Roger Waters Turns Down Big Facebook Money
Roger Waters has revealed that Facebook honcho Mark Zuckerberg offered him big bucks to use Pink Floyd’s classic 1979 anthem “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2” in an Instagram ad. However he turned him down. “It arrived this morning, with an offer for a huge, huge amount of money,” he said at a recent pro-Julian Assange event, Rolling Stone reported. “And the answer is, ‘F–k you. No f–in’ way.’” He continued: “I only mention that because this is an insidious movement of them to take over absolutely everything. I will not be a party to this bulls–t, Zuckerberg.” This isn’t the first time the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer faced the prospect of his jams being used for promotional purposes. However, way back in the mid-’70s, Waters didn’t balk at providing the theme song for Dole bananas as well as an ad for the French soft drink Gini, according to Far Out Magazine. Why? It helped make rising concert ticket prices cheaper for their fans. Still, the experience reportedly resulted in the band refusing to allow their music to be used going forward in any advertisements that weren’t for a “good cause.”

Brad Pitt left an unforgettable impression on Susan Sarandon. She starred in the 1991 film “Thelma & Louise” alongside Geena Davis. The movie, which just celebrated its 30th anniversary, also features a young Pitt, who starred as a cowboy drifter. Sarandon recently told Extra that his performance surprised her. “When I saw the film, the part that really impressed me, in addition to his good looks and great body, was his sense of humor because he really fleshed that part out in a way that wasn’t necessarily in the script,” she explained. “I thought, ‘Ah, this guy’s interesting, you know, he’s not just a really gorgeous face.’” “He took it as a character part and as we can see from his career, he really continued to push the envelope in ways that he really didn’t have to when you look like that,” she shared. “The Talk” Renewed
“The Talk” has been renewed for a 12th season following longtime co-host Sharon Osbourne’s dramatic departure from the daytime show earlier this year. “JUST ANNOUNCED! #TheTalk has been officially renewed for another year on @CBS returning for a 12th season in 2021-2022! More fun, more topics, more talk!” a message on the show’s Twitter account announced Monday night. CBS did not reveal whether the current crop of co-hosts — Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, Amanda Kloots and Elaine Welteroth — are all returning or if a replacement for Osbourne would be named. The talk show was rocked by controversy earlier this year after Osbourne and Underwood’s heated on-air race row — which Underwood, 57, later said left her dealing with PTSD — prompted a hiatus for the show and, eventually, an exit for Osbourne. Following the on-air spat, former show co-hosts came out to accuse Osbourne of using racist and homophobic language on set in the past — allegations that Osbourne has vehemently denied.

Elon Musk Selling Real Estate Portfolio
Elon Musk took to Twitter to reveal that he would be selling off his entire $100 million real estate portfolio to focus on his mission to Mars. And while he stuck true to his word and sold most of his properties, including Gene Wilder’s home, he held onto one particular residence for a little longer. Located south of San Francisco, the mansion Musk refers to as his “special place” did not initially sell when he first put the 9-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom abode on the market. In November, he took the home off the market. But on Monday, Musk revealed in a tweet that he would officially sell his final home, which he said he used to “rent out for events,” for a whopping $37.5 million. “Decided to sell my last remaining house. Just needs to go to a large family who will live there. It’s a special place,” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO wrote. Having held the title of the richest man in the world earlier this year, with an estimated net worth of $185 billion, Musk had initially purchased the home in 2017 for $23.4 million.

Finding Nemo Fan Theories
A new fan theory about the animated childhood classic “Finding Nemo” has people going crazy. Fans young and old will remember the heartbreaking scene in which clownfish Nemo is separated from his father. However, on the “Just the Nobodys” podcast, the hosts conjectured that the character of Nemo never actually existed. In a twist of fate, Marlin — Nemo’s father, voiced by Albert Brooks — has just been imagining his son as a way to cope with the loss of his wife, Nemo’s mother, and their kids. It may sound ridiculous at first, but there could be some truth to this theory — at least according to the podcasters. “The word ‘nemo’ in Latin means ‘no one,’ ” they explained. “So Disney is literally telling the audience, ‘We have a movie called “Finding Nemo,” but it actually means “finding no one,” because Nemo’s not real.’ ” The podcasters rationalize that this reality could explain why it made sense for Marlin’s Pacific-blue-tang sidekick, Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres), to suffer from memory loss. “That’s why Dory is such a good friend for Marlin: because she has short-term memory loss and can’t remember that Nemo’s not real.” While it’s true that “Nemo” in Latin translates to “no one,” the name could have also been chosen to highlight the fact that Nemo was missing for a large portion of the movie. After uploading on TikTok a clip of their podcast explaining the theory, the video’s views skyrocketed to more than 19 million.

Lightning Hits Car
A lightning strike on a car traversing a Florida highway caused damage to the vehicle and the road — but not the driver. The Florida Highway Patrol said lightning struck a Nissan Rogue traveling westbound Monday morning in Interstate 75 in Broward County. It caused damage to the vehicle’s antenna and electrical system. The strike also left a 7-foot-long, 4-inch-wide gouge in the road, FHP said. The driver of the car, a 48-year-old Naples man, was not injured in the strike. The car was towed from the scene and highway crews were alerted to the damage to the pavement. See the pics HERE.

Woman Finds Old Phone Number In Thrift Store
A California woman took to social media to document the strange story of a thrift store night stand and a concealed note that was written by a childhood friend. Valencia Walker, a San Diego woman who uses the handle @ValenciaVibing on TikTok, posted a video to the site explaining how she purchased a set of second-hand nightstands from a local Goodwill store. Walker said she found a note hidden in one of the nightstands that appeared to have been written by a child. The note contained a series of phone numbers, including one listed for “Carly” that Walker, whose sister is named Carly, identified as her own childhood number. “We have not had a home phone, probably like 10 to 15 years. But what are the chances of that?” Walker said in the video. Walker said she found the girl’s name on another note hidden in the nightstands and a Facebook message confirmed the nightstands had once belonged to the family of a childhood friend.

Kittens Rescued From Wall
A Philadelphia contractor who was taking down a wall at an abandoned home when a kitten fell out ended up rescuing nine cats and seven kittens from inside the wall. Philadelphia Animal Care and Control said in a Facebook post that the contractor was taking down a wall at a vacant home where meowing had been heard inside the walls and a kitten fell out through the hole he had made. The contractor discovered nine adult cats and six more kittens over his next eight hours of work, officials said. Animal Care and Control said one of the kittens did not survive, but the others were cleaned up and given veterinary attention. “They owe their lives to the contractor who saved them and brought them to us,” the group said.

Burrito Blamed For Failed Drug Test
Shelby Houlihan, a former Olympian and American track record holder, says a tainted pork burrito is the reason behind her positive steroid test result and recent four-year ban from competition. Houlihan wrote a long message about the ban Monday on Instagram. She had received a letter from the Athletics Integrity Unit on Jan. 14, informing her of the disciplinary action. Houlihan said she provided a drug testing sample Dec. 14 that came back positive for the steroid nandrolone. The Athletics Integrity Unit released a statement to confirm Houlihan’s ban was upheld Tuesday. “The Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld the AIU’s charge and banned Shelby Houlihan of the USA for four years, starting [Monday], for the presence of a nandrolone metabolite, a violation of World Athletics anti-doping rules,” the statement said. Houlihan said she did not know what nandrolone was when she received the email that first informed her of the positive test. “I have since learned that it has long been understood by WADA [World Anti-Doping Agency] that eating pork can lead to a false positive for nandrolone, since certain types of pigs produce it naturally in high amounts,” Houlihan wrote on Instagram. “Pig organ meat has the highest levels of nandrolone.” Houlihan said she compiled a food log to determine what she ate before her test. “We concluded that the most likely explanation was a burrito purchased and consumed approximately 10 hours before that drug test from an authentic Mexican food truck that serves pig offal near my house in Beaverton, Ore.,” Houlihan wrote. Houlihan notified the Athletics Integrity Unit that she believed the burrito was the source of the nandrolone. She said she also took a polygraph test and had her hair sampled by toxicologists in an effort to “prove [her] innocence.”

- Loosen Burnt-on Food From Cookware
We’ve all been there. You’re washing the dishes after dinner and find you have stubborn food that just won’t seem to come off your pots and pans. Try adding some ketchup over the burnt-on spots. Let it sit covered overnight and the acid in the ketchup should help break down the problem areas so you can easily wash the dish in the morning.
- Shine Copper
If your copper cookware is starting to look tarnished, you don’t have to go out and purchase special metal polish for it. Just cover the copper in ketchup and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse clean and it should be restored to its original shine.

- Eliminate Rust From Your Cast-Iron Skillet
Cast iron skillets aren’t the easiest to clean. They’re susceptible to rust if you accidentally put them in the dishwasher or let them soak in soapy water and then leave them to air dry. Luckily, you can easily reverse the rusty build-up by covering the cookware in ketchup, letting it sit for about 15 minutes and then scrubbing with a Brillo pad or wire brush. You may have to re-season your cast iron skillet, but the rust should be gone.
- Remove Bugs Stuck on Car Headlights
Bugs often meet their doom colliding with cars driving down the highway. If you notice bugs stuck to your vehicle’s headlights or front grill, grab the ketchup. Apply some of the condiment to your headlights for about 15 minutes and then give it a good scrub with a scrub brush and rinse clean.
- Shine Car Rims
Spruce up dingy looking car rims without having to pay to get your car detailed. Spread some ketchup over your rims and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes. Wipe with a cloth rag and then rinse to reveal bright and shiny rims.
- Restore Tarnished Jewelry
Got old jewelry that’s lost its shine? Rub a bit of ketchup over it, let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse and wipe it clean. That should help the jewelry return to its former glory.
- Buff Brass or Silver
If you have brass or silver fixtures or accessories at home that could use a good shine, but you don’t have any polish — try ketchup! Apply a layer, let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes and then wipe clean.
- Restore Rusty Outdoor Furniture
If you notice rust spots on your outdoor furniture after being outside in the rain, a bit of ketchup can help. Squirt some ketchup on the affected areas and leave on for about a half hour before wiping clean.
- Use as a Mini Ice Pack
You know all those ketchup packets you get from takeout orders? Pop them in the freezer to make miniature ice packs. If you’ve got little kids at home, these will especially come in handy for little ouchies that don’t require a full-sized ice pack. Also, since the ketchup packets won’t freeze as hard as an ice cube, they are great for areas that could use a more pliable ice pack.
- Remove Green Tint From Blond Hair
Putting ketchup in your hair is probably something your parents warned you not to do as a kid — but it can have one big benefit. If you have blond hair and have noticed it has turned greenish after swimming in a chlorine pool, ketchup can actually help to neutralize the color change. Squirt some in your hair and let it sit for a half hour (preferably wrapped in a shower cap) and rinse and shampoo as usual.
- Create Fake Blood
You can elevate a killer Halloween costume with fake blood made from pantry staples rather than buying fake blood from a costume store. Just mix equal parts ketchup and corn syrup (or another light colored syrup) with a little cocoa powder for a deep red, congealed blood look. Add water if you want your fake blood to be more runny. Now you’ve got a gory costume addition that you can put on your face without worrying about accidentally getting some in your mouth.
- Soothe Insect Bites
If you’ve got an itchy bug bite, apply a dollop of ketchup to the affected area. Ketchup is said to help soothe some of the irritation from mosquito bites or bee stings.
- Use It In a Facial Scrub
You can create an easy DIY facial scrub with those extra ketchup and sugar packets from restaurants. The acidity in the ketchup helps with exfoliation and the antioxidants from the tomato help soothe inflammation. Using artificial sweetener rather than plain white sugar is recommended, because the finer granules are less abrasive. Test your DIY scrub on a small portion of your skin before applying to your whole face in case you have a reaction.
Bonus: Reuse the Bottle
This hack doesn’t actually involve ketchup. However, an empty squeezable ketchup bottle can come in handy in different ways. Once the bottle is thoroughly cleaned, fill it with pancake mix to create perfect, mess-free flapjacks. Or fill it up with paint for kids craft projects.
