Queen and Prince Philip are photographed at Windsor Castle to mark the Duke's 99th

Prince Phillip Celebrates 99th Birthday

Prince Philip is now 99.  He will spend it quietly and in much the same way he’s spent most of his adult life: beside Queen Elizabeth II.  He plans a quiet lunch at Windsor Castle, where the senior royals have been sheltering due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some family members may call but the palace is saying little more than that. Britain is still under coronavirus restrictions that limit the size of gatherings and Philip and the 94-year-old queen are well into the over-65 age group most vulnerable to coronavirus.  The last year hasn’t been an easy one for Philip, who retired from public life in 2017 after 65 years of supporting the queen.  In November, his second son, 60-year-old Prince Andrew, was forced to step away from all royal public duties because of concerns about his links to Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted American sex offender who died in a New York prison. Two months later, Prince Harry, Philip’s grandson, and his wife, the former Meghan Markle, caused further controversy when they announced they were stepping away from royal duties so they could seek financial independence in North America.

Former Bond Girl Responds To Baby Rumors

A former Bond girl responded to rumors that the infamous 007 character will return to the big screen in “No Time To Die” with a 5-year-old daughter.  Rumors have been circulating that the upcoming 25th “Bond” film, which was among the first big-budget movies to push back its scheduled release in light of the global coronavirus pandemic, will introduce a new occupation for the spy character — fatherhood.  Speaking on Tuesday’s “Good Morning Britain,” former Bond girl Britt Ekland, who starred opposite Roger Moore in “The Man With The Golden Gun” in 1974, questioned the wisdom behind waylaying James Bond’s jet setting and dangerous lifestyle with the responsibility of having a daughter.  “I think that Bond should probably be a little bit more untouchable,” she told the hosts (via The Daily Mail). “He’s a fantasy.”  When asked directly if she thinks that making Bond a father will ruin the long-running franchise, she admitted that she thinks it will. However, she made sure to note that the minds behind Bond, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, know better than her what direction to take the character.  Rumors emerged by way of a leak from the production of the film that a new child character will be introduced into Bond’s life played by Lisa-Dorah Sonne. Precious little is known about the plot of “No Time To Die,” however the trailer offers some insight.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Ex Settles Tax Evasion Case

Israeli top model Bar Refaeli signed a plea bargain agreement with authorities on Tuesday to settle a long-standing tax evasion case against her and her family.  The deal will require Refaeli to serve nine months of community service while her mother, Zipi, will be sent to prison for 16 months. The two are also ordered to pay a $1.5 million fine on top of millions of back taxes owed to the state.  The prolonged case, built around her worldwide income and the family’s attempts to downplay her ties to the country, has sullied some of Refeali’s previous image as a beloved national icon.  Still, she remains a popular TV personality and pitch-woman whose image is ubiquitous on highway billboards throughout the country. Last year, she hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.  The heart of the case revolves around Refaeli’s residence earlier this decade when she gallivanted around the world in high-profile modeling campaigns, graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition and had a lengthy romantic relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Joe Exotic Says His Husband Ditched Him

Joe Exotic asked Donald Trump, Cardi B and Kim Kardashian for help in a desperate plea to rescue him from life behind bars, where he says his husband has abandoned him.  He is currently serving time in prison for his role in a failed murder-for-hire plot against his former rival, Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin. He wrote a letter obtained by TMZ in which he declares that the pandemic is over and calls on the president to make good on his promise to look into a pardon for him.   “Just would like to be my own voice for a change, thank you all so very much for the support and love from all around the world,” Joe’s letter begins. “The pandemic is over and now I ask you to ask President Trump to keep his word and look into making this wrong a right and grant me a miricle [sic].”  From there, the letter takes a dark turn as Maldonado-Passage says “my soul is dead” and suggests that all of his friends are too busy being famous off “Tiger King” to care about him in prison. Specifically, he calls out his husband, Dillon Passage.  “I struggle everyday to hold on to what little hope I can find, they keep me locked down 24/7 with no phone, email or commissary and you will never understand the mental abuse this does to a person,” he writes. “I don’t even know if I’m married anymore, seems everyone is so busy making money and being famous I don’t get even a letter from Dillon.”  Joe concludes his lengthy letter by asking Cardi B, who previously tweeted that she supported him, and Kim K, who has successfully secured pardons for prisoners, to help him.

New Matrix Movie In The Works

Keanu Reeves is already offering a sterling review of the planned new “Matrix.”  He is set to return as Neo in “Matrix 4,” which follows 2003’s “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions.”  Reeves decided to continue with the franchise because “Lana Wachowski wrote a beautiful script and a wonderful story that resonated with me,” Empire reports.  “That’s the only reason to do it. To work with her again is just amazing,” Reeves said. “It’s been really special, and the story has, I think, some meaningful things to say, and that we can take some nourishment from.”  Lana and Lilly Wachowski created the original 1999 film, which is now considered iconic in the sci-fi genre.  Reeves and fellow star Carrie-Anne Moss talked about the sequel to Empire for its Heroes Issue set to go on sale June 11.  Moss, who portrays the character Trinity in the franchise, said she was as surprised as viewers that another sequel was happening.  “I never thought that it would happen,” she said. “It was never on my radar at all.”
*******We don’t need a movie to see the matrix!! We’re living in it!!
******Keanu needs this movie!! He’s run out of blue pills!! Or was that red pills??

Pop star Justin Bieber showed he’s a regular sole man!  The “Yummy” singer remembered his mask-but forgot his shoes-and took his tootsies for a spin during a barefoot bike ride.

Mindy & Reese Make It Legal!-(Globe)

“Some things are just meant to be,” gushes Reese Witherspoon, who’s officially sliding back into designer stilettos for “Legally Blonde 3!”  The 44-year-old A-lister will reprise her 2001 breakout role as fashionably fabulous legal eagle Elle Woods in the hit franchise-which impressively grossed nearly $267 million at the box office in it first two flicks!  This time around, 40-year-old comedy spitfire Mindy Kaling was courted to create the golden-haired Harvard Law grad’s latest saga.  “So excited,” beams the former “Office” actress/scribe.  “Elle Woods is so iconic, proving you can be girly and smart at the same time.  Bend and snap, people!”

Sienna & Lucas:  Going to the Chapel!-(Us Weekly)

Sienna Miller “can’t wait to make” Lucas Zwirner her husband, a source says.  The engaged couple are currently planning their wedding and are “looking forward” to tying the knot.  And it sounds like the duo really appreciate each other; Zwirner, “loves how family-oriented Sienna is,” adds the source.  (The actress, 38, is mom to Marlowe, 7, with ex Tom Sturridge.)  As for Miller?  “She loves that Lucas is youthful and fun.”

Margot Issues Ultimatum To Tom-(Star)

Margot Robbie has had enough of being the breadwinner, and she’s warning her husband, producer-director Tom Ackerley, to get motivated-or else “Margot wants Tom to step out of her shadow and be more confident when it comes to his career,” a source confides.  “But his modesty is his undoing.”  The Birds of Prey star, 29, and her hubby, 30, run their production company, Lucky Chap Entertainment, together with two pals-but Tom hasn’t done much to branch out on his own.  And his lack of ambition’s become a turnoff for his wife of nearly four years, who went from being a soap opera actress to hitting it big as a A-list star.  “Margot wants Tom to become one of Hollywood’s most critically acclaimed producers,” adds the insider.  “She’s willing to help-but the days of him riding her coattails are over.”

Say What?!-(Life & Style)

“I was on twitter and I just happened to be scrolling through and it said Sarah Paulson was trending and I was like, ‘Wait, what?  Did I die?  What happened? Oh, it’s the Adele thing again.’”-Sarah Paulson, on fans saying the singer’s recent weight loss transformed her into the actress’ doppelganger.

“Obviously I wish I could see my friends and colleagues on set, but let’s face it, what I miss most is craft service.”-Mindy Kaling, on Hollywood’s shutdown during the COVID-19 crisis.

“I-as a child in kindergarten-refused to go by my name.  People had to call me Leia.”-Shailene Woodley on her lifelong love of Star Wars.

“If I don’t eat within five minutes of waking up, I will tear your face off.  Honestly, that’s the reason I get out of bed.”-Anna Kendrick, on being a breakfast devotee.

Cassie Randolph & Colton Underwood:  It’s Over-(People)

The former Bachelor and his top pick, who met filming season 23 in 2018, announced on May 29 they have split.  “It was a mutual breakup,” a source says of Underwood, 28, and Randolph, 25.  They “weren’t on the same page,” says another insider.  “Colton really wanted to settle down and get married….and Cassie just wasn’t ready.”

Chrissy’s $1,000 Bathroom Break

Apparently, tipping that bathroom attendant isn’t enough anymore!  In a May 19 tweet, a fan reminded Chrissy Teigen about the time she bought a Celine handbag (which retails for $1,000 and up) at swanky NYC department store, Barneys-just so she wouldn’t feel guilty about using the bathroom.  “Wowowowow anyone that knows me knows this is very true all too often,” replied the model, 34.  So she’s done this more than once?!  Maybe she should invest in her own personal porta-potty instead!

Cow Stuck Between 2 Trees

Emergency responders were summoned to a rural area in Britain to assist with the rescue of a cow that became wedged between two trees near its owner’s farm.  The Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said an Animal Rescue advisor was sent to the wooded area in Hightown to assist with the rescue of a 13-year-old British white cow that apparently attempted to pass between two trees and became wedged.  The specialist restrained the cow and kept it calm while its owner, whose farm is nearby, used an ax to cut through one of the trees.  The cow was freed after about 10 minutes. It was given food and water before being loaded onto a trailer and taken back to the farm.  See the pic HERE.

Alligator Spotted At Walmart

Authorities were summoned to a Walmart store in Florida where an alligator was spotted wandering loose in the parking lot.  A witness captured video Sunday showing the alligator wandering the parking lot of the Walmart in Fort Myers Beach.  Authorities were summoned to the scene and wrangled the gator into a shopping cart. The ultimate fate of the reptile was unclear.  A Fort Myers woman had her own unusual alligator encounter last week when a knock at her door turned out to be two gators fighting for territory on her front stoop. Sue Geshel said the alligators battled for about 20 minutes before leaving the area.

Guy Buys 8 Identical Winning Lottery Tickets

A Virginia man collected an $800,000 jackpot thanks to his purchase of eight identical tickets for the same drawing.  Gary Pierpoint of Woodbridge told Virginia Lottery officials he occasionally buys multiple identical tickets for the Cash 5 drawing in hope of hitting the jackpot and multiplying his prize.  The technique paid off big when the eight tickets Pierpoint purchase for the April 13 drawing at Mapledale BP gas station in Woodbridge all featured the five winning numbers.  Pierpoint said his tickets bore the numbers 1-5-7-15-23, which he said represent family birthdays.  Each ticket earned Pierpoint a $100,000 jackpot, for a total prize of $800,000.

Man Shoves Phone Charger Up Penis

An Indian man who went to hospital with abdominal pain had inserted a mobile phone charger cable into his penis, a doctor who treated him told CNN on Monday.  The man visited a hospital in northeastern India last month, claiming he had ingested some earphones, said Dr. Walliul Islam, a general surgeon at the hospital.  But when the cord didn’t appear despite the patient being prescribed laxatives, doctors resorted to surgery.  “He came to us after five days, (and) despite passing stool several times the cable did not come out. We then conducted an endoscopy but still couldn’t find anything. As the patient complained of severe pain, we decided to perform surgery and found that there was nothing in his intestine,” Islam told CNN.  It was at that point that an x-ray revealed the man to have a two-foot-long charging cable in his bladder — inserted via his urethra, the tube that leads from the penis to the bladder.  “Then I made an incision there and took out the cord, which was actually a charging cable over 2 feet long,” Islam said.  “If he had been honest then it would have saved us the trouble and we could have treated him sooner.”

What You Should Know About Flying Right Now Amid The Coronavirus

Huffington Post

Prepare for it to feel different.

“I think everyone needs to realize that it’s going to be very, very different than what they’re used to,” said Tarr. “It’s going to feel weird, it might feel uncomfortable, and, depending on the person, it might feel really scary.”

Still, he added, most airlines are making an effort to keep passengers feeling safe and are receptive to concerns.

“Research what your airline has done before you book your flight and especially before you board,” he suggested.

Choose a safe transit method to the airport.

“If you must fly, consider your local travel method to and from the airport and any rules that the airport may have instituted for safety, such as modified pick-up and drop-off procedures, which can be found on the airport website,” Nagrani advised.

If possible, drive yourself to the airport or have someone in your household drop you off. You can take car services like Uber and Lyft, which require drivers and passengers to wear face masks, but you may want to wipe down your surroundings. Public transit is less costly but exposes you to more risk.

Wear a mask at all times.

To slow the spread of the virus, public officials advise wearing a mask in public spaces, including airports and airplanes. Most airlines mandate that passengers wear masks for the duration of their flights, and many airports require them inside the terminal.

“Wear a mask at all times, unless told by TSA or some other official to lower it for identification purposes,” Tarr advised. It may not be the most comfortable accessory for long periods of time, but this is an important way to protect the safety of you and your fellow travelers.

Bring your own provisions.

To minimize risk, airlines have severely limited their food and beverage services, so be sure to fill your water bottle at the airport to stay hydrated on board. Consider taking some vitamin C and other immune-boosting vitamins or nutrients before the journey, too.

Many airport shops and restaurants are still closed, so you may also want to bring your own snacks from home for your travels.

Social distance as best you can.

“Airports were never particularly fun, and now they’re even worse. But the key is to follow the same protocols you do pretty much everywhere else right now,” Tarr noted. “Keep your distance, and if someone else isn’t keeping their distance, politely say something.”

Plexiglass partitions between passengers and crew are more common, and there are some changes in the security processes, like more staggered lanes and spacing between individuals.

Practice social distancing to the best of your ability at the gate and throughout the boarding process, which may be a little different as well.

“One thing you’ll most likely experience is that planes are being boarded from the rear to ensure that passengers limit interactions with one another,” said Tarr.

Brace for close quarters.

While there are significantly fewer people flying right now, there are also fewer flights and routes in service, so planes aren’t as empty as they looked in mid-March.

In fact, some passengers on recent flights have complained on Twitter about the number of people on board. If you’re concerned about in-flight spacing, you can discuss your options with airline employees.

“Talk to the flight crew and to see what can be arranged,” said Tarr. “United is sending alerts to passengers 24 hours in advance if their flight hits 70% capacity and is allowing you to choose a different flight.”

Clean your hands frequently.

The TSA is now allowing each passenger to carry one 12-oz. container of hand sanitizer through security, so you’ll be able to disinfect your hands frequently. Many airports also have sanitizer stations in the terminals.

Tarr also recommends proper hand-washing at the airport. “I know airport bathrooms are often shockingly, revoltingly disgusting ― but most of them have sensors for soap and water,” he said.

Limit touching surfaces.

“Before travel, consider checking in online and downloading a boarding pass for low-touch experience,” Nagrani advised. Avoid touching any surfaces unless needed.

You can also cut down on the risk of touching surfaces by wearing gloves, but the CDC guidance doesn’t deem them necessary.

Wipe down your seat area.

You don’t have to go full-on Naomi Campbell, but it doesn’t hurt to wipe down your seat area when you board a flight.

Many airlines have shared ways they’re stepping up their cleaning procedures, with measures like high-grade disinfectant, more frequent cleanings and electrostatic spraying.

Keep up with the latest guidelines.

As experts learn more about the novel coronavirus and the disease it causes, guidelines change.

Check for updates on the CDC’s list of considerations for potential travelers as you make decisions regarding your excursions.
