Ashton Kutcher Opens Up About Ex-Wife’s Book

Ashton Kutcher admits he was “f–king pissed” when his ex-wife Demi Moore’s memoir, “Inside Out,” hit bookstores in September 2019.  Although he does not “want to open anything up in that realm,” he told Esquire in a cover story published Tuesday how the book’s release affected his family.  “I’d finally gotten to a place where the press had really laid off me and [my wife] Mila [Kunis] and my life and my family,” Kutcher, who is the father of daughter Wyatt, 8, and son Dimitri, 6, explained.  “And then the next day, [the paparazzi] are at my kids’ school,” the former “Punk’d” host continued, with the profile noting he does not have any “hard feelings” for Moore.  He was married to her from 2005 to 2013.  In her book, Moore reflected on the two threesomes she and the actor had during their time together, also accusing him of influencing her relapse. Moore was already a mother when she met Kutcher. He became a stepfather to Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, whom Moore shared with ex-husband Bruce Willis.  “I was 26, bearing the responsibility of an 8-year-old, a 10-year-old, and a 12-year-old,” Kutcher recalled, noting that he still maintains a relationship with his former stepkids.

Flavor Flav’s Crazy Drug Addiction

Flavor Flav is opening up about how his drug addiction controlled his life.  After celebrating two years of sobriety in October, he said he “never really let people know exactly” what was going on with him at the height of his addiction as he appeared last week on the Off the Record with DJ Akademiks podcast.  “There was a time that I was spending $2,400 to $2,600 a day… for six years straight, you do the math,” he said. “That’s how much I spent on drugs.”  During the worst periods of his addiction, he was spending almost $1 million on drugs a year.  He was also dealing and dipping into his own supply.  “I ain’t gonna lie, I sold a lot. But I was my best customer … I had a lot of money at the time too, I was just doing the wrong things with my money,” Flav recalled.  “Drugs are easy to get on, and they’re hard as hell to get off of,” Flav added.
*******It would be nice if his story prevented someone from taking drugs.. but it won’t!!

Tom Hanks and Robin Wright To Get De-Aged!

Tom Hanks and Robin Wright will be de-aged as their reunite with Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis’ for his upcoming film, Here. They will be joined by Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly in the adaptation of Richard McGuire’s comic set in one room over a number of years. The movie is set to come out in 2024. The production company is partnering with Metaphysic, an AI company famous for its @DeepTomCruise accounts on social media, especially TikTok where it has amassed a following of 5 million users. The company also gained popularity on America’s Got Talent for its deepfakes. Here will use the new tool Metaphysic Live to de-age the stars without any need for VFX or further work, according to a release.  “I’ve always been attracted to technology that helps me to tell a story,” Zemeckis said in a statement. “With Here, the film simply wouldn’t work without our actors seamlessly transforming into younger versions of themselves. Metaphysic’s AI tools do exactly that, in ways that were previously impossible!”

Wheel Of Fortune Contestant Disputes Category

A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant may have lost the bonus round puzzle during his appearance on the show, but he won over viewers.  On a recent episode, Ben Tucker, from California, gazed at the big board as the clock ticked away and did his best to figure out the puzzle at hand with just five letters and a category to go on. The answer escaped him, and when host Pat Sajak revealed the solution, Tucker offered a theory as to why.  The category for the four-word conundrum was “Fun & Games,” and the answer was “taking a quick jog.”  It was a combo that prompted Tucker to give Sajak a blunt response, stating, “Well, see, I don’t consider jogging fun and games.”   “Oh, well there you go,” said the host, as Tucker gave the live audience a thumbs-up and they gave him a smattering of applause.  At the beginning of the episode, Sajak had teased Tucker while introducing him, saying, “You’re going to be trouble, aren’t you?”  Over on social media, however, Tucker earned a bigger reaction from the at-home audience.  “Finally! A contestant finally speaks out about the answers not matching the category!” one fan wrote when the official “Wheel of Fortune” Instagram account shared a clip of the exchange. “The kid was great!”  See the video HERE.

Pamela Anderson Didn’t Know Tommy Lee’s Last Name

Pamela Anderson admits in her new memoir that she knew very little about Tommy Lee when they eloped in Mexico in 1995.  “On the flight home, I asked him what our last name was, and he said, ‘Lee,’” the actress recalls in “Love, Pamela,” which hit bookstores Tuesday. “I said, ‘Oh, I thought it was Tommy Lee … something. Jones?’”  Anderson writes that she then asked Lee “where he lived,” to which he responded, “Malibu Road.”  Although the couple had only known each other for a few days when they said “I do,” she remembers being “in heaven” and “never letting” go of him.  Anderson’s mother, on the other hand, was less than thrilled when she heard the news.  “She was furious. ‘Who’s Tommy?’” the “Baywatch” star writes. “She couldn’t believe I had gotten married, cried that she had always dreamed of being at her only daughter’s wedding.”  Anderson defends herself, though, admitting that while her decision to run away with Lee “was definitely out of character,” she was “genuinely happy” and “lost in a sea of love.”

Name A Cockroach

An obscure act of love, or pettiness, is becoming a popular tradition at zoos for Valentine’s Day.  Several zoos are offering the opportunity to name a cockroach as a Valentine’s gift. Couples are naming roaches after their significant others, or in some cases after their exes.  The Bronx Zoo in New York is offering Valentine’s roach packages ranging from $15 to $75. “The Works” package includes a tumbler, tote, a certificate commemorating the roach that is named and a virtual visit with the roach — a hissing cockroach — and a “surprise animal guest.”  “You don’t always have the right words, but you can still give them goosebumps. Name a Roach for your Valentine, because roaches are forever,” the Bronx Zoo said on its website.  At the San Antonio Zoo, scorned exes can name a cockroach after their former partners and watch it be eaten as part of its “Cry me a Cockroach Fundraiser.” They may also donate to name a rodent or a vegetable destined for the same fate. The ex will receive a virtual Valentine’s Day card informing them that a cockroach was named in their honor, and eaten.  According to the San Antonio Zoo, the most popular names during last year’s fundraiser were Jacob and Sarah.

Radioactive Lost and Found

A mining corporation apologized for losing a highly radioactive capsule over a 870-mile stretch of Western Australia, as authorities combed parts of the road looking for the tiny but dangerous substance. The capsule was part of a device believed to have fallen off a truck while being transported between a desert mine site and the city of Perth on Jan. 10.  The truck transporting the capsule arrived at a Perth depot on Jan. 16. Emergency services were notified of the missing capsule on Jan. 25.  Western Australia emergency services have called on other Australian states and the federal government for support finding the capsule as they lack equipment. The capsule measures 8 millimeters by 6 millimeters (0.31 inches by 0.24 inches), and people have been warned it could have unknowingly become lodged in their car’s tires.  The caesium 137 ceramic source, commonly used in radiation gauges, emits dangerous amounts of radiation, equivalent of receiving 10 X-rays in an hour. It could cause skin burns and prolonged exposure could cause cancer.  Police determined the incident to be an accident and no criminal charges are likely.

100 Year Old Has Advice

A British woman is letting the whole world know how she’s lived to be 100 years old — and how other people can, too.  Her most memorable tip for longevity?   “Avoid talking to strange men and you’ll be just fine,” Olive Westerman told SWNS during a high tea in her honor in Chester, England, recently.  When she was asked for more advice on how to live a long life, she said, “Simply be happy and content to be alive, and make the most of what you have.”  The centenarian told others that she was lucky to have enjoyed a happy marriage.  She said her late husband, Sam, was someone with “a kind and gentle nature.”  She also said she was lucky to be able to live overseas with him — and that their favorite spot together was Singapore.  He was reportedly a writer and travel clerk — and the couple lived in Singapore for three years. “It was such an interesting and exciting place to be, and so different from England, she said, as SWNS reported.

12 Baby Name Trends To Look Out For This Year

HUFFINGTON POST

Word Names

“Word names are a newer trend that I see sticking around for a while, said Gloria Kirk, the name consultant behind Naming Meadow. “Names such as Axel, Crew, Journey and Reign in the current top 500 are seeing their most popular years yet.”  She pointed to the popularity of this trend with celebrities like the Kardashians, who have given their children names like North, Reign, Saint, Dream, True, Stormi and Psalm.  “All of these names caught the attention of the public, and while some might think these names are too far out there, most of these names rose in popularity after the Kardashians used them,” Kirk noted.  In addition to the Kardashian-esque choices, name consultant Carly Zuno aka Moniker Maven believes the category of word names also includes more cottagecore-inspired choices.

“Unique word names such as Bear, Ridge, Tru, Seven, Navy, Clover, Halo, Dream and Ocean will continue to blossom,” she predicted. “I can see Nori, Love, Marigold, True, Stone, Ash, Ever and Lux being the next new additions to this trend.”

Goth Glam Names

“The biggest fashion trends always inspire names, and the fash-pack are loving dark academia and goth glam names,” said Sarah-Jayne Ljungstrom, a name consultant and host of the “Baby Name Envy” podcast.  She offered Rune, Inka and other literary-inspired gems like Elsinore (after Hamlet’s castle) and Wilde (as in Oscar, author of the gothic novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray”).

“Just make sure it’s not a phase, as we do see a lot more ‘fast fashion’ names coming in and out of the charts so always make sure to help clients find a name within a trend that has extra connection so that they will love it forever,” Ljungstrom added.

Eco Names

“Modern parents are turning to nature for inspiration more than ever as we yearn for a back-to-basics, slow-living lifestyle for our children,” Ljungstrom said. “Just as the plant-based trend has taken over our kitchens, we’re in the garden for names with Sage, Juniper, Moss and River all becoming more common names.”  Other nature-inspired names that have become popular in recent years include Willow, Oak, Ivy and Birch.

Scandinavian Names

“There have been a couple of influencers that have gone with some bold Scandi choices and now I’m seeing them appearing everywhere,” Kirk said.  She offered names like Solveig, Dagny, Runa, Liv, Alva, Otto, Leif and Viggo as examples.

“These names have a lot of history, and trendy sounds, yet nearly unheard of in the U.S., making these great for parents who want unique names that still hold up with what’s currently popular,” Kirk explained.

Vintage Names

“While it’s true that we can almost always expect names to cycle in popularity and see names that were once popular 100 years ago come back from the dead, I feel that vintage names are becoming trendier and are being used more in general,” Kirk said. “Sprinkled through the top 100 we can find old favorites such as Josephine, Silas, Adeline and Emmett. Vintage names are familiar yet can be unique in current times, like choosing Pearl or Thelma, which make them an excellent choice for those wanting an uncommon name, but not something unheard of.”

She noted that Marceline, Goldie, Mavis and Ambrose were among the fastest-rising names of 2021 and listed a number of vintage celebrity choices like Inez and Betty for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Rose Dorothy for Scarlett Johansson and Mae for Hilary Duff.  “Vintage nicknames as first names continues to be a huge popular trend bridging traditional naming with a more informal world our kids are being born into,” Ljungstrom added. “Winnie has been a breakout star for girls this year, Albie has been shooting through the charts the last five years and looks set to be in the top 10 in a year or two.”  She recommends Ludo or Connie for a less popular take on the trend that won’t dominate playgrounds in the years to come.

Three- To Four-Syllable Names

“While four-letter names dominated the popularity charts in the 2000-2010s, a new trend emerged during the pandemic ― the revival of longer, three- to four-syllable names,” said baby name consultant Taylor Humphrey. “Names like Theodore, Sebastian, Santiago and Ezekiel, or Josephine, Eliana, Genevieve and Magnolia offer a long and poetic sound, with a variety of easy and fun nickname options.”

Many of her clients want to establish a nickname for their child early on in their life, and these longer names are helpful in giving nickname options.

Animal Names

Parents have long looked to the animal kingdom for name inspiration, with picks like Robin and Jay consistently making the charts ― along with less popular “wild” choices.  “Names such as Colt, Bear and Wren are seeing their most popular years yet,” Kirk said. “These names are fun, whimsical and cute. I think we will continue to see these names rise and new ones popping up. I predict Lark, Sparrow, Bee, Fox, Kit, Wolf and Dove rising.”

Soft, Cozy Names

“There has certainly been an emerging demand amongst my clients for softer, cozier baby names,” said name consultant Lilia E. Corrigan of Heartbabynames. “Names that feel familiar yet fresh, and in reality are not within the top 200, so still hold individuality and feel unique ― ‘modern comfort names,’ if you will.”  In unsettling times like our recent pandemic years, people tend to crave warmth and comfort. As many of us turned to eating comfort foods, a lot of expectant parents have gravitated toward names that offer a similar feeling.

“Warm, cozy-feeling names outside of the top 200 should be kept an eye on this coming year for sure,” Corrigan said. “Names such as Griffin, Maisie, Sullivan and Fletcher certainly fit the bill in this category ― and are all names discussed with or considered by my clients this past year.”

B-Surname Names

“Modern feeling B-surnames for boys such as Banks, Bridger, Baker, Briggs and Bellamy really took off last year, and I can see them being increasingly popular in the coming years,” Zuno said. “Beckham was one of the pioneers of this trend, and it is now close to entering the top 200.”  She predicted names like Beck and Brighton will also join this group of B-surname picks in the near future.

Gender-Neutral Names

“Gender is at the center of a lot of name trends, not only for babies but in terms of young people changing their names due to gender identity,” said Pamela Redmond, co-founder of the popular baby names website Nameberry. “Of course there are so many trending gender-neutral names, from nature names like River and Sage to cross-cultural names like Kai and Rumi. But we see names for boys becoming softer and less conventionally masculine while at the same time girl names become stronger and more heroic.”  She noted that names like Robin and Kit, which were once more popular with girls, are increasingly going to baby boys and that many trending girl names come from heroines and goddesses like Aurora, Freya, Ophelia and Wednesday. Meanwhile, parents are also choosing traditionally masculine names for their daughters, as we’ve seen with James and Charlie.

“Parents have moved beyond gender neutral options like Finley, Dylan, River, and Riley and are starting to choose more classically masculine names like Ezra, Noah, Bennett, Carter, and Tristan for their little girls,” Humphrey said. “I’ve also seen parents opting for mid-century masculine nicknames for their daughters such as Frankie, Lenny and Lou.”

Courtly Names

“While rugged Dutton and spiritual Zion made my Top Three, I’m also watching names like Montgomery, Ambrose and Benedict,” Sandel said. “They’re old-world gentlemen that sound surprisingly fresh and wearable for boys born in the 2020s. Best of all, we know they’ll wear well across a lifetime.”  She also sees a similar trend with names for girls, which she dubbed “ladies-in-waiting” names.  “Elegant, elaborate choices like Guinevere and Eleanora are trending,” Sandel explained, adding that this contrasts the “sparky, sweet” nickname names like Goldie and Birdie that are also becoming popular.  One set is at home in a royal court ― the other fits better in a roadside diner,” she noted. “Some of the best names combine both qualities. Think of Theodora, called Teddie, or Maxima, known as Max.”

Modern Virtue Names

“While Temperance and Constance might seem a bit dated, there’s a new wave of virtue names that are becoming popular with parents,” Kirk said. “These are next-level word names that pack a punch and usually hold a lot of meaning for the parents.”  Rather than the old-fashioned Prudence or Patience, she predicts a rise in names like Revel, Candor, Merit, True, Wonder, Valor, Bliss and Brave.
