Flat Matthew McConaughey In New Super Bowl Ad

Matthew McConaughey’s entire body is flat in a new Super Bowl LV ad for Doritos 3D.  He struggles to live a normal life while flat, noting that he doesn’t feel like himself anymore.  McConaughey accidentally gets sucked up by a vacuum and has his flat appearance made fun of by Jimmy Kimmel on his late night show.  Mindy Kaling also appears as another guest of Kimmel’s and looks concerned about McConaughey’s predicament.  “Did you drive here or did you travel by fax,” Kimmel says.  McConaughey is able to turn back to his normal, fully-formed self after eating some Doritos 3D. Hollywood Sign Renamed

Six people having been arrested after altering California’s iconic “Hollywood” sign to read “Hollyboob.”  A tarp with the letter “B” was draped over the “W,” while a white dash was placed across the “D” in order to make it appear as a “B.” The Los Angeles Times reports that five men and one woman were seen on video surveillance around 1:15 p.m. When a police helicopter arrived, they could see the group move back down the steep terrain toward the famed Mulholland Drive.  The incident cannot be classified as vandalism “because the sign wasn’t damaged,” Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Capt. Steve Lurie, the Hollywood area commander said.  According to Deadline, one of the arrestees told an officer that the gag was done in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer.

New Social Media Reality Show

“Fake Famous” is a new HBO Max documentary.  The yearlong social experiment follows veteran technology journalist Nick Bilton as he attempts to turn three 20-somethings with small social-media followings into bona fide Instagram influencers. “When you look on Instagram, there are over 140 million people who have over 100,000 followers,” Bilton told The NY Post. “How is it that the entire population of Russia can be perceived as famous? It’s not possible.” Bilton, who is a special correspondent for Vanity Fair and has worked for the New York Times, was troubled by a survey he saw. “Kids in America want to be influencers more than any other career,” he said. For him, this project was about exposing the lies internet personalities tell to “make it” online, and shedding light on the darker side of the industry.  “I hope a few of them see this and realize it’s not what it looks like, it’s not what it’s perceived to be,” said Bilton, 44. “At the end of the day, it’s not about making people feel better, it’s about making people feel worse for your own self-worth.”  In early 2019, Bilton put out a casting call in LA — the influencer mecca — asking one simple question: “Do you want to be famous?” About 5,000 people applied.  The plan was to “get three different people from three different walks of life and see how it turns out for them,” Bilton said. “We wanted to show that really anyone could do it.”

Former porn star Jenna Jameson has revealed that she dumped Marilyn Manson because he bit her during sex — and fantasized about burning her alive.  She told DailyMail.com about her “odd” fling in 1997 with the shock rocker, who was dropped by his record label Monday as a slew of exes accused him of years of abuse.  “We didn’t go out long because I cut it off after he would nonchalantly say he fantasized about burning me alive,” she told the outlet. “Once he started speaking to me violently, I was like … goodbye, Brian,” she said, using his real name, Brian Warner.  “Also the bruises from him biting me weren’t fun,” she said, adding, “Sexually he liked to bite, and it was disconcerting.”  “He is a lot. Angelina Jolie Opens Up About Being A Stay At Home Mom

Angelina Jolie, who shares six children between the ages of 12 and 19 with ex-husband Brad Pitt — opened up about parenting during the pandemic in a recent interview with British Vogue’s global creativity issue.  “Well, I was never very good at sitting still. Even though I wanted to have many children and be a mom, I always imagined it kind of like Jane Goodall, traveling in the middle of the jungle somewhere,” she said in the March issue, which hits newsstands on Feb. 5, adding “I didn’t imagine it in that true, traditional sense.”  She continued, “I feel like I’m lacking in all the skills to be a traditional stay-at-home mom.”  But she believes she’s able to take care of her kids because they’re good at taking care of themselves.  “I’m managing through it because the children are quite resilient, and they’re helping me, but I’m not good at it at all,” she said.  Jolie and Pitt, who split up in September 2016, share Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Dolly Parton is eligible to get vaccinated against COVID-19, but she says she isn’t in a rush to get the inoculation.  Dolly, despite donating $1 million to vaccine development last year, says she wants to wait until ‘more people get theirs’ before she makes her appointment.  She explained that she didn’t want it to look like she was getting special preference because of her generous donation.  Ask if she’d received her shot, Parton said: ‘No. I’m not going to get mine until some more people get theirs. I don’t want it to look like I’m jumping the line just because I donated money. I’m very funny about that. I’m going to get mine though, but I’m going to wait.’  ‘I’m at the age where I could have gotten mine legally last week. I turned 75. I was going to do it on my birthday, and I thought, “Nah, don’t do that.”  She said she is fully committed to getting the shot and once she does, she’ll talk about it in hopes it’ll encourage people.

Girl Discovers Dinosaur Footprint

A dinosaur footprint found by a 4-year-old girl walking with her family at a Welsh beach is now headed to a museum, where it will be displayed alongside a plaque identifying its discoverer.  Richard Wilder said his family was walking Jan. 23 on Bendricks Bay beach in south Wales when his 4-year-old daughter, Lily, called his attention to a fossilized rock.  Wilder said the rock contained what the family believed to be a dinosaur footprint.  “It was almost too good to be true, how realistic it was. It was almost like someone had etched into the rock,” Wilder told CBC News.  The family’s Facebook post with photos of the rock came to the attention of the National Museum Wales, which retrieved the fossil from the beach.  “This fossilized dinosaur footprint from 220 million years ago is one of the best-preserved examples from anywhere in the U.K. and will really aid paleontologists to get a better idea about how these early dinosaurs walked,” Cindy Howells, curator at the Amgueddfa Cymru National Museum of Wales Paleontology, said in a statement.  See the pic HERE.

3D Home For Sale

A New York state house billed as “the first 3D printed home in the United States” is being listed for sale online with an asking price of $299,999.  The Riverhead home, listed online by Zillow, was built by a company called SQ4D using an “autonomous robotic construction system” that involved a massive 3D printer creating each piece of the home at the building site.  “Built with concrete, this home will deliver strength and durability that conventional wood-frame construction cannot match,” the company said.  The 1,400-square-foot home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a detached two-car garage.  The process of building the home was chronicled by YouTuber Jarett Gross in a series of videos.  SQ4D said the company’s ultimate goal is to produce homes in the same fashion to bring down the cost of home ownership.

Amber Alert Issued For Chucky!

The Texas Department of Public Safety said an Amber Alert that was issued for the cursed doll Chucky from the Child’s Play horror films was a test that was accidentally sent out.  The Amber Alert message that was sent out to subscribers of the Texas Alerts System three times on Friday describes the suspect, Chucky, as wearing “blue denim overalls with multi-colored striped long sleeve shirt” and says he was last seen “wielding a huge kitchen knife.”  Chucky was suspected of abducting “Glen Ray,” the cursed doll’s son from the film Seed of Chucky. The alert included photos of both movie characters.  The Texas Department of Safety said the fake Amber Alert was set up as a system test and was never meant to be seen by the public.  “This was actually a test we were running on a dev server and it accidentally went out,” DPS spokesman Ruben Medina told KPRC-TV.  See the video HERE

Man Finds Big Cash In Donated Clothing

A city worker sorting through donated clothes in Taiwan came across about $10,140 cash that had been stored in red envelopes and placed in the pockets of a clothing item.  The Taichung Nantung District Environmental Protection Bureau said Huang Chi-lung, a member of the bureau’s Cleanup Team, was sorting through bags of donated clothes at a collection site in the city when he found the cash and notified his supervisor.  Officials took the bag that contained the money to a local police station, where officers found receipts and other documents that identified the owner.  The owner, a 72-year-old woman, said her husband had gathered the clothes to be donated without realizing one of the items contained the envelopes of money she had been saving for retirement and a wedding gift for her daughter.
