Meghan Markle Talks About Archie’s Nursery Catching Fire
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son, Archie, could have been seriously injured when his nursery caught on fire during their 2019 South Africa tour. She was finishing up a royal engagement at the time when she and Harry were told that there “had been a fire in the baby’s room,” she told Serena Williams on the first episode of her “Archetypes” podcast. Fortunately, their nanny Lauren had taken Archie, who was 4 months old at the time, downstairs to grab a snack, so the baby was not in the room when the fire started. “Her instinct was like, ‘Let me just bring him with me before I put him down,’” Markle said, noting that the caretaker was from Zimbabwe and often carried the toddler “on her back with a mud cloth.” While Lauren and Archie were out of the room, “the heater in the nursery caught fire.” Since there was “no smoke detector” there, someone “happened to smell the smoke down the hallway” and extinguished the flames. “He was supposed to be sleeping in there,” Markle said. “Of course, as a mother, you go, ‘Oh, my God.’ Everyone’s in tears, everyone’s shaken.”

Gary Busey Denies Charges
Gary Busey has denied the claims that he allegedly groped two women at the “Monster-Mania” convention in Cherry Hill, N.J. earlier this month. He was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact, one count of criminal attempt/criminal sexual contact and one count of harassment after he allegedly touched two fans inappropriately. However, he told TMZ on Monday that “nothing happened” with the two women who accused him and further added that he didn’t have “any regrets” about the way he acted at the convention. “It was all false,” he claimed when asked if the allegations were true. “I don’t care because there are no accusations.” He then added that the interaction with the “two girls took less than 10 seconds” before “they left.” “Then they made their story,” he claimed, before alleging that “his partner and the camerawoman” were his witnesses, reiterating that “nothing happened.” In an odd turn of events, paparazzi caught Busey pulling his pants down at a public park in California on Sunday — one day after he was charged. In the video, he was sitting on a bench at Point Dume Park in Malibu with his sweatpants around his knees. His hands were crossed over his legs before he untied his pants to properly pull them back up. It is unclear why Busey was half naked, but it is not the first time he has done so in public. He reportedly did the same multiple times while participating in the UK version of “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2014.

Batgirl Footage Locked Up
The “Batgirl” directors revealed they don’t have any saved footage of the film, but still hope to release it one day. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah told the SKRIPT YouTube channel in an interview that they don’t have any footage from “Batgirl,” claiming the studio blocked their access to the production servers after it was shelved. “We have nothing! Adil called me and said, ‘Go ahead shoot some things on your cellphone.’ I went on the server and everything was blocked,” Fallah said. “We were like, ‘F—king s—t!’,” said El Arbi. “’All the scenes with Batman in them! S—t!’” The duo said in the interview that they were in the middle of the editing process when Warner Bros. decided to shelve the film. “The guys from Warners told us, ‘It was not a talent problem from our part or the actress, or even the quality of the movie,’” said El Arbi, who was speaking in French. “They told us it was a strategic change. There was new management, and they wanted to save some money.”

Last “Wonderful Life” Adult Dies
A Cleveland-born actor most famous for her role in “It’s a Wonderful Life” has died at age 97. Virginia Patton Moss, who played Ruth Dakin Bailey in the movie died Thursday, Aug. 18 of natural causes, a funeral home obituary confirmed. She was the last surviving adult cast member of the film, according to People. “We have another angel,” Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu, the daughter of Jimmy Stewart’s character, George Bailey, said on Facebook. “She is now with her beloved Cruse. She will be missed.” Cruse Moss, Patton Moss’ husband of nearly 70 years, passed away in 2018. She is survived by two children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Elton John Releases Sneak Peak Of Britney Collaboration
“Hold Me Closer,” Elton John’s new collaboration with Britney Spears, won’t be released until this Friday, but we now have our first taste of the track. He posted a 14-second snippet of the song on TikTok. It features Spears’ voice singing the chorus of his 1972 hit “Tiny Dancer” — “Hold me closer tiny dancer/ Count the headlights on the highway” — paired with his original vocal over a dance beat, with some “woo-hoos” in the middle. He also shared a preview on Instagram, singing along to the track. The cover art was also recently released. The single’s artwork features a famous picture of John as a child sitting at a piano, as well as a photo of Spears as a little girl wearing a pink dance costume. Take a listen HERE.

Ben & Jennifer: Forever Dream Home-(In Touch)
The house-hunting is over! Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have called off their search for a new home. Instead, the newlyweds will move into J.Lo’s French country-inspired Bel-Air estate. The property, which J.Lo bought from actress Sela Ward in 2016 for $28 million. The 7 bedroom, 13 bath home is will first undergo extensive renovations that could take a year. In the meantime, Bennifer have rented James Packer’s $60 million manse in Beverly Hills. James, of course, is the former fiancé of Mariah Carey, who once famously said she didn’t know who J.Lo was.

Dino Run
More than 150 people donned dinosaur costumes at a Washington racetrack and ran a 1/16-mile race to find the fastest T-Rex in the pack. Emerald Downs in Auburn hosted its first T-Rex Race since 2019, when photos and videos of the event made a viral splash online. Sunday’s race featured more than 150 participants, a new record for the event, which was sponsored by TriGuard Pest Control. Auburn resident Logan Kludsikofsky took first place in the adult race, while Sebastian Davis, 13, of Silverdale, Wash., won the kids race. See the video HERE.

TikTok’er Breaks Restaurant Record
A TikTok cooking duo earned their third Guinness World Record by visiting 69 fast food restaurants in a 24-hour period in New York. Chefs Nick DiGiovanni and Lynn Davis, aka Lynja, chose Manhattan as the location for their attempt at the Guinness World Record because they could visit all 69 eateries with a single 8-mile walk. The pair, who previously earned records by cooking up the world’s largest chicken nugget and world’s largest cake pop, were accompanied on their restaurant-hopping adventure by Guinness World Records adjudicator Andrew Glass. The duo were required to purchase and consume at least one food or drink item at each location — but the rules didn’t stipulate they had to do the consuming themselves, so at several locations other customers waiting in line were treated to free food. The journey began at 8:30 a.m. at the McDonald’s in Times Square, and other locations visited along the 8-mile path included Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, Taco Bell, Shake Shack, Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, Wendy’s, Chipotle and Five Guys.

Giant Cornhole Match
The Iowa State Fair earned a Guinness World Record when 730 people participated in a cornhole tournament. The fair said 730 people entered the tournament to play cornhole, a game that involves throwing beanbag-like bags of corn at wooden targets with holes for scoring points. The tournament broke the record of 444 participants at a cornhole tournament in San Diego in 2019. A Guinness World Records adjudicator was on hand at the Iowa tournament to verify it was a new world record. “The team of Scott Strasburger and Chris Gehrls of Cedar Rapids topped the doubles teams to win first place. Zach Burns and Braden Nicholson of Norwalk took home second place, and Wesley Deevers and James Thudium of Ottumwa claimed third place,” the fair said in an announcement on its website.

Florida Man Hides Meth Under Cop Car
A Florida man was arrested Thursday after he tried to stash some meth under a deputy’s patrol vehicle during a traffic stop. Body cam video showed a responding deputy tell Lee Sanberg that she needed to get her written warning from another deputy who was patting down her boyfriend, 49-year-old John Schneider. While he was being patted down, Schneider was spotted dropped a bag under the deputy’s patrol vehicle, prompting the deputies to handcuff him immediately. “He just dropped a bag that looked like dope,” one of the deputies said. “Aww man,” the man’s girlfriend responded. Detectives said Schneider had dropped a half of pound of methamphetamine that he bought outside Volusia County. The man was suspected of taking it to a home in Orange City where he would sell it, according to the sheriff’s office. Sanberg was also handcuffed while saying that the methamphetamine wasn’t hers. Meanwhile, Schneider acted like the methamphetamine wasn’t his. “I mean, whatever, you might as well try to lie,” the deputy said, laughing. “You ain’t got nothing to lose.” Deputies said they found another gram in Schneider’s right sock.
