Prince Andrew Sued
Prince Andrew was sued by one of Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime accusers. Attorneys for Virginia Giuffre filed the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court, where the American financier was charged criminally with sex trafficking a month before he killed himself at age 66 in August 2019. At the time, Epstein was in an adjacent federal jail where he was ordered to await trial. She previously made waves when she went public with her accusations against the Duke of York, alleging he abused her when she was under 18 including at Epstein’s Manhattan home. She has repeatedly made her allegations against Epstein, his onetime girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, and Andrew, but the lawsuit was the first time she has directly confronted the son of Queen Elizabeth II in such a formal setting. The case alleges that Andrew engaged in sexual acts without her consent, knowing how old she was and “that she was a sex-trafficking victim,” the BBC reported on Tuesday. The case noted that the “extreme and outrageous conduct” continues to cause Giuffre “significant emotional and psychological distress and harm.” “In this country no person, whether president or prince, is above the law, and no person, no matter how powerless or vulnerable, can be deprived of the law’s protection,” the documents read, as quoted by the outlet. “Twenty years ago Prince Andrew’s wealth, power, position, and connections enabled him to abuse a frightened, vulnerable child with no one there to protect her,” the documents continued. “It is long past the time for him to be held to account.”

New Morticia Addams Named
Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to play Morticia Addams, the matriarch of the Addams family in a Netflix series. According to a press release, she will appear in “Wednesday” as a guest star in the live-action Netflix series, which is being produced and directed by Tim Burton. Additionally, Luis Guzmán will play Morticia’s husband Gomez while Jenna Ortega will play the title character. The series is told from the perspective of Wednesday Addams, the daughter of Morticia and Gomez during her days as a student at Nevermore Academy as she works to develop her powers as a psychic in order to save a local town from a killing spree, per Variety. Zeta-Jones is one of several actresses to play Morticia Addams recently. In 2019’s animated “The Addam’s Family” and its sequel due out later this year, Charlize Theron voiced the character while Anjelica Huston portrayed her in a pair of movies in the early 1990s. On the television side, Carolyn Jones and Ellie Harvie have played the role in shows based on the family.

Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow, is engaged. She said “yes” to her boyfriend Louis Thornton-Allan and shared a look of her ring on Instagram Monday. While standing in a pool, a grinning Meadow put her hand in front of her face to show off her ring in a video filmed by her now-fiancé. “<3 <3 <3 <3,” she wrote in her caption. Her late dad’s “Fast and Furious” co-star Jordana Brewster “liked” the post. Thornton-Allan, an actor, also shared the video on his Instagram Story and added two blue heart emojis and a star emoji. It’s unclear how long the couple have been dating, but they became Instagram-official in July with a photo of themselves cuddling on a couch. Meadow spent some time on the set of “F9” along with Walker’s brothers, Cody and Caleb, according to an interview with franchise star Ludacris. Two years after his death, Meadow sued Porsche for wrongful death, claiming that the vehicle her father was in at the time of the crash that killed him had a number of design defects. Christina Applegate revealed she’s been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She announced the news Tuesday on Twitter, saying she received the news “a few months ago.” “Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition,” she wrote. “It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a–hole blocks it.” Following her initial tweet, she asked for privacy as she focuses on her health. “As one of my friends that has MS said ‘we wake up and take the indicated action’. And that’s what I do,” she wrote. “So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo.” She has fought many health battles, including beating breast cancer. Applegate underwent a double mastectomy in 2008 and also had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in 2017 to avoid ovarian cancer.

Kelly Clarkson’s Divorce Payout Breakdown
Kelly Clarkson is still entrenched in an ongoing battle with her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock and according to reports, she is bearing the brunt of many expenses although he will still have to pony up big in order to maintain his current living arrangement. She is said to be on the hook for $150,000 per month in spousal support while she and Blackstock continue to iron out the details of their contentious divorce and she’s also been ordered to pay an additional $45,000 per month in child support while he takes on the payments for the ranch the pair own in Montana – this according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Although the court found that Clarkson pulls in around $1.5 million per month to his $10,000 per month, the judge presiding over the case maintained that since Blackstock will be using the ranch as a primary residence, he is responsible for the estimated $81,000 per month it requires to run the property, which includes mortgage, taxes, insurance, etc. For now, Clarkson is to pay 70% of their children’s private school tuition and other related expenses. She filed for divorce on June 4, 2020, after nearly seven years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Real Snake On A Plane!
Wildlife trappers were summoned to an airport in India when workers found themselves in a situation of life imitating art: a snake on a plane. Kolkata Airport officials confirmed a baggage handler for airline IndiGo was preparing the plane for a flight to Mumbai when he spotted the snake in the cargo hold before passengers began boarding. A Kolkata Forest Department officer was summoned to the scene and a video recorded at the airport shows the trapper struggling to contain the large reptile on the tarmac. The scene evoked comparisons to the 2006 action/comedy film Snakes on a Plane. The snake was later identified as a non-venomous rat snake. Officials said they believe the snake slithered aboard the plane while it was being unloaded from an earlier flight. See the pics and video HERE.

Bear Wanders Into Supermarket
A young adult bear was tranquilized and relocated after it wandered into a Los Angeles supermarket that was full of shoppers. The Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded about 6:45 a.m. Saturday to the Ralphs supermarket in the Porter Ranch neighborhood, where shoppers initially reported multiple bears inside the store. Officers arrived to find only one bear inside the business. It was unclear if there had been others or if the initial reports had been mistaken. David Balen, of the Porter Ranch neighborhood council, shared photos and video of the bear’s trip to the store on Facebook. “After fleeing the scene, the bear was missing in action until found hiding under a trailer on the north east corner of Walmart,” Balen wrote. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service tranquilized the bear. See the video HERE.

Stolen Class Ring Found In New Home
A college class ring stolen from a Rhode Island home during a house party 20 years ago was returned to its owner’s finger after being spotted on social media. Jim O’Brien said he threw a house party at his family’s house about 20 years ago, and during the event one of the attendees stole multiple items from the home, including his father’s Boston University class ring. O’Brien said he was scrolling a local Facebook group for Warwick, R.I., recently when he came across a post from a woman named Lisa who said she had found a ring in a closet while cleaning out the home she recently purchased. “I saw the physical therapy sign and I knew right away it was my father’s ring,” O’Brien told WJAR-TV. O’Brien met with the woman and surprised his father, Bob O’Brien, with the ring at his Warwick home during the weekend. “It’s like full circle,” Bob O’Brien said. “You graduate from college and get your college ring and retirement is coming up in two years and I got the ring back.”

Just Another Day In Florida!
A Florida man was arrested Thursday after biting off part of his friend’s ear during an early morning brawl at a Key West hotel, authorities said. James Lenn Williams, 45, of Port St. Lucie, was hit with multiple battery charges following the 2:30 a.m. incident at the Oceans Edge Resort & Marina on Stock Island, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Williams was on vacation at the hotel with three friends – a man and two women – when they got into a fight while returning to the hotel, the sheriff’s office said. The fight started when one of the women passed out and Williams decided to place her in a maintenance wheelbarrow, authorities said. As Williams was transporting her to the hotel room, he started pouring beer on her and insulting her, the group told deputies. That drew ire from the other man in the group, who told Williams that he was being disrespectful, the sheriff’s office said. Williams then became combative toward his 28-year-old friend. The trio — including the woman who passed out, after she awakened — attempted to calm Williams down, but the suspect pushed both women to the ground, according to deputies. “Williams then pushed the male victim to the ground and began choking him,” the sheriff’s office said. “The male victim stated that Williams bit part of his ear off while others were trying to separate them.” Deputy Nicholas Galbo responded to the scene and found the bite victim being treated by paramedics. Part of his ear was “missing and still bleeding,” the sheriff’s office said, though none of the victim’s injuries were life-threatening.

7 Social Security Spousal Benefit Rules Every Married Couple Should Know

- You can get up to 50% of your spouse’s full benefit.
The maximum spousal benefit is 50% of your spouse’s primary insurance amount. That’s the benefit they’ll qualify for once they’re full retirement age, which is 67 for anyone born in 1960 or later.
If you take benefits before your own retirement age, you’ll get less than 50%. For example, if you start your benefits at 62 — the earliest age you can take Social Security — you’d receive just 32.5% of their primary amount.
- You don’t get to claim both benefits.
Sorry, but the perks of marriage don’t include double-dipping. Social Security will give you whichever is higher: your own benefit or your spouse’s benefit, but not both.
If you qualify for some benefits based on your earnings history, technically Social Security will use your own record first. Then they’ll use your spouse’s record to get you the maximum benefit.
- There’s no extra credit for waiting past full retirement age for spouses.
When you take Social Security on your own record, you’ll get the maximum benefit at age 70. That’s because for every year you delay Social Security, you boost your checks by 8% for life thanks to delayed retirement credits.
But if you’re taking spousal benefits, you can’t earn delayed retirement benefits. Your benefits will max out once you reach full retirement age.
- You can’t claim a spouse’s Social Security disability.
You can only claim Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) if you’ve paid into Social Security yourself and have a qualifying medical condition. You can’t take disability on someone else’s record, including a spouse’s.
- Divorcing? You may still be able to get their benefits.
If you were married for at least 10 years and you’ve been divorced for at least two years, you can claim your ex’s Social Security. The same spousal rules apply: Your maximum benefit will be 50% of their primary amount. You’ll receive a lower amount if you claim early, and you won’t earn delayed retirement credits for waiting past your full retirement age.
Your ex-spouse needs to be at least 62 for you to claim on their record. Your decision will have absolutely no effect on your ex-spouse. Likewise, if someone you’ve divorced takes Social Security on your record, your benefits won’t be reduced.
- If you’ve remarried, you can’t claim your ex’s benefits.
Once you remarry, you’re not allowed to claim your ex’s Social Security. But once you’ve been married a year, you can qualify for benefits on your current spouse’s record. If you’ve had more than one marriage that lasted 10 years or more and ended in divorce, Social Security will look at everyone’s record — yours and each ex-spouse’s — and give you the biggest benefit.
- Survivor’s benefits are up to 100% of the deceased spouse’s benefit.
If your spouse dies before you, you can qualify for up to 100% of their Social Security through survivor benefits if you wait until your full retirement age. You can start survivor benefits as early as 60 (or 50 if you’re disabled), but you’ll receive a reduced amount. These rules apply to ex-spouses as well, provided that the marriage lasted for 10 years. As with spousal benefits, you’ll get whichever is bigger: your own benefit or the survivor benefit, but not both.
There’s also an exception to the remarriage rule for surviving spouses: Widowed and ex-spouses who qualify for survivor benefits can remarry at 60 (or 50 if disabled) and continue to receive their late spouse’s benefits.
