, and delivery of marijuana and later bonded out of jail. Investigators said in an arrest affidavit that guests began feeling ill during the Feb. 19 event at a clubhouse in Longwood, which is near Orlando. The report says 30 to 40 people attended the event. Several people who said they felt “stoned” were taken to the hospital for treatment. The arrest report says several tested positive for THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana. A detective wrote in the report that guests said they had not been warned about the laced food. One man told deputies he was having a hard time operating his cellphone. Others said they felt paranoid and high. Another guest told deputies that after feeling stoned, she asked the bride if cannabis was in the food and was told “yes” by the smiling bride, an affidavit said.
